Open Question: is she done? give it time?

thirty years old. been dating this girl for six months (she's 31). not very long, I know, but we hit it off immediately. very close, good friends, we could sit in silence and be happy, she was always very affectionate too.. her parents loved me, spent every weekend with them. she is very independent and focused, something I haven't found in a girl for some time now. every guy she's been with has cheated on her. ex husband from many moons ago, and her last serious relationship (I was her first boyfriend in over a year). she has endometriosis, which causes some problems during sex, and she has a very irregular period, which is somewhat regulated with birth control. I was willing to meet her halfway on all of it. I was understanding, told her she needed to communicate. she's also on citalopram for anxiety/depression. back in June she had mentioned trying to get off her meds, don't know if she ever did. it's possible, last time I was down I didn't see them out on the counter, but who knows....... so we're good for six months. well in the middle of July, her period is horrible, migraines giving her blurred vision, grandfather died and she is very stressed at work. My brother-in-law works with her and he said she went crazy on some people; crying, bad mouthing the boss. To me, it sounded like she was getting screwed over. so I go see her, knowing I'm walking into a mess. well she has an ulcer, can't eat, just wants to sleep, bad headache. I was fine with it. she wakes up, I cook her dinner, we watch a movie. well I started drinking that night, and she's not much of a drinker. she was kind of being short with me all day long so I decided to really drink. Like 19 beers really drink. we end up fighting about stupid stuff. I overreacted, said she was being a bitch, told her she didn't appreciate anything I did (buying groceries, helping build a deck on her house, always paying for dinner, lunch, breakfast, etc.). she was crying, saying she's broken on the inside. our first fight ever, it was bad..... so I leave, then I come back. she lets me in, I pass out. then I wake up to her yelling at me and I'm standing in her living room pissing on her floor. I felt so bad. I honestly was dreaming that I was in her bathroom. she throws me a towel, I clean it up, throw it in the washer, tell her to forget she ever met me (I was embarrassed). so, like any normal human being/man, I apologize profusely the next day with a voicemail. no response from her. send her an e-mail the next day saying hey I'm sorry, I got drunk, shouldn't have raised my voice, you're going through a lot, you said some things that made me mad, I overreacted, I think the world of you, I care for you, I am so sorry......finally she replies. when I'm done, I'm done. you can't talk me into seeing you again. let me know what you want from my house and I'll give it to your brother-in-lawm don't contact me after that. ( I gave her a microwave, stereo system, patio furniture for her deck, stuff for the kitchen) so, I don't reply. a week goes by with no contact. I want closure. so I call. she's crying, saying it's over. she said her dad always said people who smoke and drink are weak. I had to bite my tongue because this is coming from someone on anti-depressants (also, I quit smoking for her. three months now). she said she doesn't like my drinking, I do it every weekend for no reason. I agreed ( I haven't been to fond of my drinking abilities as of late either). told her I'm going to fix it. she said it's too late. she said that I wasn't the one for her, then she would follow that with "I'm never getting married again." she said she doesn't do red flags anymore.....I told her that her not being able to have sex and taking medication could constitute as a red flag, but I didn't run away from her. she cried and cried, said I was the nicest guy and I did the nicest things, and that this was hard, but it's over......... I asked her, if my drinking was really problem why not bring it up until now, until we have a fight. she said she didn't want me to change for her and she didn't want me to throw it back in her face (lets keep in mind the first night she met me, she asked me to quit smoking because it was a deal breaker). so I tell her, "listen, I care about you and I screwed up royally here, I want to change for me because I don't like my drinking either, that I was going to give her some time to cool off, give her space. if she wanted to talk to me that I would be open for a discussion. she said bye. so here I am. going sober (also, I only drink once a week, but when I drink, I can drink). she said she was done and I'm not the one. I don't know though. she's going through so much at work, not sure if she stopped her meds, her period can wreak havoc on her. I care about her immsorry, yahoo cut off the rest. question is, if i give her time and space will she come around? and I did quit smoking, long before any of this.keep in mind. this all happened last week 7/24. then one week with no contact, and I finally talked to her yesterday 8/3. more

A Mexican-American kid in San Francisco is suspended from school for wearing an American Flag t-shirt and saying he is American first and Mexican Second. Voting Question: Is it wrong that I'm acting like my ex?

I have this really complicated past with my exboyfriend. I'm pretty sure we're over for good now and I'm becoming more like him. He's a sXe, I decided to commit to not doing drugs or having s#x or drinking. He's a hardcore PUNK, I started listening to Minor Threat, Bad Religion, Pennywise, Black Flag, Anti Flag and some other stuff that comes up on www.pandora.com He's a history nerd, and this morning I found myself picking up a civil war book. The guy who used to be his best friend is now my best friend. I want black combat boots that look kinda like his, but my mom won't let me get them. We were best friends for like two years before all the stupid relationship crap, and I got all Emo and pushed him away. He's gonna be a soldier, and all of a sudden I've started appreciating the military. Also, he wears army grade clothes and sometimes camo, and I'm getting a military style jacket for back-to-school We don't talk anymore and I'm not acting like him in hopes of him noticing. He lives in a different state, and he won't know. I like it, and I love his personality, but is it just wrong? It feels weird. He's 14 and a half, I'm turning 13 soon. God I feel like a stalker though. OPINIONS?? more

Voting Question: Should I stay in this relationship or leave?

My therapist advised me to break up with my girl friend as soon as possible. She believes that my girl friend has serious psychological problem that can really hurt me in future. She attempted suicide one month ago while I was in long distance relationship with her and spend 2 weeks at the mental hospital. The reason she bought for why she attempted suicide was the pressure she felt after her sister attempted suicide. so her sister attempted suicide as well. My therapist has not seen my girl friend but she said two sister who both committed suicide in one family is a major red flag which means I should run and finish this relationship. right now, my girl friend takes anti depression medication. The only problem that I have with her is that quite often she asks me to promise I will stay with her forever. She is also very insecure and keeps asking me how much I love her every time she calls. Do u think I should follow my therapist advise? more

I hear about this new law in Arizona and want to know more about it. Even though I'm a U.S citizen and got nothing to worry about, I want to know more. I've heard both points of view and I'm not taking sides...I guess for the moment. After watching some videos, isn't it more like a racist law? I saw sheriff Arpaio's supporters stomping on a Mexican flag and well, isn't it hate? Doesn't it seems like it is being hidden with the term "anti-immigrant." um, and well we saw on tv how the sheriff referred to immigrants and he kept on making weird faces. like saying "ew." Resolved Question: Are there too many red flags, or am I just being overly picky?

I met a man on an online dating site. We have known each other a total of 10 days now, and only been out once. He has been extremely attentive and comes from a seemingly good family and is a college professor. When we met, I was surprised at how very slowly he moved. He seemed tired and his movements were stiff, like he had arthritis or something. He finally admitted that he was on long term anti-depressants, and then he told me he had been married 4 times and it had been really hard on him, but his counselor said he was ready to start dating again. He is insisting on spending lots and lots of time with me, and even on our first date, gave me a card wishing me a happy anniversary, because this was the first night we were together. He texts me constantly, telling me he misses me, and he even did this before we'd even met face to face. He wants to take off work and spend all day long with me this week. I feel it's all a bit rushed and strange. Is he just a good guy who has had many difficult life circumstances, or is he possibly a big risk? [4 marriages is a lot of marriages for a 50 year old guy!] I am very cautious in my romantic relationships, and he says I have a barrier up. Any advice? more

BIG BEAR LAKE - A "Mexico" t-shirt worn to support the county's World Cup soccer team has created a full-blown controversy in the Bear Valley Unified School District. The mother of the girl who wore the shirt to Big Bear Middle School on June 11 alleges her seventh-grade daughter's teacher took offense to the shirt and accused her of being an illegal immigrant in front of the class. Diana Aviles says she and her daughter are U.S. citizens. The teacher later apologized. The incident has erupted into a battle between anti-illegal immigration activists and Latino groups who say the teacher's alleged behavior is an example of racism and racial profiling. At the district's Board of Trustees meeting Wednesday, members of the conservative activist's group We The People were expected to speak during public comment. The group opposes illegal immigration and employers who hire and exploit illegal aliens, according to a statement on its Web site. Ray Herrera, the group's founder, president and spokesman, says he believes Aviles is an illegal immigrant granted amnesty. He says she's trying to push a "Mexican agenda" on Americans. She allowed her daughter to attend school with the shirt and owns a Mexican restaurant in Big Bear City that displays a Mexican flag, which Herrera describes as "antagonistic." Aviles said it's not outrageous to have a Mexican flag in a Mexican restaurant. "This is just a case where they think they've found another poster child - another racial profiling story." "If (Herrera) wants to turn this into an immigration issue that's his problem," Martinez said. "The reality is you have an American student who was profiled." A statement from the district says it's investigating allegations from a student that a teacher made racist remarks against her during a class. The statement then says the district will not comment on the findings of the investigation until it's completed. Aviles says the teacher should be fired. She wants her daughter to be moved to another class if the teacher remains at the school. "I'm angry," Aviles said. "Why should it be turned into a political thing when this is about a child who is being ridiculed? That teacher showed hatred in the class."
