I think it is fairly safe to say that most of the mental health PROFESSIONALS are expected to have a normal, healthy functioning mind and is one of the reasons why they are capable for that position. Open Question: I've been waiting so long to finally meet this girl in person, and finally she'll be there, but?

I don't know what I would say. I'm 23 and she's a little younger. I know exactly what type of situation will arise. First of all its a party, lot of people will be there, maybe close to 200 people. I'll be hanging out with my friends, and she'll be wayyyyyyyy on the other side chatting with her friends. Maybe I'll say "Hi" and spend a minute or two talking and that's it, then she'll say, "I've got to go, well it was nice meeting you," and she'll walk off. NO, I don't want that to happen. I'd like to talk to her more than 2 mins. I'd like a good solid conversation. If I can do this, then I'd know this has been a BIG win for me. The dilemma is, How do I get from my side to her side and not look stupid. Meaning how do I even begin to start a conversation with her, while she's already in her group talking with HER friends. We've only met on Facebook, and finally I'll she her in person. But what do I talk about? How do I begin a conversation with somebody I'm meeting the first time? I've read the articles that are posted on the frontpage of Yahoo, you know like 'how can you tell he/she likes you' and other related topics. Those are interesting to read, but to actually approach someone is kinda making me lose my confidence. Open Question: GIRLS, I NEED YOUR OPINIONS!! WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN!??!?

First of all, I will apologize for how long this note is. I want to get advice (no duh, lol). Only read this if you have the time and want to analyze a very specific situation. So I've liked this girl, Matti, for about 6-8 months now. She and I both are huge Flyers and Phillies fans, and that's kinda sorta how we started talking to one another. She currently has a boyfriend, and I understand and keep a safe distance. I have stayed a close friend because it's all I can be right now. Anyways, she, myself, and another mutual friend went to a Phillies game a week or two ago. While at the game, interestingly a heart-to-heart conversation between the 3 of us ensued. The topics ranged from stresses to hypothetical relationship situations, etc. Anyways, the one topic was that of divorce; her parents are divorced, and it's been wearing on her for a long time. She told me about it all, and I said to her I have so much admiration for her strength through a tough time... She appreciated this, smiled at me, and just patted me on the back for about 5 seconds. It looked like she almost had tears in her eyes too. Anyways, another detail that was revealed at the game was the fact that her boyfriend was in a golf cart accident and suffered two fractured vertebrae in his neck (this detail becomes important later), and apparently her mom isn't all too supportive of the whole her-having-him deal... So after the game, we're walking out of the stadium. I say to her, "you know, sometimes you need this heart-to-heart talks" and she said, "This conversation will definitely continue in your car." And that it did, as we talked about such topics all the way home. One particular topic really has stuck with me above any other from the night though. In talking about my sister being 24 and never having any boyfriend or anything, she and I both agreed that we couldn't imagine going that long in our lives without having somebody. This compelled me to ask her, "Do you think I'm a happy person?" She said that she thought that a majority of the time, I'm happy with my life. All I could say to her in response was, "Wow, I do a good job acting then." She was beyond stunned to learn this detail; I just felt it was a good time to get it off my chest. However, it was the way she transitioned into her next thought that threw up alarms for me. She said "Well, I'm not such a bad actor then, either." And I asked her, "Matti, are you happy with your life?" She answered, "Honestly, not really." Her stresses ranged from the divorce to fearing she wouldn't be able to visit her dad much, to the situation with her mom (her mom had apparently driven her crazy a few days before), etc. One thing she said, unprovoked, really stuck out to me. "I fear breaking up with a guy and being the terrible person for it." It wasn't until after I left her that I thought about the fact that her bf has a broken neck... This seemed peculiar to me, and it seemed to fit the whole fear thing, since she obviously wouldn't want to bring him down even more than he already is. Throughout this car ride to her house, we hit traffic as well, and I said, "I can't believe this traffic; I guess this conversation was supposed to be a long one." She said, "Yeah, somebody wanted us to be talking for a while." We both said how we couldn't wait to go back to PSU, and at that point the song Home by Daughtry came onto my speakers. I turned to her and said, "Wow, how fitting that this song comes on..." I saw the tears start to build up in her eyes, and while she didn't cry, I could sense that she was on the verge of it. When we got to her house, finally, we both got out and embraced for quite some time. She wished me to feel better with myself, and I wished her all the best as well. Just recently, I texted her just to check in, and she filled me in on how her trip to Florida with her family had been. It was late at night when she started to text me, so she told me she had to go to bed since she had to wake up early the next day. She said "Aw I feel bad leaving you, but I am gonna fall asleep very soon; I can't wait to see you again." Also, when I referenced a friend hanging out with me down the shore, she said, "Is this your close friend that's a girl?" I found it peculiar that she was so curious about that. Anyways, she has told me how we're going to hang out DEFINITELY within the first week of school in the coming weeks, and we're both beyond excited. I guess, and again, I'm sorry for this novel, what I'm wondering is, what does this all mean? Does she sound like she wants to break up with him? Does she like me somewhere deep down? OK I have a job interview tomorrow for a fast food place. I was thinking of these two interview questions I normally get stuck on and was wanting some opinion on weather my answers are good enough. Describe a time when you had to handle a difficult customer: While I worked in the deli at Safeway they did a lot of remodeling and they were having a grand re-opening. The store was having a big sale and all of the lines were long. This lady had came to the deli with a whole cart full of stuff to check out. Sense there is no belt or anything it takes a little longer to ring up big orders. This man who was waiting behind the woman began to complain about the wait. I apologized to him and had one of my coworkers help me bag the groceries to speed it up a bit. The man saw that we were trying and calmed down. ^^^I feel like this answer sucks. lol. And describe a time when you provided excellent customer service: When I worked at Safeway one of the customers told me there was a blind man wondering around the parking lot. I went out out to find the man and asked if he was ok. He said he needed help finding the store and getting a drink of water. I took the man by the arm and lead him to the drinking fountain, helped him find the items he wanted to purchase, and lead him back to the bus stop he need to go to. Open Question: I think my boyfriend is cheating on me with my best friend what should I do?

Here's the deal. Before my boyfriend met me he had a huge crush on my best friend but at the time my best friend wasn't interested. Then she ended up introducing him to me and we ended up liking eachother. Around that time my best friend started to have feelings for him and I kind of noticed because she started acting mean to him for no reason and I asked her several times do you like him and she kept saying no.So then I went ahead and asked him out. I know I should trust both of them but I know how hard it is when you're alone in a room with somebody you like especially when my best friend is drop dead gorgeous and she has hugee boobs. Hi, I am going into my senior year of highschool in the United States and the following year after i plan on going to a local community college for two years. After that two years though I want to transfer to NUI Galway in Ireland. I was just wondering if somebody could tell me specific requirements for transferring from a junior college in the United States to a University in Europe. My grades throughout highschool haven't been prestigious by an means, but they haven't been terrible.. mostly C's, a few B's, and occasional D's. However I am aware that while attending the Junior Community College if I have 3.0 or higher for all of the four semesters that reaches the requirements, also i plan on the finishing my foreign language requirements in the community college. I am going to try and major in law and business, so please give me feedback along with what route I should take to make this happen such as activites, does me not having a great highschool career affect my chances as long as I excel in my two years at the community college. Now before I say this I don't wanna offend anybody but sorry if I do. First off I notice that girls (quite a few) look at me then look away when i notice them. Me and this guy have gotten really close for about 10 months now. We've been friends for 4 years, but he's one of my best friends now. I heard that in 8th grade, he kind of went out with this girl, and they've had "something" since then. But he tells me he likes me now, not her. He also says that they will never have anything, but it's so hard to believe because I heard that last year they hooked up. I don't like the girl, she seems sneaky. Me and him decided to give a relationship a try in June, but it ended in July (long story. it was mutual. But we're friends with benefits for now because we're on a break and can't handle saying goodbye yet.) and I went over to his ex's house for her graduation party the night it happened, and she's like, "Oh yeah, we used to hang out all the time. He did that same thing to me. He's such a player..." but he doesn't seem it. It made me think that maybe she's right, and we should stick together and hate on him, but I keep feeling different. A while ago when she first found out we had a thing, she tried to get me pissed at him and told me that he worked at a strip club. I did get mad, but then followed my own feelings and realized she was just a jealous liar. What I think she's trying to do is make it so I wont like him anymore, but that's not possible because we're in love with each other. Him and her both went to prom together, when she knew it made me mad. He told me though that he would have taken me back then if his friends didn't put him up to it. Whenever he left her dancing and went to talk with someone else, the look on her face could have killed somebody. After we decided to "take a break" she thought it meant we were done for good, and her Facebook status said, "(her name) is content :)"..now what the hell does that mean? I noticed that she's having a bonfire at her house Friday and made a group for it on Facebook. I wasn't invited, but he was. She still likes him, I can tell. But I hate it when she does stuff like this. Me and him both have strong feelings for each other, so is there anyway I can piss her off more just for the fun of it? My spouse never says I Love You anymore unless he is going to work. His over all behavior has changed a lot. He has grown his hair long and is more concerned about how it looks than anything else. He went and got expensive new phone only he can operate instead of getting my meds and our kids school clothes. He also takes longer (hours) to pick up milk at the store and will occasionally bathe when he comes him . our sex life is nonexistent unless he initiates it while he is sleeping (yes he will roll over out of a dead sleep talking to somebody and start making out with me.) We never kiss or hold hands anymore. I know people don't stay crazy in love forever and that the newness will wear off after years of marriage but is this normal. He also calls me slut and pulls my hair even though I have 7 stress fractures in my neck and back. When I cry and tell him it hurts he just doesn't care. He acts nothing like he did when we dated or first got married. I also caught him being secretive with the computer a week ago for the first time ever. he never even uses the computer unless he pays bills. but he had it out and when i walked up he navigated away from the page he was on. whats wrong with this picture? more

Open Question: Could this be diagnosed as O.C.D?

At work when i am about to leave i have to wash my hands, grab exactly 4 dry towels, and then use sanitizer. If i don,t do this i do not feel comfortable and i will not be able to leave the store because i will feel a sort of light anxiety(if that makes sense). When i am home and i am ready to go to bed after i brush my teeth, i wash my hands with soap and head over to my room. If on the way to the room my hands make contact with ANYTHING that isn't on me, i have to go back and wash my hands again or i will not be able to sleep because i feel a sort of contamination on me. Also when ever somebody tells me "hey can i tell you something?" and they don't actually tell me, i keep thinking of what it might be even if it was nothing and they were just joking around, i keep asking what it was until they have to make something up to shut me up. If i don't get an answer from them i feel that anxiety again. Can OCD cause a heightened sense of jealousy? If i actually have it that is. PLEASE HELP! more

Marble slab is just way to expensive- $8.00 for a cone and it's just not very good, and I'm not into Baskin Robbins. And before you say "just go to a supermarket, buy some ice cream and some cones", I don't want a whole tub (which wouldn't fit in my freezer anyhow), and I don't need a whole package of stale store bought cones. Every little town on nearby Vancouver Island has a shop selling delicious Island Farms brand ice cream. A double scoop waffle cone is usually less than three bucks. Open Question: I get hurt so easily, and even I always get hurt, no matter how small it is?

Well I know the question is confusing. So let me tell you. I get hurt all the time. The things other people do to me are hurtful. And it's obvious, that everyone gets hurt if it happened to them. But also, I've been always getting hrut badly even if it was small. Like if someone says "What are you looking at?" with a straight, mean face, I get hurt. Even if it were something small... like "tsktsktsk" to me. It huts me a lot. And I'm that kind of sensitive person. If I could change the way I am, I would definitely do it! But I always cry about it... There seems to be nothing I could do to stop myself from crying so much. I can't even stand up for myself. I just get pushed around. >_< I moved away from my old country. when I was 17 years old I applied for a California driver's license but I didn't pass the written test, years later a cop pulled me over and when they asked me if I had a driver's license, I said no, because I didn't, he then went to his car and when he came back he told me I ws lying and said I have a driver's license and it was suspended! how could that be if I never pass the test?? I went to the DVM and they told me when somebody applies for a driver's license they assign a number, I have my interview with immigration in 3 weeks and I am afraid they could find out about this? and denied my visa permanently, on the application there is a question that says if I have a driver's license! Alright, I was planning on purchasing Rock Band 2, and I was looking at the DLC on PSN.. there's a song I'd like to have on Rock Band 2 but it's not available as DLC or anything. So, I was looking on Rock Band's site and I found that they have songs you can download. I have a PS3 though, they give you an option to buy it for X-Box 360 but since I have a PS3.. yeah. Open Question: Why have I been having a nightmare for the past week?

I've been kind of upset lately, wondering if maybe that is why.. I don't have a reason to be upset, just am. It brings me to tears sometimes, if I am just laying there, or whatever. So I play the saxophone. I play the baritone sax on my highschool marching band(im a freshman by the way) and I love it. I also played the bari half of my seventh grade year and my entire 8th grade year but i played it for more concert type music. I have an alto sax at home that i play a little bit beacuse ive heard that it can improve your embachure. Anyway, I want to expand my music playing abilities and I love the way a trumpet sounds. Not to mention, sooo many instruments are branched off from it. I'm definatley not going to ignore my saxophone, im going to keep practicing and improving in any way that i can. I asked my band director if we had any extra trumpets i could use, and we do. So now i just need to know if i would be able to afford trumpet lessons. Can somebody give me an estimate? ok so my lil sis has a Disney Pix Max 5.0 Mega Pixel Digital Camera. we know how to work it but we have NO idea how to take the pictures from the camera and put them on the computer. we have NO MEMORY CARD, just the cable to connect it to the computer. right basically, i'm not a nervous person and i know i can make people laugh etc and once i start talking to somebody i'm fine in a conversation, what i need is a way to start a conversation with a girl, i was in 1 of her classes last year at college and pretty much didnt speak to her all year, as i will probably be in classes with her this year i dont want to make it obvious i fancy her when i first talk to her, i tried for about a month to think of a conversation starter and just couldnt do it, is there anything i could say to start a conversation with her that wouldnt make it obvious? the next time i might see her will be getting results for the 1st year exams, something i could say to her then would be much prefered because there's another month after that before our 2nd year and it's killing me having to wait, it cant be something like 'what results did you get' because it would just seem weird as we really havent spoken much. more

Ok first off sorry this is a little long. Well yesterday when i was hanging out with her and some friends she mentioned that she still wants to be with him(which i think is really pathetic/stupid,being he hurt her by breaking up with her) and kept texting him the same message about how she wants him back but says he has never replied to any of them,her friends kept telling her that being he's not responding she should just forget about him,and she just says yeah i should(which i hope she does!). anyways i really want to tell her that i like her and would never do anything to hurt her and to tell her to tell this guy to *** off! But im not very good at explaining that kind of stuff, thats why i've been trying to show her,by doing the nice things i''ve done for her,like taking her to her fav.band. I feel really stupid being i missed my chance a few times to tell her, mainly cause i felt like if i did i would get that "I dont want it to ruin our friendship" speech which i can understand, but would tell her that I have no reasons to break up or dump her if we were to go out, and also would ask her why she thinks i would want to do that to her,just to prove to her that i wouldnt! I'm glad I am a counselor, nothing else i'd rather be..'cause if I weren't a counselor....?
