Open Question: Starting A Computer Repair Company - A question for the experienced techies?
Hello, I use to work at a PC repair shop and have worked some contract desktop deployment /support roles. I'm considering, now working from out of my Studio for some side cash. I worked at a PC repair shop, up until 2007, when Vista was just released. Anyway, this was just before all of the Geek Squad rage and we were still primarily making repairs from out of the shop 75% of the time, as opposed to, "on-site." However, some jobs would require venturing on-site e.g. helping to set up a customer's network etc. Nowadays, is everyone expecting repairs while they are at home? How much is actually being repaired outside of the shop these days? And where is the drawing line, on as to when I should be telling a customer to bring it by my place? Are customers expecting us to perform full data backups /imaging/Ghosting, all on site? That would be numerous hours of silent awkwardness and watching the progress, while you could be easily repairing another computer as you wait. I suppose I'm just confused as to what the structure is these days, and what people expect. I do want to remain competitive.Excellent! I am not a level 2 contributor, thus, cannot select the first posted answer as being the best...thanks again! moreOpen Question: Possibly juvenile diabetes?
My 5 yr old niece may be diagnosed with juvenile diabetes this week. She went to the hospital sick and throwing up she had pneumonia and they checked her blood sugar because she had ketones in her urine and it was 209 (she had been eating popsicles and gatorade) so they put her on a sugar free diet and kept checking her sugars. It dropped down to normal and they released her from the hospital but they said she still needs a glucose test. Is it likely that she has it but it can be contolled with diet? They aren't giving her any sugar until after the test. Is there a chance that she doesn't have it? We are all scared for her. Part of one of her lungs doesn't work due to having been born a micropremie. 1 lb 11 oz and she is prone to catching what anyone else has. She also has AD/HD which 90% of premature babies get diagnosed with and seems to be under control. She has often complained of her heart hurting and the doctors did EKG tests, etc. but never at the time when she said it hurt. Oddly, at the time her sugar was high, she was saying it hurt and her heart rate was fast. Has anyone else had that experience? Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! moreOpen Question: When is the next Macbook being released?
Before you go telling me to get a PC, I already have a decent HP that I share with my siblings, but I want to try a Mac just for a new experience (and to mess with my friends who think I'm turning into a hipster haha). With my minimum wage job, I can't save enough until probably March of next year. Will there be a new Macbook (regular, not Pro) out by then? If not, should I buy the latest one out now or wait until Apple releases a new one? I really like the classic white plastic body design they have this year, unlike the Pro-like metal designs they had previous years, hopefully they use plastic again on the next one? Please help. Thanks! Can you estimate around which quarter they'd release it? moreResolved Question: Why did Obama lie about his gay experience with Larry Sinclair in 1999?
========== ***ALERT*** ========== Now before the Liberal Socialist start doing so, I am going to warn them not to start doing their useal thing and pull out the Race Card. If they do I will call them on it and embarrass them for doing so. Everyone have fun with the question and I hope to hear some good debate on the subject. Now one more time for those out there who were bread from birth to use race as a crutch... DO NOT DROP THE RACE CARD! IT IS NOT ALLOWED IN RATIONAL CONVERSATION! Thank you. ============================================= If you don't know about the story, a man named Larry Sinclair was on a trip and met then still community organizer and political hopeful Obama. He testified before congress about how he and Obama had gay sex and smoke crack cocain in Obama's limo. Now to be all honest and upfront I am not surprised and even though I HATE "Mr." Obama with a fury, I thought the story was just something some guy made up to get before the cameras for fun. It started to get interesting when he testified before congress about what had happened in "Mr." Obama's limo. He goes into deep detail about what happened and then starts talking about "Mr." Obama asking him he he smoked crack. Larry Sinclair at this moment said he did cocaine but never smoked crack, but was indeed will to try. "Mr." Obama then made a phone call and they made a stop at a seedy part of town and then exchanged money for the crack. ...again this could be a made up story but proved it to be true for me and anyone else who doesn't just take what the Liberals feed them and not question it,l in his testimony before congress he gave three very specific times and locations as to where the gay sex and the purchase and smoking of the crack cocaine took place. When the phone recorded and records of the limo's location and times to when it was indeed there, were requested, it was during "Mr." Obama run for "Leader" of the country and he had it buried legally, and then when he was forced upon us, he had the times and records marked top secret under the premise of being important to National Security. When he was asked about this, he said that he did release the records, but in fact when copies were attained by reporters everything from up to the minute BEFORE the exact time and the exact lactation data, and every AFTER the same two bits of information were there but the exact times and location data that Larry Sinclair said before congress were missing and then later declaired to be a matter of National Security. Now to add to the issue, one of Larry Sinclair friends that was helping him out with the story and that could have verified what happened... he was murdered shortly after. The shooting happened and nothing was taken, so you really got to ask yourself about how much "Mr." Obama knew about what happened and why he lied about the experience. Liberals are about homosexuals so I don't know why he would hide the fact he is one, I uderstand him hiding the fact about smoking crack, but even then one has to ask one's self why. He admitted to doing so already in his book. So what do you think the reasons were for his homosexual cover up? All views welcome. Thank you.To AH ME SO HORNEY!: Lets for a moment say your story is true, they why no recored of a failed polygraph, all I was able to find was one given by the secret service but the results were withheld do to National Security. Even then what about the time and location data blocked? Well? moreResolved Question: Where is Microsoft in this whole cell phone war?
Apparently there is huge cell phone war going on between Apple with its iPhone 4, Samsung with its Galaxy S line of smart phones, and HTC with its Droid line of smart phones. Now I am just wondering what the heck is Microsoft doing not getting involved in the competition? They have quite an experience in this when Bell Labs took over the programming world back in 1983, Sun Micro Systems released a better programming language called Java. Then the whole world asked where is Microsoft? Then Microsoft came out with a bang with its Microsoft .Net technology. I expect Microsoft to release a phone that just puts Samsung, HTC and Apple to shame. What do you guys think?I heard about the Samsung Omnia II. It looks like a good phone but the reviews say its not that great. Where are you Microsoft!!!! moreOpen Question: What are your suggestions for my dog who is allergic to pollen?
We have recently found out that our dog is allergic to pollen. She had hives on her back after staying outside all day (the pollen level was extremely high). We were prescribed Temaril-P which helped a bunch. The only problem is that it makes her drowsy, which is alright but she rarely wants to play fetch. Then when we stop the medicine all her bundled up energy releases and she SPRINTS like no other. We are taking a camping trip this weekend (5 days). The pollen levels are very high. We really would like to bring our dog because she would enjoy it so much! Do you think the pollen levels will affect her so much that it would be almost cruel to bring her because she would be miserable? I'm not sure what to do. Do you think it would be fine if we kept her on the antihistamine and brought her? But then she would be very drowsy and not her usual self. We plan on calling the vet soon to figure out exactly what to do, but as I'm sure you've seen, some people know better than vets from personal experience. We just wanted your opinion. Any suggestions for my dog who is allergic to pollen and will be spending 3 days straight outdoors in high-pollen conditions? moreResolved Question: Can you help me summarize this agriculture article please?
ScienceDaily (Aug. 26, 2010) — Imagine devices that capture electricity from the air ― much like solar cells capture sunlight ― and using them to light a house or recharge an electric car. Imagine using similar panels on the rooftops of buildings to prevent lightning before it forms. Strange as it may sound, scientists already are in the early stages of developing such devices, according to a report presented at the 240th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society (ACS). "Our research could pave the way for turning electricity from the atmosphere into an alternative energy source for the future," said study leader Fernando Galembeck, Ph.D. His research may help explain a 200-year-old scientific riddle about how electricity is produced and discharged in the atmosphere. "Just as solar energy could free some households from paying electric bills, this promising new energy source could have a similar effect," he maintained. "If we know how electricity builds up and spreads in the atmosphere, we can also prevent death and damage caused by lightning strikes," Galembeck said, noting that lightning causes thousands of deaths and injuries worldwide and millions of dollars in property damage. The notion of harnessing the power of electricity formed naturally has tantalized scientists for centuries. They noticed that sparks of static electricity formed as steam escaped from boilers. Workers who touched the steam even got painful electrical shocks. Famed inventor Nikola Tesla, for example, was among those who dreamed of capturing and using electricity from the air. It's the electricity formed, for instance, when water vapor collects on microscopic particles of dust and other material in the air. But until now, scientists lacked adequate knowledge about the processes involved in formation and release of electricity from water in the atmosphere, Galembeck said. He is with the University of Campinas in Campinas, SP, Brazil. Scientists once believed that water droplets in the atmosphere were electrically neutral, and remained so even after coming into contact with the electrical charges on dust particles and droplets of other liquids. But new evidence suggested that water in the atmosphere really does pick up an electrical charge. Galembeck and colleagues confirmed that idea, using laboratory experiments that simulated water's contact with dust particles in the air. They used tiny particles of silica and aluminum phosphate, both common airborne substances, showing that silica became more negatively charged in the presence of high humidity and aluminum phosphate became more positively charged. High humidity means high levels of water vapor in the air ― the vapor that condenses and becomes visible as "fog" on windows of air-conditioned cars and buildings on steamy summer days. "This was clear evidence that water in the atmosphere can accumulate electrical charges and transfer them to other materials it comes into contact with," Galembeck explained. "We are calling this 'hygroelectricity,' meaning 'humidity electricity'." In the future, he added, it may be possible to develop collectors, similar to the solar cells that collect the sunlight to produce electricity, to capture hygroelectricity and route it to homes and businesses. Just as solar cells work best in sunny areas of the world, hygroelectrical panels would work more efficiently in areas with high humidity, such as the northeastern and southeastern United States and the humid tropics. Galembeck said that a similar approach might help prevent lightning from forming and striking. He envisioned placing hygroelectrical panels on top of buildings in regions that experience frequent thunderstorms. The panels would drain electricity out of the air, and prevent the building of electrical charge that is released in lightning. His research group already is testing metals to identify those with the greatest potential for use in capturing atmospheric electricity and preventing lightning strikes. "These are fascinating ideas that new studies by ourselves and by other scientific teams suggest are now possible," Galembeck said. "We certainly have a long way to go. But the benefits in the long range of harnessing hygroelectricity could be substantial." CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development) and FAPESP (The State of São Paulo Research Foundation) funded the study. please help me summarize this article in 6 - 10 sentences also answer this question , How do you think the information in this article will affect agriculture or the environment? in 2 - 3 sentences easy ten points ty , first come first serve moreResolved Question: pisces and daydreams?

However, the meanings to your nightly dream symbols are also applicable to your daydreams. The content in your daydreams are also helpful to the understanding of your true feelings and in fulfilling your goals. Just as your worrisome daydreams can unwittingly come true via repetition in your mind, you can use it as a tool to your advantage and make positive events happen. You can utilize daydreams as a technique to visualize what you want and hope to happen. It is said that many athletes, musicians and business leaders utilize daydreams to envision success. They anticipate or imagine landing the perfect jump, closing a deal, or making that hit single. Tiger Woods, for one, has said to use daydreams to improve his golf game. I want to go and see Saw 3D when it's released. As we all know, due to the nature, this film is an 18+. Problem being, I'm only 16. I look about 18-19, but if they asked for ID, i'd be screwed. If my mum went to watch it with me, I looked 18, and she obviously was - do you think they would let me in without checking? It seems like it takes forever for retro air jordans to be released. I cannot wait for them anymore! Anyway, I would like to buy some fake retro jordans from a website that someone has purchased from before. Please let me know of the quality of work and "look" of the shoe. Ok, I was away and my previous question expired so I cant continue asking on it... My original post was: I am running a Mac Pro with osx 10.6.4 and an NVIDA GeForce 7300 GT card. Everything is installed for starcraft 2, but when I load the game up it all works fine untill I go to the character selection screen. It always crashes right after I enter my battle.net account password and it goes to the next screen. I know its under the minimum requirements, but I have run SC2 on old pc laptops I have that are under minimum requirements and it works. I dont care If i lag a bit during battles and such, is there any way to solve this? -The best answer so far was from "Brianthesnail123" who stated the following: hi anthony i dont think this is a problem with the card.... you card is fine as it manages to get to the character selection screen however its then when everything goes wrong.. which indicates a software based issue and not hardware (i.e graphics card ) in situations like this you should download and install the latest patch(also known as a update) ..however i have just discovered your geforce 7300gt is a unsupported graphics card ( http://starcraft.org/blogs/starcraft/469 ) so this must be were your problem lies theres a few comments that have been released in regards to running startcraft 2 with nvidia based cards are these are : "Unless NVidia fixes their bugs, this seems unlikely. At some point, we might make it playable on low settings. This would be in a patch after we ship." "The NVidia GeForce 7 is not supported because the drivers are too buggy." "We will optimize the game as much as we can but you should not expect performance parity with Windows anytime soon since it mostly depends on Apple implementing and optimizing the graphic features that we are using." "Do not use custom graphic settings or the game will have to compile shaders while you play." note the second comment in regards to geforce 7 series cards... they are not supported because the drivers are seen as too buggy, however this does mean its not a performance or hardware issue, and the good news is that there should be a fix for this online or in the near future however theres a "Graphics Update for Snow Leopard" which has been seen to fix problems experienced with starcraft 2 when running geforce 7 series cards ( http://osxdaily.com/2010/08/17/download-… ) i hope this helps, however any problems let me know good luck anthony ! Unfortunately I tried that, and to no luck, the same thing continues to happen, I log in to battle.net, it asks for a password, I enter it. It then logs me in to the character selection screen then the game crashes 2 seconds later.I can use the map editor and everything as well, thats fine, but when I open the game and go to choose character, it crashes. The cutscenes play and eveything, I dont get it moreResolved Question: Please read this short story?
I had a fist fight with my brother who later called the cops telling them I'm crazy. My mother was working at the time. The cops came and took me down the station where we waited for a mental doctor. I spoke calmly and told her nothing was wrong with me, but she still insisted I get help. I went down to the mental hospital where I spoke to the doctor and explained what happened. She didn't listen to me and said I needed anxiety medication for 8 days then I can leave because you're hyper, anger and seem stressed. I refused, but she said that it will be forced on me. I couldn't believe what was happening. I stayed there for 2 weeks until they convinced me enough to take the medications when after 8 days I saw an attorney who showed up. They tricked me when I never had to take the 2 pills. Now, once I was released on that same day the attorney showed up. I've been crying ever since because I felt violated and now in fear of having a heart attack when I get older. I moved out of the house to prevent me from killing my brother. What can I do to recover from this experience that left me traumatized ? moreResolved Question: I am sick and scared. Am I crazy? Please help!?
I am such an insecure person. I often feel so overwhelmed with anxiety that I think I am close to a nervous breakdown. It’s disabling. Interviews make me extremely anxious, but nothing like what I have just experienced. When I arrived for the interview I was immediately taken into a dimly back room (storage area I think) and asked for two pieces of identification. Then I was told I needed to complete another application and sign a release for a criminal record check. There was no one in the office except myself and the guy interviewing me, what was supposed to be an interview anyway. I filled out the forms, but for the criminal record check I had to disclose so much private information and it made me uncomfortable. The guy was really big, and made it quite clear if I didn’t do what he asked the interview would end and I would not get the job. So I gave my SIN number, birth place, date of birth, maiden name, married names, (not married but was asked), and signed. All together, I disclosed private information consisting of 3 pages for the criminal record check, and about the same for the application both of which had small print. For identification purposes I also provided my driver’s license and health card number. After that Big Guy told me I had to complete a math test. The test contained only a few simple math problems but by then panic had set in and I could not concentrate. I knew that I probably did not pass the test which at this point didn’t really matter as I just wanted to get out of there. So instead of being told I did not get the job like I expected, the guy told me I did not read the questions properly and all my answers were wrong. He then ordered me to correct them. It was also clear to me he was going to stand there and watch me. He was really big and intimidating. Far too big for me to get passed, and some stupid voice inside me said I really need a job! I tried correcting my errors but my nerves got the best of me. Even my corrections were wrong. Big Guy wasted no time pointing out one mistake after another, demanding each time I fix them. After about three times I was a nervous wreck nearly in tears. Somehow I got the courage to tell him I was finished. He said okay if you don’t want to do this, then he moved out of my way. As soon as I stepped out of the room I realized all my private information was still on the table. I turned to go back but with his enormous size crowding the entrance there was no hope of getting by him. I asked him to get it, but he said he would shred it instead. I was too scared to challenge him so I just left. Ever since then I have been more depressed than before. He has all my information. I am terrified he could steel my identity or even worse that he will come after me. I am completely ill over this. I can’t relax. I’m not eating or sleeping. I don’t want to go outside because I don’t feel safe. I’m scared and it is driving me nuts. I hate being like this. Can you help me? I really need your help. moreVoting Question: Anxiety and Obsession Question?
Hi, I'm female and 26 years old almost. I've been experiencing some severe depression and anxiety the last couple of months. I know a lot of it was caused from abandonment issues and a bad past relationship, but prior to these two months I've never had a problem with depression. My main question is in regards to an obsessional thought. I'm really confused if this is just a "habit" I created in my mind or if you all think it is because of a low serotonin/anxiety/depression related cause due to my self worth. It could be all of the above! A few months ago I had scary racing thoughts about people in my life and if I handled situations properly. One of my racing thoughts of the name of my co-worker and her boyfriend Patrick. So the thought was non stop as follows: LauraPatrick, Laura Patrick, etc. I could not stop the thought and thought I was going crazy! I'm thinking it was anxiety/racing thought induced since I was aware of the distressing thought even though I couldn't reason with myself for it to stop. It did stop but I was majorly afraid of what happened to me! I felt like my mind was out of control. Well, ever since then I've developed an obsession with that thought. I often check in my mind to make sure it isn't going to repeat itself forever even though I know that is not logical. I seem to have convinced myself that the thought won't go away forever though even though I know that is impossible. I have been trying to figure out if I just created a fear of the thought LauraPatrick or if it is obsessive/compulsive related. I don't have a compulsion when I repeat the thought in my mind. I just check the thought several times through out the date, seeing if it is going to stop or not. It also might be related to my self esteem and past boyfriend issues since he treated me badly and I felt that Patrick has been treating Laura badly. I'm not sure if I agree with the whole subconscious thing though. I think it's more anxiety/fear related than anything. Am I right? This idea of this thought has been paralyzing me and interfering with my life. I went to a psychiatrist and she said that Prozac might help. I've never been on SSRI's and I'm not sure how my body will react. Plus I don't know it's for sure OCD and I don't have any other distressing thoughts besides this one! Sometimes I do weird things like come up with other things I can memorize like rainbows, God is good, etc and repeat it to myself and get scared it won't go away. I swear I'm not weird but I think my mind is, ha ha! Do you think I just put too much emphasis on one thought or there is something else going on? Perhaps it is just negative rumination? Do you think the meds will help with that? How can I break the habit (if it is one) or let go of the phrase? I seem to think it's going to be there forever silly as it may seem. Oh and prior to this I've never had strange worries before in my life. Normal worries but I could always release them with no problem!!! I feel like life is ruined even though I try to be positive but I beat myself up inside because I can't "fix" the thought or fear. I picture myself with this thought even on my wedding day which is irrational! I think about it most of the day until I'm severely depressed again. The pattern goes on and on...I need good advice please! Thank you, thank you! moreResolved Question: A murderer I write to may be getting released soon--should I worry?
Back in college I was putting together a research project on murderers, and I decided to actually get in contact with one for some first-hand experience. I began writing to a man in prison that was convicted of killing his mother as a teenager. Over the course of our letters, we actually became pretty good friends. He has always been nice and respectful to me, and he looks forward to my letters because he enjoys hearing about life "on the outside." We have been writing for several years now because I saw no reason to stop just because my research was over. Anyway, he has a parole hearing this January, and if approved he can possibly be getting a release. I can't believe I hadn't thought this far ahead (that he may one day get out), but I haven't and now I am just wondering if I should be concerned. He has my address because we write one another. He's never been threatening, and like I said, he says he considers me a friend and everything, but when you put it into simple words, a guy who killed his mother may get released and he knows where I live. It just sounds a bit alarming. Would you be concerned? I almost feel bad for being worried about this as I have no reason to believe he'd come after me or visit me where I live for any reason, but I wouldn't be human if I didn't worry about it.Danie, as for his crime, bad as it sounds he participated in killing his mother along with his father. The father set it up and he went along with it and they buried her in a field somewhere...he was 17 at the time. The father has life in prison without the possibility of parole. I don't know why they did it...the motive has always remained something we don't discuss. I figure if his own father set it up, he was obviously born into a bad family to begin with, and the fact they killed her together tells me it was a pretty screwed up situation. moreResolved Question: My Young Sparrow has digestion problem.Help,Pls?
We are taking care of a baby House Sparrow for 34 days and she looked like a 10-15 days chick when we found it on the driveway. She was doing so well but it's been 4 days that she eats less, she flies less, she's more sleepy.Yesterday she was nearly dieing.Let's say, choking. An hour before that she threw up a piece of food which we guessed the cause was giving apple to her for the last 2 days or bread which she used to eat either soaked in water or dry as her 1st food. For the last 2 weeks she's started eating dried meal-worm (grind-ed).Today I cut out the bread from her diet.I've put seeds(yellow millets, sesame seeds,flax-seed,sunflower seeds) has not touched them yet.she can eats and drink water on her own but we watch her out if she doesn't,we feed her. She's done bathing in her little water dish few days ago.sometimes she's trying to sing. She's not fully feathered yet.Her tail looks funny at the moment, seems it's been trimmed.we are willing to release her soon because we want to go on holiday and we don't want to keep her inside the house forever of course but one day she's fine and the other day is not.I can tell you a lot about her how amazing and intelligent this little sparrow is.Please if you know anything about sparrows on your own experience or you've heard from your friends' experience, let us know.she's doing well at the moment since we add nuts & seeds to her diet.she plays around. Her place is warm enough. The meal-worm was suggested by our local birds food shop when chick was 3 weeks old but she never touch it soaked and mushed in warm water as they advised.she likes it dry.she likes grapes & cherries too.We have searched a lot since day one and even Cat food was said by a rehabilater on their website, our sparrow refused it either dry or soaked in warm water... moreVoting Question: Can a landlord in Ontario Canada Charge you for ending a lease?
Before my husband and I even signed the original lease had they begun lying to us as tenants as the unit we looked at had a few "issues" we were told would be fixed prior to moving in such as needing wall repair in the bathroom and removal of garbage left behind by a prior tenant. Well moving day came along and low and behold when we got the keys not only was the unit which was supposed to be cleaned as promised had not had this done as there was dirty floors and dead bugs on the carpets as well as garbage in closets and a large work desk in the basement that my husband had to dismantle and remove in pieces. The house had an "off" smell and mould on the ceiling in the bathroom that despite scrubbing on a weekly basis never truly went away. The light switches were missing the plates in a couple of spots and there were missing floor vents (furnace)in two of the bedrooms. One of the lights in the basement did not work as well as the wall in the bathroom still had not been painted (eventually did this myself in the late fall of 2009 ) nor the broken door replaced (this was eventually done however, it was still unpainted when we left in 2010) and to top it all off in the time we lived there we had two major problems with the structure. The first one happened in February of 2009 when ice build up in the winter caused the roof to leak and caused water damage to the drywall in the master bedroom, something that despite writing up two work orders was still unfixed at the time we ended our tenancy in March of 2010, in fact we had to contact the property management company's head office before we even got the snow removed from the roof to prevent a leak that needed to have two large bath towels used every 1/2 an hour to clean up from continuing to soak the wall, carpet etc. Eventually the roof was "patched" (new shingles over the part where the leak occurred in the roof) in the spring however, the original shingles which were the same age as the house which was built in the 1970's were never replaced. The second was the main transformer for the fuse box in the house going which was fixed immediately but, I fear that was only due to the fact this happened after Nov. 1st and there is a rule about heat and hydro in the Landlord and Tenants Act along with the fact I had a small infant were the factors here. Lastly they are not very timely with their paperwork when raising your rent as you MUST get 90 days notice before an increase when your lease it up for renewal in our experience the lease expired the end of October however, the paperwork we received was dated the end of June and it was not physically delivered to us at our unit until the end of August well under the guidelines despite having a rental office and staff on site. There was also an issue when they showed up two days late to fix/test the furnace for the season without 24hrs notice and I had little but, no choice other than to let them as it was mandatory and I didn't want to run the risk of no heat. So therefore when we got the house immediately the next day after the paperwork had been finalized with the lawyer and the move in/out date arranged we sent a letter to the property manager's office explaining the situation EXACTLY as it had occurred at giving them over two months notice when requesting to be released from our lease, which we thought wrongly that in doing so they might allow since we had been good tenants who always paid our rent on time who kept our unit spotlessly clean, didn't throw wild parties or disrupt the enjoyment of other tenants and didn't have any "eyesores" garbage etc. out front or back, got along well with our neighbours and weren't just abandoning the unit BOY WAS I WRONG! The reason being that despite our reputation as tenants we still got dumped on for by noon that same day January 22, 2010 and without even coming down to our unit to discuss the situation and try and work out a solution we received a rather offensively worded letter that stated the following points: -You have signed another full year lease term. You signed August 30, 2009. The term of your lease expires on October 31, 2010, which you will be held responsible until that date or until we rent your unit. You are welcome to physically vacate anytime you wish, but you wil be held responsible for the rent until October 31,2010. Recently as my husband has learned upon contacting the office that the unit has been rented for September and that our rent which we paid for August will be returned to us however, there will be a $200 fee. I have looked thru my copy of the original lease and cannot find anything about a "fee" for breaking the lease early only that you would have to pay for the remainder which we have done. I also cannot find anything to state if this is indeed legal in OntarioAccording to the landlord the $200.00 is for a "Lease Fee" not anything to do with advertising or maintenance. The Landlord and Tenant Board of Ontario once again has proven usless as they did with all intital issues when they occurred. If we could have left earlier we would have unfortunately there was no other housing in our budget available at the time and they would have charged us regardless of when we left. Just grateful it's over. Also important to note we probably would have stayed on and continued to be tenants until the end of the renewed lease if it weren't for an unfortunate event in my family that resulted in the inheritance of our current house. All of this was explained at the beginning of January 2010 when we requested release from our lease. It is also important to note that if it were not for the fact I was at the time of renewal in the late stages of a rather complicated pregnancy requiring bed rest and thus unable to search for alternative housing we would not have choosen to renew the terms. moreResolved Question: Is It Normal To Be Thinking About This Much At One Time? And As A Teenager?
I'm 17 years old and currently going into my second year in 6th form. I've recently had my results back and they were good, for me anyway. But it has thrown so much into perspective and I've just been finding way too much to think about. I know that one of my friends isn't coming back next year, having failed two of her subjects. She's one of my closest and dearest friends and I love her so much. I would do anything for my friends and they would do anything for me. But it will be bizarre and saddening for her not to be there to enjoy my last year of education with me. My boyfriend also acquired two fails and I haven't heard that he's not coming back but I haven't heard that he is, because he's extremely busy most of the time. I love him very much and we've been together almost a year. But everything just got so real and with all the uni places becoming increasingly limited and the financial side of things becoming difficult, I'm not sure I want to go to uni any more. But full time work, in my line of work and how I feel about it right now, seems pretty dull. I want to do something fulfilling. I know everyone doesn't get their dream job, but with my grades, it just seems a waste to achieve something so good and not use it. I'm also worried about finances. Is it usual for a teen to worry about such things and the future? I know I'm probably one of the rare few... maybe. But there is one thing I want out of life, even if I have to have a dull job or more than one to achieve it- a family. I would do anything possible, work as many hours as I could to get enough money to be able to support a family before starting one, of course. Yes, teenage girls get pregnant. I don't want that. I want a child at the sensible age. I want a baby, to teach it things and watch it grow, to help them avoid the mistakes I made, to love it unconditionally whatever happens. Of course it's not easy but I want that.So very much. I want a family. My mum is my idol and she is such an inspiration to me and I want what she's given me and my siblings. But right now, with my siblings misbehaving when I babysit and not listening, I keep thinking 'Will I be a good parent? Will I cope?' It just makes me take a step back, but that's the one thing I want if all else fails or if it doesn't. I know it's a lot to read and I apologise, really. But I had to get it off my chest. I would really, really appreciate some advice or just some tips on how to release all this built up emotion and all these repressed thoughts. I'll talk to my parents about it of course, but it might prove beneficial to have some advice of someone who may have had experience or something. Thank you and again, sorry for the length! moreResolved Question: How much do you think Jay-Z's later success affected Reasonable Doubt's classic status?
In 1996, Reasonable Doubt wasn't as heavily praised as it is now (of course this is just my own experience, and people weren't sharing opinions with thousands of others on the internet in 96). Albums such as It Was Written, Hell on Earth, Stakes is High, Muddy Waters, and Ironman were all more heavily praised than Reasonable Doubt when they came out, yet now they're all commonly afterthoughts to Reasonable Doubt when talking about albums released in 1996. Also, all of the 5/5 ratings and other perfect ratings that it has received from professional critics were awarded at least 5 years after it was initially released, when he had established himself as one of the biggest stars in hip hop. So my question is, if Jay-Z wasn't as successful, and had only achieved the same level of success as Nas or Redman, would reviewers have given Reasonable Doubt such high ratings in the 2000s? LAWRENCEVILLE — Dacula resident Aubrey Sosebee, an octogenarian Army veteran who served during World War II, was walking to his mailbox on Ga. Highway 124 one day several years ago when an errant driver plowed over him, then fled the scene. Sosebee’s death did not come quick or easy. “He was in the hospital for several months and never recovered,” said Sosebee’s daughter-in-law, Mary Sosebee. “It was a long, horrible, grueling experience for him. He died a terrible death. He suffered.” The man who eventually pleaded guilty to hitting Sosebee — Celso Iban Campo-Durates of Lawrenceville — was not only uninsured and unlicensed, he was in the United States illegally. The family agreed to a plea deal on lesser charges of hit and run on one condition: that Durates be deported. Last they knew, he was sentenced to two years in 2005. The family was shocked to receive a letter this month from the Gwinnett District Attorney’s Office informing them Durates is in America and allegedly still driving Gwinnett roadways, as evidenced by a May arrest. “I thought he was out of the country,” said the victim’s son, Rusty Sosebee, outside a probation revocation hearing Thursday afternoon for Durates. The case illustrates the hazards of unchecked illegal immigration and shows a convict who’s slipping through the cracks, according to family members and a pro-enforcement activist at the hearing. A prosecutor called it another day at the office. Durates appeared in Gwinnett Superior Court on Thursday to again answer to charges that he was driving unlicensed in Gwinnett. Records show he’s been arrested three times since October on similar charges, twice by Lawrenceville police and most recently by Lilburn police. He was released to Immigration and Customs Enforcement after at least one of those arrests, jail records show, but his movements afterward were unclear. The hearing, meant to determine if Durates’ probation should be revoked, was continued to next month because he has not been appointed an attorney. Donning a green jail jumpsuit, he told Superior Court Judge Timothy Hamil, via an interpreter, that he’d been deported and has not violated his probation. Assistant District Attorney Rich Vandever said his office has no record of Durates being deported. As best Vandever could tell Thursday, Durates would be held for ICE on the recent charges if his probation was revoked or not. ICE officials could not be reached Thursday for information on Durates’ deportation history. “We’re dealing with deportation and the federal government,” Vandever said. “This is something that we do on a daily basis.” Also in attendance was D.A. King, founder of The Dustin Inman Society, a coalition that blasts government enforcement of illegal immigration measures. King’s group is named in memory of a Woodstock teen killed in a similar case by an unlicensed, illegal alien driver, he said. Cases like Sosebee’s are prevalent, King said. “This happens far too often,” he said. “Millions of people across the country are victimized because our federal government refuses to secure our borders.” http://www.gwinnettdailypost.com/home/headlines/101132109.html moreResolved Question: Finding a hobby after quitting drugs?
I'm a 19 year old male who went away to college freshman year. Prior to going away, I found myself involved with alcohol and marijuana. I think I was led to this path after I tore my ACL playing baseball when I was 13. That ended my hobbies... sports. With no sports in my life I found myself getting a job at the age of 14 and I constantly held a job. However, work for most people, especially teens, is not fun. This is where I believe the alcohol and marijuana came in. Come Fall semester last year, in addition to drinking and smoking weed, I found myself doing ecstasy, salvia, shrooms, percocet, ambien, adderall, xanax, and promethyzine. I only did all those a couple of times, except ecstasy. I fell in love with ecstasy and went on to do it 7 times in the span of 4 months. During the 2nd semester, I was arrested for drug paraphernalia (smoking pipe). That gave me enough reason to stop smoking marijuana. 2 weeks later, I took some ecstasy and come towards the end of the night and my "roll," I thought I was going to die. This was enough to get me to quit all drugs. A week later after this incident I was rushed to the hospital for dehydration and that's when everything went downhill. After I was released from the hospital I felt horrible for the next week. I went to urgent healthcare on campus just about every day with the same symptoms of dehydration. It turns out, what I was experiencing was heavy anxiety and a little depression. After this week of hell, I knew it was time for me to head home and get my health back together. I stopped all drugs including alcohol for 2 months. Then I found myself drinking again. Not as much as I used to, but I still went back to it. I stayed clean from all other drugs for another 2 months and then I found myself using marijuana again. I would smoke 5-6 times a day and pretty much was high all day. This lasted for 2 months, until this week. During this week, my anxiety has gotten bad once again and now I just want my life to go back to normal. I no longer feel like I'm living a normal life. I go to work and come home now and repeat this every day. Drugs were my hobby and now my life has a huge gap in it without drugs. How can I go about finding a hobby that I can enjoy and keep my mind of these drugs and hopefully get my life back together. I would love to play sports, but at my age it's hard to play unless you play at a competitive level. Since I haven't played competitively in over 5 years, I most likely won't make any team especially since I never got surgery on my torn ACL. Art is out of the question, I absolutely suck at it and can't bare to watch myself attempt doing it haha. I love music. However, most of the music I listen to deals with drugs (whether it be hip hop or indie rock). I'm not good at any instrument and my singing isn't too pleasant. There are many things I would love to get involved with, however those hobbies are very expensive. Some things I would love to get into, but cost way too much for someone my age who has to pay for school: jetskiing/boating, skydiving, and working on my car more. I would love to try snowboarding as I tried it once when I was 8. However, I live in Long Island, NY and the closest ski place is like 2 hours away. I would also love to work out more. But, every time I'm nearing the end of my workout, my anxiety decides to be a pain in the ***. I think this has to do with the fact that working out will make you sweat, increase in heart rate, weak.... which I experience all when I'm having a panic attack. Also the reason I was rushed to the hospital for dehydration was due to working out at the gym. So now I'm open to any suggestions as a hobby for a 19 year old male. I know this was a long *** post/question but I appreciate anyone that took the time to read it all and contribute. You may be able to change a young mans life. Thanks! moreResolved Question: What to do when time out fails?
My girlfriend has two small children (2 and 4) and now that they have moved in with me I am starting to help with the parenting. I have very little experience with kids, so please be kind! The kids are normally good, but sometimes they just get out of hand. The 4 year old in particular has a problem with whining and tantrums. We are trying to solve this problem. We don't believe in violence (no spankings, belts, etc.), but believe in the generous and judicious use of the time out system. The 2 year old takes to it very well. He throws a fit, gets put in time out, screams for a few minutes, then patiently waits to be released, and goes back to being a good boy when he's let out. The older one though...lately we send him to time out and it just doesn't end. My problem is that we will put him in time out in his room, and he screams and kicks and thrashes around. We'll hear beating on the walls, things being knocked over, etc. So what I'm wondering is what we do when that happens. We can't give him super time out or something. Once he's there, he's there. We have tried telling him if he doesn't stop he won't get to watch his cartoons or have any treats or anything the next day, and while that sometimes works, other times he just gets worse. So what do you do when punishing a child does not work, but anything else would be giving in and teaching him that screaming and kicking WILL work to get him what he wants? moreVoting Question: Had a near death experience. Was I in hell?

http://www.thenational.ae/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100305/FOREIGN/703049822/1014/rss Innocent life-sentence convicts freed by DNA tests still suffer James Bain walked out of a Florida prison in December after spending 35 years incarcerated for the rape and kidnapping of a 9-year-old boy. That same month a judge in Washington ordered Donald Gates released after he had served 28 years for the rape and murder of a 21-year-old college student who had been shot five times in the head. Last month Greg Taylor was let out of a North Carolina prison after spending 17 years locked up for the 1991 murder of Jacquetta Thomas, whose battered body was discovered in a cul-de-sac in Raleigh, the state capital. The three man share a horrifying reality: they never should have been imprisoned in the first place. Mr Bain and Mr Gates are among the at least 245 people in the United States who DNA testing has shown someone else was responsible for the crimes for which they were imprisoned. Mr Taylor became the first person set free by the North Carolina Innocence Inquiry Commission, established in 2006 after a series of wrongful convictions, when a three-judge panel found “clear and convincing evidence” that he was innocent. The trio’s wrongful incarcerations and return to society come at a time when states are increasingly grappling with soul-searching questions: how much are those lost years worth? How does society compensate a person for taking away his freedom? How do you calculate the monetary value of birthdays and holidays missed with loved ones? Career opportunities eviscerated? A son’s first Little League game or daughter’s high school graduation never to be experienced? Rebecca Brown, policy advocate at the Innocence Project at the Benjamin Cardoza School of Law at New York’s Yeshiva University, which works to exonerate wrongfully convicted people, said: “It would be impossible to restore a life to what it was pre-incarceration, but society has an obligation to do all it can to do so. “Even the best restitution framework cannot be defined as fair, per se, but society must do everything possible to provide compassionate assistance upon release,” she said. In this regard, Mr Bain, Mr Gates and Mr Taylor are in better situations than many others who have been released from prison after wrongful convictions. The jurisdictions that convicted and incarcerated them have compensation laws. An Innocence Project report last year found that 23 states do not offer any compensation at all and that 40 per cent of those released because DNA testing proved their innocence “have not received any compensation and many more received only a paltry amount that fell far short of repaying their losses or helping them get established in the free world”. Of the 27 states that have compensation laws, the amount offered varies from New Hampshire’s $20,000 (Dh73,460) maximum to Texas’s $80,000 per year of wrongful incarceration with no max-out amount to Tennessee’s $1 million total allowed. Florida, where Mr Bain, was imprisoned, offers $50,000 a year for each year incarcerated, meaning he is eligible to receive $1.75 million as well as 120 paid-for hours of tuition at a career centre, community college or state university. Mr Taylor can collect the maximum amount allowed under North Carolina law, $750,000, for his 17 years in prison. The Tar Heel state also offers job training and education tuition waivers. In Washington, DC, the decision of how much to award in compensation is up to the judge, who would likely cite federal law as the guide. It offers $50,000 for each year imprisoned – $100,000 a year if on death row. Mr Gates could receive $1.4 million. The Innocence Project report pointed out that only five states meet the federal standard of $50,000 a year, adopted in 2004, and that the “median amount of financial assistance per year of wrongful imprisonment is approximately $24,000” while “the median US household income is over $50,000 per year – more than twice as much as this”. “New laws in Texas, Vermont and North Carolina provide better financial assistance and an array of support services. But these good laws are the exception not the rule ... and they benefit only the exonerated in those particular states,” the report said. “For exonerees in other parts of the country, the punishment continues long after exoneration.” Ms Brown said all states should adopt not only “monetary compensation at a minimum of $50,000 per year” but also a “provision of services immediately upon release”. “The state absolutely has an obligation in this area,” she said. “At minimum, subsistence assistance, housing, transportation, medical and mental health services, education, job skills training are required.” Jeffery Deskovic is emblematic of the need for such services. Sent to a New York prison at the age of 17 for the rape and murder of a high school classmate, he had little experience in the moreResolved Question: Should I take legal action from Garage from Hell?

I was looking at some of my daughter's pictures today - from roughly a year ago, and I still feel an extreme guilt over something that happened. She got a UTI, when she was about a month old... and well I did not know, until at almost 2 months old she spiked a fever of 103. She was admitted to the Children's hospital around here for 10 days and after a TON of tests - one of which included a spinal tap, and antibiotics that made her scream because they were so hard on her stomach... she was all better and released. They told me at the hospital that if we had not brought her in she could have died because she had sepsis, because of the UTI - her body was too immature to fight off an infection like that. It was not bad enough that it got to her spinal fluid yet but it was in her blood stream. I am to this day almost haunted when I see those pictures. My heart breaks and I usually cry. I always think... what if, ya know. Like I said it has been a year and it still bothers me. "smoke a joint" dont even listen to that bullshi/t for a second thats NOT a solution. itll make your life worse. whatever your feeling now willl be amplified and over the edge if you get high. its dangerous. i smoke weed and it doesnt affect me personally but thats only after i changed. now about the situation with your dad, try to tell your mom. but it gets tricky, just tell her how you feel about your dad and only that. when you approach her dont muck it up and reveal all this stuff you typed. that could go horribly wrong depending on how she analyzes it. she may misunderstand you and come to a warped conclusion causing conflict . talk to her about how you miss him and how your feelings are haywire, thats it. insist that you need some grown up advice. instead of her babying you which could trigger your emotions again. tell her your a bit unstable and you dont want her to "feed your sadness". you dont want to get weaker. now with yourself, calm down.. i know how it feels, the past can kill you. try to face that same fear again and again. if you think your gonna start crying, dont. it wont bring him back. your only destroying yourself. just think about how much you love him. but dont cry over how much you miss him, its pointless. whats gone is gone, now heres some helpful advice, your going through something painful, but you know what is the solution, you always know the way out but you lose faith. right? (your sad, you know you can be happy, but your too sad to be happy. you dont think you can be happy. WRONG) your programing yourself to think that way, again its a delusion. believe in yourself and work towards being happy. ive thought about suicide just as an option, it seemed normal but in reality its too drastic. your constantly have a lot stuck in your head and if you dont get rid of it you feel you might just blow up i know that. once you work towards bettering your life this will all dissapear. it sounds too good to be true but youll love yourself after the worst is over. dont try to think too hard. its unecesary strain, whenever you feel your doing so, stop. youre a normal teenager. just keep thinking that way. be practical. it will be easier to sort this mess out if you email me. you can tell me whatever you want, ill fix you. i wont judge you nor will i criticize you. ill be there for ya mate. you really ne moreVoting Question: Where do you and your bf/gf hang out? Is it weird that me and my gf just hang out in quiets spots alot?
Is it wierd that we mainly just hang out in nice quiet spots by the river on bench or in parks alot and just talk and cuddle. We used to do the whole go to the movies thing but to be honest we didn't enjoy it were both 17 it would be meet outside the cinema go inside watch the movie maybe cuddle a little no talking at all and then leave the cinema and go home. Where do you and your bf/gf hang out, i guess its the stage in the relationship etc were not EXCLUSIVELY going out yet but we practically are because as my friend says if you were going out nothing will change we already do the whole kissing holding hands cuddling thing. Right now were both teens so were more intimate i guess we want to kiss cuddle and talk rather than go the the movies. Were both teens so were very sexually frustrated i guess which is why we choose less public places she cant come round mine because parents are lawyers so they either have clients or some ones always in because i have 4 other siblings lol. Same her house is never free which i why we go parks and like sitting on benches when we spend time together. I guess when we have sex regularly and release our sexual needs then maybe we won't feel the need to like rip the clothes of eachother whenever were together and can do the whole actually going out thing. Is this weird have you experienced this before? moreResolved Question: Farewell to Manzanar. Plz help answer these asap. just answer if few. PLZ PLZ PLZ?

PLEASE ONLY ANSWER IF YOU ARE UNCIRCUMCISED ok so i am an uncircumcised male and just have a couple questions Recently my guy friend had sex for the first time. We are both uncircumcised. We usually dont discuss things like this (our penises), but he said he had to give me a heads up. i am a virgin Ok so you know that little string kinda thing underneath the head? its kinda like the thing under your toungue? well he said when he put it inside the girls vagina, who was also a virgin, she was pretty tight. So what happened was that his skin pulled all the way back and kept going until THE STRING SNAPPED. OUCH he said it stung sort of a lot, but didnt hurt enough to not have sex. He says the awesomeness of sex outweighs the temporaray pain felt. Heres where it gets weird. He said that his penis GREW like 1 inch before his eyes. Anyone who is uncircumcised, you know how if you keep pullng and pulling, your head like starts to be pulled down too? well he said when it snapped, its like it "released" his head. and the skin, which is usually bundled up under the head, stretched out and filled the shaft. Its hard to describe without crazy hand motions (how he described it) ill try my best, lets say his penis is 7 inches long. (idk if it is, just hypothetically) the first 4 inches is the shaft, one is the pinkish skin, and the last 2 are the head. see what i mean? before, the skin wouldve just been like a quarter inch. (bundled together) Is this supposed to happen? ive looked online so please only answer if you have personal experience. Ive read one other thing that was EXACTLY like this. but didnt provide much info. so to wrap up: the string snapped the penis grew happened while losing virginity. only happens with a virgin maybe? since the tightness forces the skin ALL the way back until it rips the string? thanks moreVoting Question: throat feels like somethings closed up?? reaction to pill?
i've been taking omeprazole (pill that reduces acid/indigestion) over the counter. it's supposedly a "delayed release" pill but the pharmacist just told me over the phone that it's not and that i should try the real pill. so my doctor prescribed me some of the actual pill, ithink called prilosec? and he said that this is an actual delayed-release pill. however, i started taking the over the counter pill last wednesday and as of friday i started noticing that my throat had some odd pressure in the back of it. it hasn't gone away and everyone is saying that it's probably allergies to whatevers going around in the air but A) i've never had this with allergies and B) i'm not even sneezy/have other allergy symptoms. so i don't know if this is a reaction to the pill or not but right now it seems like it has gotten worse (i've taken the pill every day so far) and it's more on the right side of my throat. it's almost as if you were to put a little pressure on the area just above your adam's apple. thats what it feels like. the doc says this throat-closing-up-pressure feeling should go away when i take the actual pill but i'm kind of worried. it's been so uncomfortable. what should i do? is this even normal? has anyone experienced this before? thank you ps -- my apologies for the disorganization. i'm kind of in a panic moreResolved Question: just got an email concering piracy am i in trouble?

I find it interesting that when you're a child you produce more of it.. Why is this? Does the change when you grow older happen in everyone? Or is it just part of growing up that you experience things in life that you release it less? Like.. is it something that happens to everyone like going through puberty, or is it just learning and through life experiences that inhibit it's release more?thanks for answering cybor but I already knew those things. It is involved in everything social, inducing trust and empathy. But um this was just another question which I couldn't find an answer on, I find oxytocin extremely interesting. moreResolved Question: Help! I never received a subpoena (twice)?
Okay, I need help here. Back in April myself and three other friends were pulled over by an officer. (I am in virginia.) Long story short, there was marijuana in the car, and one guy was arrested on several possession/distribution charges. I was told that if i cooperated and made a written statement, the rest of us would get to go home. To be honest, i was high during the whole ordeal. But i made a written statement, and being as i wasn't sober i don't even remember what i wrote. I was released on a summons for a possession misdemeanor (i had a bowl in the car, which i owned up to) and went home with the other two who were free, thinking i was done with the whole thing. Now, a few weeks ago, the officer who originally pulled us over called me to confirm that i would be in court to testify against the guy that got arrested the following day. I had no idea what he was talking about, and he said the court had mailed me a subpoena - which i never received. He said since i never received the subpoena i wasn't required to appear, so i didn't go. I just got another voice mail from him tonight, saying that the court had sent me another subpoena and that even if i didn't receive it, i am required to show in court on tuesday. I have a hard time seeing why i would be required to appear on a subpoena that i never received. As far as i knew, they had to be served either in person or by certified mail - neither of which happened, and i didn't even get anything in the mail regularly. Am i really required to be there? And also, since i was high when i wrote my statement, will I get in trouble if what i say in court doesn't match up with what i wrote? Because i honestly have no idea what i said on there. Please help if you have any sort of legal background or experience with this i would really appreciate it!kelle - the officer who's been calling me originally told me that he would have to physically serve me the subpoena. he was present at my trial for my posession charge, and pulled me aside on my way out saying that he needed me to stay for the other guy's trial three hours later. i told him that was unreasonable as i had no warning of it before then. he let me leave, saying the case would be continued and took down my phone number to arrange a meeting where he could serve it. he literally told me i would not receive the subpoena through mail because i have a PO box, and never made any attempt afterwards to schedule a meeting... moreResolved Question: Rap & Hip Hop: Rate/Hate the verse?

Ok so lately I have been full of mixed feeling about everything and its all been caused by my confusion about what to do with my life. I am 16 and I’m in the middle of my summer holidays after finishing year 11. Since like the begging of year 11 I have had my heart set on going to john Rigby College to study English language, Media, Film and sociology, I wanted to go because it is a change from my high school and it is a much better building, but the main reason is the social aspect of it all like meeting new people and making new friends. But this has all been flipped on its head because I have found out about a job that I could go for that is really good and pays really well. The job is at British Aerospace and I will be doing a five year electrical engineering apprenticeship. I have a friend who is in the same year as me who has already got on straight from high school and so is not going to any college apart from his day release where he studies at a local college for a day each week for 12 hours. me and him are very similar in terms of grades but we do have differences because he is slightly better at maths than I am whereas I am better at English than he is. But anyway, if I go for the job I will have to go to my schools sixth form as the other colleges don’t do the course and I will loose connections. They take 5 people on every year; I think I will be able to get the job as I have a few connections like my friend had. And my electronics teacher has also said that he will recommend me. Even when I am on the apprenticeship I will be earning around 10k – 13k for the first year and it goes up every year until I start, and when I do actually start I will be earning 30K per year so it is really good money I will also be travelling around the world to places like Italy and France. I enjoy electronics as I am good at it and I find it interesting, from an early age I have always been interested in engineering as I used to be always building things and opening things up to see how they work. I keep thinking that if I go to sixth form and go for the job then I will be missing out on life, like meeting lots of new people and experiencing life at Uni, but will it be that good in reality or will it be lots of work and not much time to have a laugh and also lead onto a crap job rather than going for a job that could be great but could end in me feeling like I have missed out. So I guess my question is what do you think I should do, go to college and then Uni and see what happens from there or go to sixth form and go for the job? moreResolved Question: What has the Southern Medical Journal Indiana University have news on that is so earth shaking?
Have you read this as yet? Scientific Study of Healing at Iris Ministries Shows Proximity Key to Success of Healing Prayer News Release (August 6, 2010) "One subject, an elderly Mozambican woman named Maryam, initially reported that she could not see a person's hand, with two upraised fingers, from a distance of one foot. A healing practitioner put her hand on Maryam's eyes, hugged her and prayed for less than a minute; then the person held five fingers in front of Maryam, who was able to count them and even read the 20/125 line on a vision chart." (Bloomington, Indiana)—Findings reported on August 5 from a new international study of healing prayer suggest that prayer for another person's healing just might help—especially if the one praying is physically near the person being prayed for. Candy Gunther Brown, an associate professor in the Department of Religious Studies at Indiana University Bloomington, led the study of "proximal intercessory prayer" for healing. It will be published in the September 2010 issue of the Southern Medical Journal. baptism adn healing prayer by Iris MinistriesThe study, titled "Study of the Therapeutic Effects of Proximal Intercessory Prayer (STEPP) on Auditory and Visual Impairments in Rural Mozambique," measured surprising improvements in vision and hearing in economically disadvantaged areas where eyeglasses and hearing aids are not readily available. (Photo: Iris Ministries) "We chose to investigate 'proximal' prayer because that is how a lot of prayer for healing is actually practiced by Pentecostal and Charismatic Christians around the world," Brown said. "These constitute the fastest-growing Christian subgroups globally, with some 500 million adherents, and they are among those most likely to pray expectantly for healing." Brown and her colleagues carried out the study as part of a larger research program, funded by the John Templeton Foundation Flame of Love Project, on the cultural significance and experience of spiritual healing practices. As editor of a forthcoming book on Global Pentecostal and Charismatic Healing (Oxford University Press, scheduled for release January 2011), Brown has made an in-depth, seven-year study of how Pentecostals worldwide pray for healing. Although Pentecostals often pray for their own healing and request distant intercessory prayer, they consider proximal prayer to be particularly efficacious and emphasize the importance of physical proximity and human touch in praying effectively for healing. "When people feel that they have a serious need for healing, they are willing to try almost anything," Brown said. "If they feel that a particular religious or spiritual practice healed them, they are much more likely to become an adherent. This phenomenon, more than any other, accounts for the growth of these Christian subgroups globally." Brown and her colleagues studied the activities of the healing groups Iris Ministries and Global Awakening in Mozambique and Brazil because of their reputation as hotspots of specialized prayer for those with hearing and vision impairments. The researchers used an audiometer and vision charts to evaluate 14 rural Mozambican subjects who reported impaired hearing and 11 who reported impaired vision, both before and after the subjects received proximal intercessory prayer (PIP). The study focused on hearing and vision because it is possible to measure them with hearing machines and vision charts, allowing a more direct measure of improvement than simply asking people whether they feel better. Subjects exhibited improved hearing and vision that was statistically significant after PIP was administered. Two subjects with impaired hearing reduced the threshold at which they could detect sound by 50 decibels. Three subjects had their tested vision improve from 20/400 or worse to 20/80 or better. These improvements are much larger than those typically found in suggestion and hypnosis studies. Brown recounted that one subject, an elderly Mozambican woman named Maryam, initially reported that she could not see a person's hand, with two upraised fingers, from a distance of one foot. A healing practitioner put her hand on Maryam's eyes, hugged her and prayed for less than a minute; then the person held five fingers in front of Maryam, who was able to count them and even read the 20/125 line on a vision chart. Dr. John Peteet, a professor at Harvard Medical School, similarly commented in an editorial in the current issue of the Southern Medical Journal: "Whatever their views about the efficacy of healing prayer and about whether it belongs in the armamentarium of medicine, clinicians and Believers share core commitments to healing whenever it is possible, and to meaningful acceptance when it is not." Posted this question in 'Women's Health' about half an hour ago and only had one response so I am reposting it in here, sorry I know it is the wrong section, but I think you ladies might know a bit more... I was on the combined pill for 4 years up until March, I then was experiencing this "strange feeling" so went to the doctors who changed my pill to a mini pill, however, 5 months later and it is back. The feeling is like my vagina is really heavy and pulling down, as if it is full of blood that needs to be released (sorry for a disgusting description!) It isn't painful, more uncomfortable, like I need to screw myself up into a ball. It comes and goes, is quite constant when I do get it, for at least an hour or so, sometimes for days at a time. Whilst I can stand the feeling, obviously I would rather I didn't have it! With the pill I am on at the moment, I don't have a period and thought it might be related to that but it was happening before when I was having regular periods. I am not very good with my pills, often miss them and never take them at the same time every day, sometimes forgetting to take the pill for days at a time. Could this be the reason why I get this feeling? Over the past couple of days whilst this feeling has been coming more frequently, I have been feeling very sick and today was sick. Could this be related? Anyway, the main reason I am asking this is because I 'googled' my symptoms and ended up deciding I had a prolapsed uterus and scared myself!! Although it said usually older woman or woman who have had children get this. I am only 20, have no children but have had one miscarriage. Has anyone else experienced this? I will be going to the doctors again but can't get in until next week and just wanted to know what to expect. Thanks and sorry for the long questionThe reason they changed me from the combinded pill to the mini pill is because of the risk of blood clots moreResolved Question: what do you feel when you read this?

This is an article I wrote on Oregon's Quarterback situation what do you guys think: After the University of Oregon suspended then released Quarterback Jeremiah Masoli who is now going to line up behind center for the Ole Miss Rebels, the question for Oregon is where do we go from here. The Ducks could go with the senior, Nate Costa who has had some injury trouble since high school, but he did beat the UCLA bruins last year who weren’t exactly fantastic but they were no Washington state or we could start Sophomore Darron Thomas who is less experienced but more athletic quarterback who did not play last season, but has shown promise. Unless Chip Kelley pulls a shocker and starts Bryan Bennett, Dustin Haines, or Daryle Hawkins, Costa or Thomas will start for Oregon next season. There are reasons to start and not to start each of the guys, Costa Is more experienced and understands the offense better, however He is not as athletic as Thomas and is somewhat injury prone. Thomas, on the other hand is taller and more athletic but experience may be a factor when Coach Kelley makes his Decision. I truly believe that in this season, at least for the start of it. Nate Costa will be the Quarterback Because, although he is not a Scrambler, or an athlete and may even have trouble seeing over the 6-7 offensive lineman Mark Asper, but I do think that when it comes down to it, Chip Kelley will decide to put Costa at quarterback. Now I am not Chip Kelley, I don’t know what he’s thinking. He could start Costa, Thomas or Brett Favre (because we all have a feeling if he’s not in the NFL, he’ll play football somewhere.) So the simple answer is, I don’t know, Costa and Thomas don’t know and I’m willing to bet Chip Kelley doesn’t know I guess we will all find out at the start of the season for the ducks, But what I do know is that either of these guys will have all of Autzen stadium cheering them on. moreResolved Question: models needed for hat website & ads (Lancaster, PA) is this ad a scam?.?

...I am a muslim convert and this year will be my 4th Ramadan, inshallah. I have a question regarding my menses and I am too embarrassed to ask anyone in person and have found nothing on the subject on the internet so far so I am hoping one of the sisters here may be able to help. I am married and using a contraceptive implant (a small rubbery bar that has been implanted under the skin of my left arm to slowly release contraceptive hormones - similar to ones found in the pill). I was told upon having this 'implanon' as it is known, that it would probably stop me from having periods however for me it has had the opposite effect and my periods are very irregular but when they come I have them for a long time. I have now been on my period for 2 weeks and I'm worried it won't stop before ramadan and even that it could continue on and off through the month of Ramadan and I don't know what to do about this as I have never had a period since getting the Implanon during Ramadan. To the best of anyone heres knowledge, do you know whether I should consider myself to be experiencing istihadah (abnormal vaginal bleeding seperate to menses) and so I should fast and pray (making my ablutions before each prayer) or should what I am experiencing still be considered my menses and so I would continue to refrain from prayer/fasting. I'm worried I will do wrong and I know Allah sees our intentions but it is also our duty to seek knowledge on these matters where possible, right? I wondered if anyother muslim ladies had heard any rulings relating to this matter or if anyone can help at all. May Allah reward you.I have been to my doctor and he said that while most women who use a contraceptive implant find that their periods disappear altogether, the longer periods that I am experiencing are not a problem and that they are just a rarer and less desirable side effect to using this time of contraceptiveWalikum selam sisters, I have looked at the link given, but I am still worried that my situation is different because that sister was experiencing menopause whereas my menses are being affected by birth control. I have found this link which gives an answer perhaps more appropriate to my situation: http://islamweb.net/emainpage/index.php?page=showfatwa&Option=FatwaId&Id=84359 any other suggestions/thoughts welcomeAll the answers given were so helpful, thank you everyone for taking your time to help me with my problem. From now on whenever this happens I will know to obstain from salat, etc for the first 10 days and to count the rest as istihadah. Just to provide share the knowledge I've found out today by scouring the net for other women who maybe having the same/similar problem as me: Istihadah seems to mean any bleeding that lasts unusually shorter/longer than your normal period and for a period of less than 3 and more than 10 days in the hanafi and hanbali madhabs and less than 24hours or more than 15 days according to the shafi'i and maliki madhabs. Being in a state of istihadah means praying/fasting is still obligitory on you and the minimum time of purity between two periods seems to be 15 days for all madhabs. For further information on this issue from the hanafi, hanbali and shafi'i schools of thought I have posed links below that may be helpful.Hanafi: http://www.ummah.net/Al_adaab/fiqh/saheefah.html Hanbali: http://www.scribd.com/doc/7125711/Hanafi-Fiqh And Shafi'i (the Malaki school of thought seem to have similar opinions on this matter: http://qa.sunnipath.com/issue_view.asp?HD=3&ID=2172&CATE=397 moreResolved Question: What do you think of Jericho's comments about TNA and does this put to rest the idea of him leaving WWE?
What has been the most rewarding part of the release of Fozzy's fourth album, Chasing the Grail and what it has been like for the Band to be embraced band by their peers within the rock/metal scene and the music industry: "I think how the band started, it was a fun thing playing a lot of covers, and that's how we were signed by the guy that signed Metallica and Anthrax. "We really didn't understand it, but we did it, and then to morph out of that into a 'real band,' playing all original stuff, especially our last two records. Just to see the shift in attitudes from people who understands the band, it has become a viable, kick-ass rock n' roll band with great songs. I think an example of the most rewarding part was when we played in BB Kings in New York; we had four-fifths of Anthrax there, Avenged Sevenfold joined us on stage, Vinnie Paul from Pantera was there. Just a huge cavalcade of guys from the business there, and it was just cool to say that we have respect from our peers, which is so important." His upcoming seven-on-seven Elimination Tag Team Match at SummerSlam (Team WWE vs. The Nexus), why the angle with The Nexus has generated so much positive buzz, and why he belives the fans have been intrigued thus far: "This match is cool, because obviously they created a great angle using guys who have never had matches on TV before basically, which I don't think has ever been done before, and to have such a talked about storyline. "Seven guys who have proved nothing as far as being main-event draws, but it goes to show that when you have a good storyline, a good idea, and promote it the right way. I'm just excited about it, and I'm happy about the storyline leading up to it. I think people are really intrigued by the whole situation, and that's the best thing you could do, and to me, that's the most important thing has always been the story. The match is important, but it's the story that gets you there." The evolution and growth of Jericho's rookie from NXT Season I Wade Barrett, why Chris knew that he saw himself with "the winner" as soon as they were paired up together, and why he would have been a great star in the WWE whether The Nexus was created or not: "There really hasn't been much growth...he was good from the moment that he appeared. You could see his presence and his promo ability right off the bat was tremendous, his whole look and ambiance, so he was a star right off the bat, and as soon as I was paired up with him, I knew I was with the winner, because he's got it more than these other guys do. Work wise, we really haven't seen much from him. Is he a great worker? Is he a good worker? Does he suck? "I don't know, I think he's a good worker and has room for improvement, and that's because he doesn't have a lot of experience in WWE arenas. But he, by far, is the most talented of the group, the biggest star of the group. Whether they created Nexus or not, he would have been a great star in the WWE. The only thing we need to work on with him is his actual matches, because we haven't gotten to see much, except for a couple of three-minute matches. But other than that, I think he's the total package of what we are looking for in the WWE at this point." The comparisons of The Nexus to the original NWO, along with the recycling of old angles in professional wrestling and sports-entertainment: "There's only so many ideas you could think of, and there's only so much talent out there. The bottom line is there's so many new guys on the shows nowadays, so you have to use that to your advantage, or you have to go back to your old faithful. I don't see this being the NWO, because the NWO wasn't like this. "The NWO began with three guys that were all World Champions and big huge stars. So you have Hall, Nash, and Hogan who everyone had known and seen before, and that was part of the shock. The Nexus, we don't know any of these guys or seen any of them before. They have never drawn a dime anywhere, and that's the difference. This pack that are working as a well-oiled machine that's done nothing before...that's the real surprise. As far as what TNA is doing with ECW, why not?" Why he sees TNA as being a "vanity project that's been treading water for the last four years," why he sees their booking being "horrendous," why the Hardcore Justice could spike their PPV buyrates, and why bringing in Tommy Dreamer could be just what the company needs: They got nothing else going on, their booking is horrendous, and I say that with the utmost respect for those guys and I most desire to see them succeed, but it's crap. You know it's crap, they throw stuff up against the wall, and it's so hard to watch when it doesn't have to be. "They're doing 10,000http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/article/chris-jericho-bashes-tna-creative-speaks-on-wwe-future-108409didn't fronline win in the end.Cause Kurt lost to AJ right and that disbanded them I think. moreResolved Question: Lindsay Lohan the Jailbird?
I believe that Lindsay Lohan's premature release from prison, after serving only 14 days of her 90 day sentence, is an affront to the American Judicial System. Why is it that celebrities seem to have a "get out of jail free/early" card at their disposal at ALL times? Has the American public been conditioned to believe that this is "just how things work"? It is appalling to believe that someone could have committed the same crime as someone else but receive a lighter sentence because they were able to afford a better attorney or simply had some "incentives" for the judge/jury. This is a recurring scenario that is playing over and over. I remember when Paris Hilton served like 2 days in prison and then complained about how traumatic the experience was. Hell, she got her own cell that was like 10 times the size of MY living room, her own cell PHONE and nonstop visiting hours. Even when being punished it seems that celebrities never cease being pampered. America is resembling more of an Oligarchy these days and not a free and just Capitalist society...But that's what happens I guess when you let self-righteous, elitist liberals run your media and government... Now on to my question, do you guys think it was RIGHT for her to be released or was it appalling? moreResolved Question: Lindsay Lohan, Jail Bird?

O.J. Simpson, Michael Jackson, Paris Hilton, Kim Cardasion...Response to HyperDog: First of all, I advice you to take your own advice and try to find something more worthwhile to whine about other than complaining about ME "whining". Last I checked, most offenders who have had as many problems as Lindsay has in the past, didn't get off as quick as she did. What can Conservatives do when the Liberals control the media and culture of this country? Lets not forget that people also get stricter penalties under Conservative judges. They aren't as passive as this fag. P.S. I would love to know who gets her private cell. Wonder who covers that budget too?P.S.S. Repeat offenders who have been accused of abusing alcohol while driving AND smoking marijuana ALWAYS get stricter punishments than a mere 14 days in jail. In your opinion, which is better? I'm looking into purchasing either a used Canon Rebel XT or a very high-end point-and-shoot camera (like the two in the links below). My price range is only about $200 - $275, hence why I would be purchasing an outdated, used camera. (I would be buying a used camera outfit with no additional lenses, just what is included in an ebay lot) I may want to study photography in college. But, right now, I'm more concerned about picture quality. I've been using film SLRs for a short while. Anyway, right now, I'm mainly concerned about image quality. Which do you think would be better? An older DSLR or a new point-and-shoot? I know that it all lies in the hands of the photographer, but I'd love to hear your personal experiences with the Rebel XT and image quality. I looked for reviews, but most were from when the camera was first released and thought to be the "best thing around."
