Resolved Question: Who is the asian dancing group in the "Somebody to Love" music video by Justin Beiber?
They have Pink fans and black shoes with Pink laces...I'm assuming they were on America's Dance Crew like the Beat Freaks but I can't pin the asian girls.. moreOpen Question: what does modern rock n roll have in common with?
rock n roll of the past! (it was started exclusively by blacks and that was long before white america accepted it.) jazz still sounds like jazz! (few if any white singers) r and b still sounds like r and b!(few if any white singers) the blues still sound like blues!(few if any white singers) soul still sounds like soul (few if any white singers) but rock n roll has been hijacked by these white thieves and destroyed...at what point did yelling at the top of your lungs into the microphone become music?.when did playing the guitar and drums without a beat become music? the sad thing about it is if you ask anyone of the older white groups (the rolling stones, the Beatles, robert townsend etc...) they will tell you that they were trying to emulate James brown, fats domino and jackie wilson etc....and that's the best that they could do! i mean what were they hearing that they come up with this shhitt...in their minds it's rock n roll but to blacks i'm sure it sounds like garbage or at the very least lil kids beating on pots and pans! what a joke! lets pray that they don't mess with r and b..jazz the blues or soul and try and take it over and destroy that to...that would be a real shame! moreResolved Question: Were you worried for that girl after the ArcAttack performance on America's Got Talent on Aug. 24?
It's the technology music group with the electricity. The show was amazing and they had a girl in a cage and the electricity was zapping around her, and at the end she walked out like a zombie. But after, when the judges were saying their comments, that girl really didn't look right. She looked all out of it, and the guys had to help her with her equilibrium. And whenever the judges and the host tried to get a comment from her, she just kept saying "brains". I know it's likely an act that she was doing, but I was genuinely concerned that she wasn't right - maybe from all the electricity zapping near her. Did anybody else feel the same?? moreResolved Question: Best Country when it comes to Rock Music 70s-80s?
When it comes to the 1970s I think the Americans win again Boston Styx REO Speedwagon Kansas Journey Alice Cooper Billy Joel Chicago Cheap Trick Aerosmith Heart Blue Oyster Cult (all of which had huge hits in the 1980s as well) Blondie The Cars James Taylor Carole King Lynryd Skynryd The Allman Brothers The Doobie Brothers Eagles The Marshal Tucker Band Steve Miller Band Grand Funk Railroad (ALOTTT Heavier than Black Sabbath in their earlier days... but they went soft XD) KISS (also had huge hits in the 80s) The Ramones (pretty much started PUNK.... Stooges and MC5 were just inspiration in my opinion) Fleetwood MAC (which is actually an American/British band... most of the songs were written by Stevie Nicks and Buckingham... all though Mcvie wrote alot of the music too.. also their biggest hits were written by the Americans as well... and they only came to fame WHEN the Americans joined) America.. which is actually a UK based band full of Americans who lived in military families Just to name a few XD VS Led Zeppelin (probably the biggest British band of the decade.. also started in the late 60s) Deep Purple Black Sabbath (started doom metal) Judas Priest (were huge in the 80s too) Motorhead Queen Elton John (I think Billy Joel is better overall... but Elton John wrote some extremely amazing music) ELO Pink Floyd Supertramp Wings Genesis Jethro Tull YES David Bowie T. Rex NOW when it comes to the 80s.. I have to give it to the Americans again Guns N Roses Van Halen (also a 70s band.. but I think they were bigger in the 80s.) Motley Crue RATT Quiet Riot Warrant White Lion (it actually had a Danish musician if I am not mistaken) Bon Jovi Bruce Springsteen (who was also huge in the 70s) Twisted Sister Poison Cinderella Joan Jett (part of the Runaways.. a Punk Rock group in the 70s) Lita Ford (also part of the Runaways.. she was British born.. but became American at 4 if I am not mistaken) David Lee Roth (part of Van Halen.. but also went solo) Pat Benatar ZZ Top (also big in the 70s) DIO Metallica Slayer Megadeth Overkill Exodus Anthrax Testament Joe Satriani Steve Vai just to name some of them VS Ozzy Osbourne (part of Black Sabbath but went solo) Def Leppard (which I think is the best British band of the 1980s) Whitesnake (originaly members of Deep Purple I think???) Iron Maiden Dire Straits The Cure (which I would name Alternative Rock American bands.. but that would create a much much larger list.. hAHA) Saxon thats really about it ha (unless we start talking about POP music.. but thats a different thing.. I am only including ROCK)PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you havent answered for 50-60s.. and 90-00s please go to my profile and answer them :) moreVoting Question: Is there anything wrong with society today? or even america?
Lots of people are saying that society is going to hell in a handbasket, but look at history. 1000 years ago - Crusades, black death, subjugation by the church. 500 years ago - Slavery, mass genocide, reshaping of political boundries (by war). Revolutions (England) 200 years ago - civil war, multiple revolutions (french, US), industrial filth, poverty. 100 years ago - two world wars, russian revolution, Gangsters (not todays wannabe's i'm talking Mafia, triads, Al Capone) depression. 50 years ago - Vietnam, Cold war, junkies, drugs, sex, good rock music. 20 years ago - Gulf war, computer controversy, millennium doomsday prediction, today - Bad pop music, obesity, a few groups of people being dumb, political division. Those can hardly count as "wrong" when compared to just a few years ago. Why are people making such a big hype out of it. moreResolved Question: Who really controls the messages that we read and listen to everyday?
Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity rail against the "liberal media". But what media are they referring to?? These radio hosts are, in large part, broadcasted by ClearChannel. ClearChannel also carries most of the broad casts for other hosts on Air America. They also carry "Keep Hope Alive" by Jesse Jackson and "The Steve Harvey Show". In fact, outside of conservative talk radio, ClearChannel carries many broadcasts for urban music radio stations. Strangely enough, most urban stations constantly repeat catch phrases promoting a reduction in local crime, such as "peace on the streets", but then invest large amounts of airtime to artists that promote violence. Getting back to my original question: Which "liberal media" are Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity referring to? Any entity that fails to parrot there reactionary ideology? Or are they pointing a finger toward a very large media entity of which they themselves knowingly play a role in supporting? Is it all about a liberal or conservative media or a small group of large conglomerates that broadcast conflicting messages in order to achieve social control and maintain cultural hegemony? Furthermore, is the conservative media little more than a carefully devised social construct? moreResolved Question: which "cities" in america has visible indian (referring to ethnic groups from india) communities?
im not racist so dont assume that; i just want to know where more indians live; where r there more indians, there will be indian entertainment places such as music, restaurant, indian provision store, etc; moreVoting Question: What happened to America?
I spoke to some Americans, watched some classical movies, listened to some classic American music and got some facst about upper class America some times back. Most Americans also told me that students use to be a respected group in the states before the hippy revolution. Coincidentally, I met a hippy while travelling around Asia and found her to be someone with little intelligence who thought with her heart and felt with it as well. She did crazy things like peeing in public (for a woman!). I asked her why and she said because the human beings body is beautiful and that if she's free to do so, then why not. I asked her if she had no decency but she got angry at that. The Americans I met and my vision I had of the country, even though I've never been there, was that is changed a lot. From a good sophisticated, high class nation to a nation that still advances but has no decency. It's like things went from perfect to just plain old sloppy. Also, American women always find East Asian women very skinny and appealing (and, obviously so do the American men) but American women looked that way during the old days as well. What happened? moreResolved Question: Why do American Businesses refuse to assocaite themselves with Glenn Beck?

I was watching a show where Kevin from U Kiss seemed sad because they hadn't made it big on the American music charts like Wonder Girls. Then I think he said it was everyone groups dream to hit the American charts. moreResolved Question: Are you looking for a new band to love?
I just feel like posting this song somewhere. The band is Electric Light Orchestra, or ELO. I hadn't heard of them until about a year ago and was shocked about what great music I had been missing. They're a pop/rock group from the 70s. What I like is that they mixed a classical/orchestral sound into their music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tJNABQnqBo They have a ton of great songs. A few more to listen to are -Mr. Blue Sky -Turn To Stone -Strange Magic -Do Ya -Calling America So yeah, check them out. moreResolved Question: Band name help?????? Who sang this song?
I was listening to the radio one day and heard a rock song that I like. Nice gentle music. All I know is that they a group of I think 2 brothers, but not to sure how many. (how many there is, there all brothers) I think they came out in the 90's and still play today. I know they have travelled to New Zealand a few years back and are from America. The song that i heard from what i remember goes like this: 'this is the world that I know' Or 'It's the world that i know' Does anyone know what the group or song is called? Any help appreciated. No sorry nickleback my fav band and know them inside and out. But thanks to anyone who tries moreResolved Question: Who do you think will be the 4 that go through tonight on America's Got Talent?
Of all the performers, who do you think will be the 4 that America gives the most votes? There were a lot of good ones last night. Doogie Horner is the brother of one of my best friends, so I'm really hoping he makes it. I think he did great last night. And if you've seen his Helium Club performances on youtube, you know he has such potential. My other picks are: Anna and Patryck - I mean... they're 12. They're just so impressive, and America loves kids who do things Prince Poppycock - he is unusual and original, and I can see him in Vegas Arcattack - they're really cool, and could be an awesome Vegas show. But, if they had to go outside for last night, how can they be performers INSIDE Ceasers Palace? Why I don't like the rest: Da Maniacs - They were good dancers, but anyone can dance like that with practice. Nothing special, and I wouldn't buy tickets to see them preform in Vegas. Nu Covenant - They just didn't sound good. Lindsey Sterling - The violin didn't match the music at all, the music was so loud I couldn't even hear the violin loud enough, and the dancers stole the show more than she did. Its cute and unique, but she should have had maybe upbeat piano music, or just something without singing. Just, no. Rudy McGaggi - this is one of the tough ones. He speaks to the crowd just like a Vegas performer, and is an impressive Vegas act. But he only did one thing, and there are just much more impressive things in Vegas. I'm on the fence with him though. Taylor Matthews - He's really cute, and has an awesome voice. But people don't go to Vegas shows to see someone sing without some kind of show with it, unless they're a famous group or something. Again though, I'm on the fence with him.... another tough call. Mary Ellen - She is a sweetheart, and lives an hour from my hometown apparently, but no. She kept singing away from the mic, and seemed to mess up a lot both on vocals and the piano. Strikers All Stars - I have a lot of issues with them. First off, they stole most of their dance moves last night from other contestants on Americas Best Dance Crew (which Strikers All Stars was also on). Also, dancers should NOT win Americas Got Talent. They just shouldn't. But the fact that their moves were stolen from other crews on ABDC disappointed me a lot. So tell me, what do you think?Man?? I'm a girl : / And why is it a funny question...Oh, and I forgot about that magician. Yeah, it was a good trick. But honestly... how many magicians do we need in Las Vegas? And if you're not better than Criss Angel, go away. moreVoting Question: What four acts on America's Got Talent do you think will go through tomorrow?!?
Which four acts will make it through? Also, how good was that show tonight?!! Here are my picks: 1) The Magician with the tiger 2) The Electricity music group 3) The Guitar Singer 4) Prince PopeycockI myself should get the 10 points best answer because I was absolutely right!! moreResolved Question: Can anyone help me pick out a good career that would fit or be best for me?
Well, im a young guy here, 13 years old, and i don't know what career i should do. So in order for you all to help me i guess i'll give you some background on what i like to do and such. In sports im pretty talented/decent, but there are some defects to playing football. Such as my height and my size. So it can be a pain for me sometimes, and sometimes i don't feel like i can go fully commit to playin football compared to my other choices. So i'm not sure about playing football and doing a sports career. Here's a video i found of me playing on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKLOuF4AwL0 I love music :) Especially K pop, and im very inspired by 2 k pop idol groups (SHINee & SNSD) and 1 k pop idol (Sunny from SNSD), Reasons why im inspired is because they have so much fun doing what they like to do, they're always together, always happy, always supportive of each other, they look out for one another, they care for each other, and as for me i don't have much fun playing football half the times and no one really supports me in playing sports. I hope to be like them one day, here in America, or even go to Korea and do K pop too. If you don't know who those idol groups are here are a couple of videos of them :) ill add in my fav. idol Sunny too :) SHINee - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1HAazRvDP4 SNSD - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7mPqycQ0tQ Sunny of SNSD - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2_eQ5euWiY So yeah, i know this isn't very good information and you may not be able to help me much, but giving me some answers and what you think i would do best in would help me out a little, because im stuck between those two really. I don't know which i should do :\ so i wish you all could help me out a little ^_^ moreResolved Question: would someone check my grammar?
The regions such as Mexico, South America, Central America and Caribbean that have experienced colonial influence and the massive migration of black American, the process of producing music can be determine by observing their geographic and demographic content. The geographic factors for these regions such as the colonial or political influence, the immigrant people often describe as Maroon culture and the ethnic group of people or aboriginal living in the isolated island contributes to the musical production and the distinction of their culture. However, the problem of classifying and identifying certain individual culture is due to the multi cultural system that have been established. moreResolved Question: Popular boy band and girl groups around the world?
I would like to discover some new groups to listen to. Currently, I pretty much know all of the Korean boy bands and girl groups because that's what got me hooked on the music (mainly Super Junior and SNSD). I've tried looking up some boy bands in America but I just didn't like them. The best one I found was Varsity Fanclub, but I only found one decent song. If you have any suggestions for me of groups that have been successful recently, that would be helpful. I don't care where they're from or what language they speak, but I like upbeat, energetic songs. moreVoting Question: Does America destroy a nationality's/ethnic group's culture/traditions?
A Chinese, Greek or Russian in those countries are more intact with their culture and traditions. You just see it in their weddings for example. The dances, the traditional food music etc etc...The foundation of their family and relatives are so much more stronger than when they become American. But for some reason, America takes all that away. They become a workaholic credit card spending robot. 50% divorce and they careless to be family oriented. You barely see home traditional food cooked and family dinner parites etc. If it happens, its like once a year max. The weddings for example become boring with default food and "modern" music. moreResolved Question: Is there such a thing as an African America Culture.?
My Definition of a culture is a group of people that form a collective and that share a common language, music, fashion, beliefs, ethics etc. The commonalities cause cultures to be cohesive,...that is stick together and stay together as a collective. African Americans are found in every state of the USA from Alaska to Main. Those of New Orleans are different from the city slick LA or Harlem "blacks". The African Americans of the Southern states, descended from the share croppers have very different ways to the likes of President Obama or those from the Northern states. Each is distinctly different from it's "white" European counterpart. But, are these just regional variations or is there such a thing as an African American culture. moreResolved Question: Korean Contradictions?
Why is it that in some korean people (i'm just specifying koreans becuase i've noticed this in my newfound love for kpop) harbor such rediculously contradictory opinions? here are a few that i've noticed: they like stereotypical black culture, but lots of them don't like blacks they like it when male kpop idols act extremely feminine, but they don't like gays they want their women to be stick skinny and perfect looking, but they despise plastic surgery they are firmly against racism against koreans or asians in general, but they tend to be racist against americans and black people (or people that have darker skin) they thin they go around and insult different american artists and have no one have a problem with it, but if you diss a group like snsd, they go crazy they listen to american music and tend to like american things, but they hate america, and are always cruely dissing american artists i always hear that koreans love having white friends and such, but apparently they really don't like white people? those are just a few. i know that not all koreans are like this, it's just a few tendencies that i've noticed in my aformentioned new found love of kpop. to korean people, or anyone that wants to answer, why are these contradictions so prevalent, and how do korean people feel about them? are they proud of these things, or do some of them look down on it? i was just wondering becuase, well, honestly, lots of comments i've found on a few websites (forums, youtube, allkpop, etc.) suggest that these contradictions are seen as ok. . to everyone, please don't be offended, i love korean culture (well most of it) and the people seem nice. i still noticed these contradictions tho. srry. btw, i know that there is a difference in these things depending on whether or not someone's korean american or born and raised in korea. again, not trying to offende people. and please, no ignorant answers, i'm not fishing for a fight with people. :) moreResolved Question: this type of people and their censorship is exactly what OBama now embraces?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100722/ap_en_ot/ml_palestinians_boney_m This is not a stretch. This comes from the same folks who want Sharia Law in the United States. Funny though, the NOW people support the groups that wish to take away women's rights. Remember, it was Tipper Gore (as left as it gets) who wanted to control music in America. OBama loves him some Palestinians and hates Israel (our ally). Hmmmmm..... moreResolved Question: Question about Music?
Okay I tried for church choir and I didn't make it. I don't know where to start I love to sing but I want to start I can't start at American Idol because i'm to young. America's got Talent isn't serious enough. My mom will respect my decision as long as i'm happy with i'm doing. She said to me try going to New York next year cause were going and try for Universal. That kinda scared me because i'm kinda shy. Then suggested go in a girl group like the OMG Girlz. So what should I do listen to my mom, if not then give me a option. Please help i'm a confused teen. moreVoting Question: Why are African-Americans so smart, creative, and resilient?
Out fore parents started out in America as slaves. It was against the law for us to read, write, congregate in groups. Yet today, some of the richest people in America are African-Americans. We have some of the best collages, we create the best music (Motown or the Motown Sound), Oprah upgraded the talk show genre. We set trends and styles. All of this and much more is accomplished by people who began in the West as slaves. moreResolved Question: Americans, how would you feel if a foreign group debuted in America?
In Korea, there are many groups that are extremely popular now a days. They go over seas for promotions and soon plan to make it big, internationally. That includes the U.S. However, these "idol groups" are mere puppets of their companies. They DO NOT write their own lyrics. They do NOT produce/compose none of it. They also do not come up with their own dance moves. So my question is would you accept a group that doesn't even write their own music? There is a girl group in Korea that are popular for their catchy music and funky dance moves but they don’t even write their music. And they have so many fans. It’s insane. Would they make it big in the States?Oh and I forget to mention, this certain girl group can't even sing well. They have like one lead vocalist. And I think they only have fans because they are "pretty." It's so unfair to the real artists to be overshadowed by them. moreResolved Question: Are you worried about the growing muslim population?
This question is in NO WAY intended as hate of any kind, I'm just trying to start a debate. We all know that the "white Western Catholic race" is not re-populating as quickly as the Muslim race (ie. you typically see 1-2 kids in white families and maybe 5-6 in Muslim). Some people are worried that because the Muslims are populating like mice, they will take over the world and turn everything into Islamic law as they believe. I'm not sure personally how I feel about this, but I am slowly trying to see the trends. Some of the questions I wonder about are: 1. Do you think young muslims (ie kids of immigrants born in North America) grow up with the same fundamentalist/extremist islamic views? or do they assimilate as they grow amongst a diverse group in high schools, colleges etc? - as a recent college student, I can tell you that each college has it's own student clubs and religious clubs. And even though young muslims may grow up in our Western liberal world of freedom of speech, MTV, and pop concerts, there are still 20 year olds who are deeply against the Western view of life. 2. Do you think it is plausible that Islam could take over North America as political law? - I think it is possible because we live in a democracy so thus "the majority wins", so imagine all of a sudden 75% of the population is Muslim and they vote in their own senators/congressman, etc. With time, it could happen. - my fear of Islam is that the people (even the 20 year olds I knew in college) may be exposed and grow up in the exact environment as I did but their fundamentalist doctrine and hate is so embedded in them, that they see nothing but religion; if Islam became law, I would fear for the destruction of our society, not only morally and ethically, but also our innovation, culture, arts. I don't see the muslims supporting art programs or popular music or reality television or shopping malls. They would start saying that everything is anti allaha so it must be abolished. We would basically become a useless deserted continent like the Middle east. Things that make me feel better though, are that those families of 8 Muslim kids can hardly support themselves and those kids rarely make it to college or "amount to anything" where they could have some power or say about our laws. Anyway, this was ignited after reading Infidel and talking to colleagues in my PoliSci class. Discuss! So I guess my follow up question is, What do we do about it?And I guess my third question is: how does one peacefully exempt these people from coming into our country in a "democratic" place....where theoretically everyone is welcome? But I 100% agree with one answer which said that they are just "putting up with us". If muslims gained majority, there would be no "democracy" because they would NOT allow freedom for expression or belief of anything non-muslim. So it's like our "democratic" system is just screwing us. If we had the balls to define human right and to punish or prevent anything that goes against human rights, then Muslims could be either terminated or forced to leave. When is someone going to stand up and realize that what is preached in the mosques in North America constitutes "hate crime" and a threat to human liberty? moreResolved Question: EMBARRASSING moments ! There is a german rock group called Rummstein that wrote a song and turned it into a rock video for europe's MTV warning the world about the evils of America's cultural influences. Catch the irony? A rock group singing a rock song on a rock video on MTV, warning about the evil influences of America's culture. Where do these jackasses think that rock n roll, music videos and MTV came from? And in the meantime... in Canada, a comic by the name of Guy Earle is being taken before a tribunal on charges that he hurt the feelings of a lesbian by telling an off color joke. Any german rock groups singing about that? Any? Any german even knows about it? I'm sure if it were happening in America (Amerika, as they like to spell it now) they would all know about it. I'm not such a pro-American, but I do know irrationality when I see it. And it scares the hell out of me what I'm seeing. I honestly don't see how the human race can survive this level of irrationality. The anti-American is taking us direct into a new Dark Age! moreResolved Question: Is Justin Bieber Racist?
As a lot of you know, there is a voting competition going on for some music groups. For this "Justin Bieber" kid, the most voted country for him was North Korea. And for some reason he himself is having trouble going there. Why? I can see no reason as to why you can't go into North Korea. America has students that go there and North Korea has students that come here as well. My only conclusion is that Justin Bieber is racist towards Asians, Yellow People, Rice Pickers, whatever you want to call them. This is truly a concern for me, only because I have a small sister who listens to Justin Bieber's music, and even though I think his music is utter shit, I don't want my sister listening to someone who is a racist. Has he done this before with other competitions or Events? moreResolved Question: Are young Korean music superstars financially wealthy?
I am referring to major music artists such as members of successful music groups such Super Junior, DBSK, 2PM, SS501, etc but mostly those that are concentrated in Asia and are not internationally known such as BoA. I have read that the music companies that these music groups belong to mostly exploit the members to make money, which is typical of any entertainment company, but the question is whether or not these members get their fair share of the wealth? In America, music superstars become millionaires and are set for life, could the same be said about Korean music stars? moreResolved Question: Do I love him? Please help!?
Okay, so it all started off when one American guy added me on facebook from a music group we both liked, we got chatting about the world cup and bands and soon a few of his friends added me randomly. One, called Dan spoke to me alot and I was suprised to find we have a lot in common. At first it wasn't anything of significance, I found him attractive but he lives in America and I in Wales. Soon we were speaking a few times a day and he told me he liked and I was shocked that I infact liked him back. He wants to know everything about me as I do him and next thing I know.. I've fallen in love with him.. big time. He says he loves me too and says things such as "Do you believe in soul mates? I believe I've found mine, and its crazy how she is you." I believe every word he says and although many will argue I'm naive, I've been in a long term relationship before and I know what love feels like. I feel depressed when I can't speak to him and I listen to really sad love songs and write sad songs and watch soppy films, but when he talks to me.. I feel alive. I can't describe it. I know long distance isn't impossible and I am moving to Edmonton in Canada this coming September but do I love him? Or am I just smitten? Please help :/ I can't take much more of this. I've wanted to speak to him all day on skype but he isn't on right now and its unbelieve how awful I feel :/ thanks x moreResolved Question: What are my chances for Northwestern, University of Michigan, or Johns Hopkins?

To save us from our addiction to fossil fuel, Here is my 10-step plan for making America bicycle friendly and better: Step 1: Permanently Close Interstate highways like I-95, I-90, I-25, whichever highway you drive.... We will transform these into very long bike trails made from cobble stone. Step 2: We will have French artists construct and paint impressionist walls around the edges of the new bike trails, situated where interstate highways and expressways used to be located. Step 3: We will narrow the highways by planting lots of trees and new plants to go with the French walls and make it like a stroll in a national park sort of Step 4: We will have either speakers or musical chamber groups playing European folk music along the paths and some of what used to be highway exit ramps will be transformed into French restaurant cafes that will be subsidized by US Government so poor people can afford to eat at them. Step 5: Everyone will pay bicycle toll fees for every .5 miles of pedaling on these former highways to maintain the cobblestone. When you enter the bikeway, you'll receive an old-fashioned train card and each .5 miles the whole way across America you get hole-punchers to mark your payment on a declining balance card. Step 6: For an additional fee, there will be cable cars that run alongside the bike paths at various segments with chiming bells like in muni system in San Francisco. Step 7: There will be some drive-in movie theaters showing French foreign films with English subtitles on some of the bikeway walls along what once was I-95. Step 8: There will be fruit markets, diary markets, textile mills, computer manufacturing parts, rubber sillystring producing markets, toy steam engine manufacturing plants, gelato, free crepes, all these goodies along the long bike paths from Maine to Florida, or Minnesota to Texas, or Massachusetts to Seattle. Step 9: There will be marching bands and parades many a times and some roller coasters that share some of the bikeways, and some corn stands Step 10: No McDonalds allowed, no fastfood allowed on these streets, no Walmarts allowed....and there will be signs painted into the cobblestones on the ground about a utopian society and some local Govt-run and family-run free healthcare clinics where you don't have to pay anything extra..... This would be a whole new America! No more interstate highways, a WHOLE NEW American system of bikeways where highways used to be moreResolved Question: Where did all of the backstreet boys fans go?
They're huge in South America, Europe, and Asia but in the U.S / Canada it's a different story. I remember when they were one of the most famous pop groups in the world and you couldn't turn on a radio without hearing one of their songs. But times have changed and now people refuse to acknowledge that they are STILL MAKING MUSIC AND TOURING. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twVcLUgTRlg So my question is... if you were once a backstreet boys fan, why did you stop listening to their music? moreResolved Question: Does America want a classy girl group BAND?

I am a believer in the idea that art is a powerful thing, and that it has the power to stop wars, to push the limits of human acheivement, and bring people together across national, cultural, ethnic, class, religious, & racial lines There was actually a book written (i forget who wrote it) titled " Why Hip Hop cannot save America". I think the author of the book had caught onto a growing feeling that Hip Hop, a cultural, musical, & dance phenomenon created in the African-American community, had gained a great cross over appeal, espescially among youth. Hip Hop has been responsible for many young people who have nothing in common, coming together to celebrate their love of Hip Hop music & dance. Some cross over artists include Eminem (Rap), Robin Thicke (RnB), Lady Sovreign (Rap), Jin (Rap), Justin Bieber (Rap), M.I.A [Indian] (rap) etc (all of whom are white, except mia ) In the dance world, crews form that regularly include members of different races & classes. The most prominent of which is the dance group Jabbawockeez--an American street dance crew consisting of African-American, Fillipino, Korean, Vietnamese & Mexican members _____________________________________ The reach of Hip Hop extends outside America as well, there are thriving Hip Hop music & dance scenes in countries like Japan, United Kingdom, Australia, Phillipines, China, & Brazil. Okay, so I'm 14, I'm a soprano and I love theatre. Everyone says my voice is amazing. I can go past a high D, despite my age. I'm in theatre, and I take voice lessons every week. My theatre group is CYT (Christian Youth Theatre), the most advanced youth theatre program in America. I've been in more shows than anyone else has, and when I sing, most people just stare at me with their mouths open (I really don't want to sound conceided but it's true...). I was in our production of The Music Man, and I played all the high high melody. Basically, I can go really high. I've recorded myself and I sound great. The thing is, I've never even gotten a real part and I don't know why. Heck, I've never even gotten a callback! I really want to ask my director why I'm not getting a chance, but I don't want to sound like a brat...My mom says I won't because people come up to her and ask her that all the time, but I still think I might sound rude. I don't know why I can't get a good part. I've been in more shows than anyone else, I'm an awesome singer, an awesome actor, a adequately good dancer (although when I can dancing parts, I do struggle at first but I get it right in the end, I'm taking dance classes), I get good grades, am really nice and kind to everyone, I've never let anyone down with a part, in fact, when I do get a better part, the director always hugs me and tells me I do an amazing job, I get miked when I'm in the ensemble because they need strong singers, I'm not ugly, I'm in the lower-normal range of weight. I have a round, average looking face but pretty eyes and lips. So I can't figure out why I can't get a good part. How can I ask her without sounding rude? Oh! And we're really close, she doesn't hate me, we hug all the time.george: ...what? I'm actually more what I write here, I could write that but I don't want to because is sounds conceided. And when did I say I want to pursue a career in theatre? This is a YOUTH theatre program I do for fun, I want to get into video production, and editing. And how dare you tell someone they shouldn't follow their dreams! Horrible. moreResolved Question: Could you help me with my composition?
I'm from South America, and I'm taking English classes at the CPE level. The proposal is to write a formal letter to my principal talking about how he/she should spend money in my school's issues and possible solutions. I have to write more 70 words...Could anybody help me to write and correct it? To whom it might concern, Thank you for the report and for this amazing attitude. Even though our school has lots of aspects that could be improved or at least solved, the point at issue is what is best for learning. Once that we live in the age of technology, the fact that the computers available for student's use are so old and so obsolete in unacceptable. Computers are no so expensive nowadays, and it would be really helpful in our researches and home works. It would also be useful in the communication between school's staff and the students, a website could be created in order to facilitate this communication. I regret to inform you that this is not the only problem that we are facing: the lack of motivation is not affecting only the students, but also the teachers. If our school's atmosphere were more pleasant every single person that works in this school would be more motivated. Teachers would teach in a more efficient way and we would learn in an even more efficient way. In order to solve the mentioned issue I suggest some extra-classes activities, such as drama courses, reading groups, music and dancing classes and also the availability to study with teacher outside classes to solve our doubts. (...) Thank you moreVoting Question: For fans of Rap, Hip Hop, R& B, etc: Is Hip Hop dead?
I read about the history of Hip Hop, a genre of music & dance that originated in the Bronx created for the purposes of articulating the struggles of a marginalized group. Hip Hop, at it's very core, been an artform of the lower classes. Hip hop is a tool of the downtrodden, not just in America, but in other parts of the world. Atleast, that was what DJ Kool Herc & Afrika Bambataa (it's creators) wanted it to be. In America atleat, all it does it entertain, the only mainstream artist i can think of who comes close to doing real Hip Hop is Kanye West Real Hip Hop: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA_xXWSXyFI&feature=related moreResolved Question: DBSK fans :) What do you think of JYJ's American collab?
http://www.allkpop.com/2010/06/jaechunsu-to-join-forces-with-kanye-west-timbaland I'm excited!! JaeChunSu's collaborating with Kanye West & Timbaland? That's so unexpected! What's it going to sound like? I'm SO curious about that! But I'm pretty sure it's going to be... big. I really don't like Kanye as a person & I'm not a fan of his or Timbaland's music but I have to admit that both of them are talented. & paired with JaeChunSu, who are like the epitome of talent ~ Gah, I can't even fathom how different & amazing their sound is going to be! I think I would seriously die if they became popular in America. It'd be the best thing ever. & hopefully somehow, DBSK can get back together after this & all 5 can become big artists here! With Jay collaborating with B.o.B. & GD with Flo Rida, it's really giving me optimism that the Hallyu wave will FINALLY reach over to the states! Who else agrees? OMG, how awesome would it be if k-pop came to America?! That means seeing our favorite idols on actual channels on American TV (& not just on youtube!) & TOURS!! :DD Oh, & what group do you think has the potential to make it in the US? & I mean becoming HUGE here. I went on youtube and, as an avid Hip Hop dance/music junkie, decided to take an online tour of Hip Hop communities around the world. I was a little taken aback by just how popular Hip Hop is. I am in Adv. Placement US history and as a side project we are doing a project on music and how it effected our social culture in America. I understand that Techno was not laregely an American movement and seems to be more so focussed in Germany from what i've read. But i need to know how it effected our culture from the 60's-90's. No new techno. Just older stuff. I need to have three focus bands and they are Kraftwerk (they were a German group who seem like one of the founders of Techno). Yaz/Yazoo (they made it big in America). Plus i'm stuck between Orbital and The Prodigy. Any help would be amazing. I'm stuck on this question. moreResolved Question: What's a good summary of 70's music?
For my A.P. U.S. History class, we got to choose a decade to do a presentation on. We chose the 80's, but then got booted down by another group to the 70's (even better - no rap or hip hop). I'm doing the "music" section, so here's the question. As much as I love music from this era, what's a good summary of 70's music? I know that punk became popular in the mid-70's and, I think, it started off mainly in Great Britain (the Sex Pistols) and then jumped over to America, symbolizing rebellion and things of that nature. I also thought about Led Zep, Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, The Who, and Queen (including other bands that helped spark 80's metal). I wrote down other artists like Johnny Cash (mainly "Man In Black" from 1971) and Blondie and the Sex Pistols for their punk music. I'm pretty sure disco was a big hit in the 70's as well, but was it all throughout the 70's or just parts of it (disco ranging from the Bee Gee's "Staying Alive" to KISS' "I Was Made For Loving You"). Thanks if you can help a fellow music lover out :)Haha, thanks progdoc moreVoting Question: Good Spanish music...?
