Open Question: What malware is responsible with fake login in bank website?

Hi, When I login to online banking, it will usually ask user name, then a security question, then password with a security image displayed. Now, when I click login, there is a box for you to fill up your account number, PIN, expiration date.. LOL! I remembered my wife accidentally installed "antivirus xp" two days ago. It took me hours to remove that thing until yesterday I noticed strange during login in my bank's website. So I use other computer for my online transactions. But I have to fix this. I'ved done : 1. Delete history areas in my computer, reinstall explorer 8 2.Online scan with windows live one care ( some malwares removed) 3. Scanned with AVG free ed, bit defender free ed, Super anti spyware, Spybot search and destroy, CA anti spyware, trojan remover, yahoo pest patrol in safe mode) Avast, PCtools antivirus. While some virus and spywares were removed, this stuborn login screen is still causing me headache, Though I cleared IE history. Thi never happened in Firefox and Google chrome in the same computer. I'mlazy to format and reinstall windows..lots of backup to do. I just want to remove this malware hidden in my system files. ThanKx more

I obviously have a virus on my computer. I need help to remove it. What I know: - It creates random-named .tmp files in my c:/users/******/appdata/local/ folder. - My SuperANTISpyware program has detected parite and attempted to remove it but it is unsuccessful. - I have previously had Vongo and Zango malware, but it was removed (to my knowledge) - I have Windows Vista Home Basic (32 bit) - It contaminates almost all of my .exe files (i.e. Many of my applications are unusable) - My startup procedure is very odd; it starts with a Windows Explorer task open to "My Documents" and there is a black screen. (I have realized that it is a failure to call explorer.exe, and I have to run it manually from the Task Manager) - Through some exploring done by me, I have ran into many suspicious log files as well as .dat and .ini files. I would appreciate any help and will try to update if I determine something new. more

I keep getting this message on start-up of my laptop.? error msg 1- "windows cannot find C:\windows\svchost.exe',make sure you typed the name correctly and try again". error msg 2-""could not load or run C:\windows\svchost.exe' specified in the registry.make sure the file exists or remove the reference to it in the registry"" I keep getting these 2 error message whenever i start up my laptop that runs on windows xp home edition.its quite irritating and delays my start up,until i close the messages. any idea what it means??? help pls. I have run my antivirus software (avast) & it recently removed viruses. I have windows xp home edition. This problem started to appear after I followed steps to stop my com bringing up my documents at startup. It was in the redigit area. I recently saved a project and my net beans IDE install did not install right and i had a few bugs with the IDE. It is not a virus though. The problem is that i have a folder with over a hundred directories within directories and and there are a couple files in them, but they are harmless. It sais that file name is too long to delete the files. Is there any way to get these files out?. I dont need a virus scanner because they are not viruses. Open Question: Help! My computer can't locate my local profile, continues to log me onto a temporary profile, what do I do!?

I tried to log onto my computer it gave an error message stating it couldn't log onto the local profile because either some security files were missing or there was a corrupt local profile, so I pressed ok and another error message appeared stating it couldn't locate the local profile. So it logs me onto a "temporary profile" every time. I have heard you type in a certain thing under My Documents with your user name in it which shows you all your documents, but I can't seem to remember my user name. How do I find it? I also need advice on what you do to get your profile back. I did a scan of the system, but can only find 1 tracking cookie, has the virus gone under the radar of my anti-virus system? Open Question: dell inspiron notebook. wont turn on correctly?

Okay, so i have a dell inspiron notebook that is about 4 years old. I have virus protection on it. -Norton. I haven't had and major problems with it. But yesterday I hit the power button and it turned on and a blue page came up. it said that the computer had shut down because of a problem. It said that if it was the first time seeing the screen to restart it, I did. A black page came up with options on how to turn it on. I chose the ones that it told me to, and it still didn't work. I tried several times last night, but gave up. The blue page also said that if it wasn't the first time seeing the screen to uninstall the virus protection. How am I supposed to do that when it wont let me log on? This morning i tried again and it still didn't work. I cant even get to the home page where you select the user name. What can I do and how do you think this happened. thank you. more

Open Question: Can someone identify this computer virus?

Hi, a few days ago I had a system freeze on one of my computers.(A Dell Dimension E510). When I rebooted everything was fine for a few seconds then my wireless adapter stopped responding and when I tried to unplug it and plug it back in it flicked on for a few seconds then shutoff. Now this happens with any usb device I try to introduce after start up. Additionally when I try to run a virus scan on most programs (Kasperskys, malwarebytes) they freeze before completion. I booted into safe mode and tried running malwarebytes again and came up with 1 virus under the name lsass.exe recognized as a trojan. I let malwarebytes quarantine and fix it but the problem persists. The most puzzling aspect is that even though I had an lsass spoof trojan the computer isn't infected with a sasser or mydoom as there isn't a duplicated lsass process or corresponding duped registry key. (Note it's not an isass either). If anyone can provide any help it'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! more

Open Question: Network timeout and Page Load errors on only one site?

There is a forum I've been going too for many many years and everytime I try going to the website on firefox AND IE I get an error. It says, "PAGE LOAD ERROR" then Network Timeout and says the site name and said it took to long to display. I'm not banned or anything, I know that, and the site works for everyone else but will NOT work for me on this computer. Every other site I go to works, for some reason this is the only website that I'm having problems with. I've ran mutiple virus scanners, came up with no problems at all, so how come I can't get on this site? It works on my laptop but not my main computer. Any help as to how to fix this would be appreciated.I forgot to add, I rebooted my computer multiple times, I cleared the cache, cleared the cookies, temp internet files, nothing worked. more

Open Question: Fake Security Alert Virus, how to fix?

When I turn on my Vista computer, lots of random applications are trying to access the internet. I block every single one of them. That is why the virus can't do anything. But the blocked programs are ALL in my user folder (like the folder that holds all my data with the name of my User Account name). They include iexplore.exe and 6 or 7 random letters, all capitals, then .exe. They change every time. There are two of those and iexplore.exe. Sure iexplore is a system app, but its not supposed to be in my user folder. Nothing happens yet. I can delete the two apps with random letters, but i can't delete iexplore.exe. I wait, then a new item tries to access internet. Another random lettered app. This time a shield icon appears in my right side of the system tray and says "Security Center Alert! Virus Warning! Your Computer is Infected!", and a fake browser that i can't close comes up with Windows 2000 Theme and nothing on it because i blocked its internet access. I go to my user folder, I can now delete the iexplore.exe, but not the random lettered new one. The new one has a yellow shield icon with a black exclamation mark in the middle, just like the icon in my system tray. A batch file with random letters is also there. I can delete that. I still can't delete the shield iconed app. I can, however, move it. I move it to an empty folder on my desktop. The shield icon goes away eventually, like overnight, and i can delete the folder with the application in it. Virus gone? no, when i restart the same thing happens again... all new letters and everything. sometimes when i move the shield app, the icon in my system tray doesn't even go away... malware bytes anti-malware doesn't open. I've tried multiple full system scans and malware scans....no virus detected. i've scanned the virus application specifically, no virus detected. I can't system restore because the virus deleted all system restore points... this virus has spread to all three of my computers!!! thru jump drive trying to save important files... I NEED HELP!!! how do i fix it??? more

Help! I got a virus called System Security yesterday. I have windows xp and have tried a bunch of things that don't work. This virus will not me do a system restore or even do control-alt-delete. Says the tskmgr.exe is infected and cannot open. If I try and run any antivirus software it shuts the program down immediately. The cd player won't even work as I tried to transfer the malwarebytes program under a different name as someone recommended. Any ideas please???? more

so i was uploading some pictures of a camera for my sister and all of a sudden my anti virus alert went of. I saw a notification giving me the names of some viruses,i don't remember the names but some i believe have trojan in them. The viruses where quarantined and after that i deleted and i even did a full virus scan to make sure they were really gone. I start the computer the next day what i come to find? This movie is from the mid- to late 1990s. It was a made-for-tv movie or miniseries (like a Farscape movie). There was some type of disaster on earth, which caused a disease (?) that made people de-evolve into neanderthals. The rest of humanity retreated to enclosed cities and sent out teams (on little silver APC type things) to research the disease and hunt for survivors. Part of the problem with the disease, however, as that all the people who were not de-evolved were made sterile, so the humans started cloning. My laptop somehow got attacked by a virus that kept on showing the message "Thayet Myo Hacking Day" moving across the screen. My AVG Free could not catch it, and I couldn't even uninstall AVG or install a new antivirus. I don’t get this at all, I don’t even know what it is. I’m getting error messages about different files that I have no clue about. {2d617065-1c52-4240-b5bc-c0ae12157777}.loc is one of these files. Not all of them have the ".loc" on the end, some are .dll and some don’t have anything on the end at all. Anyways my HP Pavilion runs slow now compared to what it used to. Hello was just wondering on what I would need to start a computer repair business. I am only 16 years old, but lets just say i love computers and I know them inside and out. My dad said insurance would be a good thing just in case something does go wrong. I asked this question before, (Worded differently) but here it goes. Ok, so my computer is slow. I have tried EVERYTHING! I deleted things i didn't need. I have Ccleaners, Avira antivir, Malware protector (i don't know the name of it, but it scans my computer for malware) and Threatfire. They work pretty good, and i seem to have no viruses. (I did all the scans) I have plenty of memory, and my internet connection seems fine.( i have at&t wireless connection) . So what's the deal, why is it so slow? (specially the internet) -i use firefox. It loads really slow, and it freezes sometimes.I don't have any limewire, or music. I barely have pictures on it. (I use my other laptop for that) I don't watch any videos, (sometimes from youtube) and thats it. I have also difragmented my computer, did the disk cleanup, i tried everything that i could. Open Question: Toshiba Laptop Help!!!!!!?

I have a Toshiba laptop that has been working perfectly fine but then a couple of months ago after logging in this blue screen came up with something written on it. I couldn't read the screen because it was only up for about a second then it went away and turn the laptop off. But if I log into my dad's user name the blue screen doesn't show up but it won't let me go on the internet even though it says its connected and everything. Open Question: Computer geniuses, I really need your help! (?

ok, I use Free Avira as my anti-virus. Recently they upgraded their product from version 8 to 9. so, i downloaded version 9 and installed it. Then, a couple days later, my computer started to get really slow. I decided to do a System Restore hoping it would fix all the problems. I set the restore date for a couple days before I installed Avira V.9. After I completed the system restore, my computer restarted and when it showed the desktop screen, it said something about Avira not being able to be started. I the tried to reinstall version 9 but it wouldn't work. Then i tried to totally uninstall Avira from my computer by going into Control Panel and uninstalling it. It said something like 'unable to uninstall' or 'program not found.' All I know is that it didn't work. So, I tried to just delete all the files and folders that said Avira from my computer. I went to the Registery and did what I could to delete everything named Avira. I showed all hidden files an folders and searched my whole computer for anything that said Avira and deleted it. Then I went to my downloads and tried to reinstall Avira Version 9. It would work for awhile, but then it said that there was already version of this program on the computer and that I needed to uninstall that before i couldn't uninstall the new version. But i've already tried to delete everything with Avira from my computer. Now I'm stuck and have no security. I thought of downloading Avira Verson 8 and installing that, but i counldn't find that download on the Internet. Any suggestions anyone??? Thanks in advance. more

Hi, I am using windows Vista home premium.I transferred some data using USB drive when the Virus infected my PC.The anti virus Mcafee detected some trojan and removed it. Later when i restarted my computer it started giving me error that "ntvdm has stopped working" and started installing some document. I checked my drives and found MSOcache and $recycler folder in all the folders. Same time i noticed that all other folders are converted into exe application with same name with size of 90kb.Also it ate up my d drive as it shows 29 GB used out of 40 gb but on opening it says this drive is empty. The father of my child and I have found the perfect piece of land with great schools to build our dream house. We just visited the place today and 2 hrs later we got a call that the land was still there. While we visited I saw two cute little bunnies chasing each other on the property and it gave me a sign of good, and happy times. I feel like we are meant to be on that land and our life will truly be happy for us. On the other hand, I have been researching some crazy stuff like pole shifts and 2012. I also been looking up Edgar Cayce, Nostradamus and a psychic[name withheld] that is amazing with his predictions. He is the only one that I will ever get a reading from, but his waiting list is over a year. :( Anyways, they all say the same.. the poles will shift and it will be complete devastation. Every time when I open Internet Explorer, I open up my Windows Task Manager and I see a suspicious program by the name of "_x". The symbol on the left side of the name shows a blank looking page with a blue line on the top and 3 small white dots to the right. Whenever I close out or end task the suspicious _x, my internet explorer page closes out as well in a matter of 3 seconds after. So I have a XPS Dell (Please don't buy Dell, Very bad experience!!!) which I just got in August of last year. All I do is school work in this stupid computer. I have virus protection and everything. One day I turn it on and my background pic is gone and all my files are gone. It looked as if I restored to factory settings. I chatted with the stupid people in customer service who could not help me at all telling me that there was nothing I could do and that they had no idea what happened. I talked to a supervisor who was able to find my files going through the hardrive under users to my name and all my files were there. He copied all my files back to the desktop but when he restarted it everything was gone again. Everytime I would restart my computer I would lose everything all over again. So I figured that maybe if I dragged the files instead of copying and pasting they would stay. WRONG!!! After I restarted my computer everything was really gone! no where to be found and I freaked out!!! I bought Recover My Files by Get Data and it looked like alot of things were being recovered; however it always freezes like 5 minutes after I run it and I have not been able to accomplish anything. Like two weeks ago I turn my computer on again but this time I can't even load my profile at all!!! I can only log in through the guest option. I don't know what to do. My friend recommended that I reformat my computer and try running the Recover My Files disc again but I am afraid that I will really lose everything.
