I just wonder how to use Hungarian noble names abroad, especially in English speaking countries, in order to indicate your noble status, but without being too pretentious. And how to deal with the Western-Hungarian name order problem. (In Hun garian fisrt comes the territorial designations, then title, then surname and then given names.) Also, should we translate the rank/title e.g. Gróf-Count? For example, let's use a fictional, but typical name: hátszeghi és rétközi gróf Hátszeghy László It could beeither Count László Hátszeghy de Hátszegh et Rétköz or keeping the Hungarian way but put given name first: László hátszeghi és rétközi gróf Hátszeghy However these variations above are too long and would complicate eveyrday life. So please tell me which one would you use of the list below. László gróf Hátszeghy or László Gróf Hátszeghy (Would English speakers recognize that gróf/Gróf is a title like Graf (Count) in German? And if yes, with upper or lower case?) Or would you use only one territorial designation, but which one? That one which basically repeats your surname or the different one? László Hátszeghy de Hátszegh or László Hátszeghy de Rétköz or would use just a German or Latin/French nobility prefix, which sometimes are used with a surname, but in my opinion a bit alien to the Hungarian naming system: László von Hátszeghy or László de Hátszeghy Thanks for your help. moreVoting Question: Help with some homework?

Ok, for about the last month, we've been getting calls from an 888-prefix phone number. The people all have an Indian accent. They always ask for my husband, saying they are from an online pharmacy and they need his billing information to "process his order". I smell a total scam, especially since last night I answered and said I was his wife, he wasn't available, and was there anything I could help with. The guy started in with his spiel, and I said we had never placed an order with an online pharmacy so they must have the wrong person. He said, "no ma'am your husband has ordered Viagra and Cialis!" I thought this was hilarious since my husband is only 30 and trust me, does NOT need either medication! I know he would tell me if he was having problems in that area and he is certainly more responsible than to order it online from a foreign country. I told them to please take our number off their list and was told "that's not possible". Now just today they've called again-I asked why since we'd requested they not call us, we're not interested, etc. and the man said "It is none of your business!" I said, "it is my home you are calling, and my children you are waking from their naps, so yes, it is my business!" I asked for a supervisor and he goes, "well I don't have a supervisor....I mean, um...I AM the supervisor." Yeah freaking right. Who are these people and why are they calling us so incessantly? It is up to 3 or 4 times a day now at odd hours, to boot! My husband has tried talking to them, refusing to give his billing info, and I've tried. It has reached the point of harassment, in my opinion, but I don't know what to do! Is there like a, phone harassment bureau or something? moreResolved Question: Excel VBA/Macro Question?

I'm using Visual Basic, Visual Studio 2008. I just got out of my VB class in college, so I'm very new to this. Basically the project I'm making is a little flashcard/drilling program. It reads in a list of words that are stored in an array of classes that I built and it randomly selects five of those words and I have to press the button that is associated with the word it's currently displaying. I started out having all of the buttons on a Groupbox that I kept on my Main form (startup form). I'd leave that groupbox disabled and invisible until I press the button to "Start Playing", when it would then be enabled and the "game" would start. This works perfectly and I've tested it for a while and it keeps on going like it's supposed to. Well, then I thought to myself, "I'd rather have this stuff on a separate form, rather than in a groupbox that I switch on and off". So I cut-and-pasted the whole groupbox, since all of the necessary controls were inside of it, and I made a new form and put the groupbox on there. I also dragged along all of the event procedures that I needed. Then I went back through the code (I had all of the game functions and procedures in a separate module) and edited the "frmMain." qualifier to be "frmMultipleSelect.", which would be the new name of the form I was using for this game. After I did that, the procedures in my module would no longer update the text on the buttons on frmMultipleSelect. I used to have the Text property blank and randomly assign words to the Text property, but this random assignment never happened and the buttons remained blank when I booted up the program. I was confused so I cut-and-pasted the stuff back into frmMain, and what do you know, it works perfectly again. I was searching through the code and, theoretically, the only change that should have mattered would have been the qualifying prefix, the name of the form the controls were on, and I changed those. In my watch screen, I set Visual Studio to watch what the value is on "frmMultipleSelect.btnOne.Text" and it said "reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference". This is the only error message or indicator that I have. Could anyone point me in the right direction as to what's going on? The new form and all of its controls should have been Public and out and available, and yet there seems to be a problem with accessing them. Sorry for the amount of text. Thanks for reading. :) moreResolved Question: How do I prefix a string of text to a list of words using a unix command?

Consider how much CO2 we produce and that just to make it easyer to work out that it all comes from complete combustion of methane (over estimating). (2.85*10^16)g of carbon devided by 44g (1 mol of CO2)= 6.48*10^14 mols of carbon which= moles of methane So (6.48*10^14)*889 KJ/mol = 5.76*10^17 KJ or 5.76*10^2 Zetta joules a year A watt is a joule per secound so (5.76*10^20)/(3.16*10^7)= 1.83*10^13 watts Now think about when you use energy anywhere, if it dosen't go to potential energy then it ends up in the environment, friction heat light etc.. The sun gives us 1,368 W/m^2 (average? dunno i just picked it up from the site i linked) which times by the area of lit side of earth 2.55*10^15 m2 = 3.49*10^18 watts So thats a over estimated potential of 1.83*10^13 watts we could put into the environment and 3.49*10^18 watts from the sun. http://www.windows2universe.org/earth/climate/sun_radiation_at_earth.html&link=/tour/link=/help/faq.html http://physics.nist.gov/cuu/Units/prefixes.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_of_combustion http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_carbon_dioxide_emissionsYes i have nothing better do do than pointless number crunching =P moreResolved Question: Where can I find a list of Latin prefixes/suffixes and what they mean?

Hi I need to make a spreadsheet that is confusing the hell out of me. Basically i have i have a list of items. for instance fast dagger of agility, antique club of hitting, shining knife of valour. now these items can be merged together to make a new item. eg. antique club of hitting merged with shining knife of valour makes murderous dagger of ancestors. What i would like is in row 1 have 3 drop down lists. the first list will have the prefix of the item i,e antique, shining, fast. the second drop down list will contain the items i.e club, knife, dagger. and the 3rd drop down will contain the suffix of the item i'e valour, hitting, agility. row 2 will contain the same lists row 3 will give me the answers So the idea is i pick an item from the lists in row 1 and 2 and then in row 3 it looks up what these items make if merged together and it gives me the result. I have lists like below that give the answers To make Fast Fast + Cursed = Fast Cursed + Valour = Fast Antique + Mruderous = Fast I can do the drop down lists but its getting excel to work out the results which i cant do.
