Open Question: How to fix "windows explorer has stopped working" error?
As soon as I start up my PC, an error pops up that says "Windows Explorer has stopped working, Windows is checking for a solution to the problem..." and after a few seconds, another error message says "Windows Explorer is restarting" and then my task-bar and desktop reset. This happens every 10 seconds and is very frustrating. I have done a full system scan with Norton Internet Security 2010 and it says that my computer is clean. The only way i have found to avoid this error coming up is by going into the task manager and ending the process "explorer.exe". But this removes my desktop and my task-bar Any help is appriciated moreOpen Question: Open With: Window Error?
When I try to download software or even open up the Internet Browser... Simply just a tab, A window ALWAYS pops up and says: "Open With: Choose The Program You Want To Use To Open This File". And then it shows my programs. I read some forums about a previous worm that I removed but somehow it always causes this problem, I still don't know what to do. HELPP! moreOpen Question: how do i deal with my mom?
my mom thinks she knows everything, and whats worse is she denies it every wayy she can and says i think i know everything. just now, she wanted me to open an emailattachmentt. i opened it for her and i put it on the desk top. she is very illiterate with computers and thinks that the desktop is any folder. she started screaming at me saying to put it on her "desktop" (which to her is the folder with her name on it) because what i do is apparently too complicated. i tried to explain to her that the desktop is the screen with all the icons and the background picture, then again she starts screaming that she knows better than me and is smarter. next i was watching a show about aircraft carriers, then she goes in and says, how do they so quickly, they must have powerful breaks on th wheels. i told her there is a steel cable that catches the plane, then once again she says "shut up, i am smarter than you and i know better, if it was a cable, it would snap". again, she was on the computer, and then one of those pop up adds that say you have a virus pops up. i tell her not to click it because then we will get a virus. she once again says she knows better, and clicks "remove on the add. soon, a virus warning shows up and puts porn on the desktop and crashes the computer. she thinks that i was on the internet too long and it got us the virus. lastly, the one thing that pissed me off the most was when i was looking through my papers, she saw an old algebra II test that had a D. she went on that it was horrible (which i wasn't in the mood to listen too), and she says that the formula Y=MX+B is supposed to be from what she says-y is equal to m times positive b. when i went on my daily jog, she decided to come with me. i told her to where her running shoes but she wore flip flops which on a jog is a bad idea. i told her not to do that, but then she started screaming and again she says she knows better. when we jogged 2 minutes from the house, she got VERY tired, and said i somehow messed her up. finally she thinks im anti social. i dint like to talk to her friends children because they are total snobs, stuck up, or just annoying. i have way more friends than she assumes i have but she of course doesn't believe me. As for my dad, I NEVER have a problem with him. in fact, i think hes the best dad anyone can ask for. hes funny, he doe sent put people down like my mom, and he always supports me in what i do. one time i wanted to try out for sports, my dad said go for it, my mom says, "but your slow and very dumb. you don't use common sense and you could get hurt" so she didn't let me go. i spend more time with my dad because he is nothing like my mom and my mom thinks that because i am exactly like my dad it is a bad thing. Sadly however, my dad is in the navy and is often gone for a LONG time. One time i wanted to take this girl i liked to my high school's ring dance. My dad was glad that i found a date and didn't care what she looked like. my mom preferred i didn't go with her because she was not filipino. what do i do? moreOpen Question: remove my pop ups from yahoo games?

Friend had problem with router (D-Links) and through that manufacturer's 800# was referred to another 800#. She called and gave the guy in India remote access to her computer (dumb, but that's not the issue at this point.) She didn't know what he was doing in there, but he told her she had thousands of viruses and must give him her credit card to purchase the "fix." Fortunately she didn't. However, since then she's getting pop-ups requesting access by iyogi, which she never had before. In addition, she got a $79 charge against her bank account. iyogi is installed on her computer, though she doesn't know how. I don't know Vista, so not sure about the pop-ups, which she also gets from Malwarebytes since I downloaded that for her. By the way, Malwarebytes found over 200 infected files which I removed. And, yes, I did make sure I downloaded MB from cnet, so I know that's okay. Since the router manufacturer referred her to that tech support, I don't know if that guy downloaded iyogi or if he was a scammer, and how could he charge to her bank account if she didn't give him any info? Any ideas what happened and what should be done? moreOpen Question: How to remove noscript on firefox?

I went to Control Panel (Add/Remove) and removed the Sonic Digital Media program but the software refuses to be removed even though it does show removed in the Add/Remove window but the Icon continues to appear on the screen. A window appears constantly asking for the "Sonic Update Manager" and when I close it another window pops up requesting to install the CD which I never had; I don't recall ever downloading this program. It does not allow me to shut down the PC nor to connect to the Internet via my wireless network. This is driving me crazy. Please, HELP! This has been happening a lot recently where I'll open iTunes and try to play a song and my audio crashes. After downloading an ebook, it just popped up and started downloading things onto my desktop. I can still use the internet explorer but I can't open anything without an antivirus program which I don't recognise telling me that I have a virus and blah blah blah. Don't worry, I didn't click "remove virus", that would be the same as giving it permission to tamper with my computer even more. I've unplugged it from the internet and stuff, but what now? I'm using my old computer, which has security software (the other one didn't, it was new). What to do? Is it possible to, I don't know, transfer an antimalware/virus installation program (like Malwarebytes) from this computer on a flash drive onto the infected one, install it, and get rid of the virus? Haven't tried it yet because I'm kind of scared of touching the infected computer again.... Help, this isn't the first time it happened, last time I got a friend to reset everything but now he's gone overseas on vacation. moreOpen Question: How do I get rid of the "ntvdm.exe bad image" error?
Okay, so I just recently ran my superantispyware and malwarebytes because my internet was loading unusually slow and kept having error pages popping up. I removed several (and when I say several, I mean well over 4000 >_<) various rogue viruses and malware with my superantispyware and malwarebytes. I rebooted my computer like I always do after I perform these scans and since then I been having this error message pop up every time I try to use a program that has an icon that's image isn't working right. I have a screen shot on my photo bucket (here's the URL): http://s899.photobucket.com/albums/ac191/emogirl2231/?action=view¤t=ntvdmexeBadImageerror.jpg It's an error called "ntvdm.exe Bad Image" and it's preventing me from using whatever program I am trying to use. Which sucks because it's not letting me use my virus protection/scanning software to try to fix the problem...How do I fix this? Please help >_< moreOpen Question: My computer has the 'I am wired' virus, how can I remove it?

I got this eel yesterday. i know you not supposed to feed him until 24 hours after you get them. i bought some frozen bloodworms when i picked him up. when the lights went out i grabbed a dim flashlight and looked for him. sure enough i saw his tail. i thawed my bloodworms for about ten min. and then went to the tank. i popped out one of the squares and held it in my hand. i put my hand in the tank for about a min to let the worms get a little warmer. i carefully removed the gravel where he was hiding under and put the food right in his face he didnt even budge. it was about a min later and i let my oscar eat the bloodworms. i popped out another square and did the samething but sat the food in front of his face. still no eating. i know there picky eaters but i dont want to force feed him. any suggestions? moreOpen Question: How do i UN-sync all the songs on my ipod that are from a differant itunes computer, and...?

(first of all, im not good at computers, so if you'll recommend me something, it'd be helpful to see it in a step-by-step process. thanks.) i bought my Acer computer about 2 years ago. Vista was already pre-installed on it, & NO cd came with the computer. last night, i got the Security Tool virus, so i restarted my computer in Safe Mode, downloaded Malwarebytes, then scanned my computer. I was doing a "full scan" but it's taking such a long time, so i stopped scanning, then clicked on Delete to "quarantine" the infected files. now to completely remove those "infections", i have to restart my computer. i restarted my computer, in Safe Mode, then there was this long list of files being loaded... it got stuck for 5 minutes, so i decided to restart it again. when i restarted it, the "Startup Repair" pop-up showed up. Then it says: Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically. Sending more information can help Microsoft create solutions. --> Send information about this problem (recommended) --> Don't send ********************* i didnt know what to do, so i tried looking for some answers online. some said tap of F8 repeatedly during the start-up, but it didn't work. it always gets stuck on the Startup Repair screen. now im kind of deciding on setting my Vista to its original factory settings. (i've saved all the important files on my USB anyways.) how do i do this WITHOUT a Vista Installation (or Recovery?) cd? (again, my Vista was PRE-installed. no cd came with my computer when i bought it.) thanks. moreOpen Question: How do I fix my tap-to-click on Vaio Laptop?

I've had some problems involving Yahoo! lately, and while I contacted Yahoo! about both of them, I haven't gotten any reply. I guess you could list that as a third problem.O_o Anyway, the first problem I noticed was that I stopped getting email alerts via Yahoo! Messenger. Normally, there would be a sound, and a little notice would pop up in the corner of the screen each time I got an email. This still happens when I sign in, but not when I get individual messages. Even the icon on the buddy list that is supposed to keep track of when you have new mail and how much you've got is not showing anything. I've double-checked my settings, and they have not changed. A lot of other people seem to have been having this problem recently. The second problem is one I had months ago that happened again recently. Back then, emails containing a link that would give a virus were sent to everyone on my contact list. Upon contacting Yahoo!, I was told to try scanning for Malware, since my Norton AntiVirus program didn't pick up anything. I downloaded a program for this, found the problem, and removed it. It did not happen again after that, until now, so I think the problem was likely successfully resolved. But now it's happened again, and I ran both the Malware scan and a full Norton scan, both of which took days to complete. Nothing was found, yet the problem is still there. Does anyone have any idea what is going on and what I can do about it?Let me add: I'm not dumb. I have not clicked any suspicious links sent to me, or any at all, really. My account has not been hacked, and I'm the only one who uses the computer. As previously stated, I HAVE run a virus scan, with no results. Changing my account is not possible, and it would result in many frustrations. Also, I'm pretty certain it would not get rid of the problem. moreOpen Question: I am not sure what this is..?

Or a .dll?
I'm fixing some viruses on my computer right now, and I'm having trouble with this one. My file was detected as a trojan from.. c:/users/owner/AppData/Local/indapr.dll So the file "indapr.dll" Drom the appdata\local was infected with a Trojan, when I deleted it. It also closed the process explorer.exe. I didn't want to restart my computer so I manually restarted explorer.exe through the task manager. When I run the explorer.exe it starts up perfectly and everything is fine, but I keep having a error message popping up every 10 seconds or so, saying.. Error Loading: c:/users/owner/AppData/Local/indapr.dll c:/users/owner/AppData/Local/indapr.dll is not a valid win32 Application. It started sometime in early August that Safari began to act up. I would have a window open, and i would open up a new tab. The old tab would instantly switch to my "Top Sites" page, and the new one would be blank. And it didn't matter how many new tabs I opened, they would all follow the same trend. Then, I opened Safari once and noticed a Softonic toolbar had been installed. So i did my best to remove the toolbar from Safari and from my mac completely. (Btw I'm on a Macbook 13" 10.6.3) It also appears to have been installed in Firefox as well. Lately my secondary button (or "right click") has also been acting up. The pop down menu that usually shows up has been missing a lot of commands that I use pretty commonly. Sometimes they re-appear and sometimes they don't. I can't click and drag links anymore, and I can't copy image addresses unless I open the image in a new window now. Could this be a virus? What should I do? moreVoting Question: Trojan horse how to remove help please ASAP!!!?

I recently went on a site the other day, after ignoring the warning from McAfee Site Advisor to proceed with extreme caution and a program either started downloading or downloaded it's self. The program was called Security Suite and posed as an anti-spyware tool to remove the 1000+ viruses it said I had on my computer. When this thing kept running it kept disabling everything, I tried task manager to exit the program but it had already disabled that. I also couldn't go on my Windows Security Centre or use Internet Explorer. It apparently scanned 1000's of my Pc's files in a matter of minutes and a list on the 'Virus' program pretty much looked like I had every virus, trojan, worm known to man. When I went to the log in screen a message popped up saying "log in.exe file has been infected" the same when I tried task manager. I decided to shut down my computer after everything else failed. I then switched it back on and everything seemed fine, no warnings or messages. So I decided to go back 5 days on my restore point just in case. No everything looks and is working fine. I was just wondering has anyone else downloaded this FAKE anti-virus program or came across it before? Here is a link from a website you can see an image and a description: http://news.loaris.com/security-suite-scam/ I am curious to find out if anyone's pc became totally useless or did they get it sorted. Any answers or info would be great! moreOpen Question: Critiques on my short story: Goodbye Fourteen?
I wrote this piece because I'll be turning fifteen soon and I realized that A) I'm not sure I want to grow up (I mean, after this birthday, I'll be turning sixteen and that's huge for teenagers), B) I have no idea what to wish for when I blow out those candles and C) I felt like writing something. It's simple and needs a lot of work, but I just want comments, opinions and suggestions. So, what do you think? Goodbye Fourteen “Where’s the last pack of candles?” asked Mom, as she frantically searched the through the kitchen cabinets. She swept her golden blonde hair from her eyes, “The other packs were in the pantry, so where’s the last one?” “Mom,” called a voice that dropped a pitch from yesterday, “I think it’s in the pantry behind the pancake mix.” Instantly, she raced back to the pantry, removed the pancake mix and snatched the last pack of candles in her hand, “You’re right; why didn’t you mention this before I spent the last twenty minutes looking?” “Uh,” he paused, trying to come up with a good explanation. “I forgot, I guess.” His eyes scanned the room, as if the rest of his explanation was hiding in the kitchen. “I was in a rush this morning; I wanted to have the pancakes finished by the time Carleigh woke up. You know how she loves her pancakes.” Mom laughed, nodded her head and returned to setting the candles up on the cake. With twelve candles— the squiggly kind, of course —already surrounding the icing words, only three more would make the cake complete, ready for the birthday girl. With her keen eye for design, Mom placed the remaining candles in the “perfect” spots before grabbing the box of matches from the table. She removed a match, ran it against the rough edge on the box and began lighting the candles. “You know, Mom,” Mitchell said, as he carefully watched her light the candles. “I could do that for you and you could get Carleigh.” Without skipping a beat, she replied, “Mitchell, you know you’re not allowed to use the matches until you’re at least thirteen.” “But Mom—” “But nothing; go get your sister.” Irritated and disappointed, Mitchell stomped from the kitchen to the living room, up the stairs, down the hallway and into the furthest room: my room. Combing my hair in front of the mirror, I saw his reflection in the mirror and knew my last moments of being fourteen were dwindling down. “Carleigh,” he said with a sigh, “Mom wants you to come down and blow out the candles.” “One minute,” I exclaimed. “I need to do something before I blow out the candles.” He rolled his eyes, crossed his arms against his chest and replied, “Hurry up; I’m hungry! Besides, it’s not like another minute will help you look any less ugly, anyway.” “Please,” I demanded. “Just one minute and I’ll be down.” “Fine, but make it the quickest minute of your life,” Mitchell responded, as he left and closed the door behind him. With Mitchell gone and the next sixty seconds alone, I jumped face first onto my bed and smothered my face into the pillow. I flipped myself over and ran my fingers through my hair. (Italics) And to think, it’s already been one year since my last wish. Birthdays come too often; it’s not like I know what to wish for, anyway. I could wish for world peace— nah, it’s never going to happen. I could wish for a healthy, happy life— nah, I don’t need that now; I’ll use it when I’m old and desperate. I could wish for more friends— nah, I have some good friends; don’t need any more. I could wish for Gram and Pop to come back— nah, that’s the impossible wish. I could wish for a new bike— nah, I wished for that last year. “Carleigh! The fire is melting all the candle wax away. If you still want some cake, I suggest you get here now,” shouted Mom from the base of the stairs. “Coming,” I called, as I hopped off the bed, stole a glance in the mirror and scurried to the voice calling my name. Within seconds, I arrived at the table, sat before the cake and stared at the words before me: Happy Fifteenth Birthday, Carleigh! There’s a lump in my throat, but swallowing water is no good for chasing down the truth. (Italics) I guess it’s really true; I’m growing up. “Okay,” mom said, as she positioned herself across the table with her camera in hand. “Let’s sing to her, Mitch.” In unison, they began, “Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday, dear Carleigh, happy birthday to you.” “Blow out the candles already; I’m starving,” hollered Mitchell, immediately following the song. (Italics) This is really it: time to wish fourteen farewell and make my wish. Goodbye fourteen; I wish for nothing. I blew out the candles, Mom snapped a photo for the family album and, instantly, Mitchell grabbed the knife and began cutting the cake. He placed the largest piece on his plate, the smallest on Mom’s— she’s on a diet, like always —and handed me a plate with the corner piece. Happy birthday, Carleigh, happy birthdSorry, the last line got a little cut off: Happy birthday, Carleigh, happy birthday.G, I tried taking your advice by removing the long introduction to my stories, so I hope this one is better. If you’d like, we can work on this one together because it needs a lot, lot, lot of work and it’s entirely too simple. It needs to paint a better picture and it just needs more of everything. Let me know what you think. :)J.M.: I totally agree with you. I’m not even kidding, I wrote this in maybe twenty minutes (could have been shorter, but I was texting and writing at the same time. ;) ), so right now, I’m just looking for critiques to work with. Thanks for answering and I’ll work on the vocabulary and the storyline. :) moreResolved Question: What should I do about this Virus?
I was Downloading a movie, when my anti-virus (AVG) popped up with a message saying it found several infections, so I disposed of them, then immediately canceled the movie download. Then a message appeared from a fake anti-virus, so I closed it, and put it in safe mode, because something like that happened before, and scanned it with AVG. But this time it wouldn't let me open AVG, so I scanned it in regular mode, which did nothing. And now I can't use internet! I got the Antimalware doctor virus on my computer from being stupid and going on a free movie website. (Tvshack. DO NOT GO THERE!) Anyway, for about a half hour things kept popping up so I shut my computer down completely. The next day I turned my computer on and did a repair for my computer and the pop-ups went away and everything went back to normal. After that I did a scan just to be safe to see if I still had the virus. It said I still have threats that were detected and my PC was at risk. How do I get the virus completely removed from my computer? I don't have spyware right now just a scan. I'm going to go to Best buy to get a Spyware installed tomorrow so something like this doesn't happen again.
