Open Question: Minecraft Portforward?

So i made a MC server and i wanna make videos on it with my friends. But when i did all steps ( i made my server from watching on youtube ) my friends couldn't join ( it was saying can't reach server). Then i did the portforwarding from portforward.com but still no luck. I did it a few times but nothing. P.S.: My router is TP-LINK Model No. TL-WR340G/TL-WR340GD and my antivirus is eset. Resolved Question: Windows 8 Slow need Help?

Need to fix this problem. I got my HP pavilion desktop December 2012 it came with windows 8 os i never had this problem until about a week ago I'm not sure if its an update but its been SLOW. When using the browser it sometimes has to take a while to load than usual. I'm using Chrome in windows 8 mode and sometimes using IE9 in background for youtube purposes. I can't play League of Legends without lagging or disconnecting; i never go higher than 100 ping and i have 60fps so there shouldn't be a problem. As well i cannot go on steam without trying to reconnect a lot times and i can't even play some games because of a "fatal error" or having the game crash on me. Another note is that I am constantly leaving my pc on over night through the day when im not on im usually seeding. Not sure if that's a problem since i've always done that and never had a problem. As well i frequently get a "DNS server not responding" message Sorry for the some what long and vague details just giving details that might help you tell what the problem could be.I don't seed while im using the computer only when im sleeping and not at home. I am currently using a free antivirus pandacloud since i don't trust mcafee i uninstalled it from my pc. more

Resolved Question: How to remove isearch.fantastigames.com/0 redirect virus?

Yesterday, I installed Hypercam on my computer and I think I might have installed another program along with it. Now whenever I open up google chrome, I'm redirected to the URL http://isearch.fantastigames.com/0. Even when I open Internet Explorer it's the same. I looked up some tutorials on how to remove it manually but usually those are http://isearch.fantastigames.com/440 or something else. I uninstalled Hypercam and anything that had installed along with it. Please help! I don't like the thought of having viruses on my computer! Of all the virus and malwares, the one that I dread the most is a keylogger because it records your keystroke and virtually any of your social networking accounts and in extreme cases even bank accounts can be hacked. So, I want to know what are the various sources from which a keylogger can get into your system ? Sure, if you have a good antivirus, you can detect and remove it but since prevention is better than cure, I would prefer to stay away from those sources. more

Resolved Question: How come my computer is not installing certain programs anymore?

First off,there is that autorun.inf thing anytime I open a pendrive that I've tried to get rid off for a long time.I downloaded some programs to do that: pc cleaner pro pro pc cleaner malwarebytes microsoft essentials but I can't install them.I start and the installation abruptly stops. Funny enough I'm able to install anything else,like photoscape or anything not virus removal related. Also, I'm using Mozilla Firefox and Opera Mini and on both browsers Google doesnt work. Resolved Question: Minecraft -- Two computers, one LAN?

My son wants to play Minecraft with me on two different computers (laptop with WIN 8 and desktop with WIN 7). I have Googled, Asked, Minecraftforummed, Youtubed, etc., but cannot get our two computers to connect. I don't want to set up a server on one computer -- too much work when a direct LAN connection is possible. And I *am* able to play both computers using one account at the same time. I've read all kinds of things about being sure Port 25565 is open, but is that necessary when I'm playing on one LAN? I don't want to go to the hassle and headache of setting up a static IP to open the port when I don't think that's the issue. I have been able to logon to an outside server before. Both computers are on the same local network -- I can access shared files between the two. Even though I'm using the same account, both are in offline mode, so I don't think that's the problem. When WIN 8 computer is playing, WIN 7 can "see" the game on WIN 8 when it's opened to LAN when I click on multiplayer. However, when I select it, I get the dreaded "Connection timed out" error. Connecting two computers on one LAN shouldn't be this difficult. Any suggestions? more

Resolved Question: (PC) Battflefield 3 constant server disconnections?

Within about 2 minutes (often less) of playing on a BF3 server on PC (selected from the server list) I get brutally disconnected without warning. It's fine one minute and the next I see infantry still doing the running animation but not moving anywhere and then 2 seconds later I get disconnected because 'your connection to the server timed out'. It's really annoying me... I can't play a single full match without getting disconnected and reconnecting (only to be disconnected yet again, and again, and again) Granted, I don't have the fastest internet in the world at 1.2 Mbps, my average ping on the servers I go on are way below 100 ms. Also, it's starting to happen with other games like CoD (on my Xbox 360), proving that it's not a problem with the game or hardware. And I don't get sudden errors/disconnections when streaming YouTube videos for a long period of time or browsing the web. I just don't get it. Even if you don't have a complete solution to my problem, advice and pro-tips are also appreciated. more

Voting Question: Forwarding Port 25565?

Hey guys I need to forward the port 25565 for Minecraft, to be more specific a craftbukkit server. I had a server setup up before using Minecraft_Server.exe however i felt like the server needs more so i upgraded to craftbukkit server. The thing is my ports used to work for my old server however they will not open for craft bukkit. I have searched the WWW for about 4 hours now on how to open up these ports but no matter what or how i do it they will not open. Yes I did follow the good old tutorials, changed router settings (Bt HomeHub 2), changed firewalls and even my antivirus but still nothing. I used canyouseeme.org, whatsmyip.org and other websites that show if port is opened however 25565 is not. I know that people who want to connect to my sever need my external IP and i have given them it but it still shows that the port is timed out. I have used the command prompt to see the status of the port and it showed me that port 25565 was TIME_WAIT ( i used the "netstat" command). I think that i went through everything that i did... i have covered the basics but i kinda hope that the mistake is small. I have added 25565 as an exception for TCP and UDP separately, then together and still doesn't work. The port forwarding was linked to my PC by a name and then IP just to make sure but still nothing. I have assigned the port 80 as well to see if it actually works and apparently it does however the port that i need doesn't. I have no other clues on how to fix it and im going quite mental to be honest. I have looked through all the forums and tutorials and nothing seems to work for me. I even used tutorials from my ISP. Please help me out here because i would really like to get this thing running. If you guys would like the IP of the server then i will give you it only if it works... obviously. In short what does software like Norton DNS do? I've been looking at security very closely recently as I've seen a lot of RAT viruses and many people being targeted. More so on MMORPG games. Resolved Question: My computer doesn't boot properly?

My laptop is pretty old - a HP Pavillion dv5000, running windows 7. I hadn't had any issues out of it until recently. Over the last 2 weeks, it has gotten incredibly slow at booting up, when it boots up at all. It will go to the HP Logo, then to the "Loading Windows" screen, and that's it for about 5-10 minutes. After about 5-10 minutes, it will load a black screen with only the cursor on the screen. This screen will persist for a few minutes and then it will do one of two things. It will either take me back to the Loading Windows screen (It usually takes me back to the loading screen 2-3 times before I can actually log in) or it will take me to the log-in screen. If it takes me to the log-in screen, I can input my password, however, I can't log-in - pressing the enter key to input the password does nothing. After a wait (2-3 minutes) it will take me back to the loading windows screen. the only time it starts up with no issue what-so-ever is when I start it in safe mode. No issues there. I'm at my wits end with this laptop. more

i have a Compaq Presario CQ57 notebook. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. 2 GB ram, Intel Celeron 1.5 GHz. Every time I first start up the internet either Chrome or Firefox, it says unable to load page, The site may be down or moved to a different location, or something along them lines. Internet Explorer is too slow so I never use that. I have 97 GB free of 279 GB I'm connected directly to the cable modem, WOW Cable's 50 MB/s connection I have paid subscriptions to AVG 2012 and SuperAntispyware Proffesional, because I listen to music and watch tv on questionable websites online. I run both scanners after doing either of those things, so my system is almost always virus free. The internet doesn't come back up when I unplg my Cable modem for 30 seconds and plug it back in, but it does when I shut down my PC several times. It's really aggravating. 10 points for best answer. Don't tell me to stop listening to music and watching tv online, because thats the only reason i got a pc. Because i don't have to pay for tv which is awesome. more
