Open Question: How would you re-word this?
Ok so I'm doing an assignment for Music Theory and I keep looking at this and coming up blank. Could somebody please help me out and show me how they would re-word and get the main points of this article. Thanks!!!!!!!!!! (P.S- thankyou wikipedia, i got it from there) The earliest documentation of Hungarian music dates from the introduction of Gregorian chant in the 11th century. By that time, Hungary had begun to enter the European cultural establishment with the country's conversion to Christianity and the musically important importation of plainsong, a form of Christian chant. Though Hungary's early religious musical history is relatively well documented, secular music remains mostly unknown, though it was apparently a common feature of community festivals and other events.[7] The earliest documented instrumentation in Hungary dates back to the whistle in 1222, followed by the kobzos in 1326, the bugle in 1355, the fiddle in 1358, the bagpipe in 1402, the lute in 1427 and the trumpet in 1428. Thereafter the organ came to play a major role. The 16th century saw the rise of Transylvania (a region inhabited by Hungarians, never occupied by the Turks) as a center for Hungarian music. It also saw the first publication of music in Hungary, in Kraków. At this time Hungarian instrumental music was well-known in Europe; the lutenist and composer Bálint Bakfark, for example, was famed as a virtuoso player. His compositions pioneered a new style of writing for the lute based on vocal polyphony. The lutenist Neusiedler brothers were also noted and authored an important early work in music theory, the Epithoma utriusque musices. During the 17th century, Hungary was divided into three parts: an area controlled by the Turks; an area controlled by the Habsburgs; and Transylvania. Historic songs declined in popularity and were replaced by lyrical poetry, whilst minstrels were replaced by court musicians. Many courts or households maintained large ensembles of musicians who played the trumpet, whistle, cimbalom, violin or bagpipes. Some of these ensemble musicians were German, Polish, French or Italian; the court of Gábor Bethlen, Prince of Transylvania, included a Spanish guitarist. Little detail about the music played during this era survives, however. Musical life in the areas controlled by the Ottoman Turks declined precipitously, with even the formerly widespread and entrenched plainsong style disappearing by the end of the 17th century. Outside of the Ottoman area, however, plainsong flourished after the establishment of Protestant missions in around 1540, while a similarly styled form of folk song called verse chronicles also arose. During the 18th century, some of the students at colleges such as those in Sárospatak and Székelyudvarhely were minor nobles from rural areas who brought with them their regional styles of music. Whilst the choirs in these colleges adopted a more polyphonic style, the students' songbooks indicate a growth in the popularity of homophonic songs. Their notation, however, was relatively crude and no extensive collection appeared until the publication of Ádám Pálóczi Horváth’s Ötödfélszáz Énekek in 1853. These songs indicate that during the mid to late 18th century the previous Hungarian song styles died out and musicians looked more to other (Western) European styles for influence. The 18th century also saw the rise of verbunkos, a form of music initially used by army recruiters. Like much Hungarian music of the time, melody was treated as more important than lyrics, although this balance changed as verbunkos became more established. moreOpen Question: is this a good story..?

Replaying memories in her head of the good times they shared. Like the time he took her to a horror film that scared her so much that she couldn’t sleep through the night. He felt so guilty for taking her to the movie. He stayed on the phone with her every night for two weeks until she fell asleep. He must have lost hours of sleep. She remembered the time he grew a garden of lilies in the front of his house because it was her favourite flower. She remembered how sad she was when he travelled alone. She remembered how beautiful he made her feel. Then she remembered how it felt when she saw him with another girl. How her stomach felt like it was on fire, how she felt as if someone had reached down her throat and tore her heart out. Her cell phone was vibrating, he was calling again. She pressed ignore, got out of bed, and threw everything that reminded her of him in the trash. When she finished going through every closet and drawer in her house, she laid down again. Realizing that he never truly loved her, she thought to herself “who was I to say he loved me?, I don’t know anything at all.” moreOpen Question: I want to be depressed?
This is not a question. This is more of a goal. In the past, I was severely depressed for two years and just this year in my junior year in high school, I'm learning how to relate to all types of people and just being normal. People enjoy my company and I'm a pretty well known guy in school. But being depressed was a beautiful thing. Never before had I opened my eyes and perspectives so much during my depression. Lyrics such as "If you blink, you could miss so much. Please don't ever close your eyes" and "Please don't too much. It only hurts when I breathe" made me cry and in those moments, I felt like I was part of something bigger yet at the same time, I felt so very minuscule. I'd find myself gasping for breath and these are moments I'll never forget. Now, I believe I'm finding happiness again and I don't like it. Laughter is a great thing between friends but I want to feel more. At times, I desire the feeling of pain, of adrenaline, of enlightenment once more. And I think I can achieve this. There's this girl I really like from the heart and even though she thinks I'm sweet, she already likes someone else. It seems as though she only hangs with white people and with my being Asian, my chances are slim. Don't say just because it "seems so" it makes it true. It's more a widely known fact she associates herself only with whites. If I'm coming out as ignorant, forgive me. It's just that in school of over 30 ethnicities, separatism would be possible only by choice. My mind tells me to forget her but my heart tells me get her. My soul tells me to make her break my heart so that once more, I'll fall into depression. I want to see again. I know this is not normal so please, why am I feeling this way?I'm not a schizo and never was anti-social. I have lots of great friends in high school but I just feel this way. Not many people can relate to this, which will make answering this question extremely difficult. Just try, ok? moreOpen Question: where could i find lyrics to a song?

These are the lyrics: Again and again sing this that we live, it's all we have to go off of. This is a nightmare come to life, this is something you'll regret at times. When you see there's an end tonight. Just think about this now, as we come to an end. The decisions you have, made will come back to haunt you, and as the story ends and you look to the sky, this couldn't have happened by chance. And Here's your escape as He Calls out your name, you fall to your knees and answer his call. But Here's your escape, He calls out your name, you fall to your knees, and answer His call. Lord I will be anything for you. Hallelujah,Hallelujah, saved by grace. x2 Hallelujah, I've been saved by grace, Hallelujah, saved by grace. and this is why, I've been saved, by His grace. Just think about this now, as we come to an end. The decisions you have, made will come back to haunt you, and as the story ends and you look to the sky, this couldn't have happened by chance. Not quite sure if anyone will be able to answer this, but a few years ago I was in Japan and I heard on the radio the last bit of a song that I still to this day don't know why it was being played there. First off, it was an English song, and sung by someone I had never heard of; secondly, it was a Christian song. Now, any English song that's not by someone mainstream is uncommon in Japan, let alone a Christian song on a secular radio station in a country with less than a 1% Christian populace. I couldn't catch the artist's name because they didn't say it after the song had finished, and I didn't hear enough to remember many of the words. This is what I remember, it was a male singer, and he could be from any English-speaking country, not necessarily America. The song is about when he reaches Heaven, and it has a beautifully soft and melodic tune with I believe only a guitar for the accompaniment. The only words I do remember was part of the chorus, "As I come to His/Your table" (not sure if it's "His" or "Your"). He then sings how at the table with God he is sanctified, cleansed, restored, etc. Those words are repeated a couple times within the chorus. I know it's not much to go by, but I heard something earlier this week that made this pop into my head, and I would LOVE to know what song this is and who sings it. Thank you for any help! moreOpen Question: Could she possibly like me?
At the moment we are just very close friends. We call each other brother and sister. But the way she act lately makes me think that she may think of me as more than just a friend. She says things like "Your voice is so cute!" "I'm so lonely, can you come to my bed and give me a hug?"(I was a bit freaked out when I first heard it :P) "Just listening to your voice makes me blush!" "Brother, you should find yourself European girl with cute accents"(she is European) "I fell in love with you!"(she supposedly said it as a joke/friendly way, I assume), etc. Sometimes she'd ask me to say anything in my mother tongue(it's not English, and she's very much into my mother tongue :P), and I just read down the lyrics of my favorite song of my mother tongue rhythmically, as if I'm reading a poem, and I can hear her panting over the phone :O She is usually a very shy girl, and I know that she doesn't do half of above to most of her guy friends. I am not new to dating business, so from my experience, she definitely likes me but she is too shy to make any bold moves first. What is your guess? moreOpen Question: Lyric feedback......?

this idea came to me after i listened to Blood, a my chemical romance song one day! http://www.sing365.com/music/Lyric.nsf/Blood-lyrics-My-Chemical-Romance/15F55EDFF0633DDE4825720E0011B6C8 i was woken up by the insertion of a needle in my skin. and the monotone beeping of several high- and low-pitched machines. it formed a kind of melody. a harmony. a song, if you will. a hospital song. my eyes jerked open as i took in my surroundings, and the excruciating pain in my chest and scalp. it hurt yo breathe, which i then realized i had been forgetting. i took a deep breath despite the pain in my lungs, and grunted. the short, middle-aged woman watching my Monitors looked at me. she yelled something out the door, and ran to the wall, repeatedly pressing a small blue button, until a man entered the room. he was coming at such a quick pace, almost cantering, so i was sure it was not hospital-approved. 'heart rate?' he asked, fiddling with another syringe, jamming it into a vial of green goo. 'steady, but a little high.' said the woman, trying to watch several screens at once. 'you can expect a high heart rate after what shes been through. has she said anything?' 'no' 'is she responsive?' 'i dont know, im kinda busy!' the male looked at me. he walked over and shone a light in my eye. 'No responses," he said, picking up my chart.'But shes awake.' so much was running through my mind. where was i? where was karl, my boyfriend? why was i in a hospital? i moved my eyes around the room because my head was spinning. i locked my eyes on the knob on the bathroom door, trying to focus myself. but the room was still spinning, so i gave up.i closed my eyes in a desperate attempt to keep from getting sick. my eyes opened involuntarily, and i saw the Doctor advance toward me with the syringe, and as i opened my mouth to protest, he stuck me. there was a sharp pain in my wrist, then a dull numbing. Kailen, my name is doctor harris.' the man said, slowly. 'this is nurse patterson.' he pointed to the nurse.'can you hear me?' i nodded. 'can you understand us?' i nodded again. 'can you talk?' he asked slowly. i sat up carefully in my bed. "i-i-i..." i inhaled sharply. "i can...but it hurts.' my breathing was terribly labored, and i was inhaling and exhaling in short spurts. 'what happened? why am i here? where's karl?' my eyes were watering, and my lips were trembling. the young blonde man was advancing toward me. 'calm down, honey. you and karl...' 'karl! is he okay?' i winced from the pain. 'please...calm down. the car you and karl were in was run off the road. youre quite lucky to be alive.' 'so I'M alive. that's great. WHERE is karl?" by now, the water in my eyes had spilled over my lids, and was running down my face. 'Karl is...not doing so well." he sighed, and my heart throbbed, knwowing the next words out of his mouth World be the last id ever want to hear. 'Karl's in a coma." the world that was spinning around me had jerked to a sudden stop. everything became clear, like my eyes' contrast was at 100%. i could see the dust specks floating in the air, dancing to my hospital song. the colors brightened, and morphed. blues became reds, greens were purples, and whites turned black. so much black. my bed was black. the walls were black. the floor was black, everyones clothes were black. for a second, everything was silent, completely silent. my eyes closed and i fell back on my pillows. i then heard several thins. i heard dr. harris call for adefibrillatorr. i heard nurse pattersonshriekk. i heard wheels squeaking, people yelling, electricity crackling, people yelling, but no more beeping. just as my hearing was starting to fade, i heard dr. harris yell 'clear' and i felt an electric shock run through my body. he repeated the process 3 more times, until i heard the beeping resume. i heard voices talking, then i fell back asleep. moreOpen Question: I need a Facebook status to hint that i'm falling for him ....help me?

I know it's a relatively old song (off of Lupe Fiasco's "The Cool") but this has been one of those songs that stick out for me. Or is this what Heaven is? {Verse 3} Life like on the movie screens, that's how I want it to be Might be silly of me, to desire a fairy tale Dramatic love story, supreme love Spontaneous chases, going the extra mile Just to be with the one who means more than you could imagine Really being together forever, life living endlessly One soul to complete the other Soaring over the ocean as one {Chorus} Pull me away from this empty nothing Let me float high, somewhere I belong And the love i feel is endless From where dreams are made, to living it without pretending Is there such a thing? Or is this what Heaven is? {Bridge} Call me foolish, tell me I'm wrong Try to wake me and come back to reality Who says how you live is the way it has to be Live your own life, and I'll live mine I'll do what it takes to truly satisy my heart {Chorus} Pull me away from this empty nothing Let me float high, somewhere I belong And the love i feel is endless From where dreams are made, to living it without pretending Is there such a thing? SUM41 I don't want this moment, to ever end, Where everything's nothing, without you. I'll wait here forever just to, to see you smile, Cause it's true, I am nothing without you. Through it all, I made my mistakes. I stumble and fall, But I mean these words. I want you to know, with everything I won't let this go. These words are my heart and soul, I'll hold on to this moment you know. Cause I'd bleed my heart out to show, that I won't let go. Thoughts read are spoken, forever in doubt. And pieces of memories fall to the ground. I know what i didn't have so, I won't let this go. Cause it's true, I am nothing without you. All the streets, where I walked alone, With nowhere to go. Have come to an end. I want you to know, with everything I won't let this go. These words are my heart and soul, I'll hold on to this moment you know. Cause I'd bleed my heart out to show, that I won't let go. In front of your eyes, it falls from the skies, When you don't know what you're looking to find. ohn Lennon got the idea for this when he heard Yoko to playing Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" on the piano. He asked her to play it backwards, and came up with this based on what he heard. John said, "I was lying on the sofa in our house, listening to Yoko play Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata' on the piano. Suddenly, I said 'Can you play those chords backward?' She did, and I wrote 'Because' around them. The song sounds like 'Moonlight Sonata,' too. The lyrics are clear, no bulls--t, no imagery, no obscure references." The vocals are a 3 part harmony by Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison that was overdubbed twice, creating a 9 part harmony. This is the only Beatles song with 3 singers throughout. (thanks to Dwight Rounds, author of The Year The Music Died, 1964-1972) Lennon said the arrangement was terrible, but McCartney and Harrison felt this was the best track on Abbey Road. This was the first use of a Moog synthesizer on any recording. Harrison had the instrument specially made, and did his best to figure it out. The 2006 Love album, which is a soundtrack to the Beatles Cirque du Soleil show of the same name, features an a capella version of this song. The album contains 26 tracks which are made up of 130 separate recordings - some are just a chord or two, and some tracks are superimposed on other tracks. (thanks, Bertrand - Paris, France) Paul McCartney wrote this about a fan who broke into his house. Diane Ashley claims it was her: "We found a ladder in his garden and stuck it up the bathroom window which he'd left slightly open. I was the one who climbed up and got in." Now married with 4 children, Diane keeps a framed photo of herself with Paul on her kitchen shelf and looks back on her days as an Apple Scruff with affection: "I don't regret any of it. I had a great time, a really great time." (thanks, Mike - Darkside of the Moon) Landis Kearnon (known at the time as Susie Landis) gave us the following account: Here, all this time I thought this song was written about me and my friend Judy. What a surprise to learn there was someone named Diane Ashley who put a ladder up to Paul's house and climbed in through the bathroom window. This and the bit about "quit the police department" being inspired by an ex-cop taxi driver in NYC tells me something I already know about songwriting, which is that many songs are composites. This one obviously was because Diane wasn't the only person having a profound effect on Paul McCartney by crawling in a bathroom window in 1967 (maybe '68 in her case). Judy and I were paid $1500 by Greene & Stone, a couple of sleazy artist managers driving around the Sunset Strip in a Chinchilla-lined caddy limo, to "borrow" the quarter-inch master of "Day In the Life" off of David Crosby's reel-to-reel, drive it to Sunset Sound studios in Hollywood where Greene & Stone duped it, then put it back where we found it at Crosby's Beverly Glen Canyon pad. Crosby was playing with the Byrds that day in Venice so we knew his house was empty. This was the day after a major rainstorm so the back of his house was one big mudslide. We climbed up it, leaving 8 inch deep footprints and, you guessed it, gained access via the bathroom window, leaving behind footprints and a veritable goldmine of forensic matter. We were really nervous and did not make clear mental notes of how the master reel was on the player, but did have the sense to leave Crosby's front door unlocked while we drove across town and back. After the tape was back on the machine (badly) we changed out of our muddy shoes, drove to the Cheetah in Venice, and hung out with the Byrds into the evening, thinking we were awfully clever and cute. We did not know why Greene & Stone would pay so much money for a copy of a Beatles song, other than the fact that is was a groundbreaking and mind-blowing piece, but found out the next day when we heard "A Day In the Life" on KHJ, I think it was. Greene & Stone had used it as payola to get one of their groups, The Cake, singing "Yes We Have No Bananas," on the air. Which they did, and it sucked, but oh well. By the following day "A Day In the Life" was no longer on the air. And just a day or two after that there was a front page blurb in the LA Times about "A Day In the Life" getting aired one month prior to the release date of the single and the Sergeant Pepper LP, which apparently cost the Beatles plenty and they were suing Capitol or Columbia, whichever the label was, for $2 million... and McCartney was flying in from London to deal with the mess. Oops. Judy and I nearly sank through the floor. Though we were active "dancers" in the various nightclubs on the Sunset Strip, we lay low for a while, not knowing what to expect. In fact, other than a song being written and a GREAT cover by Joe Cocker, nothing happened. We got our money, spent it on groovy clothes, of course (what else was there?) and never heard a word about it. I was the salt of the earth, I was hard, and the last of the independents. And in the breath from my chest I was blowing kerosene, My lips and fingertips were stone, I wore my heart on my jeans. I sang the blues like the dogs left too long in the street, I still sing the blues with the dogs. And I got half a mind to let it all burn up in this fire, I've had been burning through my veins since I first learned to cry. I'd watch this whole night come down and never miss her again. I never felt right and never fit in, Walking in my own skin. Now I got scars like the number of stars, my head's full of vipers. I got the dust of the desert in my bones, coming through the amplifiers. Between the minor chord fall and the fourth and the fifth, It's a broken Hallelujah and a pain in my fist. I wash my hands like the man with the blood on his teeth, Over and over without relief. And I got nothing for you darling but a story to tell, About the rain on the pavement and the sound as it fell. I'd watch this whole night come down and never miss her again. I never felt right and never fit in. Walking in my old man shoes, with my scientist heart. I got a fever and a beaker and a shot in the dark. I need a Cadillac ride, I need a soft summer night, Say a prayer for my soul Senorita. Because I've been dying out here in the cold and the snow. I got a picture of you, Mama, to remind me of home. On the hood of a Dodge on a Saturday night, Say a prayer for my soul, Senorita. moreResolved Question: How to begin writing songs?
I'm a good musician but I've never been someone who writes down or comes up with ideas for a song. Right now I'm determined to get started but I just don't know how. I listen to music a lot, seeing what makes it tick so I know stuff but I don't know how to start. And all the good bands have their own personal style, how can I find mt own. I still don't know if I want to do some dub reggae fatness black seeds music or funky as chilies style. Where to start? And how do I write lyrics? What are some topics (except love obviously) to write about/?And how to get that effect most good songs have (I don't know how to explain it but) where they focus on one small thing eg instead of I love you it'd be your smile makes me feel whatever or ain't no sunshine when she's gone. These are the lyrics I am curious about: "I tipped the scaffold and laughed until I fell, Girl if you need me, grab another from the well. I can't imagine what hell has in store, but I know if I'm there I won't wander anymore." It's from the song "Wanderlust." I've drowned my conscience and cast another stone. I took to preaching while dancing on the COALS. I can't see where I've been and only god knows where I'll be. But there must be a place for a wretch like me. Oh, lord knows I'm tired, But I won't rest my head until I'm home. And if my hands find themselves another body, well, You can't blame them for trying to keep warm. Morals are simply a matter of time, And where you lay your head's a question of pride. But when it's said and done you'll find in the LINES, That privilege and wit MADE me misfortune's child. Can't tell collapse that it needs to slow down. Can't tell death that it shouldn't come around. And when they take my head and put it on a stake, I know that guilt and disgrace keep the dead man awake. Bartering your VIGOR for a paralyzing love, What have you done? I TOOK the scaffold and laughed until I fell. Girl if you need me, grab another from the well. I can't imagine what hell MIGHT HAVE in store, But I know ONCE I'm there I won't wander anymore. Oh, lord knows I'm tired, But I won't rest my head until I'm home. And if my hands find themselves another body, well You can't blame them for trying to keep warm. Oh, lord knows I'm weak, But I can't clear my head if I'm asleep. Morals are simply a matter of TIME, And where you lay your head's a question of pride. But when it's said and done you'll find in the LINES, That privilege and wit MADE me misfortune's child Can't tell collapse that it needs to slow down. Can't tell death that it shouldn't come around. And when they take my head and put it on a stake, I know that guilt and disgrace keep the dead man awake. We've lived under this dark cloud forever. Waited for the bad LUCK to break. Just let me TRY that one again, With a little more feeling. We slept at the crossroads together, TRYING to make an honest mistake. Just let me TRY that one more time, Without a smile on my face. ANOTHER the road is empty. As every promise is. If life is pointless, then point taken, say amen. So light another candle and PUT my body out to sea, Because your heart is no place for a wretch like me. Another stranger passing. A common dissonance. If life is pointless, then point taken, say amen. So light another candle and PUT my body out to sea, Because your side is no place for a wretch like me. When they unearth these passages, Will I appear to be proud? Not if you're listening close enough. Not if you're sounding it out. moreOpen Question: Am I a strict mother?
I have a 16 year old step son (that Ive raised since he was 6 years old) . His natural mother left him and now its me and his father. He is counting down the days till he can move out. He thinks I am to strict but I think I have a good balance. I believe that you get freedom with trust. He has made too many wrong choices in the past year for me to trust him... for example, breaking into my house with a friend to watch porn, going in some strangers basement when he said he was going "skateboarding" outside (which I would have let him go over to if he had just called to ask permission)., making out in front of the school Car line (then when told not to do it again he did again anyway in front of teachers and parents)! Found in a letter he was "cutting" himself (when we approached him with it he said he only did it twice and doesnt do it anymore). Im wondering if he lied about that for attention.Hiding every girlfriend he has(which yes he is allowed to have one if he introduces her and does it the right way)., doesnt talk very much, likes to argue everything, goes through my things when Im gone, lies, sneaky, dark drawings and words like "fail" etc., found down graphic dirty lyrics from rap songs on paper (someone at school is letting him hear music that we dont have in the house, then he writes it down...I found that to be strage), and at times disrespectful (has said FU to me). I know all teens go through a rebellious stage but its driving me crazy, because Im always suspicious of what he's doing and cant rust him right now. I told him he needs to start making good choices (and passing every class in school) if he wants some freedom and earn his trust back (but that it cant happen over night). I need to see consistency. I wont even let him "jog" around the neighborhood with that other boy he gets in trouble with cause I think they're gonna sneak off and do something else. Am I over reacting or would you too keep a close eye on this kid? I have expectations for all my kids. I know because I came from a home that had no rules and I got in to a lot of trouble. Its not like make him a prisoner of his own house (only if hes grounded). He gets to do a lot of fun stuff, have friends over, goes out with his friends, but now Im starting to worry if he cant be trusted with the minor things how will he be trusted with the big stuff in life? Its like every time I give him an inch he takes a mile. Now he says as soon as he turns 18 he's moving out cause he hates rules. Which by the way he will still be in high school when he's 18 years old. I told him that if thats what he want we can not financially support him any longer. If he wants to leave because he hates rules and wants to live like an adult then he can have all the "adult responsibilities that come with it." It breaks my heart as a mom that he would want to learn the hard way. He's an intelligent boy and could get great grades, , and land him self a scholarship to a great University if he wants to, and have a great future. What concerns me is he has no drive or motivation. My husband says that if he wont take our advice that he'll learn the hard way in life. I believe while teen are still in school its your job to make sure they dont fail in school (or should I let him if he wants to screw off). Some people say if you let your kid fail they'll grow up and learn from it. I feel like if I give up on his grades then Ive failed him as a parent. Raising teens is so confusing!!! Im trying to get a hold of a councilor to get him some help. Im also ready How to raise teen books!!! Any good advice would be much appreciated. God Bless moreOpen Question: Help on song lyrics that i'm writing?

You do not need to make the connection I can do that but just by pointing to the direction will be beneficial thanks!!!! Growth... In King Oedipus, Oedipus is a youthful proud, respected and powerful king who is blinded to the truth. However, when he discovers the truth about himself he becomes a blinded man who needs a stick or the help of others to move. It seems that Oedipus loses his youthfulness in an instant and becomes aged with the discovery of his own shortcomings, weaknesses, frailties and blindness to the truth. Extent of fate and free will... In King Oedipus we learn that although fate has been predetermined somewhat humans are not incapable of controlling their destiny as small choices can change the course of destiny and fate. Throughout our life we have choices that will either lead us towards our predetermined fate or change the course of our fate but it all depends on us and our choices. Human Greatness... In King Oedipus we learn that power, position and wealth do not show human greatness as they can be taken away in an instant but rather that human greatness lies within and is seen from a person’s ability to handle suffering, to accept the truth no matter how painful and willing to be responsible for one's actions. Cost of knowing the future... In King Oedipus we learn that knowing the future can be costly as it is the one element that will eventually lead to one’s fate coming true. This is because one will try whatever he can to ensure or avoid his fate but will end up doing just that. This is seen when Oedipus and his birth parents knowing the future try to change its course but instead they end up paving the way for their fate. Denial /Truth is often painful ... In King Oedipus we learn that, what is will always be no matter how we try to avoid it. We learn that if we are able to accept the truth in the beginning we will be able to deal with it better and it will cause less suffering then if we continue to deny it, let it grow and let it eat us up inside because once we realize the truth after denial it will be too late and this will be the least draw which will lead to ones destruction Blindness and Sight... In King Oedipus we learn that one can be physically blind but still able to see the truth and one can have sight but be blind to the truth. It can be said that truth is not realized by sight but by feeling, accepting and understanding. moreResolved Question: What is a peoples favourite song by Paul Hardcastle?

It was different in many ways, as so were those that did the fighting In World War II, the average age of the combat soldier was 26 In Vietnam it was 19 In-in-in-in-in-in-in Vietnam, it was 19 In in-in-in-in-in-in Vietnam it was 19 In in-in-in-in-in-in Vietnam he was 19 n-n-n-n nineteen The shooting and fighting of the past two weeks continued today 25 miles north-west of Saigon I wasn't really sure what was going on Nininini Nineteen, 19, Ni-nineteen 19 19,19,19,19 In Vietnam, the combat soldier typically served a twelve month tour of duty But was exposed to hostile fire almost everyday Ninininininininininin 19 nininininninin 19 Ninininininininininin 19 nininininninin 19 In Saigon, a U.S military spokesman said today more than 700 enemy troops were killed last week in that sensitive border area. Throughout all of South Vietnam, the enemy lost a total 2689 soldiers. All those who remember the war They won't forget what they've seen Destruction of men in their prime Whose average was 19 De-de-de-de-de-de-de-destruction De-de-de-de-de-de-de-destruction According to a Veteran's Administration study, half of the Vietnam combat veterans suffered from what psychiatrists call Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder Many vets complain of alienation, rage, or guilt Some succumb to suicidal thoughts Eight to ten years after coming home, almost eight hundred thousand men are still fighting the Vietnam War None of them received a heroes' welcome Dedededededede-Destruction Ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni- Nineteen, 19, Ni-nineteen 19 19,19,19,19 Ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni-ni- Nineteen, 19, Ni-nineteen 19 19,19,19,19 Vietnam S-S-Saigon Vietnam S-S-Saigon Vietnam S-S-Saigon Vietnam S-S-Saigon Purple heart Saigon Purple heart Saigon I wasn't really sure what was going on I wasn't really sure what was going on moreVoting Question: In pop music/pop culture..What is "Love"?
There's an underground term known as "love" which appears in nearly every music video. If you listen to the lyrics of pop songs, they're all singing about "love". And it's not the love you're thinking of. This kind of "love" in a music clip often comes with reccuring visual elements. Have you ever noticed that in nearly every music video they use tracers on things? Like you see the image, then see it's outline a lil beside it? or have you noticed the use of mirror-image visual fx? It's a metaphor for something, but I don't exactly understand what. Do you?? I think there's some sort of alternative "lifestyle" that people are living, where they're trying to live in the "sun". If you understand this sentence at all, contact me. I really need to know what this is, its been months since I've noticed this weird pattern in music/music video's and I still dont exactly know what theyre talking about. It's not a delusion, trust me. Take a look at lets say.... ANY music video, and you'll start to notice what I have, seriously.. Even if you havn't figured out what it is yet either, have you noticed it? It's pretty fuckin obvious once you take notice of the tracers and the way they use "love" as a metaphor. moreOpen Question: I need ideas on what to draw!!?
In my art class, we're doing a project where we write our favorite song lyrics on a paper and on 1 half of the paper, we draw things associated with the lyrics and on the other half we use pictures to make a collage associated with the lyrics. I chose these lyrics: And as we wind on down the road Our shadows taller than our soul There walks a lady we all know Who shines white light and wants to show How everything still turns to gold And if you listen very hard The truth will come to you at last When all are one and one is all To be a rock and not to roll I need ideas on what to draw and what pictures to use for this. Can someone help me? moreResolved Question: What do you think of this album review? (10 POINTS UP FOR GRABS)?
Hey guys. So I want to be a music journalist and I'm trying to gain experience by writing record reviews and writing about bands. Can u tell me what you think of this review? (regardless if you disagree with the review or don't like the band at all) just tell me if it's what you'd expect if you were reading a music review in a magazine, online, etc. Darkhorse Record Review Nickelback has found itself in a familiar spot that most groups land in when trying to produce a follow up to an album of major success. With the release of the Albertan quartet's sixth studio album, Darkhouse, Nickelback was obviously scraping the bottom of the barrel to produce a record worthy of selling in stores. The album features a barrage of sex infested tracks that fail to impress and come across as a strip club playlist. Stand out tracks that are worthy of some praise include Burn It To The Ground, a high energy shot of what hard rock should sound like and I'd Come For You, a heartfelt ballad that brings us back to the "Far Away" days. To be fair to the band, only about two thirds of the album is a total disappointment. The majority of the lyrics lack substance though. After so many excellent records, you come to expect more from such a strong group. It feels as though they got lost between trying to emulate Buckcherry and Kid Rock. Let's put it this way, if Buckcherry and Kid Rock were to reproduce, Dark Horse would be their offspring. moreOpen Question: Google has failed me. Broken Bells? What the heck is this song?
"Cycle down in the belly of the ocean Why'd he ever notice it is sucking up? Rise up and sound this state That everything else in this world can be broken When the scalding flow closes the distance Up from the devil then seeping out Your tiny vengeful life might pass through my mind But I blink and it's over It's coming Wait for it Re-dawning No contest All of a sudden Your Body and Soul Will call a grave You've been avoiding This city Your culture Your modern day suffering Is over So what if I love it I can't help it That's all Several times in the glimpse of our intentions I turned the stone and found a brand you light I can from no more words as I cannot dare see no drama washing me over Will someone measure this moron now? I'm back in this one light town I cut the tie and I don't have to rely on nothing and no more It's coming Wait for it Re-dawning No contest All of a sudden Your Body and Soul Will call a grave You've been avoiding This city Your culture Your modern day suffering Is over So what if I love it I can't help it That's all." These are what I think the lyrics are. Google thinks instead of it saying "Your modern day suffereing" that it says "Your mother is suffering". If you have the song, it's not at all what it sounds like. The song database I got it from says it is called "The Mall and The Misery" by Broken bells, but the song lyric sites think is "October" by Broken Bells has the words "The Mall and The Misery" in them. It would make most sense that the song is called "Your Modern Day Suffering" if I was right, but I can't find that either. As far as iTunes previews go, I can not find this song at all, and it doesn't look like Broken Bells has even said they were selling it. What gives? Side note: Yes I know it hasn't come out yet. And yes I did pre-order it from iTunes so I can get the full album plus the LP. Side side note: I can not at all find the song Citizen Thanks for any info! moreOpen Question: Is there a Band or Musical Artist that inspires you?
Is there a Band or Musical Artist that inspires you because of there back story or just over all? Why? Mine is a singer named Yui. She's only one year older than me, but she's already made a big name for herself. I met her once before she was famous while she was playing as a street performer. She inspires me because she pursued her dream of being a musician and made it come true. She even dropped out of school tp make her dream come true. I'm not saying people don't need school, but sometimes you just have to take a risk in order to fulfill your dreams. This is one of my favorite songs by her: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMfr23ijoRM Here are the lyrics: http://www.jpopasia.com/lyrics/22205/yui/again.html Here's her bio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yui_(singer) moreResolved Question: Hip Hop Lyrics... Rate my rhymes please?
Just started writing wanna get an idea of what people think Thanks... I call it SEQUEL One day i woke up and my mind had changed, felt kinda weird uncommon and strange. Like something new had entered my brain, decided to go with it and play the game. As the daily times rolled by, i had this odd itch to stop gettin high. It felt great i was blazed off life, put down the light and i pick up the mic. Like a new found miracle, my lyric sound is spiritual. Words come out in a motion like the ocean, inspiration and devotion is the potion to my flowin. Like a blessing in disguise, this world through my eyes. All new and fresh helps relieve the stress, its a test of the best nah no test, im better then the rest. My minds fluctuating no more frustrating, im debating on degrading the rating. Its unfair how i throw my rhymes in the air, there not fit to be there. They just are wont take them very far, don't wanna be a star. I don't need to be, it doesn't seem fair to me, the money these whack ass rappers see. No one truly sees it like i do, but soon reality will find you. No it wont your never gonna see, how i want this world to be. So unfair and unequal, This planet needs a sequel moreResolved Question: How should I put my passions and talents to use?
I don't mean to sound egotistical in this, but I have some talents im passionate about. ..and I dont know what I can do once Im older. My main life goal is to inspire those who are struggling. Mainly teens. I'm a visionary. I'm good at drawing, following proportions, but it's hard to come up with a vision myself. I'm good at creating lyric bits. But I can never put them into a song. I'm good at singing as well, love to. Always have. I'm a metaphoric thinker, so it helps with the lyrics. I was thinking of becoming a song writer, creating and singing music therapy. But I can never put my lyrics together to form a song. It sounds a bit unrealistic though, what do you think? Any other ideas?Adam D, I am a visionary. I sometimes can't bring them out onto paper is all. I dont know why. moreResolved Question: What song are these lyrics from?
A long time ago, on my old computer, I had a song with these lyrics, but now I can't find it anywhere online. Does anyone know it? The lyrics that I remember are as follows: "Cuz the 'get some' is the reason that we came. When we gonna get to the good stuff, to the headrush, to the stuff that hits you harder?" Thansk! As far as I can tell yes, it's Sid Maudlin. I am having so much trouble downloading it though! I can't even find it on iTunes. moreResolved Question: what do you think of these lyrics>?

You can hate me but come'on, I bet if they weren't a group, only one would get signed - the GZA.Half of there members have no talent lyric wise. Also, the 36 chambers album lyrically isn't that eye-popping and I bet if it came out after illmatic, it wouldn't be hailed as one of the best. My question is since I didn't grow up in this era, what did the Wu-tang bring to the game?Ghostface killah uses nursery rhymes Masta Killa wasn't even a rapper ODB = WTF U-God is weak Method Man- Hey, you, get off my cloud You don't know me and you don't know my style Who be gettin flam when they come to a jam? both are amazing, but i cant decide. you should listen and watch, i think a thread cut with a carving knife has better lyrics but one more night would be easier for the class to comprehend. a thread cut with a carving knife-stars http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_aAAeDOxh4 It was a hot and sultry afternoon Sometime at the end of June We had collapsed ourselves in shade somewhere To conclude our love affair But it was too damn hot to speak that much It felt easier to touch So we forgot to fall apart that day And the next day It was a cold and endless sky above When he decided he was through with love The leaves were piles of skeletons And he was only skin and bones And then he went to the bridge so he could fall And drop down far away from it all But the water looked so black and deep That he closed his eyes and he went to sleep Til the next day The snow fell hard from five to five You had to drink to stay alive But you were hoping it would kill you too At least you'd have something changing you Cause you were cold as the ice at your front door You raised a trembling glass and shouted, "Fuck the war!" And then you fell into oblivion Lying on your bed with your shoes on Til the next day Baby close your eyes until tomorrow It could bring joy it could bring sorrow But it will come sure as light Try not to dream a dream tonight Imagine that you're standing here And suddenly you disappear A thread cut with a carving knife That is what they call our life Baby close your eyes until tomorrow It could bring joy it could bring sorrow But it will come sure as light Try not to dream a dream tonight Imagine that you're standing here And suddenly you disappear A thread cut with a carving knife That is what they call our life one more night-stars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXFVOv8obBQ Try as he might, he's unable to speak He grabs her by the hair, he strokes her on the cheek The bed is unmade, like everything is Dark little heaven at the top of the stairs Take me like that, ruin it all Then build it again, by the light in the hall He drops to his knees, says, "Please, my love, please I'll kill who you hate, take off that dress, you won't freeze" One more night, that was a good one One more night, I dreamed it was good one (one more) One more night, that was a good one One more night, the end should be a good one A good one He starts with her back, because thats what he sees When she's breaking his heart, she still fucks like a tease Release to the sky, look him straight in the eye And tell him, right now, that you wish he would die You'll never touch him again, so get what you can Leaving him empty, just because he's a man So good when it ends, they'll never be friends One more night, thats all they can spend in moreResolved Question: What do you think of my poem?
Okay well i'm in 6th grade and we're having a poetry contest and here's mine: Passed down from the false days of those generations. It came to rid us of all human purity. Closing out from reality, why do there voices still echo? In this earth, where will I find the strength?... UNINSTALL UNINSTALL Am I really one of the uneeded bodies, that inhabit this black and white earth? It's something i'm having trouble hearing. UNINSTALL Hiding behind the wall i've built throughout the years I will pretend to know, no anger UNINSTALL Trapped in a dark room for years to go by. I had no real connection to human life. Will this chained heart, Have an impulse to destroy everything? Will the words from the pass seasons reverberate? UNINSTALL UNINSTALL Replace the shadow of me with present times, gladly will I continue to, UNINSTALL With the hands that hold guilt in everyway I will inhumanly UNINSTALL... UNINSTALL UNINSTALL Time passes by quickly, for one who does not inhabit this world But is merely an illusion. UNINSTALL I'll keep hiding behind the wall that formed Pretending to be a robot who knows no anger. UNINSTALL It's called UNINSTALL as you can probably see ^^ Is it good? =D Thanks for your comments XD Common criticism proudly accepted. Also I was writing lyrics so it sorta came to me for a poem :P Thank You! moreResolved Question: Rate my lyrics please.....(scale 1-10)?
Tupac said the west side is the best side, More like the Un-rest side, full of pesticide For stupid kids to get high, and to help fit in Mine was best done inside, injecting heroin It’s really not an outside thing, rollin without any pain Because when I have that needle, I no longer need people I’m free to be evil, as my eyes swell up like an eagle But after a month I refuse to even look in the mirror Because it makes it realer, I’m no longer just a dealer How did this happen, I’m not suppose to be the user I deal, steal, and eat microwave meals, my god what a loser What have I become, I am a f**king monster on the roam I need to go to fosters home for imaginary friends, Because in the end, I don’t think I’ll ever feel real again I’m looking in the mirror; I’m no longer a dealer Seeing things much clearer, seeing thing’s much realer I got a hand on a needle, looking like Sméagol I always said, when I put that gun to my head “Should I pull the trigger on this deagle, or continue to be evil?” I’m about to dive into a pool of acid rain; it gives me pain But Novocain, and cocaine will make it go away I’m struggling during the day, and nights no better Up at 3 in a sweater, coming down, fighting the urge to sleep Because I just have bad dreams, I wake up to my own screams And now it seems, that I’m coming apart at the seems I’m being tortured by my past fiends, so please leave me be I don’t want anymore enemy’s, I’m trying to be friendly Someone get me outta here in ether a Bentley or a sneaker I’m being bleak here, so keep clear, and I’ll be here Waiting on the first to seize me, the first to see me Ether a producer, or the grim reaper I’m looking in the mirror; I’m no longer a dealer Seeing things much clearer, seeing thing’s much realer I got a hand on a needle, looking like Sméagol I always said, when I put that gun to my head “Should I pull the trigger on this deagle, or continue to be evil?” I’m up on the 18th story ledge, with a nine to my head Remembering how everyone’s dead, remembering what Cody said, “Life is a roller-coaster, up, down, up, down and then it drops” I can see down below; all the cops yelling don’t do it You got a lot to live for don’t blow it, so it comes to this I’m not very impressed, looking back at how much I messed up When I became fed up, and started dealing rocks, Suddenly the gun pops, and everything stops, my life, flashes be fore my eyes Then it’s all white, and then my brothers at my side, And I can’t stop cryin, which is fine, because finally died That’s when I wake up inside a room full of doctors at bedside Telling me they removed the bullet just in time, Any longer and I would have kissed this whole world goodbye So I start to cry Un-lucky to be alive. I’m looking in the mirror; I’m no longer a dealer Seeing things much clearer, seeing thing’s much realer I got a hand on a needle, looking like Sméagol I always said, when I put that gun to my head “Should I pull the trigger on this deagle, or continue to be evil?” moreVoting Question: Poety/lyrics to a song that im writing is it any good?
