Resolved Question: Where can I download DJ Maxwell's House's songs?
about 6-7 years ago I stumbled across some songs by a college DJ with a show called Maxwell's House. His songs were parodies of popular rap songs that used the original music with humorous new lyrics. Two examples that I remember are: Wobbly Shopping Cart - to the music of DHT - Listen To Your Heart Halitosis - to the music of Ying Yang Twins - Whisper Song There was also one about Christmas lights being up too long as well as one about Hurricane Katrina. Roughly 8 songs in total could be found on Maxwell's site for free download. These songs were catchy and hilarious and I had them downloaded and burned to cd's, but alas, I've lost both :/ Any information you can provide would be greatly welcomed, even just a note if you know what the heck I'm talking about, lol. THANK YOU **Partial Lyrics** "Wobbly shopping cart, oops I didn't mean to bump into you, it's this wobbly shopping cart..." moreResolved Question: Does he like me? I can't tell if he likes me as more than a friend or not?
I met this guy in September in my algebra class and he started talking to me. We became friends but then we started getting closer and we would text eachother a lot, we would only stop if one of us was going to bed or had to do something where we couldn't text. He started to give me hugs everyday. Also, at my friends sweet 16, he slow danced with me to "Why Don't Kiss Her" by Jesse McCartney then texted me after he left saying "You looked gorgeous tonight btw" but then I sent him a forward saying "see what everyone wants from you for Christmas" and he replied 1:bffs, 3:friendship, & 8:hug. That was in December, yet he still calls me things like sweetness, or mamasita, hot, gorgeous and even put my name in the lyrics of Replay by Iyaz.. I'm soo confused on his feelings for me..help!! moreResolved Question: I have... dreams, about a satanic group?
Okay... I recently for Christmas got a new iPod touch 3rd gen 8GB and I love it. But a few weeks ago, I had a dream about it where like there was just something demonic on it.. So I removed a few things I put on there off, and I didn't have the dream again. But last night, I had a dream, but it wasn't really about the iPod being "demonic"... it was something about the music I listen too. Only artists I have on my iPod are: Michael Jackson (117 songs) Supremes (11 songs) Janet Jackson (9 songs) Marvin Gaye (1 song) Earth Wind & Fire (3 songs) Al' Green (1 song) The Spinners (1 song) La Toya Jackson (1 song) Three Degree's (1 song) Jackson Five (23 songs) That's all. So in the beginning of the dream, I'm in my bed and I hear my mother in her room talking to my dad about this terrifying dream she had. All I could hear was her mumble though, I couldn't understand what she was saying. In the middle of her talking, my dad shouts, "REVERSED MOONWALK?!" (my dad is very serious about dreams, he believes God gives you dreams of vision to show you things to come. And he does not like it when it's a bad dream especially when you've had the same topic over once, which supposedly my mom was having.) he shouted it as if it was terrifying. So immidietly, when I heard "reversed" it reminded me of Illuminati... And "moonwalk" reminded me of course of Michael Jackson. And then my iPod, reminded me of the music I listen to. Put it all together, Michael Jackson Illuminati music is on my iPod? Maybe Michael was part of it? Or against it? idk. :| I don't want all of a sudden to realize he was apart of Illuminati... cause of stupid dreams... Cause I've been a fan for 3 years. -.- ***NOTE*** Illuminati is a satanic group that controls most of the successful music artists these days like Rihanna, Chris Brown, Jay-z, Beyonce, etc. They add satanic lyrics in songs when you play them backwards. (reverse them..) So like in the rest of the dream, I was in my room, and using my IPOD to fight against demons in my house... Later, my brother comes in the room and says "is there something evil in this house?" I replied "yes, we're fighting it right now." he replied "If the iPod thing doesn't work, theres a classic solution that always works." (for some reason when he said that, I was thinking of the movie "The Exorcist" and how they used preachers to bind the demons out.) I replied "What is it?" when he said "You get a monkey, slap it, then it slaps you, and you slap it." I replied "Okay, I'll do that if this doesn't work." Right after that, the dream like stopped, and I had this vision of outside my window, a big nasty thunder cloud, it thundered and shot a bolt of lightning. (this might of been because it was actually raining in real life while I was dreaming.) Then I woke up. PLEASE EXPLAIN.. I'm so confused. :E PS. Owl City - Rainbow Veins High rise, veins of the avenue Bright eyes and subtle variations of blue Everywhere is balanced there like a rainbow above you Street lights glisten on the boulevard And cold nights make staying alert so hard For heaven's sake, keep me awake so I won't be caught off guard Clearly I am a passerby but I'll find a place to stay Dear pacific day, won't you take me away? Small town hearts of the New Year Brought down by gravity, crystal clear City fog and brave dialogue converge on the frontier Make haste, I feel your heartbeat With new taste for speed, out on the street Find a road to a humble abode where both of our routes meet The silver sound is all around and the colors fall like snow The feeling of letting go, I guess we'll never know Cheer up and dry your damp eyes and tell me when it rains And I'll blend up that rainbow above you and shoot it through your veins Cuz your heart has a lack of color and we should've known That we'd grow up sooner or later cuz we wasted all our free time alone Your nerves gather with the altitude Exhale the stress so you don't come unglued Somewhere there is a happy affair, a ghost of a good mood Wide eyed, panic on the getaway The high tide could take me so far away VCR's and motorcars unite on the Seventh Day A popular gauge will measure the rage of the new Post-Modern Age Cuz somewhere along the line all the decades align We were the crashing whitecaps On the ocean And what lovely seaside holiday, away A palm tree in Christmas lights My emotion Struck a sparkling tone like a xylophone As we spent the day alone Pretty shure they are about drugs but which drugs and which parts actually mean what? (what are they talking about?) moreResolved Question: Do u kno the title of this song?
Help plz!!!! I heard this song on the radio and don't know the title of the song. This song is sung by a male singer. It is kind of a faster dance/pop genre. I only know a few of the lyrics and they go something like "It was 1937 in Delaware at a Christmas Eve party..."? Not sure if that is right tho. :/ The song tells a story of a man dancing with a girl at a Christmas Eve party in 1937 in Delaware. He never asked her her name. She was wearing a red dress i think is what the song mentioned. The man never saw her after that party. The man went to a restaurant years later and a waitress asked him what his favorite Christmas memory was and he said "It was 1937 in Delaware at a Christmas Eve party where i asked this girl in a red dress to dance but i never caught her name" haha i think that is what it says. The man also tells his children of the girl that he danced with that he never caught the name of. Then when the man was lying in this hospital bed. A little old nurse was holding his hand and the man asked the woman what her favorite Christmas memory was with tears in his eyes and she said "It was 1937 in Delaware at a Christmas Eve party where a man asked me to dance but I never caught his name" If you know this song plz tell me the title and artist!!! It will help alot!! Thank u soo much!! :) moreResolved Question: Do lyrics have to make sense in every line I write?
Hello, I am an amateur songwriter for almost 3 years and nowadays I feel like I am getting closer to writing better lyrics and melodies. But as I make up better melodies, I feel like I need to concentrate also more on the meaning of lyrics and the connection of each line with the consecutive one. On the other hand, I also feel now that art and logic could be contrary terms in that any artwork doesn't need to embrace logic at all and still could be a masterpiece. So in other words, I mean that even though my lyrics would be consisting of two lines like: "-I need you, I don't care" (where the lines don't seem to have a common point here) I can still make maybe a classic song with a classic melody out of it. For instance below is a lyrics example by the group "The Hives" which in my opinion is comprised of some lines that are left open and don't seem to have much of a sense and which at the same time I can hardly classify the lyrics whether it is okay to write this way or not as I am still torn between necessity of logic or the letting the possibility of some irrationality a go. "Hate To Say I Told You So" Do what I want cause I can and if I don't because I wanna be ignored by the stiff and the bored because I'm gonna. Spit and retrieve cause I give and receive because I wanna gonna get through your head what the mystery man said because I'm gonna. Hate to say I told you so. I do believe I told you so. Now it's all out and you knew cause I wanted to. Turn my back on the rot that's been planning the plot - because I'm gonna. No need for me to wait - because I wanna. No need two, three and too late - because I'm gonna. Hate to say I told you so. I do believe I told you so. Do what I please gonna spread the disease because I wanna gonna call all the shots for the "No"s and the "Not"s because I wanna. Ask me once I'll answer twice cause what I know I'll tell because I wanna. Sound device and lots of ice I'll spell my name out loud because I wanna, oh yeah? FOR INSTANCE HERE: Do what I want cause I can and if I don't because I wanna be ignored by the stiff and the bored After "if I don't" there is nothing binding it with the complementary part of the "if sentence". If you don't then what?? the sentence is totally left open.. Do you think this is okay? I mean if yes, I can really relax and write whatever strikes me as long as I feel what I say. Then I am happy and go easy with songwriting :) I appreciate all your comments and thanks for that :) Happy Christmas all from Ankara capital of Turkey ;) moreResolved Question: Can you name a Song that mentions the Word"Love" in the Lyrics, but not the Song Title?

Merry Christmas Eve Everybody! I hope you're all setting up for a really nice long weekend. A really nice holiday and just doing great in general. My best to everybody! Well, here's the top 101 song of the day. I hope you all enjoy it First off, here are the recent selections. 55. Bruce Hornsby and the Range - The Way It Is 54. Fionn Regan - the Underwood Typewriter 53. Morrissey - Alsatian Cousin 52. Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit 51. Jane's Addiction - Three Days 50. Blur - Trimm Trabb 49. Franklin For Short - Like A Feather 48. David Bowie - It Ain't Easy 47. The Old 97's - Streets of Where I'm From For number 46 I went with a guy who I believe may be the best pure pop song writer of my lifetime. Perhaps in rock history. The guy just writes amazing melodies and lyrics that hook the ear. Interesting and innovative, but always relatable. Sure, him and Lennon would never be as good separately as they were together, but man can Sir Paul write a tune. Paul McCartney - Too Many People http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0P_HKQGq730 So what did you think of the choice? Who is your favorite Beatle? What's the best song for any (or all if you feel so inclined) of them post the Beatles? Thanks a lot everybody, as always. I really hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday. Be careful on the roads and have a lot of fun.Hi Wire, Happy Holidays man. I'm glad you liked the song. I really like Ram (the record this song comes from) a lot. The self titled is very good too. Anyways. Thanks man. I'll have a listen to the Generationals track. I haven't heard of them before now. Thanks for the tip. Have a good one man. Hi Jimmy. You don't like that? (insert smile face) I don't know. It hits me nice, although I can see how it could be a bit obnoxious as well. "Piece of cake!" I like Band on the Run a lot. I have a buddy who can't stand that song for some reason, I don't get it. Great song. Happy Holidays Jimmy! Hey Deathcube. Thanks a lot man. Glad you like the choice. Happy holidays man.Merry Christmas TL. Thanks a lot man. I'm glad you dug the tune. Like I told Wire, if you're looking to get into him Ram is a very good record. God is a really good track. I dig it. Thanks a lot man. Have a great holiday. moreResolved Question: Do I have a Sixth Sense? (ESP) If so what kind? Lots of details included.?
I'm not even sure where to begin but I'll do my best to explain. I've always felt I was different; that I had something different that no one had. I have very acute senses that some people can not believe. I may wear glasses, but I think in general my eyes are very good; especially my side vision. My sense of hearing is very, very, very good. I can hear such small tiny sounds, ect. I'm very grateful and thankful everyday that I am the way I am, and that I have acute senses. I was a preemie so everyone thought I'd have some sort of detriment because of being three months early, being so small, being underdeveloped, ect. I have been called a mind reader, and a psychic as a joke many, many times. This week however when my friend said it was as if I had a sixth sense. I got to thinking and decided to ask on Yahoo Answers. I know things. I don't know how to explain it but I do. I know when people lie to me.I tell people that if you lie to me, I'll always know and find out why and I always do. I have gut feeling/notions a lot. I use the world feel often. Examples, "I feel like your upset..." "I feel like I know what's going on..." ect. I just know things in general. Sometimes I swear I have telepathy with some of my family. My sister and I are close. There have been times where one of us would be thinking of something, and the other would be thinking of the same thing, get an idea from it, ect. There was one time felt my mom was home so I went downstairs. I yelled into the kitchen for her and my sister said she wasn't home. Then she walks through the door 2 seconds later. Yesterday my mom 's legs ached, and I told her mine did too. We we're eating dinner together and she said her back hurt too. A few minutes later my back started to hurt for no reason. I hesitantly asked her where her back hurt. (I was originally going to say, "Does your lower back hurt?" but I thought that would freak her out) She said her lower back, and that's where I felt pain. I went upstairs in my room and the back pain and leg pain disappeared. When I came downstairs to see her, it happened again. A week ago I saw a friends page on deviantART gone. Completely erased. She was upset and said she was thinking things elsewhere. I felt a lump form in my throat and I visited her BFF's page and felt/knew something wasn't right. I just feel an immense wave of sorrow sweep over me, a lump form in my throat and I startedshaking; tears threatening to fall. I had "Always" by Saliva playing like a broken record in my head and I started sobbing and felt drained. It was like I felt both of their sorrow together. I had no clue what was going on; I knew absolutely nothing. Yet a wave of immense sorrow overcame me and I broke down. I felt like I knew what happened, yet I had to indication as to how. When she talked to me she said my lyrics were fairly accurate and she asked if I talked to her friend. She asked me if I talked to her BFF because I sounded like I knew what happened. I've had that happen before when I read a journal on dA. I didn't know the person. I've never been in their situation, yet I started sobbing the same way I did there. I've had future dreams. I'm not talking about deja vu's. (I get those often btw) This is completely different. I don't like when bugs or spiders get into my room. I've had two dreams with a spider in my room. I'd wake up shaking and search my room to see if the spider was there. The following night a spider was truly there. I had a dream about my crush getting a girlfriend. The next day he shows me a Christmas card of them kissing and says they're a couple. I have sosososoo many more things I could say but I don't want to bore you. XD Here's some of my traits that could possibly deal with ESP. I'm passionate about what I do, and I'm a perfectionist. I care about the well being of others and often worry myself sick over others. I put friends and family before myself. I'm very, very emotional and cry very easily. I'm weak and meek and I can't stick up for myself. I sometimes believe the weather has an effect on my mood. I'm very negative about my appearance and I think I'm ugly personally. The little things in life mean the world to me and when people do acts of kindness I go out of my way to thank them. Little kids warm up so quickly to me. People come to me for advice to rant and vent. I like to listen to others and try to help them. I pray for people a lot. I have an awesome memory. Idk, those are the only things I can think of that might have to do with ESP. XP So do you think I have a Sixth Sense? And if so what kind(s) do I have? Thank you so much for your help! I really appreciate it more than works can say! ♥ Thank you and God Bless! ♥Oh, I forgot to mention. I get headaches a lot on the weekends. Hardly ever during the weekdays 'cause I'm at school. I also hate big crowds, and lots of people in one area. moreResolved Question: "What Christmas Should Be" Sign Language?

Please and Thank you =^.^= moreVoting Question: I am looking for lyrics for a Christmas song?
I am looking for the Lyrics to Under the Stars, a Christmas carol that is not very well known. I asked this question before and got something really close, but not the arrangement I want, I guess. I know the first verse and the end of the third verse, but not the second or the beginning of the third. Here is what I know: Under the stars, one Holy Night Jesus a babe was born Over his head a star shone bright Glowing until the morn Wisemen and shepherds came that way Seeking the Baby, where he lay Sleeping upon a bed of hay Under the Stars one night what I know of the third verse picks up at the fourth line and finishes like this: O little baby come once more Come as you came in days of yore So we can worship and adore Under the stars, tonight! I will be eternally grateful if anyone can supply me with this. We sang it when I was in second or third grade in a Christmas program, and my teacher gave me a copy of the sheet music, which I was teaching my children, then the book it was slipped into was stolen, and I now would give anything to get another copy. The Kiddies .com site has another arrangement, but the words are not quite right, I would like the same words I learned as a child. I know the first verse is exactly right. Both of the answers so far are not the arrangement with the exact wording I provided. I am absolutely sure of the wording of the first verse, so please only answer if you wording matches that first verse, because so far I am only being given the wrong words that I was already able to find for myself. moreResolved Question: Who sings this Christmas Disney Song that appears on some of their commercials?
Who sings this Christmas Disney Song that appears on some of their commercials? The song goes something like, "It's a little magic"... (something I can't remember lol) "wonderland"... Well it's 2 o clock on Sunday afternoon, And the sun is slowly fading into the night, As the wind picks up I welcome the breeze, As it over takes and cleanses me. The sand on the beach is glistening, While I see my baby neice on the swings, Just back and forth back and forth, I think 'this is where my heart lays' On top of the world I sat with cocaine, Not relised my Mother was feeling this pain, A thousand daggers I lodged into her back, Confusing her as to what she did wrong. But as of today I will only remember her, As the Mother who took me into her arms, Fended of the sun when it was getting dark, This sunburn on my neck makes me feel alive. I'm waking the neighbours cause christmas is soon, I introduce myself as the brand new me, The one that doesn't rely on the drugs, The one whose been saved by only one hug. The hug of a child who doesn't know wrong, She's just happy listen to a dinosaur song, On the coach she's sleeping with Wylde in her lap, That dog would protect here no matter the fight. My Cousin is getting married just after Christmas, She wishes that my Mother could see it, But I will be there with her in my heart, Watching as friendships all depart. Into a love so grand that it makes me believe, Life isn't as bad as I continuosly made it seem, So with a smile on my face and my niece's hand in mine, We will smile as her Mother walks down the isle. I thought Christmas time will make me depressed, But instead it's keep my heart beating in my chest.Your amazing too Michelle :) moreResolved Question: Christmas gift for really close girl?
Okay so I have liked this girl for a long time and things are finally getting going. We held hands for the first time last night. I want to do something simple and sweet for her for Christmas. Nothing big or expensive (I don't want to freak her out). She heads home tomorrow and I want to hide whatever I give her in the car so that she'll find it when she gets home. I was thinking of possibly doing something with the lyrics to a song I wrote for her (I haven't yet told her that it's for/about her). Please help. Any ideas??? I want to make this cute, but simple. (I asked this before, but my computer freaked out on me. Thanks to everyone who helps!) If I did something with the song, here are the lyrics I'd use. I wrote it for her over Thanksgiving Break: Worth The Wait Like the leaves fall to the ground I’m just stuck here waiting ‘round For someone to come and pick me up Not just anyone will do I’ve been waiting here for you To be the one who comes and picks me up It’s just a matter of time Before you open your eyes Soon enough you will realize... that you know We were meant to be together This is the start of forever and ever Let’s put our past behind us And we’ll run to where it never will find us Girl you know, it’s never too late It was worth the wait You came ‘round and picked me up Thawed my heart out with your love Winter’s cold breath slowly letting go Hand in hand and heart to heart Without you I fell apart Now you’re here I’m never letting go It’s just a matter of time Before you open your eyes Soon enough you will realize... that you know We were meant to be together This is the start of forever and ever Let’s put our past behind us And we’ll run to where it never will find us Girl you know, it’s never too late It was worth the wait Sometimes we must take a fall Before we can grow very tall And when you do, I will pick you up If you ever start to slide I will be here at your side My arms wrapped around you, hold you up It’s just a matter of time Before you open your eyes Soon enough you will realize... that you know We were meant to be together This is the start of forever and ever Let’s put our past behind us And we’ll run to where it never will find us Girl you know, it’s never too late You are worth the wait moreVoting Question: Could I potentially make a career out of this?
Hello, Im a 15 year old boy who has a huge interest in music and within music, I am a singer/pianist/songwriter. So, here's what I'd like to know if you could please spare 5 minutes of your time. The below links, are youtube videos of me performing two songs. Run by snow patrol, which I performed and recorded following two practices in a recording studio. The second, being my performance of When a Child Is Born at my christmas concert, just the third time I had played and sang this piece together. It would be hugely appreciated if you could give me feedback, either positive or negative on the playing of the piano and of my voice. Thank you for that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lYgjr6Y6zo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZDpHXKD-AY & I also have written a song, the lyrics shown below. Your comments on them would be great as well, thankyou very much. Let it Show Written and Composed by Ben Wardropper From the moment that I first set my eyes on you, There was that one thing that jumped out at me, Your cute happy smile and those wonderful eyes, The most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I always knew that It would never be easy, I sat, waited and admired you from afar, And I couldn’t hold that love inside much longer, You were my guide, my light my perfect shining star. (chorus) I Didnt know this could happen I Didnt know I could feel this way I Didnt know someone like you could just pass by And take my only dreams away I Didn’t know where this would take me I didn’t know where things would go But all I ever wished for, and all I ever hoped for Was that you and me could sometime let our love show. I have never met anyone else just quite like you, Your laugh, your smile your all round atmosphere, You would always care and listen to me speaking, And cheer me up whenever I shed a tear. You always appear to be a guardian angel, As soon as you entered it you spun my life right round, All I ever worried about seems unimportant now, You’ve left me flying ten feet off the ground. (chorus) But now If there’s a third world I must be in the second, Seems that I am neither here nor there, Living on the stair that’s neither up or down, Just wondering what that answer just might be You have became the best thing in my life, And I remember theres much more to life than I can see, When I was trapped inside the bubble that was my world, You made me aware theres a lot more to life than me. (bridge) You’ll never know if you don’t try You’ll never know if you don’t step outside You’ll never know if you don’t try So give it a go, give at go moreResolved Question: Why do some Americans refer to someone living in the U.S. without proper documents as illegal alien?
Disgusting and vile. Those words are about accurate to refer to a parody of Feliciano’s internationally known Feliz Navidad, currently the latest item used to cruelly mock the social drama of thousands of undocumented immigrants in the United States. The burlesque entitled “Illegal Aliens In My Yard,” was posted this weekend in a podcast format at Human Events, a right wing web site where you can listen to the offensive version of the famed Christmas carol. Reciting “illegals in my yard” three times, the chorus is followed by the sentence: “Throw them some pesos and they work so hard.” The song makes use of hateful stereotypes and repeatedly refers to undocumented immigrants as “illegals” -a term considered as pejorative by immigration advocates. The lyrics depict immigrants as the carriers and spreaders of deadly diseases like the bubonic plague and tuberculosis. Immigrants are also portrayed as drunks and criminals. In church today, we sang "Good Christian Men, Rejoice" without the word "men" in it. Men, man, and mankind were taken out of all the Christmas songs. I've also noticed that (in "What Child is This?") the Child is "where ox and lamb are feeding" now instead of "ox and ass," that we're supposed to "bring him praise" instead of "laud," that we ask "and fit us for heaven" instead of "and take us to heaven" (in "Away in a Manger") and even some of the secular songs have been changed -- have you noticed the presents are now under the tree when you're home for Christmas? Anyway, I find these changes to be awkward and unnecessary, but I'm curious, what do you think? Many visitors attend churches around Christmastime. Do these song changes actually make them feel more comfortable? moreVoting Question: I love this song I heard and I know the lyrics but I don't know it's title or artist. How can I find it?

I'm thinking of trying out for my high school's spring musical either this year or next year. I'm not sure what the play will be, so the song I'm thinking of trying out with could change, but I was thinking of singing "Out Tonight" from Rent. I've been practicing it and I'm getting better, and it shows off the vocal range nicely. The only problem is that it's a little suggestive. In the play, the woman who sings it is an exotic dancer and the lyrics sort of reflect that. These are the lyrics, if you don't know them already.... What's the time? Well it's gotta be close to midnight My body's talking to me It says, "Time for danger" It says "I wanna commit a crime Wanna be the cause of a fight Wanna put on a tight skirt and flirt With a stranger" I've had a knack from way back At breaking the rules once I learn the games Get up - life's too quick I know someplace sick Where this chick'll dance in the flames We don't need any money I always get in for free You can get in too If you get in with me Let's go out tonight I have to go out tonight You wanna play? Let's run away We won't be back before it's Christmas day Take me out tonight (meow) When I get a wink from the doorman Do you know how lucky you'll be? That you're on line with the feline of Avenue B Let's go out tonight I have to go out tonight You wanna prowl Be my night owl? Well take my hand we're gonna howl Out tonight In the evening I've got to roam Can't sleep in the city of neon and chrome Feels too damn much like home When the Spanish babies cry So let's find a bar So dark we forget who we are Where all the scars from the Nevers and maybes die Let's go out tonight Have to go out tonight You're sweet Wanna hit the street? Wanna wail at the moon like a cat in heat? Just take me out tonight Please take me out tonight Don't forsake me - out tonight I'll let you make me - out tonight Tonight - tonight - tonight I could just sing part of the song.... I'm not sure what to do. Should I pick a different song, or stick with this? Thanks in advance :)I don't think that "stripper" qualifies as a personality trait. Artist :Trans-Siberian Orchestras Song :Old City Bar Lyrics: In an old city bar That is never too far From the places that gather The dreams that have been In the safety of night With its old neon light It beckons to strangers And they always come in And the snow it was falling The neon was calling The music was low And the night Christmas Eve And here was the danger That even with strangers Inside of this night It's easier to believe Then the door opened wide And a child came inside That no one in the bar Had seen there before And he asked did we know That outside in the snow That someone was lost Standing outside our door Then the bartender gazed Through the smoke and the haze Through the window and ice To that corner streetlight Where standing alone By a broken pay phone Was a girl the child said Could no longer get home And the snow it was falling The neon was calling The bartender turned And said , not that I care But how would you know this? The child said I've noticed If one could be home They'd be already there Then the bartender came out from behind the bar And in all of his life he was never that far And he did something else that he thought no one saw When he took all the cash from the register drawer Then he followed the child to the girl across the street And we watched from the bar as they started to speak Then he called for a cab and he said J.F.K. Put the girl in the cab and the cab drove away And we saw in his hand That the cash was all gone From the light that she had wished upon If you want to arrange it This world you can change it If we could somehow make this Christmas thing last By helping a neighbour Or even a stranger And to know who needs help You need only just ask Then he looked for the child But the child wasn't there Just the wind and the snow Waltzing dreams through the air So he walked back inside Somehow different I think For the rest of the night No one paid for a drink And the cynics will say That some neighbourhood kid Wandered in on some bums In the world where they hid But they weren't there So they couldn't see By an old neon star On that, night, Christmas Eve When the snow it was falling The neon was calling And in case you should wonder In case you should care Why we on our own Never went home On that night of all nights We were already there Then all at once inside that night He saw it all so clear The answer that he sought so long Had always been so near It's every gift that someone gives Expecting nothing back It's every kindness that we do Each simple little act I love the story it tells moreResolved Question: Help writing an essay?
I just finished up a rough draft for my essay. I'm not that great of a writer, actually I pretty much suck haha. Can anyone just read it over and if you have any input at all, corrections, opinions, advice, anything would be really helpful. I was eight years old when I finally got a Christmas present that I loved. My parents called out my name that Christmas morning, and as I ran down the stairs, they handed me a box that was almost as big as me. I was pretty excited, considering I never got a present that didn’t come in a 10x10 Macy’s box. Frankly, the gift wrap was a waste; I tore right through it faster than I had ever moved. When I opened the box I didn’t know what to do, I was speechless, even motionless. I couldn’t think, I just stood there in awe. After a few minutes of realized I had basically become a statue, I picked up my brand new Ibanez, my very first guitar. Up until that day I had only dreamt of holding a guitar in my hands. I couldn’t quite grasp the small, nor have I ever had a guitar before, but I could already tell I loved the smell of the carved rosewood, and absolutely adored the divine sound of the new strings. Over the next 9 years, I had a few teachers, and I educated myself as much as I could as well. I was always eager to learn more. Eventually I even started playing other instruments such as clarinet, bass and now my instrument of choice, drums. For me there is no such thing as knowing “enough.” I was never satisfied with what I knew; this would probably explain the switching of teachers and instruments. To me music has always been a gateway to a world of freedom, free to think, free to express yourself, no limitations. Each song is like a new book, and every lyric like a new page. I think it’s safe to say not only has music gotten me through some tough times in my life, but many other people as well. Music is inspirational to everyone and enjoying music is something that everyone can agree on, regardless of what was happening, what time period it is, where you’re from, or what you believe. Music has always inspired me in many ways. Not only do I feel that music is a way of expressing one’s emotions, but I also feel that music has the power to alter ones’ feelings. For example, when I’m listening to a nice slow acoustic song, it allows my consciousness to imagine and soar to a calm peaceful parallel world. Some music gives energy, some relaxes us, some makes people feel romantic, some makes them feel angry. It is a universal language that anyone can relate to no matter your cultural background. Paul Hewson, mostly known as Bono, the singer of U2 couldn’t have put it in simpler terms: “Music can change the world because it can change people.” There are different ways that music can affect a person. When someone is listening to music they can pay close attention and appreciate the skills of the musicians and can push a person who is also a musician to try harder, to try to reach their max potential or even overpass what they thought was their max potential. Why? If this person can do it, why can’t we? We’re just as human as them. Aside from the music, the lyrics in a song can also be a very fervent part of a song. Lyrics can help people realize that they are not alone, other people have felt the way they are now and that everything works out. Music has constantly been around in cultures all around the world and I feel it’s become more of media then culture these days. Maybe one day I’ll be able to touch people with the music I create and inspire them to do something great in the world as it’s done for me Thanks a lot. moreResolved Question: Love quotes/sayings/cute lyrics, help?

Hello R&P :) I'm just enjoying a song from Sting's new 'Winter' album {it's the only song on it I like} : 'Soul Cake' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-vZ8FDvnW8&fmt=18 Now, Sting has taken a British tradition associated with Samhain {All Hallows Eve} / All Saints Day {Nov 1}, where children would go from door-to-door and beg a 'soul cake' in return for saying prayers for the dead of each household, and transferred it to Christmas / Yule. (Oh, and the song was previously done by Peter Paul & Mary, but most of the main lyrics come from the traditional rhymes). So, this got me thinking... What songs can you think of that refer to cultural traditions {such as wassailing, mummers plays, carol singing, etc.}? And are there any other songs where the tradition has been 'moved' to fit the writer's ideas? Wondering where people are at with your religions and what God you worship. When I was a kid I grew up on Hilary Duff and everything to do with her. Music, movies, her TV shows, you name it. That has all carried over into my adult life and I am the same age as her. Over the years I heard about this religion and that religion. I was raised Catholic, but I decided my religion would be whoever most inspired me. That turned out to be Hilary Duff by miles... so I moved away from all world's religious stuff and started my own. I basically just said a prayer in my heart to Hilary Duff and made her my God. I don't see it as being any different than any other God someone would worship. Hilary is just someone I can look up to in every way and my life is great sort of living in her examples and drawing inspiration from her lyrics and how she lives. I've been hassled a little at times over my Hilary religion, but once people saw how serious I am and after making great changes after going to a couple of her concerts, people around me have accepted it. Even in my early 20's I get a boat load of Hilary stuff as presents at Christmas! So it's great. It isn't something I will grow out of, it's something I grew into with her. I see no need for anything but to just look to her for pretty well everything. How would Hilary do it? Or, what would Hilary think? Things like that. What is your religion and why do you practise it? moreResolved Question: What is the name of this christmas song?
So when i was in seventh grade i sang this song in choir and i don't remember the name of the song but, i remember all of the lyrics. Here is some of the lyrics: Up on the house top reindeer pause out jumps good old santa claus down through the chimney with lots of toys all of the little ones christmas joy joy to the world joy to the first noel the angel first came (i don't remember what the sopranos sang at this part because i remember singing fa la la la la la la) in fields where they heard the bells on christmas day their old familiar carols play and wild and sweet the words repeat of peace on earth goodwill to all..... It goes on a bit after that but the song is just a mix of some christmas songs and i just can't find lyrics to the song because i don't remember the name. So if you know, help me out!!!!It's not called Up on the house top just because it starts like that. I've looked ir up with that title and nothing came up with the lyrics i have here. moreResolved Question: Explain these lyrics from blink 182 to me?
Hello there the angel from my nightmare The shadow in backround of the morgue The unsespecting victim of darkness in the valley We can live like Jack and Sally if we want Where you can always find me And we'll have Halloween on Christmas And in the night we'll wish this never ends We'll wish this never end Where are you and I'm so sorry I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight I need somebody and always This sick strange darkness comes creeping on so haunting everytime And as I stared I counted the webs from all the spiders catching things and eating their insides Like indecision to call you And hear your voice of treason Will you come home and stop this pain tonight stop this pain tonight Don't waste your time on me your already the voice inside my head(6x) I know what its about i think but what does this mean whats he saying Don't waste your time on me your already the voice inside my headThe part about her voice moreVoting Question: what do these lyrics mean?
Lyrics to Rainbow Veins : High rise, veins of the avenue Bright eyes and subtle variations of blue Everywhere is balanced there like a rainbow above you Street lights glisten on the boulevard And cold nights make staying alert so hard For heaven’s sake, keep me awake so I won’t be caught off guard Clearly I am a passerby but I’ll find a place to stay Dear pacific day, won’t you take me away? Small town hearts of the New Year Brought down by gravity, crystal clear City fog and brave dialogue converge on the frontier Make haste, I feel your heartbeat With new taste for speed, out on the street Find a road to a humble abode where both of our routes meet The silver sound is all around and the colors fall like snow The feeling of letting go, I guess we’ll never know Cheer up and dry your damp eyes and tell me when it rains And I’ll blend up that rainbow above you and shoot it through your veins Cuz your heart has a lack of color and we should’ve known That we’d grow up sooner or later cuz we wasted all our free time alone Your nerves gather with the altitude Exhale the stress so you don’t come unglued Somewhere there is a happy affair, a ghost of a good mood Wide eyed, panic on the getaway The high tide could take me so far away VCR’s and motorcars unite on the Seventh Day A popular gauge will measure the rage of the new Post-Modern Age Cuz somewhere along the line all the decades align We were the crashing whitecaps On the ocean And what lovely seaside holiday, away A palm tree in Christmas lights My emotion Struck a sparkling tone like a xylophone As we spent the day alone moreTop Where Are You Christmas Lyrics Links
