I downloaded an Aquarium Screensaver last night...but I decided to uninstall it because I was not happy w/ it. So I had trouble uninstalling it and had a funny feeling about it so I googled the screensaver I downloaded and found that the screensaver had malware so I went into panic mode. So I then went to Cnet and downloaded AVG Anti-Virus, Avast, and Ad-Aware figuring that with these 3 top rated cleaning tools I would be OK but when I turned the pc on this morning, Internet Explorer never loaded and I could not get anything else to open....so I did Ctrl Alt Del and went to processes and found that I had tons of things running....could that be the problem? I am not tech-savvy so I don't know what should be running and what shouldn't.... what should I do? Should I uninstall Ad-Aware and the other pc cleaning programs if get the pc to finally start up? Resolved Question: How do I get the "You're having security problems" pop-up removed?

Ok, so. Please read this all and give me your honest answer. I was in the middle of chatting on msn. And this thing popped up saying my laptop has viruses. So, I scanned my computer with "Microsoft Malicious Software Removal." Now, I re-scanned everything on my computer, and says "no threats found." But down in the corner where the time and things, it shows a red shield with a white "X" through it. And like every 5 minutes, it pops up saying "You have a security problem." Then some thing from Anti-Virus 2009 keeps popping up saying your computer has a virus, would you like to scan now?" But the thing is, its kind of fishy how It wont let you click anywhere because its like a fake window if u want to call it that. Like it shows up, with no site name in the blue bar at the top, it shows a regular window with stuff on it, then a red X like a normal window, nut then my red X is on top of it, and u cant click anywhere on it. While Avast has a pretty good detection rate, its still not good with anti spyware. AIDS threat emerging in Indian 'call center Romeos' (Agencies) Updated: 2008-06-22 15:36 KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia -- A new AIDS threat is rising in India's numerous call centers, where young staff are increasingly having unprotected sex with multiple partners in affairs developed during night shifts, a top AIDS expert has warned. While India has made great strides in bringing down its HIV infection rate, the promiscuity among "call center Romeos" is a great concern, Dr. Suniti Solomon, who detected the first HIV case in India in 1986, told an international medical conference Saturday. The United Nations, however, still estimates there are some 2.5 million Indians living with HIV and AIDS now. "India has reached a plateau of the infections," Solomon told the International Congress on Infectious Diseases, which ends Sunday. Her concern now is the call centers, where many of the young staff work at night to correspond with the daytime working hours of their American and European clients. "They have all the money. They huddle together in the night. They are young, they are sexually active, so naturally they start," Solomon, who runs an AIDS center in the southern city of Chennai, told The Associated Press in a separate interview. She said at least three or four call center workers visit her clinic every week to get tested for HIV because they are worried after having unprotected sex. It is estimated that India's call centers employ some 1.3 million people, mostly youths fresh out of school and colleges, earning a starting salary of 25,000 rupees (US$600) a month, more than a government doctor's paycheck. "You will see call center Romeos are a major high risk for HIV," Solomon said. There are no figures for how many call center workers are infected with HIV. Citing confessions by the visitors to her center, Solomon said groups of young men and women rent apartments along the beach during the weekends and end up having multiple-partner sex. "If they are having sex just among themselves, and all are non-infected it is fine. But if there is one person who has gone out of this group and brought in the virus, it will spread to everyone," she said. While the "call center Romeo" situation is a reflection of recent liberal values, India's anti-AIDS fight is also hampered by society's coexisting conservatism, Solomon told the conference. She said this is evident in Hindu activists' opposition to circumcision -- which is proven to help inhibit HIV transmission -- on the grounds that it is against tradition and religion of Hindu-majority India. Solomon said she does not expect India to accept circumcision for preventing HIV infections. I currently have a FREE comodo Pro firewall (Which never seems to have any updates) FREE Avira Anti virus. I used Paid for security for five years, and lost two computers to virus damage, so my paid for protection didn't protect. So now I'm seeing if I have better luck with a combination of FREE programs. I can't get rid of it! It started with a media player update to play a local footage provided by a odd friend. Then after loads of spyware came into my computer with Anti-Virgear right behind it. It uploaded numberous software without me noticing and was said to be the source of the problem. I ran an AOL scan sometime ago. It's quickscan only detected 2 and was blocked...but a problem made a full scan to scan very slow to the rate that it would take up to 4 days to finish...time I don't have. On top of that, I can't update the security features because of proof of purchase problems. Now I having this unremovable "Security Toolbar 7.1" on my Internet Explore toolbar and two pestering icons telling me every 5 minutes of a spyware alert when they are the spyware. They can't be detected no other way and all of my computer software can't find them. Is there a way to get rid of them? more

Resolved Question: Why did my Zone Alarm Anti Virus suddenly disappear from my computer?

Lately our router or something like it was acting up pretty bad so we had to do without it with our only protection from things on the net being Zone Alarm. But just a matter of minutes ago I opened up the window, checked what was going on in general with it, and then it said "not responding" at the top. I tried exiting out of it and the window wouldn't close, then when it finally closed it disappeared from those small icons at the bottom right hand of my screen right next to the time. So what happened?? I know Answers is safe to use because it never said that any access attempts had been blocked while I was on here but when I wasn't on the net there would be several access attempts blocked, even some that were highly rated according to ZA. I tried searching for it on my computer but it came up with NOTHING. more
