Though both very good friends, both are quite envious of the heroes and are constantly trying to steal the spotlight for themselves, but are both always unsecessful. Who wins? Both are supremely obese villains who have been the main enemy to the protagonists since the beggining of both franchises, and are still huge parts of the franchises today. Both are famous for kidnapping the hero's lovers in order to get to the hero but are always defeated in the end. Both are goof balls who are sometimes both laughed at by the protagonists instead of actually taken seriously. Both have had more than one name over the years (Pete has also had names such as Mighty Pete, Peg-Leg Pete, Bad Pete, Big Pete, Big Bad Pete, Black Pete, Bootleg Pete, Mr. Peter Pete and Dr. Eggman has also been known as Dr. Robotnik). Daisy Duck vs Rouge the Bat- The two lovers for the rather hot-headed allies. Both have tendencies to charm their ways into their lover's hearts and eventually make them blush. Frank McCourt has proved to us this past offseason that the fans of Los Angeles mean nothing to him. Yes getting to the NLCS two years in a row is huge but back before Fox cursed the Dodgers, fans of this franchise expected World Series titles. But this offseason The Dodgers could have acquired at least on two seperate occasions, frontline starters. And they didn't. With pitching the obvious weakness in the Playoffs, the Dodgers did nothing to improve. Now you're going to sit there and tell us Frank McCourt that you did everything you could to improve your pitching staff? That your divorce is not putting this team in a financial headlock? That Ned Colleti, a man who doesn't get enough credit for the smart trades he's made to win these last few years has suddenly lost the knack to sign good players or pull of a trade to get a Cliff Lee or a Roy Halliday? No way Frank. I'm not buying it. So go ahead and slap us in the face and treat us like we're all so dumb that we can't see your hand in the lack of moves this past offseason. This team was close and is still close if you could get some help in that rotation. The bullpen will right itself once you have a starter or two or three that can pitch past the 5th inning. It's a darn shame that the Dodgers aren't competing year in and year out for MLB supremecy with the Yankees and Red sox. Because they show nothing but Northeastern Teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies, and Mets are the only games you see on ESPN. Heaven forbid if they show a team from the Central or Western Divisions because they start late at night and end after midnight. I can understand the time differences, but personally I think ESPN doesnt care about teams in the Central or Western Divisions. Heck even during their Spring Training preview shows, they only focus on the Grapefruit league and they are going to completely ignore the teams in the catus league. Did you know that ratings of World Series that didnt feature teams from the East Coast are incredibly low. I mean look at the 2005 and 2006 World Series, they will go down as two of the most forgettable world series ever because the matchup featured teams exclusively in the Central Division, which by the way are the worst divisions in their respective leagues. Baseball loves to talk about how great the 2001 World Series was but completely ignore the 2002 World Series, which I think was one of the greatest World Series this decade but you will never hear anything about it because it featured two West Coast teams. People are already saying that the 2009 World Series was the greatest World Series in the 2000-2009 decade. They only say that because it featured the Phillies and the Yankees. If it was the Twins and the Brewers, in that world series the games probably wouldn't be broadcasted. Roaming the Rocks Our car eases into the sandy parking spot on the edge of the beach. As soon as my hand releases the door handle and I step outside, I digest not only the refreshing gusts of wind, but also the familiar scenery and unvarnished memories. I follow my parents hesitantly through the sand, trying to preserve the nonexistent tidiness of my beloved Converse. We make our way through the break wall where my relaxation will begin. The break wall is an escape from the sounds of “The Price is Right”, Fox News, and various Lifetime movies ringing throughout my grandparent’ house. It is too late to stroll the quaint Main Street, but too bright to explore constellations from the sand dunes. It is time to tantalize the waves of Lake Michigan. I take off my socks and shoes and hand them to my mother. She and my father play it safe on the strip. I head toward the excitement. I head toward my favorite part of Ludington. I head toward the rocks. The rocks were not a part of the beach when my parents were growing up here. They were put into the lake helter skelter to shore up the break wall because of erosion. Jumping from rock to rock is my tradition, despite my age. I place one foot onto the cool, jagged surface, and soon follow that with the other foot. While standing on the mammoth of concrete, I observe the intent fishermen and the bright blue sky about to be dyed by the sunset. I feel the exhale of the fresh breeze scatter each strand of my hair. I hear the waves lapping against the anchors that I will soon be scattering across. I curl my toes around the edge of the boulder and crouch to approach the next slab. Grasping the adjacent rock, I am able to leap and land one step closer to the finish line. I continue this pattern until I get into an accustomed rhythm. This lasts until the jubilance and adrenaline from the ability to be brave and jeopardize my safety turns into a familiar feeling of defeat. Not even my intense focus and determination can carry my over the severely askew stones. My father instinctively abandons his duties of supervising my mother’s movements and lets me borrow his hand for assistance and relief. Once the jumbled, hazardous rocks return to a placement within my skill level, my father reappears at my mother’s side. I remain in a trance of maneuvers. Right hand, then left hand, followed by left foot with right hand after that. This sequence continues until I run out of rocks. I have to join the rest of the public and promenade along the distinguished pathway of the Ludington Harbor Lighthouse. Once we reach the structure, my father begins to reminisce about the stories that his father reminisces about. He discusses the absence of my grandfather’s camera when he was able to venture inside and climb to the top of the lighthouse for the first time in 77 years, and how in his youth, he jumped off into the water from a platform on the lighthouse. We stand and absorb the soothing air and the peaceful landscapes for a few moments before heading back. I return to my routine on the rocks, listening to the waves and avoiding the fishermen. We climb back into our car and I brush the coarse sand off of my feet. We then leave the tranquil, satisfying beach behind us and drive back to the kingdom of wood paneling, playing cards, and Court TV. Should I cut out the part about my grandpa?There is no prompt for this essay. I used this essay for a memoir project in english last year and my parents really want me to reuse it. It would be nice to not have to write another essay, but it just doesn't really read like a college app essay to me yet. I want to make sure that it says a lot about me. It annoyed me that in the ALDS both games in LA between the Angels and Sox started at 9:30. Resolved Question: Don't you think that it's dumb for TBS to have every playoff series?

The time slots have been so stupid for the first round! Tonights game with the Phillies and Rockies started at 10 pm East Coast time!!! By the time the game ended (and it was a good one and nail biter) it was like 2 am in Philadelphia!!! I'm not a Philly fan and I even think that this was unfair to the Phillies fans who had to stay up to watch the dang game on a Sunday night. On the West Coast the Angel game vs. the Red Sox started at 9 am!!! I really think that FOX or ESPN should have taken over at least the American League or National League side of the playoff instead of letting TBS get them all. It was so stupid and I'm so glad that it's almost over. more
