Resolved Question: Should women be allowed to go topless in public...or not?

Hi folks. When viewing an enlightening article on CNN this morning, I was moved to consider the question of whether women should or should not be allowed to be topless in public. After some thought on the subject, here is what I found to be the primary motivators on both sides of the issue, namely... THE "PROS": 1. Freedom. There is much to be applauded about living in a free society without any question whatsoever...but how far should freedom be allowed to go without society being degraded? 2. Equality. The women who insist that they should have the same rights as men are quite vehement about their cause, and from my viewpoint this is quite understandable...but are these women 100% certain of their real true motivations behind the claim of "Equality", or is it simply veiled jealousy of men's ability to be seen in a non-sexual light when their shirts are off, or if that is not exactly correct, at least far less sexually provocative as women are with their breasts fully exposed? And also, are these women who are firm supporters (no bra puns intended ladies) in actuality simply trying to gain even more attention than they already get for themselves everyday, while hiding under the auspices of "Freedom" and "Equality"? There is another side to this issue, but I think it belongs in the following catagory. THE "CONS": 1. The Morality Issue. With the knowledege that there are most certainly tribal societies that have existed for countless centuries that allow women to bare their breasts publicly, still, our modern "Civilized" society is factually not ready for such things, and perhaps there may be good reasons...but from my viewpoint not necessarily for the reasons forwarded by the followers of most established religions. In other words, what I mean is that factually speaking, modern heterosexual men are highly attracted to women's breasts to the point of intense feverishness, and women know this by the way - which shows a clear reason why many women might wish to have the attention poured upon them in such a way, but there are factually men who cannot control themselves when they are confronted by such an obvious and open display of female sexuality, from which breasts cannot easily or simply be removed...true or not true? For this reason, perhaps the laws are in place not to "resrict" women from their inherent freedoms, but rather to PROTECT THEM from men or persons that may simply not be able to control themselves, especially when drunk or on drugs, etc.. If this is the case, which I think it very likely is, then that would mean that by removing the laws, women in favor of this would then be literally removing a potentially vital layer of protection which keeps them safe to walk the streets at any time of the day or night. 2. And lastly, there is the issue of common decency. Look, although we might be intelligent beings and have the sovereign right to all good freedoms in general, not all women happen to look like Claudia Schiffer, Gisele Bundchen or Naomi Cambell. In fact, let's face it...most women do not do not look like these incredible, super-bodied, gorgeous icon-like women, and they simply never will. (Sorry ladies, but this is a fact)! Therefore, is it not also the sovereign right of all those (the masses including small children) who would then become forced onlookers of the bare breasted women in question to have their rights upheld and not be forced to have to view legions of boob-airing women exercising their right to expose their not-necessarily-so-beautiful-looking mammaries in public? And what about the women themselves? Even if their breasts are possibly somehow even better looking than a supermodel's, what about their own sense of decency and the other issue of feeling good about being protected from those unwanted persons who would not be able to control their actions by seeing them in such a state of un-dress? The true end point of this seems to revolve more around the concept of the interaction between freedom of exposure versus freedom from being sexually provoked on the other side of the issue, and the potentially devastating consequences that could arise from this freedom being violated - such as rape and/or sexually aggravated assault or even worse. Women who wish to bare their breasts publicly should perhaps theoretically have the right to do so, but conversely, the innocent masses who wish to retain the freedom to be free of being forced to deal with viewing hordes of topless women parade around in public also have rights...yea, or nay? What do you think? more

This is a story idea/draft i just made. Please give me any feedback, critiques, anything to help me make the story better. Thanks!! Oh! The plot is, generally, there are two opposites, dark and light, right? There are two types of angels. The holy ones, and the dark ones, or demons. The demons, or, Sovereign, are the "good ones" This story is in the Sovereign's perspective. This is not a good versus evil story, because they could both be evil in your mind. They're at war. I dunno why yet, so you guys can help me out with that one! There are three elite families of the Sovereign, and one elite family for the alumina. The Sovereign are elegant, agile and mysterious, while the Alumina are headstrong, quick and cocky. I don't want to give too much away, so just figure the rest out, thanks! DAWN'S DISEASE CHAPTER 1 Her eyes shone fear, and never once did she twitch. She looked into her cold, hazy eyes, wondering quite frankly, how she’d ended up in this place. Rage and regret shaded her fear, and for just one second, she felt as if something had come over her. No, not fear, regret…rebirth, safety…calm. But that feeling quickly washed away as a slight burning engulfed her eyes. A painful ringing held in her ears as a frightening shriek held in the air. Silence, at last, finally came. Dawn was breaking, and the old, stone double doors opened to reveal a new face, one that which only could be seen under strict invitation. The black lace did not, however, hide her milky white eyes, which glowed a dim, white light. Behind her, stood a rather beautiful young woman, she looked eternal, and kept her savage eyes eyes fixed on mine. She would never leave the Lady’s side, she thought. Now was the time to look around, before she was finally taken to who knows where. Before her eyes could move away from the woman’s, the Lady’s deep voice rang in. “Why, what could be the problem here? I did not want to be interrupted, dawn is almost here, and we need to prepare for battle. The guards are suited and ready, and you haven’t even introduced me to this arrogant piece of worthlessness!” she yelled. Rage shown in her milky eyes, while the other woman’s stared at me for one last second before turning her head. “Yes, who is this? Tell me before I have to rip her to shreds,” even though her voice came out as kind, her tone was sarcastic. She stared at blue eyed maiden who had attacked me. Her eyes had fear in them although she stared in disgust at my face. She placed both of her hands on her heart as one went on top of another, her fingers spread. She scowled at me before taking a breath and kneeling. “Veiled Lady, please to not be angry. You have no need to kill me, I was only doing my job,” she explained as her eyes stared at the cold, stone floor. “And what job was that?” she asked in anger. The maiden stood and her eyes glittered as she said, “Taking care of an Alumina.” Her eyes widened in confusion as she stared at me. Her servant growled at me and she crouched ready to rip my skin. “Wait,” she said, as she held her hand up to her servant. The servant’s yellow eyes reverted from me to the Veiled one’s in confusion. “How would you know she’s an Alumina?” she asked. “Look at her skin! It’s glowing! How could she not be? Every one of us knows the Sovereign have pale, matte skin!” she yelled “I can sense something about her,” she said. She walked over to me, her footsteps leaving burn marks on the concrete. She looked me up and down with her white eyes and said, “We cannot be sure,” She walked back to her servant and turned her head one last time. “Minerva,” she said, “Take her to the dungeon.” She started walking back through the double doors as I was clawed at and dragged down the cold stairs. I could feel blood trickle down my throat as i fell into un-conscientiousness. The last thing I remember hearing is a door banging against stone walls, and the clinking of chains being locked. more

The Duke of York is parading around with a 25 year old woman (three years older than his elder daughter Princess Beatrice). He and his entire marital family are starting to make my blood boil. The Royal Family are supposed to be the senior family of the land and as such set an example for the people to follow. What example have any of them shown? The Duke of York is giving the impression that romping around with a 25 year old at his age is somehow morally acceptable. His ex-wife is a scheming, money grabbing hussey who gets filmed having her toes sucked, uses and abuses a title that is no longer hers for financial gain as well as abusing her former position of priveledge (again!) as a means of getting money, then pretending she has a drink problem to account for her disgraceful behaviour whilst lying that she has no money which prompted her actions. For someone who has no money she has a wonderful lifestyle! She drives around in bentley's, goes on family holidays and stays with Paddy McNally (a buisness tycoon), has a wonderful apartment in Manhatten and has been seen on more than one occassion sporting the latest fashion and dripping with diamonds. Don't get me started on Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie who are supposed to be the second and third ladies of the land after the Queen (with the title Princess and the style Royal Highness I might add) and are frequently seen stumbling out of nightclubs and bars two sheets to the wind at redicolous o clock in the morning with champagne and bubbles flowing out of their ears whilst expecting respect on account of their "positions" (whatever that may be!). If their not doing that, they are back packing around the world flirting with every Tom, Dick and Harry and being photographed in the press in compromising situations (I wonder who they get that from) or finding themselves in dangerous situations and getting their belongings stolen. Who is paying for this glamorous lifestyles of constant parties and holidays abroad? The ordinary British tax payer! Who is paying for the security who has to get these people out of these redicolous situations? Of course! The ordinary British tax payer! These people are supposed to be setting examples to the nation among other things and they command respect as a result. If their not doing that, they are either in vogue magazine sporting every oraffice of their bodies or making cameo appearances in films. It just makes me sick! What exactly are they doing for their money? Nothing.. absolutely nothing! I firmly believe that it is time to revise the letters patent of 1917. I respect and admire the Queen and she must cringe at the newspaper articles and magazine features. She has always remained neutral an above politics and has behaved in an exemplary fashion but some of her family are just leeches and sponge of the state to fund their lavish lifestyles. Prince Andrew recently took a helicopter ride from Portsmouth to Edinburgh (or something like that) costing £500,000.00 while our boys in Afghanistan are desperate for aeroplanes. It's time to get rid of the hangers on and bring some dignity back to the Monarchy. Currently the letters patent provide for the children and grandchildren of the sovereign in the male line "to bear and at all times enjoy the style and title" with the pre-eminence and priveledge that comes with it for all time. I say i've had enough! I think the Monarch, the heir and the heir of the heir alone should have that priveledge. All the others should fend for themselves. If the Queen has enough money to throw at her family with no problem at all, it is time to reduce the civil list annuinty and ensure that the hangers on are forever dealt with. Princess Michael of Kent argues that as the Grandson of a King, they are entitled to apartments at Kensington Palace. NO! In 2011, they will be formally evicted and this should go for all the hangers on including Andrew, Beatrice, Eugenie, Edward, Sophie, Louise, James, Michael and Pushy.. hell! Anyone who is not the sovereign, the sovereign's consort, the heir, the heirs wife and the heir of the heir and his wife. Get rid of them! Then we'll still have a Monarchy that we can respect and money we can plow into our society and to aid the NHS and the armies in Aghanistan. What do you think? Resolved Question: Is the money mine legally?

I am dumping the idiots at Sovereign Bank, and just opened a new account at T.D. Banknorth. I faxed the info to our "home office" (ONE LADY) so my direct deposit would go to the new bank. Well, she screwed up and deposited my crappy little check into the Sovereign account, which is still open just until I see everything's going smooth, BUT she put the assistant manager's check into my new T.D. bank account. It's like 400 bucks, and I have every intention of returning it. However, this guy wouldn't even SPEAK to me before he got promoted, now he tries to be friendly cuz he has to. Like I said, I will return the money as soon as it clears (it's not available yet). But just out of curiosity, if I didn't, legally is it mine because of their error? It's not really larceny, but say I left it there and said I was too busy to return it, what could they do? Note: in case you think I'm trying to steal it you are wrong, cuz I don't need money, I have like 5 bank accounts right now. Revenge is a great satisfaction to have against your enemies, but what good is it if it isn’t thought through? In order to have great revenge, the plan has to be flawless, and as you develop this plan, it has to be done in secrecy, under the radar so to speak. It has to be in such a way that no one would think twice about you, and go about their business without having any fear. That’s what happened in Shakespeare’s Hamlet. The need for revenge compelled and drove Hamlets actions. In Shakespeare’s Hamlet, his father the king is murdered by his uncle Claudius, who then takes the throne, and on top of thank, his mother, because they end up getting married immediately after his father’s death.. When Hamlet is approached by the ghost of his dead father, who reveals to the confused Hamlet the circumstances of his father’s murder, he at first has doubts, but is lucid enough to take these doubts in an attempt to confirm them. Hamlet puts on an act while in the presence of others, to try and keep a low profile and remove any chance that suspension might fall upon him or his plan. Also, the mere fact that he carries out this plan shows a man who is competent enough to understand his actions and do what he’s doing with great purpose. Shakespeare’s Hamlet puts on an act of insanity when he interacts with other people, shows a display of no self control over his emotions, and his carrying out of his revenge shows his clear thought process and sanity. The ghost of Hamlets dead father approaches him to reveal the true circumstances of his fathers death. He goes on to explain that Claudius murdered him. “…The serpent that did sting thy father’s life now wears the crown.” (Shakespeare I.V.47-48) Taken away with this new found information, he takes the information and mulls it around. He justly has his doubts. In order to either dispel or confirm such bold statements, he finds a way to test the ghosts story, by acting crazy, which he freely admits to doing. “As I perchance hereafter shall think meet to put on an antic disposition” (Shakespeare I.V.191-192) Hamlet decides to test the ghosts story by putting on the play with circumstances close to his father’s death, watching as his uncle Claudius gets upset, and later provoking him to attempt to send him away to England. I know of no insane person who has the ability to think of such a great idea. In another attempt to confirm what the ghost told him, through antic dispotion, Hamlet put on an act for Ophelia, knowing she would go back to her father with news of it, who would in turn go to the king, hoping he’d write him off as nothing more then an insane person. “And I, of ladies most deject and wretched, That sucked the honey of his music vows, Now see that noble and most sovereign reason out of tune and harsh” (Shakesspear III.I.13) This shows Hamlets sudden change in behavior torwards Ophelia, who before was noting but nice to her. In the movie our class watched, his emotions are captured with great detail. You can feel how he feels, think what he thinks. You can see how smart he really is. He delibertly calucalted and executed this plan perfectly to his benefit. He used her. At the beginning he is single-minded, all of a piece, all melancholia; then he puts on his mask and plays the antic, carrying on buffoonery to the verge of hysteria; his disposition is manic in the presence of others and depressive when he is by himself. (Bloom 53) Can an insane person think with such intelligence? To be able to use someone without there knowledge? One must ask themselves these questions. Just the action of him questioning the ghosts statement shows logic. An insane person can not think on there own, there compelled to believe what they hear instantly, which Hamlet did not do, further proving his sanity. When Hamlet interacts with others, he puts on an act to make them think he’s crazy. He did so with Ophelia, who in turn made Claudius feel the same. When he tested the ghosts story by making Claudis feel uncomfortable at the play, the people around him saw him as a lunatic, when he wasn’t. Hamlet is so good at convincing others of his false insanity, even his best and most trusted friend, Horatio, has his doubts. Horatio states “Assume some other horrible form which might deprive your sovereignty of reason and draw you into madness?” (Shakesspear I.IV.80-84) In an attempt to make people more at ease with his behavior, he invites his friends and people who question him to stand by his side to show them that he is trying his best to play a role he would rather not play for a purpose, but at the end of the day, it is just that, a role he’s playing, “Hamlet o more
