Resolved Question: what items are you allowed and not allowed in your suitcase on a plane?
moreVoting Question: Are you allowed to bring 'metal' items on the airplane?
My mom just told me that anything made of metal is not allowed on the plane because people will check you for it, but i thought you put it in a plastic basket so it goes through a security check anyway? Can someone tell me that you can? i want to prove my mom wrong, i have a metal lock on it and a metal clip.By the way it's part of my hand luggage, it's not going in the suitcase. Thanks guys, it's not sharp, it's just like a strap with a metal clip, like those metal things you clip behind your necklace? i forgot the word, (fail) moreResolved Question: Craigslist/ebay scam?
I recently saw a craigslist ad for an audi but the person claims that he is in Alaska and can only ship the car to me. Here's what he said: Hi, We are in training and unfortunately we are not allowed phone calls. I will have the car shipped from Alaska by an US Air Force cargo plane so there won't be any additional shipping costs. Also I will arrange for a truck to transport the car to your home address or, if you like, you can pick it up from the nearest airport in your area. The shipping will take 3-5 days, depending on your location.Shipping will be door to door,to your home address, somebody must be home when the car arrives to sign for the reception. The car will arrive with all the papers and documents required for registration and the keys. The clear title and the bill of sale will be already signed by me. The payment will be done through eBay.You will send the money to eBay and as soon as the payment is confirmed they will notify me to proceed with the shipping. I will ship the car, you will receive it and you will have 7 days for inspection, both the car and the paperwork and the option to accept or reject the car. The inspection time period will begin as soon as you sign for receiving the car at your requested address.During all this time eBay will hold the money into a trust account. So, this is not a blind transaction, you can see the car before decided to buy it.If you are satisfied with the car and decide to keep it you inform eBay about this and they will release the money to me. If the car is not as advertised and decide not to keep it eBay will refund you the money, no questions asked, and shipping back the car will be my concern. I think this is more than fair for the both of us.Please take into consideration that I will get paid only after you receive the car and make sure everything is as agreed. If you agree with these terms and you have the money, send me your full name and the address where you want the car to be delivered to and I will initiate the transaction with eBay. You will receive all the transaction details from them.I will appreciate an answer as soon as possible. Thank you! MSgt. Steve Copeland I need to know that this isn't a scam before i proceed but I feel like it. I need to know if anyone has ever had success using craigslist to buy another car or other large items from another state. Your opinion is greatly appreciated. Thanks moreResolved Question: What to bring to College?
What to bring to College? I'm going to college across the country, and I'm flying. Of course, planes only allow a couple bags, and most of them will be filled with clothing, etc. There are certain things I want to purchase for dorm room decor, but I don't know if this is practical. I guess my biggest concern is that once we arrive, it will be a pain to rent a car/use a taxi to get from store to store, aka ikea, walmart, and target. Also, some of the sales might be over or items out of stock by the time we arrive. But at home, I can drive near and far to purchase what i like, and I can also have things shipped to my home. Should I wait to get most things there, even if they are small decor items? I was thinking maybe I could get some posters or decorate some cork boards/memo boards here, and slide them into the luggage, since they are thin and flat? Should I also get small organizing items, like for my desk or small storage boxes? Same applies to clothing; what do you recommend...wait until I get there, or buy the bulk of it here? Of course I will need some clothes, so should I keep it to a minimum? I feel like I could take advantage of really great sales here in my area, and also have easier access to thrift shops, etc. And I know there are plenty of shops around my school, but they're so expensive! And I don't know how often I'm going to make it to the mall, idk if i'll even have much time for fun off-campus with all the studying i'll have :/ And P.S. my aunt is taking me and doesn't feel like renting a car to drive. (Which is silly, maybe i'll talk to her about driving the rental myself, i mean i do have a license and have had no major incidents for 1 year+). There is public transit, but not directly in front of stores or anything. Plus, it would be a pain to lug a mini fridge around town. And taxi = $$$. Is it impossible to move in w/o a car? moreResolved Question: How thoroughly do airports check luggage?
I check TSA and they say knives and other items are allowed in your checked baggage. I have about 10 knives I need to bring home. 2 of them are illegal in California. One is a 4 inch blade switchblade, the other is a butterfly knife. I'm leaving from a relatively small airport and going to Chicago. I really need to know how they will check the bags and what would happen if they found the 2 illegal knives. I need a lot of details. Because my 1st flight goes to chicago, my 4 inch knife won't be a problem because it's legal there. I'm also quite curious about how thoroughly they search checked luggage. If i put the knives into the pockets of my clothes or something like that would they find them? I just don't want to have delays or trouble. And if I did get in trouble in some sort of way for the knives, what would happen? (would the items be thrown away or the bag not put on the plane)? Please give details, my plane leaves tomorrow morning. Thanks. moreResolved Question: are these items allowed in carry on and checked luggage on plane?
ok im leaving today and i just need a few quick questions answered. Batteries??? a pack of 8 still sealed in their original packagng from store. They are Alkaline AA's, Energizer. internet and all this other stuff like CATSA or w.e says they are to not be stored in checked luggage or somthing... but must be in carry-on and can only have two batteries per carrier. called airline ppl who are incharge of my flight or somthing like that says i must put them in my checked... but internet says not to. anyone ever take more then 2 batteries with them on a plane before for personal use? such as in a digital camera? where did u pack them? carry or checked, and how many?? Ok last question, ppl and things have been saying put your liquids in a 1 quart zip lock bag. what if i dont have a 1 quart zip lock bag? will a clear thick plastic zippered bag that u see in stores with like body lotion and shower gel things in and such work as well??? will they except that bag in your carry on?@Drew: I live in Canada and im travelling to England :)@Drew: I live in Canada and im travelling to England :) moreResolved Question: What can't you bring on an airplane?
How much liquid/pounds/what size of things can you have as carry-on? What are items they won't allow? Can you bring pointy things like pens and earrings? Will they let you bring in certain items in your suitcase that they wouldn't let you in your carry-on? What kinds of things can I substitute for the items I might have? Thanks so so much, I'm going to NYC tomorrow from Toronto in Canada. I'm not too sure what I can bring and what I can't. First time on a plane:) moreResolved Question: What does this thing about carry on bags mean?
I'm flying us airways. On the baggage info section of the website, it says you are allowed one carry on and one personal item. But then it says your carry on bag will be tagged, placed in the cargo bin, and returned plane side or in the jetway when you arrive. What does that mean? I've flown before and only carried on one bag and not a personal bag like a purse. And I was allowed to have that bag with me the entire flight. Does this mean my carry on will not be with me??I'll be going from a smaller airport to a larger one on a small jet, so I think Roger K is right. That makes sense. Thanks to everyone that answered! moreResolved Question: What Do You Think of my Twilight Parody :)?
this is just for fun :) sorry if it's a bit long :) PREFACE: I had always thought how I would die. I had ever since my cat, Mittens, got ran over by my dad’s hearse, on the way to my grandma’s funeral. I always thought my dad would kill me, though. He’s a freak. The only problem was that I was actually looking across the room at another freak, and he looked back at me like the crazy shoppers staring at their items on Black Friday. I mean, it was an okay way to go, in the spot of my crazy, cat-lady, PMS, eBay-addict mother, right? That oughtta count for something when I see the Big Man in the sky, right? If I would have never gone to that dinky little run down hell hole called Chopsticks, I would be alive now, watching Pokemon on Saturday mornings. Even though I was scared shitless and had already peed myself, I was pretty good. When life gives you lemons, you take em, right? And you don’t cry until you get juice in your eye. The freak show smiled like we were mall buddies and skipped towards to kill me. CHAPTER ONE: My mom was driving about 100 in the 50 MPH zone, but that wasn’t unusual. She couldn’t wait to get my albino butt out of the car so she could back to he honeymoon with Bill. Bill was cool, especially when he was drunk and with his friends playing Fantasy Baseball. Last year he actually let me drive his truck, which was now at the junk yard in about fifty pieces… yeah… I had a Disney Princess backpack and a parka for my carry on items. My mom had thrown the parka at me while she sped off into the sunset, leaving me in my tank top and shorts. Why the hell did I need a parka if I was going to the warmest place in Washington? Chopsticks, population: small number… plus one. Chopsticks used to be the coldest place ever, but Mom had told me something about Global Warming made it ten times hotter this summer, and that she didn’t want me to come back. I ignored the last part and boarded the plane. Let’s just say the bitch lied. It was negative one thousand when the plane landed. I stood outside for half and hour waiting for my dad Marley to come while wearing the parka. He pulled up in his hearse, which attracted a lot of wandering eyes. Marley Woodpecker is the local hearse-driver for Chopsticks, Washington. He’s pretty crazy, too. He always talks to the dead people, and swears that they talk back to him. I think he does drugs, but I’m not sure. I looked over at him and saw him rolling up some weed. Naw, there still weren’t enough signs. “Hi, Mar—, uh, Daddy.” I stuttered. Ugh. My mom had made me promise not to call him Marley, and that I had to call him Daddy, for old time’s sake. “Hiya, Izzy.” He said while taking a long drag. Still not enough evidence. At least he used my nickname…. My full name is Isabella Mary-Sue Woodpecker, but I liked being called Izzy. We drove for about four hours talking about Bud Light, football, the Lakers, baseball, and weed. Me and Marley always talked about stuff like this. It was normal. “So,” he sighed while taking a drag. “I got you a welcome home present.” “Huh? What is it?” “I’m givin’ you a car.” “Uh-huh.” Marley was so freaking tight with money, this came as a shock. A car? That’s awesome. “What kind of car is it?” I added. “It’s a good car. Made in 1970.” “Ah,” I mumbled and we left it at that. When we pulled up into my dad’s driveway. It was a small house with about two windows: a crack house. It had three bedrooms and a basement that I wasn’t allowed in. Still, I doubted him and his drug use. On the side of the street was a police car. Shit. They must have found his stash, if he had one. Marley got out of the car and I followed him to the police cruiser. “There you go.” “What?” “Your car.” He motioned to the cruiser. “Uh-huh.” I said and went to the house. Great, I got a police cruiser for a car. That would make good first impressions.wow! thanks to everyone who answered! lol. I'm not done with it, actually. if i'm bored i ll just write in it :) moreResolved Question: Can I bring a Mac Concealer in the glass paint pot through check out?
I really don't need to bring it onto the plane, but if they find it in my suitcase through check out, will they toss it out? It says it's 0.19 US oz, and it's in a glass container. Is this in any way violating the rules? I'm willing to leave it at home, but I'm not at all willing to throw it out! And if you guys know like those transparent facial bars, are they allowed too? I'm so worried because I really don't want them to go through my suit case and dump it out, especially because of it's price. And the same with the facial bar, oh and a like cream? I really don't want to repurchase any of these items so I was hoping you could warn me now :) Thank you :D moreResolved Question: was France right to ban the body-face veil/burqa thing ?
according to this article - the headline reads "Copying French ban on burqa would be un-British, says minister" in other words, what that minister is saying is - ' we as a people lack a back bone and are willing to entertain a species who belong in the stone age !' remember, the burqa is a symbol of hatred towards everything you and I hold dear. its an attack on freedom and decency and logic. hell its even an attack on the religion that they use to defend it ! the burqa is an oppressive demeaning tool created by man for the woman and stringently deployed under the guise of islamic teachings, when ironicaly islam mentions nothing about the full veil ! hey, should we grow a pair sometime this century and confront these bearded nutjobs and tell them 'sorry mate, your womenfolk are not allowed to wear them in public places - or face a £10,000 fine' we should not encourage anti-western and anti-cohesive behaviour. also womens rights campaigners tend to get rather 'quiet' when the burqa issue gets raised - where are they when you need them ! help your fellow ladies - theyre being victimised by an inapproriate illogical demeaning clothing item ! hey, maybe its time we accepted that England is a land aka 'the last of the pu66ys' in europe. France, Germany and Australia especialy ( a pioneer and perfect 'model' to observe and follow and copy) have shown extreme-islam a zero tolerance policy. should we follow suite or is this country run by politicaly correct baffoons ? maybe its racism on our own part, and we're using the burqa to cause a social unrest and alienation of a community who have endured too much since 9/11. but then they did kill 3000+ in just 2 minutes by flying planes into those buildings.. moreResolved Question: What is not allowed at the airport?
I'm going to be flying back to California in a couple weeks. I have bought some items that I'm not sure I can take on a plane. I have bought shampoo, conditioner, face wash, and mouth wash. I have also bought weights to work out with. Are any of the items not okay to take on a plane? I really do not want to get to the airport and be embarrassed if I'm not allowed to take a certain item on the plane. All answers are appreciated. Thank you:) moreResolved Question: What items are not allowed on planes? What items are acceptable?
So what can I take in my carry on? Am I allowed to have a curling iron or a straightening iron in my carry on? Or do I have to put those with my checked bag? I'm flying to cancun in about 10 days moreResolved Question: Are you allowed bring powder, mascara&eyeliner on the plane flight?

Mascara. Eyeliner Are the above allowed. I don't know can you consider mascara a liquid, i don't know is powders allowed and i'm pretty sure eyeliner is!! thank you. Please answer ASAP. i'm leaving in only a day or two and need to know for sure, thanks btw I'm living in Europe and travelling to another european destination So please take that into account incase it's different in USA regions. i doubt it is though ,, :) moreResolved Question: How many laptops can I take out of the U.S?
I'm going on a trip to Vietnam to visit my family next week. I'll be flying out from LAX and stopping in Taiwan. Now I'm a little scared of how many laptop or electronic devices I am allowed to take with me as carry on and also checked in luggages. I have a brand new iPad for my dad, a brand new iPod touch for my brother, my old Sony was broken so I bought myself a Macbook and I will be taking them both to Vietnam, and also I have a brand new Sony laptop for my aunt, that's 3 laptops already. My friend and uncle just ask me if I can bring 2 more brand new laptops for them. If yes that means I'll be bringing 5 laptops (when 3 of them are brand new in box), and I don't know if I'm able to do this or they will stop me at the airport. I have 2 check in luggages and 1 carry on. How should I arrange all these devices in my luggages? I heard check in laptops and such expensive items are a bad idea cuz they might get stolen but I can't carry them all on the plane. (I'm also bringing some brand new designer items like handbag, clutch, shoes,...as presents. Not many but I'm still afraid, I never brought so many expensive items like this out of the U.S before) moreResolved Question: Flying with my dog in SAS airlines in August, What is the process?
I'm going to Denmark at the end of August and I have been preparing my dog all month (Border collie, blood test, passport, microchip, etc), shes a very nervous dog when it comes to crowds and I was wondering what is the process for checking in a dog at a airport? And also, how do I book my ticket along with the dog online? I have been trying to research this all week and all I get is info on prices not the process. Do officials investigate the carrier cage before the flight? Do I book and pay for her ticket at the airport when we get there? Am I allowed to bring her down to the plane? (She will be cargo, shes 15kg and to big to go in the cabin) Is their any special stickers or items (bowls, blankets, etc) I have to get for her cage? What will happen once I land? Do I have to go collect her immediatly before I collect my other luggage? I'm flying with SAS, from Ireland to Denmark. Thank you to anyone who answers, I'm really worried. moreResolved Question: Care giver's unthinking negligence resulted in pedigree dog drowning; can we sue?
The night before our planned trip to the American Maltese Association National dog show, we left our pedigree 6 pound Maltese, Alfie, with a friend who promised to look after him. On the way to the airport the next morning, at 9:20, I called to see how Alfie was doing. The man said that, although he'd been up for hours he hadn't seen Alfie. About 15 minutes later, as we were pulling into the airport, this man called back to tell us that Alfie had drowned in his pool. We pulled out of the airport and drove immediately to his home where we learned he had left the pet door open, but allowed the outdoor lights to go out, over night. The pool is only a few feet from the pet door and Alfie had only been there twice before. We not only lost our precious Alfie but the non-refundable plane tickets and other non-refundable items we'd paid for. We couldn't possibly have gone to the show knowing Alfie was dead. The trip cancellation insurance we bought won't cover this; can we collect from the neglectful caregiver? The friend who was to care for Alfie never said he was sorry. He didn't even do as my husband asked: to wrap my 6-pound Alfie in a towel and dry him off. When we got there I nearly passed out to see his lifeless little body all stiff and sopping wet at the side of the pool, which had overgrown plants blocking some parts of the cool deck around the pool. I used my own towel to wrap and dry Alfie. I was sick to my stomach, cried for days, couldn't eat or sleep: I kept picturing Alfie struggling to get out of the pool. The wife, who was in Scotland, didn't call for several days and then didn't call for a few weeks after she got home. She claims it was an accident, and it was in the same way a car accident or the current oil spill in the Gulf is an accident. I do believe they are liable. I would appreciate an outsiders look at this sad situation. moreResolved Question: How to pack when Traveling By Airplane?
I have never been on a plane. Tomorrow I will be flying to San Diego, so just an hour flight. With everything that has happened with 9/11 I know packing regulations have heightened and become more critical. I have a few questions I couldn't find answers to in regards packing; I want to make sure I don't detain myself and boyfriend because I packed something I shouldn't have etc. -What kind of bag is a carry on? Would my purse count, or a back pack -Also if I decide not to use my purse as a carry on, can I just pack it and its contents in my luggage? -Am I allowed to pack my birth control on my luggage? Or do I have to store it in a baggie? -can I pack a hair dryer and straightener? -Important: regulations on cosmetics - I know I can pack it in my luggage, but can I bring it in its original packaging? Glass foundation bottle, compact with a mirror etc. Or do I have to put what I think Ill use in a small plastic container? - Im pretty sure no lighters are allowed, but what about cigarettes? And in case I forgot anything, any tips on what NOT to pack ( basic items that you think you can bring but find out you actually cant) Thanks all to answer :) moreResolved Question: Does anyone understand the logic behind vilifying athletes for taking money in college?
The NCAA needs to be investigated by Congress. Coaches, universities, the NCAA, television and radio stations are making millions to billions off of these athletes, many of whom came from poor backgrounds. Yet if one takes a car, even gets a meal paid for by someone else, they get investigated? What is this, slavery? Do most of the comfortable middle to upper-middle class fans know the socioeconomic background most of these players come from? They don't have their wealthy parents to cut them checks in school to support them. A lot really don't care, and aren't there for a college education, they are there to play sports. If their performance suffers, they are cut and lose their scholarship. So it can be argued that sports comes first at these places. I have graduated from a Division 1 school with a top football program and can confirm this. I used to condemn athletes for taking money and cars until I started living in the real world and dealt with scumbag bosses and their lame excuses for ripping you off, while they buy big houses and vacation all the time. These players are getting the shaft, and most NCAA fans are too dim to see this. If this is so amateur, how can the coach get millions a year, in addition to endorsement deals? He should be making as much as a professor and teaching on campus! Bush had the opportunity to speak out against this garbage, but instead he decided he was going to "help" USC. He's either dumb or brainwashed. I sense there is a bit of racial divide when it comes to this issue too. Notice it's bad for the black players to have taken money and bought luxury items, but no one talks about the white coaches, the university presidents, and TV and radio broadcasters who fly in private planes or first class and live in nice homes! I'm sorry, I know it's against the "rules", but my moral compass tells me that the NCAA is wrong for not paying athletes, and not even allowing them to take outside sources of revenue. University is not the place for a minor league system. The rules in place basically protect an institution of slavery. Notice that very few, if any sports news outlets or news op-ed columns ever criticize the NCAA. They are in on it with them. Does the NFL or NBA not realize how much money the NCAA is costing them? Their teams could be as popular as teams in Europe because fans could devote most of their time and funds to the local team! I just fail to see, how the athletes are to blame for everything with these scandals.arch, I see you've drank the Kool-Aid too...what a shame. moreResolved Question: Would you bring hold luggage if you were going away for 3 nights?
My daughters are flying to Italy for a wedding, they will be gone for 3 nights/4 full days. They are having a disagreement about bringing a checked bag on the plane which costs 30 euro. They are allowed 10kg of hand luggage but no liquids over 100ml are allowed in this and the dimensions of the bag are fairly small. So items such as shampoo, deoderant etc are problematic. They are staying in a guesthouse, not a hotel and are not sure what will be provided (Will there be a hair dryer for instance? We don't know) Also, the wedding is in the mountains so good weather is not guaranteed. One daughter wants to check a bag in the hold of the aeroplane and doesn't see how she can make do with only one small bag (to include the clothes for the wedding), the other daughter thinks this is ridiculous. What do you think? moreResolved Question: Blender allowed in plane ?

I'm going on a class trip to Washington DC. We are NOT allowed to check in any luggage onto the plane because of money and the long wait to get our luggage after. However, we are allowed to bring a bag or two onto the place. I was wondering if it's possible to put hair straighteners/ curlers in the bag to take on the plane? Thank you. moreResolved Question: What can go in a Carry on baggage?
When traveling on a plane what are you allowed to pack in a carry on bag. We are trying to avoid the extra cost of a check in bag. I know you are not allowed to take any more than 3 oz of all liquid, aerosols, pasts, or jells and they must be put into a quart sized zip top bag. What i don't know about are things like blow dryers, straighteners, hair brushes, tooth brushes, full sized stick of solid deodorant, things like that that are personal care items. I don't want to have to throw anything away in the process of the trip because it doesn't mean the qualifications!! moreResolved Question: Can luxury items purchased by corporations be called marketable securities?

So, I'm going to be flying with my 16 month old tomorrow. Thank goodness it's only a 2 hour flight, but at the same time, I'm having him be a lap baby and I am just praying he flies as well as he handles everything else! Anyway, I haven't flown in quite a long time, and never with a child. I have checked the TSA website, but some of the questions I have weren't exactly answered there. I'm wondering if I can bring juice in the diaper bag for my son. I was going to bring his sippy cup full, and then have a spare bottle of unopened juice there as well. I will then have his wipes, diapers, powder and a change of clothes for both of us in the carry on. I also want to bring my curling iron, make up and what not because we have a 12 hour layover and will be staying in a hotel. Anyway, I basically just want to make sure I won't have any problems bringing these items in my carry on. I am a compulsive over packer and I would rather check something than have it taken away from me. I have also been told by a lot of people that I can gate check my car seat because I don't want to pay the fee to check it with my other bag. One more thing, are umbrella strollers allowed on the plane? I wanted to be able to wheel him through the terminal... moreResolved Question: Where can I find list of items that are allowed on a airplane?
Haven't travelled by plane in years. Many changes that I am not aware of I'm sure. Need to know what you can carry on or pack? moreResolved Question: I am going on a trip from California to Alabama, What items are not allowed on the plane?
Can I take cigarettes in my carry on?? Can I store a lighter in my luggage? I'm guessing its no allowed in the carryone but what about in my suitcase? What other things are not allowed on the carry on? anything not allowed in the suitcase? I know there are some new rules so help me out! moreResolved Question: What items are not allowed on planes in the U.S?
Im thinking of flying from ohio to Alaska sometime soon and need to know what I can and can't take on a plane. moreResolved Question: When will we stop thwarting the past terrorist attack?
...and focus on the NEXT one? I've been amazed by near-sightedness shown by both the administration and the media, but it's just the latest example in a backward security strategy: liquids, shoes, and now lavatories and not getting up? We just hop between countries to run around the latest patch of desert Al-Qaeda hides in. Every time an attack is attempted, the rules bar whatever method was employed. We're like a car with the driver facing backwards. But (sadly) the nature of terrorism is evolutionary - like some anti-matter, terrorism shapes to be what we're not. We denounce human shields so they hide among civilians, we bar items from planes so they use what is allowed; we value life, so suicide bombers don't. This is harrowing, but it is the reality. It's time to focus on the basics like intelligence procedures and collaboration (which is rightfully under scrutiny now), and stop panicking. Whenever we're fearful, terrorists write down a victory. One of the only sensible things I've seen in the media recently: http://www.sphere.com/2010/01/07/opinion-our-reaction-is-the-real-airport-security-failure/19307060/ moreResolved Question: Have the new proposals by the government for airline safety been rushed through without much thought?
On the radio today Alan Johnson said that passengers on transatlantic flights would not be told where the position of the plane and that an hour before landing they would not be allowed out of their seat, this was to ensure that the terrorist would not know when to explode a bomb over a US city. 1 hour before : well most people and terrorists would have an idea they where nearing their destination if they were told they had to stay in their seat and they could just look out the window anyway to see if there was land below or they where still over the sea. and he also said that they would not be able to to access their bags from 1 hour before ,well you just take what you need out as soon as you enter the plane. Is this another rushed through idea? Would it not be better to stop all hand luggage apart from babies essentials and medical items (they would have to have security additional checks) and subject every person to a physical body search by somebody who knows what they are doing ,if they object they don't fly ,much more secure than mr Johnson idea's. moreResolved Question: Please help me!! It's going to be my first time EVER on a train! I know nothing about how the ride is...?
I've never ridden on a train before, EVER. I want to know how the experience is before I totally embark on this journey of 12 hours on a train for the very first time!!! I know that I'm in business class and that there are meals and drinks and plenty of leg room and electricity plugs for stuff but that's it. Is it a rough ride? Are the attendants like those on an airplane (coming to check on you frequently)? Is the food good or at least edible?? What items am I not allowed to take with me (I haven't needed to be on any "public" transport since the terrorism scare started so I don't know anything about what I'm allowed to take even on planes)? Is it like the airplanes where you have a carry on bag and the rest of your luggage is in another section? Can I take my laptop and charger and my cell phone and its charger in my carry on bag?? Are there certain size restrictions for suitcases and carry on bags? How many seats are there in an aisle?? Thank you soooo much!!! moreResolved Question: coming to Mumbai from JFK, New York via Kuwait Airways and dealing with indian customs officials?
Can I take a box of chocolates for my family? Is that allowed? Does Kuwait airways or Kuwait(where my plane will be stopping for few hours for refueling) has any restrictions on passengers carrying any chocolates in their original packing? Asked Kuwait airways, but no response since 10 days for email and they don't answer the phone. Should I take it in carry in bag or checked in baggage? Do Indian customs have any restrictions on bringing chocolates from US? I hear Indian custom officials ask for money from passengers coming from abroad and if not given money confiscate items of passenger which they have brought from abroad. How should I deal with them? Can someone offer some suggestions for both questions? Thanks moreResolved Question: Are there any obscure items that are not allowed on planes in carry on luggage?
I haven't flown in about 2 years, I was wondering if there is anything that I wouldn't normally think of that isn't allowed on planes? In my purse alone I keep tweezers and a mini bottle of perfume. I know some airlines are very strict about what's in people's luggage. What is normally allowed/not allowed? I am not going to have enough luggage to check a bag either so that isn't an option. Thanks. moreResolved Question: Can I bring a car seat without a baby on an international flight?
I am buying a new car seat for my cousin in China and do not want to check in the car seat in its original box as luggage. I was wondering if I could just carry the car seat onto the plane as a carry on item and have it left someone in the back of the plane (I am sitting in the last row) during the flight. Is this allowed to count as 1 carry on item?I am flying on United if that changes anything. moreResolved Question: I'm flying with my 15 month old daughter (her first time!)?
I believe you are allowed to bring a diaper bag, a purse, plus a carry on bag with you on the plane. Then I plan on checking one suitcase. I'm thinking its a good idea to pack just enough diapers for the airplane ride then buy diapers when we get there bc it will take up too much space. But what else should I pack in our carry on?. What am I NOT allowed to bring? I wanted to bring some snack for her plus some juice boxes, and perhaps a bottle of water with formula if I need to make a bottle. What are some good items to have in the diaper bag to keep her occupied? I'm more nervous about keeping her " happy" while we are waiting to board the plane. When I traveling by myself I usually I arrive two hours before the plane takes off but with her that seems like a long time. Then its two hours on the plane. I think she will be enterained with people on the plane. Shes a people person. I am going to bring a portable dvd player to play Barney and an ipod with Barney songs. Should I save that for the plane only? Or should I break it out while we are waiting? OMG Im so nervous bc I never traveled by myself with the baby before!! Are they any mothers who know how I feel? moreResolved Question: How do you make a mousetrap car that can travel 8 meters and stop? Are there any loopholes in these rules?
Rules: 1. You must use ONE Victor Brand mousetrap. You cannot use a “have-a-heart” trap – it won’t work! 2. The mousetrap must be the sole power source – with the spring attached as originally manufactured. The mousetrap may NOT be altered. You are not permitted to alter the base, snapping arm, spring or release. 3. The mousetrap must be and remain a part of the traveling car. 4. NO alternate power sources may be used to help propel the car. (This includes (but is NOT limited to) rubber bands, additional springs, motors, magnets, string, wind, etc.) You can use these items to help build the car, just not for propulsion. 5. The mousetrap car must be self-starting, meaning no push starts of any sort will be allowed. The vehicle must be started by releasing the mousetrap spring in a manner that imparts no additional energy. YOU MUST release the trap by touching a pencil/stick to the trigger. You will not be permitted to hand release the trap. 6. The car must conform to the following maximum dimensions (when in the ready position): a. 15.2 cm (about 6.0 inches) b. 31.8 cm (about 12.50 inches) c. In other words, it must fit into a shoebox with the above dimensions WITHOUT THE LID. HOWEVER, you are to imagine that the sides of the box extend vertically infinitely. 7. The cars will be constructed outside of class. NO class time will be used for design or construction. 8. NO KITS are to be used to construct your vehicle. If kit parts are used you will be disqualified and receive a (non-droppable) zero. NO CARS FROM PREVIOUS YEARS are to be used. You will earn a (non-droppable) zero for reusing a car or using a kit-car! 9. You may not use CDs, DVDs, or any other 5” digital media discs for any part of your car. Also in accordance with school rules you may not use any latex balloons or any other latex products. If your car incorporates either of these materials or other illegal/inappropriate school substances then you will receive a non-droppable zero. Testing: On race day, a racing area will be marked off. The track will be 8m (about 25 ft) and 61 centimeters (about 2 feet) wide. The distance traveled by the vehicle will be measured from the starting line to the leading wheel of the car at the end of its trip. If the car leaves the lane from either side, it will be considered stopped when it breaks the plane of the line boundary. YOU MUST START YOUR CAR WITH THE FRONT WHEELS AT THE EDGE OF THE STARTING LINE. ITS STOPPING POINT WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE LAGGING FRONT WHEEL. •Time will be used to for extra credit purposes only. •The time portion of your grade will be based on the time from which the car starts its motion to when it STOPS! •The time points will be based on the fastest car in your class period, with the fastest car receiving +3 points and the 2nd fastest getting +2, and 3rd +1. If you work with someone from a different period…the extra credit will be based on the class period in which your car was tested. moreResolved Question: How do you make a mousetrap car that stops after traveling 8 meters?

YOU MUST START YOUR CAR WITH THE FRONT WHEELS AT THE EDGE OF THE STARTING LINE. ITS STOPPING POINT WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE LAGGING FRONT WHEEL. Grading: Your car is worth 30 points, and breaks down in the following manner: •15 points for building the car to all “ready position” specifications, and above-mentioned regulations. If your car fails to meet specifications it will receive ZERO points and will NOT be tested. This is a non-droppable zero. •The remaining 15 points will be based on your distance. •The distance potion of the grade will be pro-rated (your distance/8m). If your car doesn’t move you will receive a zero for the testing portion of the grade. To earn 100% of the distance points your car must stop at exactly 8m. •Falling short of the target will result in point loss. •Over shooting the target will result in the same point loss as if it fell short (so if your car travels 8.2m it is the same as traveling 7.8). •If your car travels less than 0.5 meters you will receive a zero. I have never been on a plane before and I would like to know, if the things I am bringing are allowed. First off: I have a Cosmetic bag that I have all my toiletries in. Everything is in 3.2 or smaller oz bottles/containers. The only thing I'm worried about is a little perfume. It's in a 1oz GLASS bottle and I'm not sure if they'll allow it on. Second: I have my personal item which is my purse. I completely jam packed this thing, it's kind of funny. But what I have is my MP3 Player, Headphones, Nintendo DS, and an extra game, two DVD cases (one of which has two dvds), an Xbox360 control and Xbox360 game case with two games inside. I also have my cell phone, it's charger and my DS's charger. Do you think they'll allow me to bring those things in my purse? Lastly my Checked Bag: I have my clothing and I have a curling iron. Should I keep my curling iron in my checked bag? or should I put it in one of my carry-on's?I have all my liquids toiletries in a one-quart ziplock bag IN my cosmetic bag. That is the reason for the bag. I do not have enough room in my purse or in my check in. And according to the airline I'm taking official site it says: "Continental will permit one bag plus one personal item" and a purse is included as a personal item. moreResolved Question: What items can't be carried on anymore?
I haven't flown in a few years, not since that hole in the side of a plane incident that one August. I know they got really up tight about crap after that. I'm fly US Airways tomorrow and I'm curious about some items that may be banned now. Mascara Chapstick Foundation(powder) Also, my wrist has been pretty messed up in the last few years. Recently I've gone through a bout of tendinitis. I just finished up physical therapy last week and my therapist recommended I take this stuff called Thera-Putty with me. It's basically just putty that's a little stiffer and it's meant to continues strengthening my wrist. Will they allow me to take that on? I'm going to carry on my bag. moreResolved Question: Gun Control introduction help please?
i need to write a paper on gun weather it should be allow or not allow in California. i believe it should be allow in California but i don't know what to write or how to start it. Also i need to write 3 counter arguments for both side allow and not allow. so far i got: Guns kill people: true but so does cars. planes, bowling balls, baseball bats too. Are you going to band those too? Also did you know every one second in the world someone dies of a car accident. why haven't we band cars yet? why need guns when we have cops? my argument would be cops are not only here to protect us. they have other things to do. In addition if you dial 911 and a cop doesn't get there in time and you died. Your family can not sew the cop because of an amendment( i think it is he 2nd one i am not sure) Guns for protection: throughout the years guns has been out in the world for decades.back then people made guns to hunt animals for food. Now criminals use it to still money and high jack cars etc. If civilians had guns it would be a different story because it would be harder to rob someone when they are lock and loaded. Did you know in Texas (there are two states like this but i don't know the other state) there are less crime rates then California. Also in New York where they don't allow guns, teasers, and pocket knifes they have one of the highest crime rate in the USA. that's all i got i need 3 more please help me and i need an introduction for my gun law essay. i don't know how to start it Please help me find 3 more arguments for Pro and Con and a introduction for my essay Thanks so much =( i miss school because i didn't finish my essay in time... D= need to finish =D Thanks for all the help!!! =D if you can add to my arguments please do thanks if you can Gun for protection, Gun kill people, and why guns when we got police is this a good introduction or can you guys revise it or something to make it professional Banding guns is a mistake. We need guns for today society and the future. i believe that civilians in California should carry guns with a permit but under the law of the right to bear arms. In California there are so many criminals that rob people cars and stealing valuable items from civilians. the reason criminals are getting away is because people these day don't have guns to protect them self. In addition in Texas and Wyoming has less of a crime rate compare to California and New York. Don't you believe in the Holocaust where over 6 million Jews died but some of them could of survive if they had guns and weapons to protect themselves over a dictator Hitler. that's all i got for my introduction i need help to expand it and add a thesis. please help thanks again =D moreTop Items Not Allowed In A Plane Links
