Does anyone else find Michael Jackson incredibly overrated. I'll start off by saying that the only reason 70% of MJ "fans" like him was because he died and gained publicity. When if you asked them what they thought about Michael jackson say 2 years prior to his death they would be making pedophile jokes. Im not saying Michael Jackson is bad, I like a few of his songs but I find that he is regarded higher than he deserves. His music is over played and a lot of his songs really aren't very good. Open Question: Should i tell my friends i have vitiligo?

I am 18 and i am beginning to develop vitiligo. I know what your thinking, wouldn't it be obvious if you had patches of skin all over your body that were lighter than your usual skin tone? Im extremely lucky in that i have irish/english decent and i have fair skin as it is, so even when i develop more lesions it wont be so noticeable. On the other hand, id like to express how unlucky i feel for living in australia, the "sunburnt country" where there seems to be such pressure to get a tanned look. Im happy with my pale skin tone and i feel beautiful for it, (disregarding the vitiligo) and im sick of people making jokes about it and the way i go out of my way to avoid the sun constantly. Would it make things easier if i explained the reason that im extra careful about sun exposure because of my inherited skin condition? or would that make people worry that id start acting like michael jackson and molest little boys? more

Melanie had offered to show me round all of my classes, I thought she looked nice; with crystal blue eyes, black hair that looked blue in the sunlight and a row of freckles over the bridge of her nose. She talked non stop the full day and I barely said a word, but the next day she skipped over to me and I felt a connection. I could be myself with her. We had been friends ever since and shared all of our secrets, so she might be a little crazy with her Michael Jackson obsession but she was fun. When Michael Jackson died last summer she was distraught and didn't leave her house for days she sat and listened to his music all day long eating ice-cream, it was like she had just been dumped or something. I began to get a bit worried but she's fine now and she had a tribute for him, we got together some of his fans and played his music and danced then Melanie said a few words whilst crying hysterically. I assumed her obsession would be over after that but she is still wears one white glove occasionally and listens to his music non-stop. Ok, so I answered this question (link below) and as you can see so many people put thumbs down, only 2 thumbs up! My personal feelings about Michael is, I like some of his music. I don't think all the nose jobs he had were necassary, and I'm not going to comment on the surgery to make him white because many say he had a disease some say he didn't. I don't think he had to do it, again that's just my opinion. Alot of people also don't think he molested those boys, I think he did. Wow. This might take some explaining. OK, so there's this girl (let's call her Caitlyn) who I am kind of mad at right now. First of all, people told me that she was telling people REALLY bad things about me, and how she "totally hated me SOOOO much". I was really confused, because I had only talked to her once before, and that was when she was driving home with one of my best fiends and we just started chatting. It was a really friendly conversation, and I thought she seemed really nice. A few weeks later I learned about how she was telling people about me. I was going to talk to my best friend about it (let's call her Emily) because I knew that she and "Caitlyn" were pretty good friends so she might know what's going on. I never asked her about it. About a week later, "Caitlyn" totally betrayed "Emily". So I knew then that I obviously couldnt talk to her about it because it was kind of a sensitive subject. I now know that she's mad at me because I went out with the guy she REALLY liked, and he was the "class clown" type of guy, and he really rubbed it in her face becase he knew that she liked him. I recently broke up with him, but she still hates me. But here's the part I wanted to ask you about. OK, so I kind-of made a joke at "Catlyn's" expense, but really didn't mean anything by it. So, you know on facebook where there's pictures of celebrities with words under them and you tag people? So, I was looking and there was a pic of Michael Jackson and under it, it said, "The Baby-sitter". So yu were obviously supposed to tag someone as a JOKE. She tagged her and her friend as "mee and ????? (: one fun night**" (I put the ????'s for privacy). I thought It was kind of hilarious that she didn't get it, so I said "You DO know what it means when they're saying "the baby-sitter", right? ...wow...the picture of Michael Jackson didn't give you any hints? Really?" Which, i regret saying, but that's beside the point. Her older sister replied " idk if ur trying to be smart or not gracelyn but my little sister was using it for a different term not the term ur tlking about....just to clear that up(: ily 'Caitlyn'" (yes, I changed her name back to caitlyn). I would expect from this generation, i mean teens, some wiser answers rather than "he was a pedophile! eww!" and i expect from teens to be wise enough to figure on their own that not only he would sing about peace and healing the world, but he was un guilty and innocent. wich is weird cus, i have pretty much have stopped crying over his death and just celebrated his acomplishments and enjoy that he inspired me, you know? but last night i was having a nightmare(i forgot what it was about) but anyway it woke me up! at around 2:40 a.m then i went back to sleep and had a dream i went to a different bigger much cooler school then mines in real life, but all the same people were there. and there was these "life coaches" there to inspire us and talk to us at an assembaly. everyone thought they were lame. they were 3 woman (dont worry its getting to michael jackson) one was a white with red hair, the other was asian, and the other (i dont remember) anyway i was outside, on the grassfield and i saw the aisian lady...i talked to her she was like "cmon, i have a good friend i want you to meet..your a good kid." soo she took me like less than a mile away from the school (walking distance) when i got there it was LOUD music and a pool party with no people she said" hmm mabey he is not home"(for someone reason i KMEW this was michael jacksons house. then i went back to the school and told everyone i went to michael jacksons house.(wich in real life i NEVER would have done) anyway the life coach ladies said they had a suprise for our grade level. A SCHOOL DANCE AT MICHAEL JACKSONS HOUSE. well, im pretty good at remembering my dreams if i write it down... but anyway we all kept going there, we had a FULL week of school dances at michael jackson's house, and michael jackson WAS THERE THIS TIME no one made fun of him and they all cheered him on and supported him wich was weird..and these girls around 16 tried to dance with him and well, he rejected her..and i heared him talking to the life coach ladies and he was saying how he felt uncomfortable with the school dances because of THE PRESS and he said the press would be ALL OVER HIM for having students at his house. then "SCREAM" start playing and i start dancing and i remember saying "OMG THANK YOU" tohim but he wouldn't talk to me, he only looked at me, i wanted him to talk to me back but he couldn't even though other people would talk to him and he would talk back. I WANTED TO REALLY BAD, I WANTED HIM TO TALK TO ME BACK. but he woudl just look at me, and turn away. i was like OMG!! MICHAEL JACKSON IS SOO AWESOME!! and its like, nothing...it didn't make him respond to me. i felt like it was POSSIBLE FOR HIM, but for some reason he couldnt. anyway the only songs that played were "black or white, JAM!, and Scream" and they played back-to-back-to-back-to-back anyway in the end...he stoppped the school dances because he didn't want any problems from the press.he didn't want them to make "pedophile comments" he was just being nice. as a matter of fatc he didnt even wanna hang out with us, he was just enjoying seeing us hangout at his house listening to his music. because we were young teens, and usually teens are the ones cracking jokes about him. just wondering...if you have ANY IDEA what my dream means PLEASE say something. more

This year,2009, Obama is still running office and he feels that Obama was similar to Jimmy Carter. Here, he wrote how things were 30 yrs prior to this creative piece. This isn't all of it, just some of it. It's April 18th, 1979 and the world is still taking it's crumbling downfall. Wars are still going on in seperate countries, and news reporters are claiming that this could be the beginning of World War 3. Jimmy Carter is the president of the United States. He is seen sitting at the white house laughing and talking with fellow collegaues and reporters. Many people do not like this man simply becuse theybelieve that he turned this nation into bloody hall. You look out there. You see that they are no jobs available at the moment. People are being laid off at their jobs, people are losing their homes, their jobs, their cars and everything that they have. Gas prices done went sky high and the recession has gotten everybody beat. Young men who are just graduating high school are making their way into the army reserve because there just isn't enough work out there for them to do. Things aren't looking too shady in New Haven, Connenticit. Sharonda Davis, 35, a young single mother of four, had recently lost her job as a nurse at the hospital for seven years. News reporters gather around her and interview her as she cries and bursts into tears, explaining her frustration wth how this recession is running "TIMES ARE HARD!" she screams with tears rolling down her face. "Carter's talking about the middle class, and the high class, but what about the low class? Huh? How come he doesn't say anything about that?!" Carter's rep with blacks had gotten so bad, he's even became a comedian's punchline. Comedian Richard Pryor gets up on stage and cuts Carter up so terribly, but not intentionally (he's just being honest). He was only 34 years old. The music world and the economic world is such a tough time in 1979. We certainly hope as we approach the 1980s, things will be a lot better.
