Just wanted to know if I messed up Not going to lie here I was on www.xvideos.com looking at well you know and when ever I go to this website I get a pop-up ad the first time every time when I go to this website and click play on a video it will only give a ad once per time I visit the website but if I was to exit off the webpage and then go back to it and click play on a video any video it will give me another pop-up the first time again like usual but not for the rest of the time I will be on the website until I exit off it again and repeat it all does the same thing for another site I visit as well I use Google Chrome and when I go to this website I do it on a incognito window I have all my settings to block pop-ups but I keep getting these pop-ups for some reason the pop-ups are always full screen pop-ups that take over the whole screen that are usually for party poker or some other bs website I just exit them off not thinking much of them I also was doing soom searching on Google and reading that these pop-ups can't be blocked not with Google Chrome anyway because they take advantage of something? don't really know much about computers or anything and I'm still looking into it and doing some research about that But today when I went to that website for the first time and clicked play on a video I wanted to watch instead of some BS full screen ad pop-up for party poker or some other dirty website the full screen pop-up was a blue screen and it had a pop-up in the middle that looked like a Windows XP pop-up (My operating system is Windows XP BTW) and it said something along the lines of this because I didn't really read it fully and can't remember because I was in a panic We have found that spyware has been downloaded on your PC call this number for assistance and then had a 1-800 number the message went something like that When it happened I panic'd and I hit ctrl atl delete and deleted everything that was currently in tab form on my PC and since then I have done three things Ran a Norton Anti Virus full scan and looked at the recent history and attacks ETC and came back with nothing and I'm currently running a malwarebytes anti malware scan and so far I'm coming back with nothing So did I get hit with spyware or am I safe Please don't ask me to download anything because (Two reasons) I don't have the slightest clue what I'm doing or could be doing on the Internet and I have a problem trusting someone over the Internet when it comes to downloading something when all I know them by is a line of text on Yahoo answers I'm sure you can understand So I'm just sitting here wondering what should my next step be and how should I go about it Any help will be greatly apreciated Thanks-Just to ad some more infoI did not download any new programs in the last week I have not noticed my computer load webpages slower and I never get any pop-ups from any other website I visit except for the two one above that is mentioned more

Open Question: I think my computer has a strange virus.?

I was scrolling through fail blog when all of a sudden a pop up came up. It said spyware alert. I got out of it and turned on my malwarebytes anti malware. All of a sudden this weird music came on, and then a man started talking about prostate cancer and that you should talk to your doctor, blah blah blah.... this got very annoying and went on for a few minutes. When ever someone stopped talking, the same music played and the next person will talk. It kept talking about prostate cancer! I got very annoyed, so I rebooted my computer. I then decided to play spore galactic adventures. 5 minutes into playing, that same music came on, only this time it was a girl talking about AS or something. Is this a computer virus? If it is, how do I get rid of it? more

Hi, I have skype and recently got a link from my friend that said ... OMG, is this you in the pic and then followed by a link to facebook. I was confused as i didnt have facebook so i clicked on it and it downloaded a zip folder. I opened it and nothing happened. It then started coming up in m conversations that i was giving a link like that too. Then i read that it was a scam and that then someone had all your info and things. I was so scared and still am. Voting Question: My laptop is slow even after cleaning it?

I have an Acer Aspire 5733z-4851, windows 7 home premium, intel pentium P6100, 4 GB DDR3 memory, 500 GB HDD and intel HD graphics. I clean it daily. I use ccleaner, I defrag every other day, I use anti virus, malware, spyware etc. I turned off all my startup programs, optimize for best performance. I even do regedit and not running too many programs at one time. I'm trying to give as much detail as possible. Even more mind boggling is I've gotten the blue screen several times and a few viruses that wiped everything out, but still worked until just a couple of days ago. more

So, what I'm saying is... I accidentally clicked on some link and it lead to me some page. I checked it out on AVG Threat Labs and apparently, some exploit thing was found on there and there was 2 Compromised Pages. However, there wasn't any recent viruses found on there in the past 30 days, so it was listed Currently Safe: Green. I'm really questioning if I really got a virus or not. I have the ad-on Noscript, which blocks programs like Java, etc., unless you fix the settings. When I went to the site, it had the Noscript sign on the screen, which meant that it had blocked the whole page, and it was pretty much a blank page with just the sign on there. So, does anyone think I got a possible virus?And, should I do a virus/malware scan? more

as you may now, (from my other question) my family computer has been getting hijacker viruses, and we do have a security system called "spybot search and destroy," but it isn't picking it up that our computer had hijackers. it never warned us or anything like that to say that there was malicious software and even when i scanned it it didn't come up. I am starting to doubt if it is safe or if it works properly. p.s my brother in law is a whizz when it comes to computers, and he was the one who helped set up the computer and he put the spybot on our computer, so i think it's safe, maybe it's just not reliable. I have a Toshiba laptop spec...MD Athlon™ X2 Dual-Core Processor, 2.1 GHz, ATI Radeon™ HD 3200 Graphics , 64-bit operating system and 4 GB system memory running Windows 7. It seems to be running very slow both on the internet and throughout my drives. I've had the laptop for a good few years, but recently wiped it (2-3 months ago) all seemed fine. But recently its got very sluggish. I ran a full system scan via AVG (free version) but nothing major was picked up. I just recently asked a question about a popup message (High CPU Usage is the message by the way) I have been getting lately. My PC is only one year old but yes it is a "Low End PC". Being disabled it was all I can afford. HP Model # p2-1013w. A man replied and said without my specs he could not begin to tell me what it may be other than a virus. I run Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1. My processor is an AMD E-450 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 1.65 GHz. Installed RAM is 3.00 GB (2.60 Usable). 64 Bit O.S. No pen or touch is available for this display. Please, I hope this will narrow things down to the possibilities. I have Comcast high speed internet which comes with Norton Security Suite with Constant Guard. When I had Kaspersky , I never had this problem until just recently (about 1 month). My web pages sometimes do not seem to open as fast as they use to but still not the slowest I have ever seen either. Sometimes when I open Facebook, it looks as if 2 layers of the page are opening for just a moment (I can see 2 corners of the page in the bottom left corner of the monitor until it fully opens) Any help would be great and please no "solicitors" trying to get me to download a CPU checkup or tuneup which is usually malware. Why do people put such programs on the web? Antivirus immediately picks it up. And finally what do you people think about Tuneup Utilities. I am in a gray area on that program. Resolved Question: which antivirus, antimalware, antispyware, etc, should I use?

I've recently wiped my laptop clean back to it's orignal state, and I'm currently covered by the Norton Internet Security, but I know that won't last long. Before wiping my laptop, I was using Avast Antivirus for virus protection and Malwarebytes for malware protection. I'll likely install those again unless there are better free online antivirus and antimalware programs. which would you recommend? I've heard of spyware too, and was wondering what a good antispyware free program might be. and are there any other anti programs that i should be using to protect my pc? that i can get online for free of course. thanks for your answers more

Okay this might be a little long. First of all I don't believe my machine is infected with a virus or malware etc etc... Reason why is because I Have AVG Paid Version and Malwarebytes Pro "and yes they are compatible I know for a fact they work fine together! any way I've updated and scanned my PC in Normal and safe mode with both of them. I've also Scanned my PC with Microsoft Security Essentials,Avast and kaspersky TDSS Killer and Super anti spyware don't worry I never had them all together just separately at different times now after scanning MY PC with all of these in normal and safe mode I'm 99% sure my PC is clean! Okay here is what Happens I'll be browsing with Fire Fox especially if i open Youtube Facebook and another page open at once my fire fox will stop loading pages my internet connection on my router is fine I can still connect and use the internet with other devices. Also after firefox stops loading pages up I close it then open it agian and it won't open any pages still. and I looked in the processes in my task manager and firefox is still running I have to end task could this be because of "No Script Addon? And I diagnosed my internet connection and it found nothing wrong and the internet system tray applet shows it's connected! Also I have Spyware-blaster,AVG Paid and Malwarebytes Pro installed with the AVG FireWall enabled! I can diagnosis my internet and it says it's fine. after the Firefox crash IE won't open up web pages and my rain-meter weather radar won't update I have to restart my PC and then every things fine.I Think it may be something to do with flash palyer because I've opened up one or two pages in You tube and it will cause it! more

Voting Question: Firefox takes long to open up & is always slow when visiting a new page?

Hello folks, I've found that since a few days my firefox is taking time to open up, but it also takes time when I want to go to a new page, or click a link. I've checked with Super Anti-Spyware, Comodo Anti-Virus and I've run CCleaner and nothing really showed up-apart from tracking cookies on SAS, but mind you tracking cookies always show up when I run SAS. I'm always careful which websites I go to, and which websites I download from so I doubt if it's a virus thing. I've got Windows 8, 64-bit but I've had this computer since November and this has never happened before. I've not changed any settings on Firefox and the add-ons I have I've had since November and I've never had any issue with Firefox. Resolved Question: Does anyone else have a problem with CVS Pharmacy ads making their yahoo email unreadable?

I can't open or delete or select next when a CVS Caremark ad appears at the top of my browser. It's very frustrating. I was wondering if I am the only one with this issue and if anyone knows how to solve it?This does not happen with any other Yahoo ad, only the CVS Pharmacy ads. help! okay a lot of people are getting emails from aparently my accoutn but they are nto from my accoutn they are usign forged headers. yahoo has somehow in it's infinite wisdom confused my account with those forged headers. no i do not send spam from it. nor have i ever. this is an ongoing issue, i've changed passwords done everythign i can and still i'm getting the notice that my emails can't be sent. what is the deal here and since i can't stop people from forging headers how do i fix it? i can't stop people from breaking into my friends accoutns and sending their contact lists mail from my address, or the other ones in their email. and it's giving me a migrane. can i get my home ip white listed or punish the people forging my email in their headers? i mean i can't stop people from forging headers. and yahoo no longer has a contact us email so i gotta rely on help from the community who doesnt'g et paid by yahoo either. please can someone help me? thanks frustrated alannanote to the reply down below.said "it sounds like my account got compromised". i DID everything yahoo and you said to do. 3 times.i still can not help the troll's who send out forged headers with my name stuck on top of them.and yahoo is not intelligent enough to read the full headers before they go blocking people. more
