Voting Question: Took pinworm medicine today but I am still totally uncomfortable!?

I went to the doctors today after discovering I had pinworms. He prescribed me Vermox and told me to take it twice a day for three days. I took it at 3 and at 9. However I am still totally uncomfortable. I can hardly sit still because I am itching so bad. I know that I can't itch it because I certainly don't want to spread it again. How long will it take for the medicine to work? I am totally miserable! Is there anything I can do to alleviate the itching/pain until the medicine starts to work?? This whole thing is completely grossing me out as I'm a very clean person! So sorry if this is tmi for anyone :( more

Hi, i found out yesterday that i have threadworms. I went to the doctors in the morning and was prescribed medication containing mebezo...something or other. Anyways, i've taken the tablet and am waiting the two weeks for the next tablet. It's now the following day and i still feel itching at night, is this normal? How long after i've taken the tablet does it take until the irritation goes away? Many thanksHope this posts in the right place, im new to this site and couldn't find how to add a post after the answers? My Dad and I went out and got some tablets for the rest of the family and we have washed all the towels etc and i always wash my hands a lot anyway. I just want to know how long after taking the tablet does the itching stop? and does it still itch if they are dead? Many thanks guys more
