Open Question: Bad Parenting or a mental disorder with a 2 year old?
My friend had a daughter who just turned two. She's the cutest sweetest innocent thing and I love being around her. I recently found out that Im 9 weeks pregnant myself. I ordered some books and keep reading magazines, but it seems the more I read them, the more it seems raises an eyebrow to me. Just a few things that caught my eye about her daughter: - She's 2 and still on a bottle. If given a sippie cup, she'll tip it upside down. - She stays home with her approx. 3 days out of the week. - Her child does not respond to "no" or her name. - I believe she thinks her grand mother is her mother - She is REALLY hard to handle. (EXTREMELY) - She says not a word. Not momma, not dadda, not hello, not bye. Nothing. These are just some of the things I noticed. I believe its a mix of both parenting and maybe a disorder but Im not certain. Im carrying my first child and and Im new to this stuff. Im relatively young at that. What do you think? Should i say something? How to do it? moreResolved Question: TEEN MOM FANS: Who is your favorite from the show :)?
I am a big TEEN MOM fan only because it is a great show to teach younger kids these days on how hard it is to raise a child in this world. & how to give it up for adoption. *Catelynn & Tyler(I didnt feel it was right she moved in with Tyler. Moving in with him isnt good because I feel you should only move in if your married or engaed-but we all have opinions) *MACI :) Well she is from TN, and I live 45 from there! LOVE HER.. She is strong and doesn't need a guy who can't act mature. Soo glad she found a new guy.. It is in the US Magazine this week! The story of her new guy. I must get a copy of that haha! *As for the other two! Farrah should have moved in with her sister or out a long time ago. I dont like her mom! Amber should have been done with Gary, Honestly from the last season, who buys food from a restuarant then says oh I cooked it.. Hello anyone can tell that was Cracker Barrell food not homemade! But those are my thoughts.. What are yours? Please feel free to say whatever you like. I am going for the best answer! moreResolved Question: Would you do these things in Wal Mart? Hello. I am currently working on two projects and many side projects. I have let friends and associates read excerpts from my works but it's hard to get anything more than "oh it's good" , "it's really long..." (-.- it's going to be a novel, it's supposed to be long), or finally "oh..I liked it." I am looking to maybe start talking to someone or to start a group where serious writers get together via yahoo im, skype or even aim and just chat and receive pointers, feedback, or whatever else they are looking for. I am more partial to darker works..I would give an example but the only thing that comes to mind is Edgar A. Poe and maybe some works that I have read in a magazine called: Morbid Curiosity. If you write fiction, fantasy, dark fiction or paranormal romance stories I would definitely be interested in talking with you. Send me an email at the.sylence@yahoo.com moreOpen Question: Do anyone knows about Movemeant Sales Inc or Enterprise?

Hello all, I am going to be a senior in high school in America; in southern California, to be exact, and I want to go to a university in London. I'm not even thinking about Oxbridge; it's far out of my league, but I was looking at all of the constituent colleges of the University of London; particularly King's College, Queen Mary, Royal Holloway, and Goldsmiths. I was also thinking about the University of East London as well as Kingston, Middlesex, and Westminster. I was wondering if anyone could, giving my qualifications, predict my chances of getting into any of these universities. Thanks very much! I am an International Bacchalaurete candidate; I am a fully-fledged candidate for the diploma; and for both my junior year (this previous year) as well as my senior year, I will be taking three Standard Levels and three Higher Levels. I am captain of my school's debate team, president of the Active Earth Club, president of the Politics History club, copyeditor of the school newspaper, copyeditor of the Literary Arts Magazine, a member of the National Honour Society, president of the Junior Statesmen of America, and captain/scholastic team member of the Academic Decathlon team. In addition, I am head intern opinion columnist for the local newspaper, the Village News. I also play guitar, piano and harmonica and am self-taught in all of those instruments. In addition, I taught myself calligraphy, basic French, thus giving the ability to converse in English, Tagalog, Spanish, and French. I don't mean to be arrogant, but I can also write a killer essay. In the Academic Decathlon competition this year, I wrote an essay which scored a perfect 1000, the highest scoring essay in the state in fifteen years. :) I am vexed only by the grades that I have so far received. I have not yet taken the ACT nor the SAT but I shall take those at the start of my senior year. I took three SAT Subject Tests/SAT II's, and did farely well on US History, Spanish and Literature. My cumulative GPA, unweighted is 3.60, weighted, it is at 4.20. I've received mostly A's and B's throughout my high school career, with the exception of a C minus in AP Calculus BC. My class rank is thirty in a class of about 770. My AP Exam results are as follows: AP European History: 4 AP Calculus BC: 4 AP Calculus AB Subscore: 4 AP Psychology: 4 AP English Composition: 5 So what do you guys think? Do you think that this is good enough? Thank you all very much for the feedback! moreOpen Question: I need some advice. Can some one help me?
Hello, I am a 17 yr old African American kid who has aspired to become a video game designer since the age of 10. Through out my middle and high school year, I have taken art and drawing classes.I don't have prodigy skills of drawing so my art work isn't so great. I also have taken a AP Computer Science class, but found out that programming wasn't for me because I had a bad teacher (seriously) and learning all the computer languages seemed like a long bore, so I flunk the AP exam. I have participated in a competition for game design for my first time in a new school that I transferred to and won first place, so I feel confident that game design is what I want to learn. Though everything seems like i'm on the right path, I have been unsure about going to college because I feel so unprepared. I have read many art design magazines (3D world, 3D artist, etc.) and seen all the expensive programs that they use. Because my parents are immigrants from the 60s and have struggled to make ends meet, I can't afford to buy these programs. I feel like I won't make it to college if I apply like this, while people with all of these skills do. Can someone please give me some advice. I am now in my senior year in high school, so I feel like I need to take some action right now in order to raise my chances of acquiring a better education. If anyone, advisers, teachers, students, or people in the gaming industry can please give me some advice, I would greatly appreciate it. If you are a student going into the gaming and 3D design industry, please If you don't mind sharing how you started or what did you do to get yourself there, if you made money to fund the programs and gear, etc, It would really help. I really don't like the way I am living right now, uncertain and confused, and I NEED some advice that I can follow so I can put myself on a straight path. moreResolved Question: review developments in agricultural machinery?

Hello, I have lived in Los Angeles all my life and was always curious as to who started the Lowrider craze. I see both Blacks and Hispanics driving them and for some reason I thought Hispanics started it. Well, even though I think the consenses is that Hispanics started the trend it was actually a Black club/organization in the Watts area of Los Angeles that has credit for starting the Lowriding craze that we know today. Whites and Hispanics in the 40's and 50's used to throw sacks of dirt or blocks in the trunk in order to lower they're cars but that was just look they were trying to maintain. Whites actually were doing it for a "Rodder" look and Hispanics copied the trend. A family named Ruelas, I believe from L.A. also started to do body work and paint work and perfected the look. The Lowriding we see today started in the 60's in the midst of some turbulant times in Los Angeles. Blacks, working in the aircraft industry, used to take the landing gear hydraulics and adapt them to the suspension of they're cars. Adding the small wheels and tires giving it the familiar Lowrider look we know today. Hispanics have long taken credit for Lowriding presumably because of the way they simply lowered they're cars previous to the 60's. Interestingly, Blacks have never really tried to stake claim to starting the trend. In talking to one car club member in Los Angeles, I was told that it is like many things that started in Black culture. Whether it be the Soul/RB music, the style of dress or speach that many cultures emulate, it's one of those things that you have to expect some cultures to take and try to make they're own. I actually learned a lot from an article that Car Craft Magazine wrote in a magazine I found dated Sep/1970, explaining exactly how it all got started. I was fortunate to ride with one of the oldest car clubs around. The Majestics, a club started by Blacks in Compton California, is now world wide with some of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen and again, I LIVE in Los Angeles. I know that beliefs die hard, but those of you that were as curious as I, chapter closed. moreResolved Question: how do i get a horror suspense or thriller short story published?

Polls: Is this Call for you??? What is your call on this one? Speedy Morris was the basketball coach at LaSalle and they were having a pretty good season. One morning, he was shaving and the phone rang. His wife answered it and called out to him that Sports Illustrated wanted to talk to him. Coach Morris was excited that his team was apparently about to receive national recognition in this famous sports magazine. As a matter of fact, he was so excited that he cut himself with his razor. Covered with blood and shaving lather and running downstairs to the phone, he tripped and fell down the stairs. Finally, bleeding and bruised, he made it to the phone and breathlessly said, "Hello"? The voice on the other end asked, "Is this Speedy Morris"? "Yes, yes!" he replied excitedly. Then the voice continued, "Mr. Morris, for just seventy-five cents an issue, we can give you a one-year subscription to Sports Illustrated." moreResolved Question: I posted my personel in the resume section of Craigslist & got a lot of responses...but is it real?

Tried asking this before and didn't get a lot of answers so I decided to try again. Ok, here it goes I'm going to comic con this year and there's a few people I'd like to meet and get autographs from(and maybe a photo if they have a moment). Anyway, when it comes to meeting someone new I'm kind of shy and nervous at first, but once I get to talking I'm fine but there are times where I do say hello and introduce myself. I try to relax and smile and think about what to say so I don't say or do something stupid/embarrassing and regret it later. Usually if I'm standing somewhere(i.e. like paying for a magazine at a book store) I sometimes start up a small conversation basically simple stuff like the weather for example. But I could use some tips for starting a conversation. Any suggestions? I know I posted a question yesterday about how she stays home when I do but today she have gone crazy! As usual, I was in my study room with my door locked so nobody barge in (like her), she started knocking like crazy and when I opened the door, she threw a magazine right pass me saying that I wanted it (I wanted it days ago and did not ask today), I did not say a word with my face in shock and she started telling me to not cross with her today or else. Is this a threat? :O Now, yesterday and days before that, I has been spending time in my study room, hiding from her and never crossing paths with her. She STILLS get angrier and angrier at me and keep trying to make a fight with me. She almost got one yesterday but I zipped it and said that it was my mistake and ran. I am trying my best to say nothing to her because every word that come out of my mouth is "fighting" with her, even "hello" o_O Now I have to keep my door open because she said she want to come in whenever she wants to and if I dare shut it, she will get really angry. So, I have no privacy now, she can barge in whenever she likes. Right now I so wish my sisters were here but they moved out the second they could. I haven't heard of them yet, they haven't even come over, and I rarely get to see them now so I cannot ask for their help. (Don't have contact with them). What should I do? :(Oh and I cannot leave the house because I live in a remote town with no friends at all. :(I cannot talk to my father, because I am a teenager and obviously, teenagers are just exaggerating and should be ignored when trying to tell about a problem. :( moreResolved Question: I want to model for a teen magazine I read... but... please read and answer! <3 xx?

Yesterday we got rid of a lot of stuff. She thinks she has a use for everything. I was going to throw away a hello kitty notepad and she nearly broke down in tears saying that somebody could use it. She also refuses to get rid of cookbooks (though she never cooks). She also saves magazines dating back from the mid 80', saying they have "recipes". My mom's solution to organization is to file everything. I have to destroy/shred nearly 2 31 gallon storage containers top to bottom of PAPER (bills, canceled checks, etc). Now she refuses to part with these huge storage bins that used to hold everything, that still take up the same space, that they did without all the stuff. What should I do, there is still alot to go, in terms of the house now!?Another thing is she FILES everything. Stupid things, that are available online, or just old!She is 51 I am the 3rd of 4 about to go to college. moreResolved Question: This is my article, and I will mail it to a professor! give me some suggestion!!!thank you a lot !!!?
"Dear XXXXX, Hello. How are you? It's really a privilege to study in your class, and it helps me a lot. You have shown us a video about the XXXXX Aircraft. It is a very beautiful aircraft and has very advanced aerodynamics, I'm very interested in it. About aviation, it has always interested me. When I was young, I was very good at drawing, and always got the first place in competitions. So everybody just said I would be a very good artist. In senior high school, I became very interested in military aircraft, and some of my classmates had the same interests too, maybe because we are really men*. So every weekend we spent a lot of time searching for some news about Chinese aircraft in magazines in a bookstore, and compared our planes with American aircraft. We always spent a lot of time there reading books but never bought anything, what made the shop keeper very unhappy. But that was a good time for us, and at that time I've obtained a lot of basic knowledge about aircraft. At last I gave up the thoughts of becoming an artist, to study about aviation. I graduated at the Nanchang Hangkong University (Nanchang University of Aeronautics), majoring in Aerospace Engineering. When I was in college, I liked to play flight simulators on my computer. It really costs much money for a computer that runs them, but I learned a lot from it. X-Plane 9, Flight Simulator X, DCS: Blackshark and Falcon 4.7 - they are all very good. Some of them have many kinds of airplanes, and they are very realistic. I always tried to introduce people to these simulators, but they all said it's too complicated. Now I need to learn more about it, because I've never tried it the way you have shown in the video. I am also fond of flying RC airplane models, and I've made some kind of airplane models by myself. Some of them flied well, but some crashed. I think my flight skill is good, though. I have a T-Rex 450 clone helicopter, and I can fly it upside down. Once I participated in an innovation competition of my college, and I made a very small flapping-wing UAV. It was weighted less than 10g, with a wingspan of around twenty centimeters. It looked like a big butterfly. Because of its light weight, the stability was a bit unacceptable, and it can't be controlled. The teacher liked it, however, so I got the first place. The following year I found that a student did a flapping-wing aircraft too, much bigger and faster than mine, and it could be controlled. It was really a good job. At that time we communicated a lot. Now at work, we are designing an amphibian aircraft, which will be the largest of its kind in the world. I am in the general arrangement department and currently am responsible for the Environmental Control System layout. Throughout this job I've learnt a lot about this system, and other systems as well. I also stayed in the factory as an intern for some time and learnt the manufacturing and assembly technologies and processes. I've enclosed my college courses and the scores in the attached Excel file for your reference. I am not sure if I am qualified for your University, as you have your own requirements. One thing I forget to tell you is that there is another place in China you really don't want to miss. Here is a website for an introduction: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huangshan_Mountains It's not far from my home. I hope to meet you in China soon. Best Regards, Han" moreVoting Question: Seventeen Magazine freebie of the month?

Hello Linux uses. I'm hoping that you can help me, so please bear with me. I'm thinking of changing over to Linux to get away from this shoddy Microsoft windows. Rather than buy a Linux magazine just yet, I thought I'd get on to you people first, as you can't always believe what you read. Being an oldie, I was more or less brought up with windows. How does it work Compared to windows. Is it a small learning curve or a real big relearning curve. Will it do all that I'm doing now, only better. I've checked the net and found that's it's free to download and use, all though I would pay a donation if it does what I want. I was told it doesn't get viruses ( dam windows does ) haha. I get sick and tired of internet explorer doing it's own thing. So, could someone out there please give me the lowdown on Linux. I'm also told you don't have to keep defraging, could this be also true. The only way I can repay you is to give the best answer 10 point's. Thank you all for listening. Cheers: Eric. moreResolved Question: Loaded longarm magazine in an automobile Virginia?

Hello. I'm a foreigner studying English. I'm in a difficult situation. As long as you answer me, I hope you are a native. But I will welcome whoever you are if you know English well enough. My questions are as follows Recently, I'm reading "Guideposts", which is the Christian magazine. Meanwhile, I met with the sentence that was hard to understand. .............. Get-well cards - many from townspeople we didn't even know. Forget surprised ; I was absolutely stunned! We got enough cards to cover an entire wall of the hospital room. ............... This is part of a story. The author wrote about her (past) experience. She (with her husband) moved to Richwood, Ohio. She didn't feel like part of the community. Then her husband fell ill. She received help from townspeople.; get-well cards (mentioned above), a collection, etc. I don't understand well the 2th sentence, "Forget surprised " I seem to get the meaning of it. But the structure is hard to understand. The author tell the past experience.(so most of the story is written by the past tense) I don't know how I accept "Forget surprised" I wonder how "Forget surprised" is made, and if the expression is commonly used. Long Vent and Question. Read at own risk?
Stress. I hate it. Every time my husband's dad spends any time here, he pisses us both off and we can't vent to him, so we vent to each other whch causes us to fight and it takes so long to get out of the rut. His dad leaves today but Mike is in such a miserable mood and he's taking it out on me, and frankly, I'm sick of it. So, you know I'm in school. I start school just as he's supposed to end work, so he gets off half an hour early. His boss picks him up in the morning, and I pick him up from work. He drops me off at school for 2:00 and then picks me up for 7:45. Except on field trip days. I don't think he understands the concept of field trip days. My program is great, but you can't learn about disabilities and how they affect a person from a textbook alone. Our Community Resources instructor likes us to do field trips to Child Development centres, or Centres for the Disabled, and yesterday to a group home for the disabled (where I met the sweetest 56 year old man with microcephaly!) So that's what we agreed on. I would only take the car to school on days that we have field trips. Well, now Mike's in such a pissy mood because of his father's presence that he's taking it out on me by complaining that I'm always trying to find a way to take the car from him every day. How friggin ridiculous is that?! In the module, we have a lot of field trips and I gave him the list on the first day of school. He was fine with it, and now he's whining "Oh, I had to listen to Grandma complain to me about the arrangement, and now I have to hear you yell at me". Now, to explain that...I called his mom yesterday to ask if she could meet me at his work where I'd switch the car seats out and she'd take him and the kids home while I went to school. She readily agreed. It was only in the parking lot where I was switching the car seats out that she revealed to me that her husband had a doctor's appointment at 2:00 and it was "tight timing". Had I known this ahead of time, I would have arranged something else. I didn't know she was going to turn around and complain to Mike about the arrangement, and so he takes THAT out on me. After our trip to the group home yesterday, our instructor revealed to us that it's her last week with us because she's being laid off, and she wanted to take us on another field trip that she normally would have done in a different module. This is where we go to our local mall and have to find clothes or buy food or coffee blindfolded, so we get an idea of what it's like to be blind. So, I walk in the door last night and what beholds me? Attitude. Mike's sitting on the couch reading a magazine and doesn't bother to look up or say hi. I could tell it was going to be a bad night. Kids come bounding over for hugs and kisses and Mike doesn't budge. I asked him if he got my text message to preheat the oven. He says yes. I go to the kitchen, the oven isn't on. Here we go. I sit down on the couch and the kids come over with books. I said Hello. He says nothing. I ask why he's ignoring me. He says nothing. Finally, I manage to get him to look over at me when I tell him about this field trip strung on us and he flips out about how I'm always finding excuses to take the car from him (which is completely untrue) (This is the same car that is in his name, but I fill up the gas tank every other fill, pay half of the insurance on, and just paid out of my own pocket, no split costs, $454.27 to have fixed)Then he proceeds to make his way to bed just as I'm starting to get the kids ready. So I was on double duty bed time before I even had an opportunity to eat. He comes out right after I finish putting them to bed and is practically falling asleep on the couch. I asked him why he doesn't just go to bed and he says "This is the last night I'm going to see my dad". Understandable, but I told him he's not going to see him anyway when he's looking at the back of his eyelids. This statement comes less than 24 hours after he's nearly in tears telling me that his dad, right in front of him, asked his brother "I thought you said he was going to grow up one day". His dad is ALWAYS talking down to him. This must have really set him off because I sat next to him a few minutes later and he didn't even acknowledge I was there. He just kept staring straight ahead so I got up and told him I was going to bed and did. This morning, I woke up and saw the clock said 5:20am and I nudged him enough toask him if he was going to work. You know what he does? "Oh, you just want to get rid of me, that's it?" His ride comes to get him at 5:30am, I didn't want him to miss his ride! He continues with the stupid car argument from last night. I just don't get it. He's been ignoring and neglecting me since the whole Facebook thing, which I know some of you regrettably saw, as if I did something to hurt him, and he just won't reveal it. I think this has to do with a lot more than a car, that something more is bugging him and so he's trying to pick fights with me. Over the weekend, I came home from shopping for clothes and sandals for Zoe, and he gave me the ignoring treatment again. About 10 minutes later, he said to me "I'm going out". He finally came home 4 hours later and immediately went to have a shower and came out all freshly done and smelled of his cologne, almost as if to hide something.Part of me thought he was cheating, but the other part said no, because he's been cheated on before and wouldn't do that to me, he knows how much it hurts. I also wondered where he'd get the time...then again, is that what he wants the car for? If he doesn't want to be with me anymore, he should just say so. I'll give him a divorce if he wants one and if it will make all of us happy. I just don't understand why he's acting this way. Anyone have any ways to get it out of him? We were fine before his dad came...By the way, the Facebook thing consisted of me posting a question to other wives asking if they would allow their husband's to take off to LA for a weekend, last minute decision, to attend Ronnie James Dio's funeral, while you stay at home with your father-in-law and two kids, one of whom has the chicken pox. His sister's took it way out of context and began attacking me saying I was holding him prisoner and never let him do anything for himself, that I'm a pathological liar, bi-polar (which I'm not) and an abusive and neglectful mother who caused my daughter's disabilities. And he didn't defend me once, instead told me if I had attacked them back, he would have divorced me. Is he looking for an excuse to divorce me?***jnjmommy, unfortunately, we have no choice. It is inconvenient and stressful, having to move our kids and ourselves around to accomodate him, since he won't take the room in the finished basement, but he owns our house. He pay all the bills and house insurance, but his name is still on the ownership. He keeps it that way so that we can't say no to him staying here when he flies in from Hungary.Craig, your response is brutally honest. I've been trying to communicate with him, get him to open up and trying to open up myself. I know communication is our problem. We've been told that both times that we've been in counselling.
