Open Question: Does anyone know the Christmas song "I Got Socks"?
I'm supposed to be singing it for our dinner show for show choir and i cant find the lyrics anywhere or the song. If you know where to find it please help me. Thanks! moreResolved Question: Anyone else irritated by these '10 a minute questions'?
I don't know how many times a day people come to Y!A and ask a 'music' question that is either better answered using a search engine, or is better off not being asked at all. It's gotta be at least 200, and that's just on Christmas day! Example: What is dis song I az herd on da radio but don't know it, all I nose is dat der is some lyrics in it an a man sings about stuf may-b? If you heard a song you don't know the name of and can't remember enough of the lyrics to find it in a search engine then the song can't be that good. These questions completely plague the Other-Music section and drown out the decent music questions that have substance. I want to help people find out how to learn an instrument or get their head around the circle of fifths, not tell bored individuals the name of that crap rap song they heard a few days ago. And while I'm at it, if you want to know 'where can I get this song for free', YOU CAN'T! Get on iTunes you thieving scum. So, do those kind of questions annoy anyone else? moreResolved Question: Why should I be proud of where I come from?! (PR)?
After this I'll probably get banned since my people are so touchy.. But I don't care, I need to express this because It's just so bothersome and I need it off my chest. I am from PR and where I come from people are incredibly proud of themselves and what they call "culture". Because I was raised this way I also use to say: "I'm boricua and proud" but then I started to think about those words and go inward into myself and ask myself if these words that came out of my mouth were true or was I just saying them because is the most patriotic thing to say as a Rican. I started asking myself: "What am I suppose to be proud of as a Puerto Rican?" and I started to search for that answer in what the people surrounding me are proud of. Boxing. We have had some of the best boxers like Felix Tito Trinidad. Yeah, that's great but.. That's just violence. Why should I be proud of a guy who like a barbarian can beat another? Because he comes from the same Island as I do? I'm not proud of that. I just played along with the crowd cheering for him because everyone was cheering for him. Not proud. Music. Puerto Ricans are proud of their music such as Salsa and reggaeton. Sure the origins of these ritmos are in questions but the truth is that the ricans were the ones who placed them in the map. Salsa seems fun, I'll admit that. However I can't dance so all I can relate to it is listening to El gran combo, Victor Manuel, Hector Lavoe, Andy Montanes, Gilberto Santarosa etc. I've enjoyedthe music but the truth is that I've outgrown music. I hardly listen to anything anymore because all music seems to be talking about the same thing. Just like Reggaeton. Reggaeton the phenomenon that have even struck'd Asia. In my eyes? Is just another way to degrade women and show how foolish we are. The lyrics are the same thing over and over just with a different beat and toned differently. All they want is to mess around with women. That's all it is. Then they give them a love song just to make us think they are somewhat human.. But then after that they play a wangsta song and there goes the neighborhood. They claim they have killed, beat up people, shot people, they claim they are worse than Jack the reaper and Freddy and Jason cant compare to them.. Then when something does goes down they cry and get slapped around. What a load of BS.. How can you be rambling about been the biggest killer, been worse than a freaking slasher and have a clean record? Never been on a case? But that's all right. Im not so mad about that because they are just foolish lyrics. What I am mad about is the influence that this brings into my doorsteps. My friends and family are fallowing along . They make these "Gangster" songs and "Tiraeras" they claim they have money, cars, fame women. jeweleries and guns and connection yet they can't even keep a quarter of a gas tank in their cars. They claim they got girls yet in their shows the girls screaming and acting like fools are his own sisters and cousins. And I'm suppose to be proud of that.. Culture? What culture? My culture is dead. Puerto Ricans used to be kind well mannered people with strong family values. They care about each other and were all like brothers. I remember back i the day In town in the past if your car broke down easily 5 or 6 people would stop and hope to help you; You could even leave the car on their watch while you come back and there would be no problem. Now? Dare to leave your car "Mal parquiao" they'll dismantle it and sell the pieces in less than half an hour and forget all about you leaving your car with them. "Que carro? Yo no te conosco, arranca pa las ventas!" In PR: Halloween is no longer a get candy tradition is just a free night to cause havoc., Christmas is not about family and tradition is now just a time to get wasted We go to a beautiful beach we make a hell of a party and then leave ignoring the signs leaving the trash behind "Que la recoja otro." New year is just a night to show off your gun by shooting a few rounds into the air. Oh and a great night to get wasted too. And we are suppose to be proud. Proud of what? Of 12 year old girls already perreando in short shorts and acting like Lil'Kim while their parents are getting drunk trying to get lucky? I'll never heard the end of this one because we hate to be criticize. But I would like my people to understand that I am right and they know that I am right. Our traditions are long gone. Our egos are as big as mount Everest. Our government is a sugar coated abusive and corrupted disaster Our beaches are shown beautiful to the world but when the outsiders get here they realize the true reality that trash is the only thing they can remember when they go back to their countries. Our manners are down the draiAnd our streets regardless of having our own homes they are as bad as any caserio. I know there are those who are different and I would like to hear their opinion too. But the majority of us ricans are this way that I explain in this entry. The overwhelming majority are this way. Yo soy Puerto Riqueno y les pregunto: What is there to be proud of? Tell me my people what the heck am I suppose to be proud of because I can't see anything at all! moreVoting Question: Josh groban duet, christmas time?

I Miss You By Blink 182 (I miss you, I miss you) Hello there, the angel from my nightmare The shadow in the background of the morgue The unsuspecting victim of darkness in the valley We can live like Jack and Sally if we want Where you can always find me We'll have Halloween on Christmas And in the night we'll wish this never ends We'll wish this never ends (I miss you, I miss you) (I miss you, I miss you) Where are you and I'm so sorry I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight I need somebody and always This sick strange darkness Comes creeping on so haunting every time And as I stared I counted Webs from all the spiders Catching things and eating their insides Like indecision to call you and hear your voice of treason Will you come home and stop this pain tonight Stop this pain tonight Don't waste your time on me you're already The voice inside my head (I miss you, I miss you) Don't waste your time on me you're already The voice inside my head (I miss you, I miss you) (I miss you, I miss you) moreResolved Question: What/Who made you start listening to Hip Hop?
What/Who made you start listening to Hip Hop? What/Who made you start listening to real hip hop/more real hip hop? I started listening to Hip Hop a few years ago because of Kanye West. I started listening to more real hip hop (Kanye at least was real, hopefully won't become a sellout) because there was an article on the internet saying the Pope had put Tupac's Changes on the Vatican's Album/MySpace page (It was one of his faves, and it was the dirty version, the article came out right before Christmas 2009). I had listened to Changes before, but I didn't really get into it, so I gave it another go and listened more to what Tupac was saying in the lyrics. I was really liked the message compared to what most of the stuff I heard at school or on the radio, so I started listening to a lot of Tupac music, then Biggie, Ice Cube and Big L then I started listening to NaS and Scarface. Now I listen to a whole bunch of stuff, ranging from the late 70s to today. I'm still a rookie in the world of real Hip Hop, but I have come so far from where I was. What is your story? moreResolved Question: Owl city song with figurative language?
I have a song by owl city called rainbow veins and i am in love with it. I have heard that it has figurative language. Metaphor, allusions and such things like that. I'm kind of struggling.. so can anyone please tell me the figurative languages from the lyrics? here are the lyrics! High rise, veins of the avenue Bright eyes and subtle variations of blue Everywhere is balanced there like a rainbow above you Street lights glisten on the boulevard And cold nights make staying alert so hard For heaven's sake, keep me awake so I won't be caught off guard Clearly I am a passerby but I'll find a place to stay Dear pacific day, won't you take me away? Small town hearts of the New Year Brought down by gravity, crystal clear City fog and brave dialogue converge on the frontier Make haste, I feel your heartbeat With new taste for speed, out on the street Find a road to a humble abode where both of our routes meet The silver sound is all around and the colors fall like snow The feeling of letting go, I guess we'll never know Cheer up and dry your damp eyes and tell me when it rains And I'll blend up that rainbow above you and shoot it through your veins Cause your heart has a lack of color and we should've known That we'd grow up sooner or later cause we wasted all our free time alone Your nerves gather with the altitude Exhale the stress so you don't come unglued Somewhere there is a happy affair, a ghost of a good mood Wide eyed, panic on the getaway The high tide could take me so far away VCR's and motorcars unite on the Seventh Day A popular gauge will measure the rage of the new Post-Modern Age Cause somewhere along the line all the decades align We were the crashing whitecaps On the ocean And what lovely seaside holiday, away A palm tree in Christmas lights My emotion Struck a sparkling tone like a xylophone As we spent the day alone THANKS SO MUCH! 10 POINTS TO BEST ANSWER! PLEASE. ;D.Omg, anyone?! D: moreResolved Question: Birthday gift/6 months with boyfriend?
So our 6 month is in 8 days and his 18th birthday is at the end of the month, so I am really trying to figure something nice. I have given him sweatshirts from where i went on vaca and for valentines day..he got me a three hundred dollar necklace for my bday/christmas (same day lol) Anyways he lost a nice chain bracelet in March, so i was gonna try to replace that and then also engrave it with something (maybe on the inside so his friends didn't need to see) and am willing to spend up to $200 (with the engraving) i really like this bracelet from Tiffany, but i think it might be too stiff, and girlish even though its for men..plus its not like he is gonna get excited over tiffanys... So I thought of getting a frame and engraving it and putting a collage of photos in it? But then i was thinking a scrapbook..but that might be girly because a bunch of it will be song lyrics and my writing...as we didnt take many pics. So which would you think is better? and for the frame what should i engrave it with? the lyrics of a part of our song, just have it say i love you or me and you? ahh idk But anyways even if i get a nice frame and engrave it, i need something in addition to that, and something he is gonna like. He is going to be a senior and starts on varsity soccer, umm he took up guitar but just spent a bunch of money on that...he has a camp with fourwheelers and stuff... So, hi. I have currently 645 songs on my iPod Touch. I LOVE music and I will listen to about anything. I listen to lyrics, not the actual music. Of course the music is important too but mainly just lyrics. I like any kind of rock, country such as Taylor Swift and her only, techno, some hip hop, pop, few rap songs, sometimes R&B, lots of acoustic, and some japanese. Recommend songs even that you think I would not like because I might like it. Recommend as many songs as you can please. Here are a few of my favorite bands and songs: Owl City (I like a few of them but my favorites are the not so popular ones.) Phenomenon - Thousand Foot Krutch Tokyo - Charmaine Everything You Want - Vertical Horizon Leave Out All The Rest - Linkin Park (I like lots of their songs.) Plumb (I like a lot of their songs.) Can't Catch Tomorrow - Lostprophets (I like 'Standing on the Rooftops' too.) I'm trying to remember rap lyrics that Master shake rapped about during the A PE Christmas episode. It was the one where meatwad and shake went to the recording studio. Shake dressed up as flavor flav. Shake was poopin out these eels. And the episode ends with shake dying of this eel diarrhea. Help me complete these rap lyrics from the episode: Happy birthday Jesus, You the one, (something something) from planet krypton, Rolling tracks and gettin it on (I forget a big chunk) you ghost riding the wipe sucking on my *dink dong* Can someone help me fill in the gaps? moreResolved Question: Help me find this Christmas Song?
Ok, there was a song I saw a while back. I saw it on youtube. A kid was singing it. I don't remember any lyrics but it was like a letter to Santa about he wanting someone to come home. I think it was maybe his brother. The kid said that he went away (maybe soldier?) and the kid wanted him to come home for Christmas but his mom said something about him not being able to come home anymore and that the kid was to young to understand. In the lyrics it also said something about mom and dad were crying for a long time and he just wanted Santa to bring his brother home. In the video, it wasn't like a music video or anything. The person said in the description box something about them finding the song and decided to put it on youtube. All they did was film the player. I don't know what it is called, but it is the kind where you have to place the needle on the cd. moreResolved Question: Are you gay by these?

Well.. This is the only song I wrote that's not Screamo/Metal-ish... I don't know, I wrote it about 5 months ago after I got in a relationship. Opinions please? I'm in a band, and already recorded it. It sounds pretty good to me, but based on the Lyrics..? à mon amour lyrics (chorus) And even if they criticize us baby, it really wouldn’t matter to me, you are the most beautiful thing, that’s ever happened to me. [verse 1] just when the snow starts to fall in your town, That's when my plane will be coming around. this is where you will be waiting, To sweep me off the ground. (chorus) And even if they criticize us baby, it wouldn’t matter to me. you are the most beautiful thing, that’s ever happened to me. [verse 2] Our first kiss, I will never forget it the October taste upon your lips. The Christmas lights will be everywhere. Ill keep your lips warm from winter air. [bridge] The broken say “you cant be in love already” But, I think love is blind, you gotta try wholeheartedly. (chorus) And even if they criticize us baby, it wouldn’t matter to me. you are the most beautiful thing, that’s ever happened to me. Then why does it seem taboo to hear the word "Jesus" or even "God" in TV commercials and on TV shows and in the general culture of America? I just saw a commercial for Lincoln (cars) and they were playing a song where the original lyrics are "and may God's love be with you", but they cut out the "God" and replaced it with "our". Not to mention the avoidance of saying Christmas at Christmastime. How do conservative Christian Americans who incessantly claim that America is a Christian nation account for this in the culture? moreResolved Question: What do you think of Michael Buble's music?
If you can call it "music"? I was dating this girl for three months. She was constantly criticizing me. This is wrong. That's wrong. Change this. Change that. Finally, I just had it. That's it. Can't take it anymore. I tried to change a few things. So I just said "you know, I can change one or two things. But if you are going to have these lists of things I've gotta change for you, it's not gonna happen." So she got angry. Really PO'd. She hit me in the back of the head with her ring finger. Then we are walking around the mall and she accused me of checking out a girl. I didn't even look at her. Michael Buble's song is on the speakers in the mall. She starts singing along to the lyrics. "I just haven't met you yet. Love, Love, Love, Love." What a lame song. I suppose one of the key reasons I hate it is because of the bad memories it conjures up. The music in that song sounds about as original as a commercial jingle. Its like bits and pieces of other songs mixed up into his hit. Does it sound like Buble is ripping off the Beatles when he sings "love, love, love"? It sounds like the Beatles "All You Need Is Love." Does he remind you of a modern day version of Cliff Richard? Franky Valle? Bobby Sherman? Or possibly Donnie Osmond? Several women that I know like Michael Buble. I can understand the like part. Maybe because I am a guy, and there is no sexual chemistry between me and Mr. Buble, that I can see right through his charade. That song "I Just Haven't Met You Yet" is just loaded with cliches. "All's Fair in Love and War." Wow, I was wondering who wrote that. I could have sworn I used to here that saying as a kid, before Michael Buble was born, but if he wrote it, I must have been mistaken. All the time I was dating this girl, she kept talking about Michael Buble and how great his music was. She had some CDs in her car that were given to her by her exBF. I played a few of the CDs and she said "I'm really not in the mood for that right now." Then finally we had a big fight, walking around the mall on our last day together, and she is singing along to "I Just Haven't Met You Yet." She's singing the lyrics and it sounds like she is whining as usual. We broke up after that. I have since moved on to another girlfriend. I heard from a friend of mine who uses the same on line dating service where we met. He told me her account is still active. Just hasn't met Him yet. Probably looking for the perfect man. I swear this woman would find fault with Jesus. I could be mad that she was just using me for three months and then pulled out her ace in the hole to dump me after the holidays. I made a good impression for her family and all the Christmas and holiday stuff. She had several birthday parties for family and I made a good impression with her family. Plus I helped to drive her around and get gifts and wrap and stuff like that. She really prefers bad boy types and she meets most of her boy friends in bars. I have tried to listen to Buble's stuff now that I am done with my exGF. I still can't stand his music. Last night I was at a church coffeehouse night and some guy played two Buble songs on the piano, including this one. I had to leave the room. Not Buble, no. All I can think of is a picture in my mind of my exGF wagging her finger in my face, singing along to those lame lyrics. Plus, I am a big Beatles fan and at the end of this song Buble ripps off the Beatles. If that is as good as it gets for Buble, ripping off the Beatles, I am done with him. What about you? From when I was a little child, I was scared of those things. I mean, Satan, Hell, Devils etc. Now I'm 16 almost 17 and this fear is getting stronger and stronger. I can't spend much time alone, for fear. I even can't stay more than 3 minutes in the bathroom. So, here's more... My official religion (in papers, acts etc.) is Christian Orthodox, but I am not religious anymore. I've been for a lot, but, since the age of 13, it began to shake. Of course, I couldn't feel it in that time, but until now it's gone. For almost one years, my impression about God turned into a correct one (I think). I don't see God anymore like an old man living on a cloud who watch and punish us every day? Now I consider God to be everywhere, in everything, in every place, in every person, in every thing etc. I don't see God as a specific person. The thing is, I know Satan and all of those creatures with horns don't exist, but is just a fear. I know there is no Hell inside Earth, or a place you go after you die. I know that, but I'm still scared, I don't even know where it comes from. I also passed through a difficult period. 4 months ago I wanted to kill myself because school bullies. Now it's not like that anymore, I've been saved. You know, it can't rain all the time. There should be a sunshine, sometimes! I like rock and roll music a lot, I can say it saved me many times. There is also an important thing. I read a lot of things and saw a few movies about the satanism in rock music. I can say I don't believe it. If we put it this way, every big celebrity is satanic. Even politicians, and 666 is everywhere, which means... this is so immature, it can't be like that. Stairway to Heaven is also known as one of the beautiful rock and roll songs, and also one of the most controversional ones. I listened to it many times, and it was okay. After I heard the rumors of satanic messages played backwards, I began to get scared. Not because the message itself, because the voice and how it sounded backwards. Childish, I know. One more thing is that I saw a video a few weeks ago with some scary images through the song. Is more gibberish, but the "backwards lyrics" and images really created a scary atmosphere for me. Now I am scared about Satan and those things and I know they are not true. I don't really know how that comes. Scared from something I know it isn't true... What should I do to get out of this fear. And please, don't tell me things like "Go to the Church and pray" or "Get back to the Christianity". In acts, i am a Christian, but my beliefs are not really like that. Of course, I celebrate Christmas, Easter etc. with my family, but I don't do all of those rituals at Church, so please, give a good answers! Thanks for reading (if you read)!Oh yeah, and one more thing about the Stairway to Heaven thing. People say it's a satanic message when playing forwards saying: "There's still time to change the road you're one.". I heard that many ignorant people might say it will turn you off from following the path of God, but in fact, this thing really helped me a lot. I really wanted to kill myself one day, I was so sure of that and I tought I was going somewhere else than school that day, without anybody to know and kill myself, without knowing how. I just listened to this song, because I listen to a lot of music every day. I search help in music when I feel down, and when those lyrics came out "there's still time to change the roads you're one", I knew what I was doing was wrong and I tried all my best to stop this. In fact, the song helped me, and I didn't knew that. You know, the roads that you follow in your life, are not only between God and Devil. This song almost stopped me from death. My parents told me many times my fears are childish. And no, they are not religious. I mean, they believe the same way as me, that God is everywhere in the Universe. We don't really go to Church and light candels, haha :) moreResolved Question: What do you think of this story?
Savannah and her friends emerged to the Glendale Mall examining mannequins in the display windows. Carter and the other boys had wondered off to wherever they went to. It was just Savannah and the girls. Savannah had discussed song ideas to Palma on the way to the mall. Palma suggested that they should sing some of Savannah's personal songs, but Savannah politely refused. She was too awkward to belt out the lyrics from her sappy love songs. After a few begs and pleads from Palma, she finally gave in. "Okay, maybe." Savannah said noncommittally. "I'm not making any promises." "That's good enough." responded Palma. A few teenagers from Savannah's school stopped to stare at Savannah and Palma as if they were celebrities. Holly, Elisha, and Reese just simply ignored the girls as they walked into Wet Seal. Savannah didn't know how they did it. Why was it that her and Palma were the only girls who got excited when people noticed them? Were they so unaccustomed to popularity that they had to smile every time someone looked up to them. Savannah remembered that Ghazal girl she had met at the football game the other night. She was so nice to Savannah that she had thought it was a joke. As if Ghazal was just pulling her leg. But it was real. Savannah was like an idol to her. She was flattered by Ghazal's fascination with her. In the store, dresses and thin shirts displayed on the clearance rack while the new and fresh winter clothes displayed at the front of the store. Immediately, an Irish-green, cable-knit sweater with navy pinstriped sleeves and collar caught her attention. It was absolutely beautiful. Walking up to it, she traced her fingers on the soft fabric. Suddenly her eyes grew wide with disappointment. Forty Dollars. She only had twenty-five dollars in her pocket and a few change. "Great." she grumbled. Walking around the store, she found more tops that were in her price range. But she only had enough money for one or two tops. She finally settled on a black, purple, and navy sweater-vest and two pairs of fleecy underwear. Reese walked up to her with piles of clothes in her hand. Her hair was disheveled from when she had jogged that morning and her caramel eyes were flashing with delight. "Hey!" she trilled, putting her clothes next to Savannah. "Is that all you're buying?" "I don't have enough money." Reese scoffed, walking back to the place where Savannah had idolized the green top. She simply plucked the top off of its rack and brought it back to her. Savannah just shook her head. She didn't want her friends to buy this stuff for her. Who did they think they were? Bill Gates? Just buying each other all kinds of gifts like Santa Clause passing out candy canes? It was insane. It was unconventional. It was high school teenagers who were privileged in small town Indiana. It was December 1 with Christmas just around the corner. Savannah guessed she could consider Reese's token as an early Christmas gift. When the lady handed the bag back to her, she gave Savannah a knowing smile. She probably wished she had a friend to buy her things whenever she felt like it. Outside of the mall, Holly and Elisha were both chattering away on their phones. Deciding to check her Facebook, Savannah snatched her cellphone from her bag. She flipped through her Favorites before clicking on the Facebook logo. At the speed of light, the website popped up with her email and password saved into the site's login. Usually, there were about a dozen of new messages from her usual friends, but there were only a couple of them. Then suddenly, her eyes traveled towards a topic that made her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. On Andy's wall, it featuring him and Heather Gleason talking. Heather had posted an early message from Andy on his wall. Heather Gleason: Competition: Mud Wrestling Holly Vrs. Lettie Place: Andy's basement Time: 5:45 August 14 Andy Simms: haha good times Savannah laughed. It was probably just a humorous inside joke. But just to be on the safe side she asked Holly about it. Holly laughed so loud that people stopped to see where the noise was coming from. "Oh, yeah!" Elisha grinned. "I remember that day. The whole floor was messy." Savannah gawked at them. What they were telling her was bizarre. Holly and Lettie actually did things like that? Savannah wondered what other weird and perverse things her friends did. She shook her head, chuckling to herself. By four o'clock, they were at Holly's house. Savannah stood on the platform in Holly's basement with microphone gripped to her hand. She and Palma needed to practice for singing competition the school was having in a couple of weeks. The first song they were singing was "Just Be Good To Me" by SOS Band. "Friends...!" belted Savannah as the instrumental version song moreResolved Question: Does anyone know what Christmas Carol song this is?
Here are what I think may be the lyrics. I heard this in a play in my old school before, but I never knew what the song was called. And if you know where I can find the audio of it that would be great! This song is sung by Fanny and later on Scrooge. Listen my brother to my Christmas fairytale.... (I forgot what was next and then) Let me tell you a story, of holiday cheer, keeping you ever so near.. Come sit by the fire, while I hold you tight..keeping you warm on this cold winter night.. Brother oh brother, how I love you so! Let's share one last Christmas...before I go... Scrooge Won't you tell me a story, of holiday cheer? Keeping me ever so near.. Fanny: Come sit by the fire, while I hold you tight.. keeping you warm on this cold winter night.. Scrooge: sister, oh sister, how I (it's either miss of love) you so.. about 6-7 years ago I stumbled across some songs by a college DJ with a show called Maxwell's House. His songs were parodies of popular rap songs that used the original music with humorous new lyrics. Two examples that I remember are: Wobbly Shopping Cart - to the music of DHT - Listen To Your Heart Halitosis - to the music of Ying Yang Twins - Whisper Song There was also one about Christmas lights being up too long as well as one about Hurricane Katrina. Roughly 8 songs in total could be found on Maxwell's site for free download. These songs were catchy and hilarious and I had them downloaded and burned to cd's, but alas, I've lost both :/ Any information you can provide would be greatly welcomed, even just a note if you know what the heck I'm talking about, lol. I met this guy in September in my algebra class and he started talking to me. He started to give me hugs everyday. Also, at my friends sweet 16, he slow danced with me to "Why Don't Kiss Her" by Jesse McCartney then texted me after he left saying "You looked gorgeous tonight btw" but then I sent him a forward saying "see what everyone wants from you for Christmas" and he replied 1:bffs, 3:friendship, & 8:hug. Okay... I recently for Christmas got a new iPod touch 3rd gen 8GB and I love it. But a few weeks ago, I had a dream about it where like there was just something demonic on it.. So I removed a few things I put on there off, and I didn't have the dream again. But last night, I had a dream, but it wasn't really about the iPod being "demonic"... it was something about the music I listen too. Only artists I have on my iPod are: Michael Jackson (117 songs) Supremes (11 songs) Janet Jackson (9 songs) Marvin Gaye (1 song) Earth Wind & Fire (3 songs) Al' Green (1 song) The Spinners (1 song) La Toya Jackson (1 song) Three Degree's (1 song) Jackson Five (23 songs) That's all. So in the beginning of the dream, I'm in my bed and I hear my mother in her room talking to my dad about this terrifying dream she had. All I could hear was her mumble though, I couldn't understand what she was saying. In the middle of her talking, my dad shouts, "REVERSED MOONWALK?!" (my dad is very serious about dreams, he believes God gives you dreams of vision to show you things to come. And he does not like it when it's a bad dream especially when you've had the same topic over once, which supposedly my mom was having.) he shouted it as if it was terrifying. So immidietly, when I heard "reversed" it reminded me of Illuminati... And "moonwalk" reminded me of course of Michael Jackson. And then my iPod, reminded me of the music I listen to. Put it all together, Michael Jackson Illuminati music is on my iPod? Maybe Michael was part of it? Or against it? idk. :| I don't want all of a sudden to realize he was apart of Illuminati... cause of stupid dreams... (reverse them..) So like in the rest of the dream, I was in my room, and using my IPOD to fight against demons in my house... Later, my brother comes in the room and says "is there something evil in this house?" I replied "yes, we're fighting it right now." he replied "If the iPod thing doesn't work, theres a classic solution that always works." (for some reason when he said that, I was thinking of the movie "The Exorcist" and how they used preachers to bind the demons out.) I replied "What is it?" when he said "You get a monkey, slap it, then it slaps you, and you slap it." I replied "Okay, I'll do that if this doesn't work." Right after that, the dream like stopped, and I had this vision of outside my window, a big nasty thunder cloud, it thundered and shot a bolt of lightning. (this might of been because it was actually raining in real life while I was dreaming.) Then I woke up. PLEASE EXPLAIN.. I'm so confused. :E PS. Owl City - Rainbow Veins High rise, veins of the avenue Bright eyes and subtle variations of blue Everywhere is balanced there like a rainbow above you Street lights glisten on the boulevard And cold nights make staying alert so hard For heaven's sake, keep me awake so I won't be caught off guard Clearly I am a passerby but I'll find a place to stay Dear pacific day, won't you take me away? Small town hearts of the New Year Brought down by gravity, crystal clear City fog and brave dialogue converge on the frontier Make haste, I feel your heartbeat With new taste for speed, out on the street Find a road to a humble abode where both of our routes meet The silver sound is all around and the colors fall like snow The feeling of letting go, I guess we'll never know Cheer up and dry your damp eyes and tell me when it rains And I'll blend up that rainbow above you and shoot it through your veins Cuz your heart has a lack of color and we should've known That we'd grow up sooner or later cuz we wasted all our free time alone Your nerves gather with the altitude Exhale the stress so you don't come unglued Somewhere there is a happy affair, a ghost of a good mood Wide eyed, panic on the getaway The high tide could take me so far away VCR's and motorcars unite on the Seventh Day A popular gauge will measure the rage of the new Post-Modern Age Cuz somewhere along the line all the decades align We were the crashing whitecaps On the ocean And what lovely seaside holiday, away A palm tree in Christmas lights My emotion Struck a sparkling tone like a xylophone As we spent the day alone Pretty shure they are about drugs but which drugs and which parts actually mean what? Help plz!!!! I heard this song on the radio and don't know the title of the song. This song is sung by a male singer. It is kind of a faster dance/pop genre. I only know a few of the lyrics and they go something like "It was 1937 in Delaware at a Christmas Eve party..."? Not sure if that is right tho. :/ The song tells a story of a man dancing with a girl at a Christmas Eve party in 1937 in Delaware. He never asked her her name. She was wearing a red dress i think is what the song mentioned. The man never saw her after that party. The man went to a restaurant years later and a waitress asked him what his favorite Christmas memory was and he said "It was 1937 in Delaware at a Christmas Eve party where i asked this girl in a red dress to dance but i never caught her name" haha i think that is what it says. The man also tells his children of the girl that he danced with that he never caught the name of. Then when the man was lying in this hospital bed. A little old nurse was holding his hand and the man asked the woman what her favorite Christmas memory was with tears in his eyes and she said "It was 1937 in Delaware at a Christmas Eve party where a man asked me to dance but I never caught his name" If you know this song plz tell me the title and artist!!! It will help alot!! Thank u soo much!! :) moreResolved Question: Do lyrics have to make sense in every line I write?
Hello, I am an amateur songwriter for almost 3 years and nowadays I feel like I am getting closer to writing better lyrics and melodies. But as I make up better melodies, I feel like I need to concentrate also more on the meaning of lyrics and the connection of each line with the consecutive one. On the other hand, I also feel now that art and logic could be contrary terms in that any artwork doesn't need to embrace logic at all and still could be a masterpiece. So in other words, I mean that even though my lyrics would be consisting of two lines like: "-I need you, I don't care" (where the lines don't seem to have a common point here) I can still make maybe a classic song with a classic melody out of it. For instance below is a lyrics example by the group "The Hives" which in my opinion is comprised of some lines that are left open and don't seem to have much of a sense and which at the same time I can hardly classify the lyrics whether it is okay to write this way or not as I am still torn between necessity of logic or the letting the possibility of some irrationality a go. "Hate To Say I Told You So" Do what I want cause I can and if I don't because I wanna be ignored by the stiff and the bored because I'm gonna. Spit and retrieve cause I give and receive because I wanna gonna get through your head what the mystery man said because I'm gonna. Hate to say I told you so. I do believe I told you so. Now it's all out and you knew cause I wanted to. Turn my back on the rot that's been planning the plot - because I'm gonna. No need for me to wait - because I wanna. No need two, three and too late - because I'm gonna. Hate to say I told you so. I do believe I told you so. Do what I please gonna spread the disease because I wanna gonna call all the shots for the "No"s and the "Not"s because I wanna. Ask me once I'll answer twice cause what I know I'll tell because I wanna. Sound device and lots of ice I'll spell my name out loud because I wanna, oh yeah? FOR INSTANCE HERE: Do what I want cause I can and if I don't because I wanna be ignored by the stiff and the bored After "if I don't" there is nothing binding it with the complementary part of the "if sentence". If you don't then what?? the sentence is totally left open.. Do you think this is okay? I mean if yes, I can really relax and write whatever strikes me as long as I feel what I say. Then I am happy and go easy with songwriting :) I appreciate all your comments and thanks for that :) Happy Christmas all from Ankara capital of Turkey ;) moreResolved Question: Can you name a Song that mentions the Word"Love" in the Lyrics, but not the Song Title?

Fionn Regan - the Underwood Typewriter 53. Morrissey - Alsatian Cousin 52. Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit 51. Jane's Addiction - Three Days 50. Blur - Trimm Trabb 49. Franklin For Short - Like A Feather 48. David Bowie - It Ain't Easy 47. The Old 97's - Streets of Where I'm From For number 46 I went with a guy who I believe may be the best pure pop song writer of my lifetime. Perhaps in rock history. The guy just writes amazing melodies and lyrics that hook the ear. Interesting and innovative, but always relatable. Sure, him and Lennon would never be as good separately as they were together, but man can Sir Paul write a tune. Paul McCartney - Too Many People http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0P_HKQGq730 So what did you think of the choice? Who is your favorite Beatle? What's the best song for any (or all if you feel so inclined) of them post the Beatles? Thanks a lot everybody, as always. I really hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday. Be careful on the roads and have a lot of fun.Hi Wire, Happy Holidays man. I'm glad you liked the song. I really like Ram (the record this song comes from) a lot. The self titled is very good too. Anyways. Thanks man. I'll have a listen to the Generationals track. I haven't heard of them before now. Thanks for the tip. Have a good one man. Hi Jimmy. You don't like that? (insert smile face) I don't know. It hits me nice, although I can see how it could be a bit obnoxious as well. "Piece of cake!" I like Band on the Run a lot. I have a buddy who can't stand that song for some reason, I don't get it. Great song. Happy Holidays Jimmy! Hey Deathcube. Thanks a lot man. Glad you like the choice. Happy holidays man.Merry Christmas TL. Thanks a lot man. I'm glad you dug the tune. Like I told Wire, if you're looking to get into him Ram is a very good record. God is a really good track. I dig it. Thanks a lot man. Have a great holiday. moreResolved Question: Do I have a Sixth Sense? (ESP) If so what kind? Lots of details included.?
I'm not even sure where to begin but I'll do my best to explain. I've always felt I was different; that I had something different that no one had. I have very acute senses that some people can not believe. I may wear glasses, but I think in general my eyes are very good; especially my side vision. My sense of hearing is very, very, very good. I can hear such small tiny sounds, ect. I'm very grateful and thankful everyday that I am the way I am, and that I have acute senses. I was a preemie so everyone thought I'd have some sort of detriment because of being three months early, being so small, being underdeveloped, ect. I have been called a mind reader, and a psychic as a joke many, many times. This week however when my friend said it was as if I had a sixth sense. I got to thinking and decided to ask on Yahoo Answers. I know things. I don't know how to explain it but I do. I know when people lie to me.I tell people that if you lie to me, I'll always know and find out why and I always do. I have gut feeling/notions a lot. I use the world feel often. Examples, "I feel like your upset..." "I feel like I know what's going on..." ect. I just know things in general. Sometimes I swear I have telepathy with some of my family. My sister and I are close. There have been times where one of us would be thinking of something, and the other would be thinking of the same thing, get an idea from it, ect. There was one time felt my mom was home so I went downstairs. I yelled into the kitchen for her and my sister said she wasn't home. Then she walks through the door 2 seconds later. Yesterday my mom 's legs ached, and I told her mine did too. We we're eating dinner together and she said her back hurt too. A few minutes later my back started to hurt for no reason. I hesitantly asked her where her back hurt. (I was originally going to say, "Does your lower back hurt?" but I thought that would freak her out) She said her lower back, and that's where I felt pain. I went upstairs in my room and the back pain and leg pain disappeared. When I came downstairs to see her, it happened again. A week ago I saw a friends page on deviantART gone. Completely erased. She was upset and said she was thinking things elsewhere. I felt a lump form in my throat and I visited her BFF's page and felt/knew something wasn't right. I just feel an immense wave of sorrow sweep over me, a lump form in my throat and I startedshaking; tears threatening to fall. I had "Always" by Saliva playing like a broken record in my head and I started sobbing and felt drained. It was like I felt both of their sorrow together. I had no clue what was going on; I knew absolutely nothing. Yet a wave of immense sorrow overcame me and I broke down. I felt like I knew what happened, yet I had to indication as to how. When she talked to me she said my lyrics were fairly accurate and she asked if I talked to her friend. She asked me if I talked to her BFF because I sounded like I knew what happened. I've had that happen before when I read a journal on dA. I didn't know the person. I've never been in their situation, yet I started sobbing the same way I did there. I've had future dreams. I'm not talking about deja vu's. (I get those often btw) This is completely different. I don't like when bugs or spiders get into my room. I've had two dreams with a spider in my room. I'd wake up shaking and search my room to see if the spider was there. The following night a spider was truly there. I had a dream about my crush getting a girlfriend. The next day he shows me a Christmas card of them kissing and says they're a couple. I have sosososoo many more things I could say but I don't want to bore you. XD Here's some of my traits that could possibly deal with ESP. I'm passionate about what I do, and I'm a perfectionist. I care about the well being of others and often worry myself sick over others. I put friends and family before myself. I'm very, very emotional and cry very easily. I'm weak and meek and I can't stick up for myself. I sometimes believe the weather has an effect on my mood. I'm very negative about my appearance and I think I'm ugly personally. The little things in life mean the world to me and when people do acts of kindness I go out of my way to thank them. Little kids warm up so quickly to me. People come to me for advice to rant and vent. I like to listen to others and try to help them. I pray for people a lot. I have an awesome memory. Idk, those are the only things I can think of that might have to do with ESP. XP So do you think I have a Sixth Sense? And if so what kind(s) do I have? Thank you so much for your help! I really appreciate it more than works can say! ♥ Thank you and God Bless! ♥Oh, I forgot to mention. I get headaches a lot on the weekends. Hardly ever during the weekdays 'cause I'm at school. I also hate big crowds, and lots of people in one area. moreResolved Question: "What Christmas Should Be" Sign Language?
Ok! I want to learn how to do sign language to the song What Christmas Should Be by Hillary Duff... like where can I find a sort of... lyric sheet telling me the hand motions and such are.... watching a video on youtube would be kinda hard for me... can anybody help?? Please and Thank you =^.^= moreVoting Question: I am looking for lyrics for a Christmas song?
I am looking for the Lyrics to Under the Stars, a Christmas carol that is not very well known. I asked this question before and got something really close, but not the arrangement I want, I guess. I know the first verse and the end of the third verse, but not the second or the beginning of the third. Here is what I know: Under the stars, one Holy Night Jesus a babe was born Over his head a star shone bright Glowing until the morn Wisemen and shepherds came that way Seeking the Baby, where he lay Sleeping upon a bed of hay Under the Stars one night what I know of the third verse picks up at the fourth line and finishes like this: O little baby come once more Come as you came in days of yore So we can worship and adore Under the stars, tonight! I will be eternally grateful if anyone can supply me with this. We sang it when I was in second or third grade in a Christmas program, and my teacher gave me a copy of the sheet music, which I was teaching my children, then the book it was slipped into was stolen, and I now would give anything to get another copy. The Kiddies .com site has another arrangement, but the words are not quite right, I would like the same words I learned as a child. I know the first verse is exactly right. Both of the answers so far are not the arrangement with the exact wording I provided. I am absolutely sure of the wording of the first verse, so please only answer if you wording matches that first verse, because so far I am only being given the wrong words that I was already able to find for myself. moreResolved Question: Who sings this Christmas Disney Song that appears on some of their commercials?
Who sings this Christmas Disney Song that appears on some of their commercials? The song goes something like, "It's a little magic"... (something I can't remember lol) "wonderland"... It's a woman singing, and she also says something like, "no matter where you are" and "it's so wonderful when I'm with you" Please, I need to know who sings this song and what's the name of the song... Thanks in advance. I've searched google, but it doesn't appear. I think I'm misunderstanding some of the lyrics. moreResolved Question: R&P..........so do you like Lyrics?
Well it's 2 o clock on Sunday afternoon, And the sun is slowly fading into the night, As the wind picks up I welcome the breeze, As it over takes and cleanses me. The sand on the beach is glistening, While I see my baby neice on the swings, Just back and forth back and forth, I think 'this is where my heart lays' On top of the world I sat with cocaine, Not relised my Mother was feeling this pain, A thousand daggers I lodged into her back, Confusing her as to what she did wrong. But as of today I will only remember her, As the Mother who took me into her arms, Fended of the sun when it was getting dark, This sunburn on my neck makes me feel alive. I'm waking the neighbours cause christmas is soon, I introduce myself as the brand new me, The one that doesn't rely on the drugs, The one whose been saved by only one hug. The hug of a child who doesn't know wrong, She's just happy listen to a dinosaur song, On the coach she's sleeping with Wylde in her lap, That dog would protect here no matter the fight. My Cousin is getting married just after Christmas, She wishes that my Mother could see it, But I will be there with her in my heart, Watching as friendships all depart. Into a love so grand that it makes me believe, Life isn't as bad as I continuosly made it seem, So with a smile on my face and my niece's hand in mine, We will smile as her Mother walks down the isle. I thought Christmas time will make me depressed, But instead it's keep my heart beating in my chest.Your amazing too Michelle :) moreResolved Question: Christmas gift for really close girl?
Okay so I have liked this girl for a long time and things are finally getting going. We held hands for the first time last night. I want to do something simple and sweet for her for Christmas. Nothing big or expensive (I don't want to freak her out). She heads home tomorrow and I want to hide whatever I give her in the car so that she'll find it when she gets home. I was thinking of possibly doing something with the lyrics to a song I wrote for her (I haven't yet told her that it's for/about her). Please help. Any ideas??? I want to make this cute, but simple. (I asked this before, but my computer freaked out on me. Thanks to everyone who helps!) If I did something with the song, here are the lyrics I'd use. I wrote it for her over Thanksgiving Break: Worth The Wait Like the leaves fall to the ground I’m just stuck here waiting ‘round For someone to come and pick me up Not just anyone will do I’ve been waiting here for you To be the one who comes and picks me up It’s just a matter of time Before you open your eyes Soon enough you will realize... that you know We were meant to be together This is the start of forever and ever Let’s put our past behind us And we’ll run to where it never will find us Girl you know, it’s never too late It was worth the wait You came ‘round and picked me up Thawed my heart out with your love Winter’s cold breath slowly letting go Hand in hand and heart to heart Without you I fell apart Now you’re here I’m never letting go It’s just a matter of time Before you open your eyes Soon enough you will realize... that you know We were meant to be together This is the start of forever and ever Let’s put our past behind us And we’ll run to where it never will find us Girl you know, it’s never too late It was worth the wait Sometimes we must take a fall Before we can grow very tall And when you do, I will pick you up If you ever start to slide I will be here at your side My arms wrapped around you, hold you up It’s just a matter of time Before you open your eyes Soon enough you will realize... that you know We were meant to be together This is the start of forever and ever Let’s put our past behind us And we’ll run to where it never will find us Girl you know, it’s never too late You are worth the wait moreVoting Question: Could I potentially make a career out of this?
Hello, Im a 15 year old boy who has a huge interest in music and within music, I am a singer/pianist/songwriter. So, here's what I'd like to know if you could please spare 5 minutes of your time. The below links, are youtube videos of me performing two songs. Run by snow patrol, which I performed and recorded following two practices in a recording studio. The second, being my performance of When a Child Is Born at my christmas concert, just the third time I had played and sang this piece together. It would be hugely appreciated if you could give me feedback, either positive or negative on the playing of the piano and of my voice. I admit I dont believe I am anywhere near amazing, but wish to make some form of career out of this if possible. Thank you for that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lYgjr6Y6zo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZDpHXKD-AY & I also have written a song, the lyrics shown below. Your comments on them would be great as well, thankyou very much. Let it Show Written and Composed by Ben Wardropper From the moment that I first set my eyes on you, There was that one thing that jumped out at me, Your cute happy smile and those wonderful eyes, The most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I always knew that It would never be easy, I sat, waited and admired you from afar, And I couldn’t hold that love inside much longer, You were my guide, my light my perfect shining star. (chorus) I Didnt know this could happen I Didnt know I could feel this way I Didnt know someone like you could just pass by And take my only dreams away I Didn’t know where this would take me I didn’t know where things would go But all I ever wished for, and all I ever hoped for Was that you and me could sometime let our love show. I have never met anyone else just quite like you, Your laugh, your smile your all round atmosphere, You would always care and listen to me speaking, And cheer me up whenever I shed a tear. You always appear to be a guardian angel, As soon as you entered it you spun my life right round, All I ever worried about seems unimportant now, You’ve left me flying ten feet off the ground. (chorus) But now If there’s a third world I must be in the second, Seems that I am neither here nor there, Living on the stair that’s neither up or down, Just wondering what that answer just might be You have became the best thing in my life, And I remember theres much more to life than I can see, When I was trapped inside the bubble that was my world, You made me aware theres a lot more to life than me. (bridge) You’ll never know if you don’t try You’ll never know if you don’t step outside You’ll never know if you don’t try So give it a go, give at go moreResolved Question: Why do some Americans refer to someone living in the U.S. without proper documents as illegal alien?
Disgusting and vile. Those words are about accurate to refer to a parody of Feliciano’s internationally known Feliz Navidad, currently the latest item used to cruelly mock the social drama of thousands of undocumented immigrants in the United States. The burlesque entitled “Illegal Aliens In My Yard,” was posted this weekend in a podcast format at Human Events, a right wing web site where you can listen to the offensive version of the famed Christmas carol. Reciting “illegals in my yard” three times, the chorus is followed by the sentence: “Throw them some pesos and they work so hard.” The song makes use of hateful stereotypes and repeatedly refers to undocumented immigrants as “illegals” -a term considered as pejorative by immigration advocates. The lyrics depict immigrants as the carriers and spreaders of deadly diseases like the bubonic plague and tuberculosis. Immigrants are also portrayed as drunks and criminals. In church today, we sang "Good Christian Men, Rejoice" without the word "men" in it. Men, man, and mankind were taken out of all the Christmas songs. I've also noticed that (in "What Child is This?") the Child is "where ox and lamb are feeding" now instead of "ox and ass," that we're supposed to "bring him praise" instead of "laud," that we ask "and fit us for heaven" instead of "and take us to heaven" (in "Away in a Manger") and even some of the secular songs have been changed -- have you noticed the presents are now under the tree when you're home for Christmas? Anyway, I find these changes to be awkward and unnecessary, but I'm curious, what do you think? Many visitors attend churches around Christmastime. Do these song changes actually make them feel more comfortable? moreVoting Question: I love this song I heard and I know the lyrics but I don't know it's title or artist. How can I find it?

From Up on the Housetop: Ho, Ho, Ho, Who Wouldn't Go? Who wouldn't Go Where? From It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year They'll be scary ghost stories and tales of the glories of Christmases long ago Who tells ghost stories at Christmas time? From Here Comes Santa Claus: He doesn't care if you're rich or poor cause he loves you just the same. Now if that is true, how come rich kids get more presents? And maybe the craziest of all.... From Walking in A Winter Wonderland In the meadow we can build a snowman and then pretend that he is Parson Brown. Who the heck is Parson Brown? And it gets weirder.... We'll have lots of fun with Mr. Snowman until the alligators knock him down.
