first i am experienced in computer to a degree so i understand alot of phrases that would sound complicated I partitioned my hard drive into two (C: drive and D: drive). I got a virus called pro anti-spyware 2009 and something else it came with on my C: drive. I tried to delete it with CA but the virus shut CA virus protection down. After about 4 minutes my background on the desktop turned blue with a black box in the middle saying my PC was infected. Soon after it started randomly restarting. Now im on my D: drive. i installed Norton, CA with e-trust and EZ. runs fine no viruses and redownloaded all my programs Q1: if im on my D: drive and i try to open a video (uploaded from my camera in avi form) from my C: drive will the virus transport over to the D: drive. Q2: can i clean the C: drive free of viruses from my partitioned D: drive with the CA and Norton. Voting Question: What could be interfering with my Wi-Fi connection? Details inside...?

First of all, I am on a wireless network with two other people and they're not experiencing any problems. Background info: I recently got a "new" computer (aka different one than I was using before, lol) and immediately noticed I was constantly losing a connection and I had to right-click the Wireless Network Connection icon in the task bar and Repair to get back online. I had to do that every ten or so minutes just to browse the web. And of course, I had a Very Low connection and just one bar. Before, with my older computer, I did have a LOW connection, but I didn't lose my connection and I didn't have to Repair it constantly. So I updated my OS drivers, made sure I had all the recent drivers to everything, I restarted the router, blah blah. I got 4 bars and everything was okay after that for a day or two. I was still losing a connection, but not as frequently. Then, the next day, the connection was low again... and so was the next day... etc. So I decided, "Ok, it's time to move the adapter (and the computer) until I get the best Signal I can get." I found a good place in the same room and it's been consistently 4 bars for over 24 hours... BUT!!! The problem: I am still losing my connection. And what's weird is, when I do lose my connection, it still acts like it's 4 bars and it SEEMS connected. But it's not. I have to Repair the connection, and then the internet works again. I plan to trade adapters (he has the same type I have) with my friend soon to see if there is a problem with my adapter. I have to wait a day or two to do that, so until then, I need some other ideas from you lovely people as to what the problem could be. This is a "new" computer, just had it worked on at the shop. I've had Trendmicro Anti-virus and Spysweeper all this time. They are updated and they are scheduled to scan often. I also use Firefox and the NoScript plugin. I am very very careful online. Just being unnecessarily detailed in case anyone suggests something I know isn't the case. Also, remember, aside from the low connection, my older computer never had these type of problems, where I have to repair to get back online. I am using a Cable Modem, SMC ez connect wireless g, on a DELL Dimension E510. We are using WEP. I've also tested it with and without my windows firewall and there is no difference. So, I have EZ Anti-virus, and I've tried the Webroot (joke), and I"ve tried the Lavasoft, and also Windows live One Care. Both the Lave & One Care cleaned up the spy ware, but not for long. I have a minimal amount of start up programs set, i regularly defragment (hard drive AND registry), i regularly do spy-ware scans, regularly do virus/trojan/worm scans, i run registry cleaners and disk cleaners almost daily and use a variety of programs to keep my computer supposedly running fast. The programs i use regularly are: Tuneup utilities, winutilities, ccleaner, ad-aware, spy-sweeper, AVG Anti-virus, windows defragment, windows disk cleaner, the cleaner, ez anti-virus. Yet, despite all of this, my computer takes about 5 minutes to start responding at a normal speed after i start it up. It runs relatively ok after this but not as fast as it used to (as little as 3 month ago). I've had the computer about 1 1/2 years now. Can anyone think what could be making my computer so slow to start up?Windows defender is another program i use that i forgot to mention, though i think you get my point without me telling you this. more

EACH WERE FREE TO RUN AND FIND, BUT NO REMOVE OR FIX. ONLY ONE WAS (IS). SUPER ANTI SPYWARE. IT IS FREE TO NOT ONLY DOWNLOAD AND RUN, BUT IT WILL ALSO FIX AND REPAIR, QUARANTINE AND REMOVE, FREE. Today while I was playing a game online, I froze on three seperate occassions, play was painfully slow before the big freeze. Exiting the site took forever...and getting back in took 7-8 mins on all three occassions...this happened to me yesterday and the day before as well....surely it cannot be my server causing the problems as I play at different times of the day with the same result.....When I go to a new room on the online game, it takes that long....that someone else is there and half way through a game.....What is happenening? ..No hair left ..ho@%@# from screaming ...run out of expletives ....reluctant to join a game I have done a defrag.....We have EZ anti virus, which I think covers antispy ware..will check on that...and try another one...My kids have limewire on here and I blame that..but I am completely computer illiterate...could it be with limewire, others are downloading stuff off on my computer? more

The have taken control of my firewall and turned it off.
