Anti Buy Ibm Software Virus Questions asked
Resolved Question: Questions about Threatfire?
NOTE: I asked this question earlier today but I got unsatisfactory answers so I'm asking it again with slightly different details. I was thinking of getting Threatfire (still deciding on it) as an extra layer of protection for my PC. I researched Threatfire and saw that it has "Real-time behavior based protection". What concerns me about Threatfire is that will it cause conflicts with anti-viruses or anti-threat software that has a "real-time protection" feature? I heard that Threatfire isn't supposed to clash with other antivirus software but I'm not really convinced about it. Also, does Threatfire work along side well with most Internet Security suites (paid and free). Does Threatfire have any gripes or issues I should look out for? I heard rumors that.... -Threatfire contains a keylogger. -Threatfire causes many people's keyboard to stop working. -It slows down your system or it could crash your system! Are some of these rumors true? Despite all these concerns, I still might get Threatfire in the end but should I get it or not? NOTES: I plan to put Threatfire on my second laptop, a IBM Thinkpad running Windows XP SP 3. My IBM Thinkpad has the free versions of Avira Anti-Antivirus, MalwareBytes, and Superantispyware. Even though Avira Antivir doesn't have some sort of "real-time protection" feature, I'm still concerned about it because I'm planning to buy an antivirus software soon. moreVoting Question: How much should I sell my laptop for? And how should I sell it?
I'm thinking of selling my 7 month old X61 Lenovo thinkpad. How much should I sell it for and how should I sell it? These are the specs and a review I found: Lenovo ThinkPad X61 Review BY: Kevin, NotebookReview.com Editor PUBLISHED: 6/20/2007 Click here to Buy a ThinkPad X61 Direct from Lenovo.com by Kevin O'Brien The Lenovo ThinkPad X61 is an ultraportable business laptop geared to individuals who demand the best. Like its larger brothers of the ThinkPad line, it shares all of the same rugged features, as well as the creature comforts of a full-size keyboard. The X61 looks as if Lenovo took a ThinkPad T60 and shrunk it down by 30 percent. Although it is much smaller than its counterparts, it is every bit as fast. This model came loaded with a 7200rpm hard drive, 2GHz Core 2 Duo processor, and 2GB of RAM. Light business travelers can rest easy knowing they didn’t sacrifice anything but weight when they bring the X61 on the road. I never used any Apple system so I am not sure about the cons (mainly) of an Apple system e.g. system heatup issues, battery issues etc. I would appreciate your opinion and suggestions. I mostly use MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), IBM Lotus Notes, Adobe Acrobat, MSN messenger, Yahoo messenger, and some other softwares for making multimedia tutorials etc. Will I be able to use any of these on Mac OS (not using Windows)? If no, what is the alternative? Is there any problem in playing videos (mpeg, mp4, flv, etc), music files? Do I need to "buy" the corresponding software or it is free? I heard that there are some virus issues in Mac as well, which anti virus software is available? Last but not the least, can I downlaod free softwares for Mac (freeware or cracked) like I can do for Windows? moreResolved Question: How can I undo the damage to my IBM laptop which is running slower, freezes, and may have a virus?
I have an IBM Thinkpad A21m pentium III 645MHz 256MB RAM and the operating system is Windows XP professional version 2002 service pack 2. The hard drive has about 20GB and there is over 15 GB of unused memory. I google searched anti-virus, spyware free software and downloaded them which caused major havoc. One such program caused windows to start poping up saying that I have a virus, even though the anti virus scanner didn't pick anything up. When I clicked on the window it would take me to another anti-virus software sight. I even did system restore. The more I have tried the worse my computer has gotten. I initially tried to have MC Afee 30 day trial version but my computer froze up. Is there any software package I can buy, or can someone, step by step tell me what to do so I can undue what I have done, and add a reputable spyware, anti-virus program? If you want more clarification email me at reymantic@yahoo.com moreResolved Question: Are these desktops worth it? Which used one should I buy (Desktop 1 OR 2)? Pls list a reason or 2! Thnx.?
