Open Question: Are the Braves a legitimate World Series contender?

Tied with the Reds for the best record in the NL and 3 games above the Phillies in the NL East. Even with the Phillies getting their guys back from the DL, the Braves seem focused on claiming the NL East title as they've done so many times in the 90's. However the Phillies have been the team to beat in the NL East for the last few years having won the NL East last year by 6 games over the Marlins, and 7 over the Braves. In 2008, having won the NL East by 3 games over the Mets and 20 games over the Braves! In 2007, they squeaked the NL East by 1 game over the Mets and 5 over the Braves. And in 2006, the Mets had the title, but the Phillies were 6 games better than the Braves. My question: With the Braves back in 1st place in the NL East, they've seemed to be closely above the Phillies for much of the season, and remain 3 ahead of them still. Are the Braves a legitimate World Series contender this year, with the best home record in baseball at 49-19? With the NL winning the All-Star game for the first time in something like 13-14 years, and the NL having home field advantage in the World Series and seemingly throughout the post season, can you guys see the Braves going the distance this year? Open Question: is she really still my friend? did she copy/use me?

okay i think one of my best friends copied/used me. first i started wearing different clothes then i used to. and after a while i told her that i was kind of like an emo/scene person in the way i dressed. she then started to wear the same stuff as me cut her hair like mine too and even acted like i did and said that she was punk. then if i would ask her if she liked something and she said no and i told her that i did like it she would say "well i like it a little bit". after that she would go and tell people these phrases that i came up with and then let them think that she made it up. one day when i chewed her out over the phone she told me that she only said that she liked the things that i did because she thought that if she didnt then i would stop being her friend. which she knew was not true because i dont think that is fair to do that. then her and a girl named brooke became best friends and she hardly talks to me any more. brooke copies her and i know this cause she always copies the popular kids she basically told me herself (which is when she wore the same headbands and clothes as a popular girl named emily that was using her and when i asked why she did it she said "well emily wears them" and she wanted to be like emily). well when i discussed this stuff with my friend she said she was starting to not like brooke any way. she called brooke about three times and cussed her out then yelled at her when we were at school but then brooke spent the night at her house just about every day and they are back to being the best of friends. and lastly i had a crush on this boy and told her all about it constantly. she even said that she wouldnt date him unless i got to first. well she started dating him and told people not to tell me and then i heard about it from some of my friends (which she always tries to steal). her and my crush broke up after three weeks said she was sorry and wouldnt go out with him again. then about a week or two later she went out with him again for about a month they broke up then went out again for about a month then broke up again and went out again for a day. she always promised she wouldnt go back out with him and told me he was a player and shes going out with him again now. and she doesnt really talk to me anymore and just smiles at me in the hallway. i smile back but i just dont know why she did all that. I'm taking a break from my novel I'm writing and am thinking of writing some short stories. If I were ever to get published (which is highly unlikely for the next 10 years) I would want to know this. Do you read books full of short stories, not really short? (sort of like Stephen King's (skip this whole bracketed part if you've never read his books!) Everythings Eventual and Four Past Midnight (or whatever that one was called) maybe even some the length of Skeleton Key, Different Seasons and Full Dark, No Stars (new book out in November)) So some would only be a few pages, some maybe longer! This is the beginning of a book, or short story i'm currently working on. I'm not sure if its even any good, or which directon i need to go next. All feedback is welcome. thanks in advance. Please look over the grammatical errors as this is a very rough draft! Thanks in advance for your comments and suggestions. When I look back on it now, it seems so long ago, as if nothing ever happened. But I know it did, I just know it did, there’s no way I could make that up, no way. I was sitting outside in my wheel chair, enjoying watching the bright greens of summer trees turn to autumn brown as fall began to sit in. I used to love this time of year back when I was young, now all I do is sit here and think about the past. I’ve often wondered how I could get rid of cretin memories, and just keep what I want to remember. Boy, wouldn’t that make life a lot easier? Memories trigger thoughts, thoughts trigger patterns, and patterns trigger actions, and some o f those actions can turn into one of those memories you’d like to forget. I know a lot of my actions have turned into bad memories, but they seem to be memories that only I can remember. Although I know other people where there, hell one of them was my son, the will never admit it. That’s what landed me here, Broken Brooke Senior Home for the Sick and Elderly. Now I’m not old enough to be in one of these homes, I’m only 60 and I can get around just fine on my own, but everyone insists that I’m crazy and won’t let me do much o anything besides sit in this wheelchair. So I sit here day after day, and I think thought after thought. With each thought I remember a little bit more, like the beginning, it all seems to be coming back to me, slowly but surely. It was about 15 years ago when I stumbled onto the secret that would change my life forever, I wish I could go back and feel what I felt then, it was so exciting and new, I didn’t know what was coming next, and I liked it. It was mid summer in the year 1962; I was 45 at the time and had a wonderful wife and two great children. My job could have been better, but it paid the bills. I was always one to wonder about cretin things, like how we got here, what religion was correct, is there such things a ghosts? I’m sure all of these things are very common to wonder about, so I never felt anything was wrong with it. From the time I was a child everyone told me I over analyze things, and I should just leave the unexplainable to “faith”. Well I always hated that answer, which led me on some pretty wild goose chases, and one of those chases led me to something unbelievable. It was about 9pm and the sky was dark. With each star and a full moon lighting up the purple sky. I lived out in the country, surrounded by thick forest with beautiful trees. For the past few nights there has been a strange light shining for the woods east of my home. The light seemed fairly close, so of course I couldn’t leave it be, I had to see what it was. My son and I put on our shoes and grabbed a gun (these woods are a great place for coyotes to take refuge forms the busy interstate a few miles away) and we headed out toward the light shining bright in the night sky. more

Open Question: A need help with a title +BQ: What do you think of my story (Summary)?

I'm writing a book, but I need a title. Actually it's a threequel to two other books I've written, but I'm really bad with titles. The first book had an okay title, the second one had a gay one and I rrwllywant this one to have a good title. (btw I put them on fanfction.net so I need to think of a title now.) here's what's happened so far: The male main charactar, a 17 year old ego-maniac/actor thinks he can win over any girl. His cousin bets him he can't win over an actress from a comedy show, Sarah, but after a week, he proves that he can, except he's starting to realize that he really likes Sarah and doesn't want her to find out about the bet. The main character, Cameron, tries to stop her from disingenuous out but his cousin tells her to get revenge on Cameron for winning the bet and she breaks up with him. Cameron goes to her house and tries to get her to take him back, but in the end, she'll only go back to their previous love-hate relationship (they argued alot, but also kinda liked eachother). Cameron takes what he can get but vows not to give up. (the book is in cameron's pov) in the second book (Sarahs pov) sarah, Cameron and some of their other friends go to Florida to plan an upcoming movie they're starring in. Unfortuntly, Cam and Sarah's relationship never did go back to normal and things have been really awkward and they fight constantly. Eventually they decide to try to be friends rather then frenemies, but it all goes downhill whej Cam starts to think sarah and him might hqve a chance ans thrn she announces shes going on a date. To try and make Sarah jealous, Cameron takes a date to the same Disney works restaurant as Sarah and her date and they end up screaming at eachother. Their dates force them to work things out by making them go on "spaceship earth" so they can't escape. Cameron confesses just how much he really cares about her and kisses her in the spaceship earth planetarium. They agree to keep whqt happened a secret though. And here's the summary for the story I'm about to write: after the kiss, cam expects sarah and him to be dating in secret to avoid complications with their friends who dont aprove of them but Sarah just seems to be ignoring the fact thqt they kissed at al. She suggests they go back to normal again, but cam puts his foot down this time and tells her that they'll never go back to normal amd she can't stop denying that they have something special. Tey decided to start officially dating, but secretly which is hard because they've started filming te movie (Continued in fourth book) what do you think, give me a title please. Thanks.. more

Here is an axiom or paradigm for you: As cave men did we struggle to even contemplate our existence as we looked to the stars barely literate and utter the word Goh! Goh! which became GOD. Oh it must be GOD! Primitively evolved ego blames god and the devil and puts everything in little boxes in the mind in order to recognize and relate to them. The hunt was successful today! as a starting point for deducing and inferring other (theory dependent) truths. The key aspect of our humanity seems to be our morals and beliefs. The ability to change, adapt, and create the ability to carry out a coherent logical conclusion. This is one factor that allows us to change ourselves and adapt to a changing world. To construct and stabilize our morals we must begin with some principles held as axioms and logically derive from those axioms conclusions which become our morals. Our ability to radically change ourselves and our original axiomatic belief system accounts for the other half of our ability to change, adapt, and create. We have advanced so far in terms of knowledge, society, and technology. Yet there is still so much more to create and discover. What will propel us is ultimately our humanity. And we have seen that stability and change make us human. In this yin-yang sort of duality, these two aspects of our nature–the desire for tradition and stability and the excitement brought on by radical revolution–synergistically combine to form what we call humanity and human nature. We have discovered our secret weapon: two conflicting yet supporting principles that guide our ever-shifting path into the future. In terms of God I think it's very interesting that creationism, (a consequence of the evolving ego) has produced a mental mechanism that can often forgive us for what ever we do, and also creates a solution to what we can't explain. In my opinion we are a very counter productive and self destructive species which still struggles to break the mold of mindless facile and frivolous cultural perpetuation as a result of many given leader types or peerage consumed with avarice, falsely empowering ones self and self preservation. This behavior and moral standards learned and then perpetuated pervasively throughout any given culture. E.G. exploitation of the weak or primitively evolved ego, the sinister inciting of coups and the best products that can possibly benefit man kind are not brought to market because the don't make enough profit. Wealth is power and can influence government policy, the cultural foundations of which will typically be built upon the exploitation of others as one capitulates to avarice thoughts and feelings ultimately aspiring to self preserve and acquire power. These standards are set thus learned and perpetuated down through the hierarchical ranks of any given culture. Rotten peerage = rotten culture. No one asks to be born here and no one asks to leave. Open Question: My bf and I mutually broke up & we were in good terms then one night he goes "I hate your guts"?

so we break up monday morning and he kept hugging me and then saying I dont know if I can do this. I'm starring at him like I never hugged him yet he's rejecting me as if I want him back. He says hes so over the onling dating scene cause I had a feeling he was talking to someone.. in fact, he went to the beach where he lives and talked to one girl AND another one from online. So now, he promised me hed be online on Monday night and instead he talks to these girls. I started telling the girls how we just broke up and he was touching me and turns out all at the same time talking to them. One of the girls says he acts real weird as in he would text them saying "I cant wait to see u this weekend were gonna be on an adventure". When she tells me she never said yes to anything nor did he ask. Next, I believe hes bipolar cause it runs in his genes (his mom). Then on friday, he tells me that a girl stood him up & I get mad and he changes his password cause he knows I saw him talking to the girls. I told him to call me so I can tell him what he can do with his life & he acts real immature and goes "nah not worth my time. cant. im busy. im busy. really really busy please." really redundant which is dumb. then, I ask why hes calling me and he says "I love ya personality". then, he tells me he'll get me windows 7.. he passes out and apologizes and tells me that the sun killed all the bacteria off his back when skateboarding? Then, sunday i call him and asked him about Windows 7 and he goes that he cant help me and he says he wants to be a samurai with a sword... and at that point I think he's crazy. My friends were like hes just kidding and then in reality, he told all his roommates that he will get that sword.. and I think his best friend since he was born kicked him out of the house. Also, during the breakup he said hed take me to six flags like he promised as FRIENDS only. But now, on monday night I didnt talk to him I was out and he didnt know. He calls me at 11:45PM and goes hey how r u? Im like"alright" and hes like "you know how i say random stuff to random people" and im like yeah... and hes like "well I hate your guts" *hangs up* after all of this drama, he goes and blocks me off aim then unblocks me then deletes me so he doesnt see me on his buddylist. and 1 week later.. he deletes me off his skype lol which was next Tuesday (yesterday). I want to know what is going on? What he thinks of me? Does he care about the online and beach girls more is that why he hates me? Or is it cause I do not care about him or act that way and didnt contact him for 1 week after he said he hated me? I got angry and put a status saying "You hate me. You love me. Yet, you did wrong to me. So F you and F your drama" and he signed on right away onto AIM and skype. but I still didnt sign on that was the morning after he said I hate your guts. Is he bipolar? I don't know I'm so confused and I cant even concentrate in school cause of this problem. People tell me to forget but I cant. I just cant. IDK what to do. cause yesterday i got food near his area and I thought I should see if hes there.. I know now he was definitely kicked out of his best friends house. and he is really serious about getting the sword he even said to his friend: "dont worry i would never harm someone close to me. and that u might end up helping me one day, maybe knowingly or unknowingly" his friend goes: "if its for a good cause then ya." alright so if you would like more background information, look at my previous questions or message me =) kay so my dream is me and my old crush sitting in two lawn chairs at opposite sides of a fire. we are both blankly starring into the flames and its completely silent except for this strange acoustic song playing in the background. The song talks about everything that me and him had gone through, from how we met to little things that happen everday now.. it would start with my version of the memory or thoughts and then his side of the story.. then it gets to a part when it starts to talk about my current fling (which is actually his cousin..= /) and my side of the story is fine but then when it gets to the songs part where it tells his side, it gets really quite and i can barely hear what the song is anymore and joel (my current fling) comes in silently walks up to me reaches out his hand which i look up, grab his hand and we both walk off into the surrounding pitch black. then in my dream im left watching my old crush sit there just starring into the fire. the same way before. please help me uncover the meaning behind this !! more

The Shadow of Name over Personality I always wonder why the personality of the person is set aside and the name consider the main characteristic. To me name is nothing but only the identity. There are many people that are concerned about their names. Either their names don’t match their personality or they have odd names that don’t suit them, so they get laughed at. Some people are lucky to have names with meaning. For me, name is not an important thing to worry about in my life. Some people are too intrigued by these names. I think of my name as if it’s similar to water. It has neither taste nor color but you need it every day. I wonder sometimes why some people seem to be so fascinated by the tiniest things. I guess I am fortunate enough to have a name that has a meaning and it somewhat goes well with my personality; however, it shouldn’t be the first thing in our mind to judge a person’s traits and assume things that based on their names. In English my name means “The Moon”. There are three reasons why my name represents my character. First, I love going out at night; I feel alive at night and energetic unlike morning where I feel dead and exhausted. Night and moon do have something in common; they both appear at the same time of the day. In addition, I like staying up late doing stuff rather than going to sleep and waste the time of the night. Second, I am pretty quiet as a person like the moon; it shines at night when people are sleeping. I don’t talk much to the person I don’t really know, but I talk more when I know the person. Similarly, rose is compared to our name and the smell whether it’s good or bad is compared to our personality. Generally speaking, name doesn’t have any effects on our traits. In conclusion, our names were given to us without our consent which can lead us to two separate ways, good or bad. I am so frustrated right now! When i went for 9th grade orientation/ registration day and i got my schedule it said "algebra 1" and i knew my parents were gonna kill me when they find out i didn't get into geometry for 9th grade. Anyways in 8th grade i was in algebra 1 and i got like B's and C's in that class, for my other classes i always got either A's or B's. Ok I'm still a little upset about this. Today I'm walking the dogs and as I come down a narrow lane I see two women with dogs coming the other way. One of the dogs is a greyhound I know to be a bit aggressive so I turn around and walk up to a place where I can get right off and let them pass. So I'm really working the Border Collie (the one who was attacked and has lead aggression/fear around other dogs), I have her right out the way, sitting by my side. She has her harness on (training lead around my neck/shoulder) and the slip lead, all of which I'm holding slackly, talking to her, telling her to sit. She's doing fantastic. Then this STUPID perma tanned housewife spies my yorkie and is all "awwww how cewwooot!" and not looking at her greyhound as she starts walking towards us. This greyhound is head up, hackles up, stiff legged tail as high as it will go. So he gets to within almost sniffing distance and I have to say "Can you take you Dog away please, the Collie has lead aggression." Well ... she went "Oh." and SNEERED at me like I'd done something wrong! Meanwhile HER dog is BARKING at my collie and trying to get at her. As I try and explain she walks off in a huff!! I was so cross! I was made to feel bad when all I was doing was protecting MY dog AND HERS!! My Collie was a STAR though and although she was really tense I made myself keep her lead slack and just kept telling her to sit I was so proud of her but this woman just made me come away from that feeling bad :( Thing is I have the land that I need never walk her outside the home, she has 12 acres to run in but I really want to work on this problem and get her to relax around other dogs, so we go out for walk every day. real question: Have you ever been in this situation, trying to train and having idiots look at you as though you have a problem? Okay, I have a crush on this guy, he probably don't know because I never tell him that I like him. Then one day, we were on our way to school, we were talking about random stuffs. Then I asked him what he got on the Star Test (it's like a final from the government at the end of each year). He just told me that he didn't get all advanced and that I did, which makes him think I am a nerd. He also told me that he's sporty and sport is his thing so and academic is kinda my "thing". But at the end, he said, "You are too focused in school." I mean, don't guys like smart girls? Open Question: Motorcycle Permit Help ?

I'm a 15 and 1/2 year old resident of California with a car learner's permit and I really need some help help getting my M1/M2 motorcycle permit. I thought I had all the requirements done when I went to the DMV office last week but I misinterpreted the requirement that states "Submit proof of driver education/driver training completion if you are under age 18" (DMV site) as driver education OR driver training, not AND driver training. This was a problem because as I finally made it to the front of the line the man at the counter asked for my proof of driver training and I was forced just to leave. I've done some looking around online and found a place that does the driver's training and it says upon completion of the course I would receive form DL389, which shows I have completed driver training. Online I also read that In California the DL389 form would allow someone to not have to take the actual motorcycle driving test for when they apply for their motorcycle license, just the written test. I have the class set for two weeks from now and my DMV appointment for the week after that. So, my question is this can use the DL389 form for both the proof of driver training for my permit and use the DL389 to be exempt from the motorcycle driving test, or will the form be invalid after 6 months I have to get my license. (Note: I realize I will still have to take a written test for both the permit and license, and by the time I apply for the motorcycle license I will have gotten my Car driver's license) Although I fear my question may be too specific for anyone to know, any answers are MUCH appreciated and the best one will get a 5 star rating. Without the all stars on offense, I think he may be exposed. The Rams also based their decision based on a combine where he wasn't getting rushed at all. Their mediocre O Line may make him afraid of the pocket. Tim Tebow (1 - 25 - 25): Denver Broncos... BUST... I don't see Tebow working out as a QB. He is already injured, and seems almost TOO athletic to be used as a QB. I think he will be injured a lot before they try to have him change positions, which might or might not work. Jimmy Clauson (2 - 16 - 48): Carolina Panthers... SUCCESS... Jimmy Clauson was my #1 QB going into the 2010 draft. He didn't have that many great recievers (Golden Tate, but not much after him) but he made it work. He also had a pretty bad coaching department in terms of play calling. I think the Rams will end up kicking themselves over not picking Clausen with the #1 pick. Colt McCoy (3 - 20 - 85): Cleveland Browns... DEBATABLE... I don't see McCoy as a starting QB. I just don't. That being said, he was selected in the 3rd round. 3rd rounders aren't usually expected to become pro bowlers. Your thoughts on the recreation of man. What is afterlife? I have taken sometime to conduce and conclude the afterlife. I have come to several conclusions throughout the topics from The Formation of the Planet, The Stars, and The Phenomenons. Earth being the most complicated, even this eventually falls into place. I suppose all we are energy compiled from others smaller energies, Thoughts and conclusions from sights and hearing. We go through a process of amplification, Regulated and structured through other human-beings. Forming a person in which different aspects and perspectives are built from. We then resubmit these in portions to create new dynamics. We also create these in finer forms of purity and from different positions of the world. The question becomes are we not useful to man if the same perspective is applied to and from positions rich , poor , stressed , leisure, tough, feeble, build, height, gender, and every variation of any characteristic and composite of man. The worry becomes are positions being held through a mechanism that holds perspective while believable applying it to reality with a holding energy that does nothing more than live a basic transparent life. Formulate by a network wearing costumes holding ranges of positions that would otherwise hold meaningful and purposeful people. Maybe we have defeated ourselves as a people by creating something in our minds that overrides natural laws of nature or maybe the propriety of certain individual becomes impulsive hyenas. We are one of the few species that will adapt our standards and boundaries for one another. The issue becomes the segregation. We separate by country, state, county, town, by car, housing, gender, , color, height, features, lifestyle, when do we go too far. While these actions comprise and represent who I am they are not ecstatically bound. "If I can prevent even one girl from getting pregnant, I will feel a sense of accomplishment," she said. I like Bristol. She's had a tough time being put in the national spotlight when she was a pregnant teenager. She's tried to give her baby a true family by getting re-engaged to Levi only to find out he may be the father of his ex-girlfriend's baby and the guy is a real piece of work. I didn't agree with her when she was appearing on Talk Shows telling teens not to have sex because it wasn't practical advice. Does anyone really believe that she and Levi weren't having sex when they got back together? Now she's going to be on Dancing With the Stars and I feel like Bristol is going to send the wrong message if she's trying to be the example to other young women about the consequences of teen pregnancy. The dream was pretty intense. It started at night time, and there was chaos everywhere because apparently the sun had disappeared. So I went outside to check for myself, and they were right. What scared me was that when I looked up, the stars in the sky began falling. So instinctively I got on the ground and started saying words in another language, and it made the sun come back, only the sun was further away now, so it looked like an deep orange moon, and it remained dark out. The dream transported me to another room, a home that I didn't recognize. I was standing over a glass bowl and I was throwing up these blue glowing blobs with little snakes and people inside them. When I was done puking, I went outside the house. I was on a rocky beach and there were mountains in the horizon as well as the sea. There were two people standing on the beach, a young, handsome man, and a girl. There was also a strange staircase made of logs, building up from the shoreline. I attempted to climb it, but fell down and in my dream I passed out. The tide was coming in, and people were yelling for someone to save me. The young handsome man in my dream was my lover, though I didn't actually know him. He struggled to pull me out of the water, and I would wake in and out of consciousness to help him. Instead of getting emotional about this, I thought I should try and understand it from an intellectual perspective to see perhaps there is anything I can do to avoid situations like this. I am new in a biolgoy research laboratory of five people. And when I sit with a group of co-workers I feel like they are testing my knowledge or at least making up knowledge and spin up a whole conversation around it. And this is done frequently with my boss his post-doc, and his manager when we gather for lunch. I can't say I have a very normal personality either....I am sometimes very interested in people other times very disinterested...and I really don't put up with any professional image really well. I am very myself.... I know my preveious reference have mentioned to them that I lack a lot of common sense because I have not be in tune with what's happening out there....(a result of working many jobs and studying text books for class...and very few social life for many many years)... Despite a lot of hard work...my previous boss found himself that he had to mention my strange character and how I didn't fit into his group. I find it strange that despite that they hired me...well actually they tricked me into volunteering for a month before hiring me. So then in that month they really had time to find out who I am. I noticed a lot of passive aggressive remarks from my co-workers. The strangest part is...most of it came from this post-doc...a 36 years old male (I am 29 female) who in the first month seems to be making advances at me. He blushes often when he sees me...and at a Christmas party he asked me and the rest of the group to dance. He grabbed my arm and others to dance. But I seem to refrain myself from him. I wonder if he feels rejected and then started trying to aggrevate me by making these passive aggressive comments. And at lunch time....he joined my boss in testing me by making up informations to see how I respond. I even have problem getting proper training...the right facts and experimental protocals....which I look up on the internet. If I bring it up, it is always because they said ...oh there is a miscommunication like it is my fault. I find it strange how quickly tings change from how they value me at first and I treated like I was some sort of a star child...until they strated ganging up against me after knowing what my second reference said. Voting Question: What's the scariest experience you've ever had riding?

Has anything ever truly terrified you while you were riding? Did it almost make you quit/ make you quit? Mostly a boredom question. Mine is from when I was maybe 12-13 years old, and a walk-trot-little bit of canter but not terribly good at it yet student. A boarder asked me to hack her mare Irish, so she could see if she was ready for lessons yet. So, it was going pretty perfectly, the mare liked my hands (lots of mouthing and salivation, along with a pretty decent frame for an about to be lesson horse), and I was just doing walk-trot without my trainer in the ring with me, since I didn't want anything to be out of control or for my canter problems to get in the way of her schooling. Except then 3 or 4 girls came riding in to the indoor (which is tiny, i think 30X60 feet) and started cantering around after having warmed up outside. Now this mare (which I did not know, or I would have gotten the heck off!) had never been ridden with other horses before. She kept getting tenser and tenser, and finally took off at a gallop around the ring, building each time around. I was TERRIFIED. I did 2 emergency stops, but as soon as I let up the pressure to dismount, she took off again. By like 15 minutes into this, I was sobbing on this mare's back, just trying to stop her. The other girls had stopped in the center of the ring, but hadn't left, so she was still building. Eventually I just emergency dismounted, landed close to in front of her, and saw her hooves stop literally 2 inches from my face. If that mare hadn't stopped on a dime like that, I would probably be dead right now. Luckily, one of the girls had called my trainer, who promptly came running in, caught the mare, and got me on a dead broke little pony ride lesson horse to hack on bareback. In her words "If you don't ride through this right now, you never will." And I can believe that if I hadn't gotten back on and finished on a good note with another horse, I might have let the fear get the best of me and scare me away from horses for a long time, if not for good. But because of Star (2nd horse) and her unfailing obedience and slowness, I was back in a lesson the next day. :] Can't wait to read your stories!octobercasper- I imagine it must be very unnerving to have a horse act like that when you aren't doing anything! I've never had a horse respond like that to me and I hope that continues.. It’s more reminiscent of Vanilla Ice’s phony story about attending an all-black high school than anything else: A lie meant only for the sake of attracting more attention. As far as I can tell, this desire for attention is the only guiding force behind Lady Gaga’s antics. She wears ridiculous outfits so people will look at her; she says contradictory and inflammatory things so people will talk about her; she responds to rumors directly and repeatedly so they stay in the news; she adopts causes and movements so that people will feel loyal to her and take her seriously. And she insists that she does all these things just because that is who she is so people won’t doubt her sincerity. Lady Gaga’s fans maintain that her obsession with fame is really part of her own satire or a comment on fame itself. After all, Lady Gaga discusses fame and celebrity more often and more honestly than any other pop star—she even titled her albums, The Fame and The Fame Monster. But if she has a comment on fame, what’s the comment? That our culture is preoccupied with it? That celebrity comes from silly things? Well, obvs. The only real lesson I get from seeing Lady Gaga on TV or reading about her online is that she seems to really enjoy being famous. The only comment I see is a self-parody. From the producers, directors, and especially actors.......they all are hardcore leftist (or claim to be). I find it funny.......esp in the wake of the so called "collapse" of Wall Street, how Hollywood celebs are soooo venemous against everything wall street......and also against Big business.... Having said that isnt it funny that it turns out that actors make ALL of their money through Big Businesses. The Movie Studios (which are GIGANTIC BUSINESSES) are the ones who pay all of these stars their millions..........not to mention all of the multi-million dollar endorsements which are paid by.....*gasp*.......BIG BUSINESSES!! ON TOP OF THAT.......whenever there is a BIG business.......you need INVESTORS to keep it going.........so whenever their is a movie being made.......many rich individuals/businesses throw up MILLIONS of dollars to these studios---hoping to make a return on their investment........ The studios (big business) use the investors' money (rich ppl including wall street investors) to pay the stars thier enormous paychecks....... And these starts still go around and talk about how much they hate Republicans, Wall Street etc...........even though Republicans tend to help businesses MUCH MORE than Democrats........not to mention tax cuts.........talk about "biting the hand that feeds you".... Oh yes Tax Cuts........I love how Hollywood celebs say how unfair and horrible Bush's Tax cuts were.......when THEY WERE TAKING FULL ADVANTAGE OF THEM!! Many of them DO NOT EVEN PAY TAXES!!! Open Question: Yellow light in the sky moving south west- not an aircraft, what is it?

At 8:23 on Sunday 29th August 2010, I was walking around my Village when I saw the first star of the night, which looked like any normal bright yellow star. When I looked back I saw it was moving South West quite quickly- faster than a passenger jet when you see it in the sky. I do live near a military base but this light was making no noise and moving very quickly (To demonstrate, get your finger and put it on the edge of a landscape piece of A4 paper. Move your finger slowly across it to the other side- try to get the right speed so it takes 8 seconds- that's how fast it moved from where I was standing on the ground). Aircraft only have yellow lights for when they land, and this object was way to high to land (I would guess that judging on how big the light was, it was 40-30,000 ft high). It was suggested to me that it was a shooting star, but the moving light had no tail, so I assume it had no debris behind it. Popular stories tell of fast moving lights making no noise. One of my relatives was riding a motorcycle on a country road, when a very low light went over their head, very fast, making no noise. They are in the Air Force, and were scared since there is no such aircraft that can fly that low legally and not make any noise as well. Later, my relatives colleagues heard of the light and watched the runway from the roof of a building at the base they were staying during the night. Apparently a light moved down the runway, stopped, hovered, then moved directly up into space, again with no noise. This is similar to Gordon Coopers (U.S. Astronaut in the 70's) experience with strange objects. I do believe in Aliens, but I also think the light could easily be a satellite, or indeed some sort of Near Earth Object. I want to stress that it was exactly like a star, not disc shaped, with no tail, not getting larger or smaller. just moving South West. I watched it until it disappeared behind clouds in the distance. Can you help identify it? more

Can someone explain to me the navigational wisdom behind designating that the right side of the boat should be called the 'starboard' side? God I hope it's the right side. If I'm wrong pls correct but continue to the answer anyway. Was it because traveling away from Europe you had to look for the North Star which would have been on the right side of the boat at night? Because then what would they look for on the south side coming back? more

Voting Question: How to choose an ending on Stars Wars: The Force Unleashed?

I have Star Wars:The Force Unleashed for the Wii and from what i read you can choose different "paths" to get a different ending. When i first played the game through the game ended when Galen Marek aka Starkiller turned into the Sith Stalker thing. My question is how do i get the other ending where he dies? I don't remember choosing something or being asked to choose which side. Is there something i have to do in order for it to make that happen or does the game automatically do it for you? more

Okay so see there was this guy and he was all nerdy and geeky and ugly! (He had braces, was skinny, pale, and had a squeaky voice! LOOOL!) LOL! I remember I used to get my boyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz to beat him up every single day LOL! Once I even flushed his head in the toilet! But then he came back and now he's all HOT! And then I told him how I remembered that and then we laughed about some other times. Then all of a sudden he started playing with my hair and told me (in a really soft voice) "you were always there for me." Then I looked up and I realized that our faces were so close they were almost touching, and I could practically smell his breath (which thankfully was minty fresh! :D haha). Then he started to lean towards me but I pulled away (remember, this was before I realized I liked him!) And then he pulled back too and was quiet for a while. Then he said "promise you'll always be my best friend, just like I'm promising I'll always be yours." Then I promised, and he sighed and said in kind of a flat tone, like he was upset or something, "yup. just best friends." I opened my mouth to say something, but it was getting late and we had to get home. So, he climbed down the ladder from the roof, but (of course!) the stupid ladder had to fall down! So I asked him to put it back but then (he had almost like a sparkle in his eyes) he said "nah! just jump! I'll catch you!" of course I was like "are you INSANE?!?!" and then he's like "come on! trust me!" and something was telling me to jump so I reluctantly did (really freaked out the entire time, let me just get that out there!) and turns out he actually caught me easily! Then he said "what'd I tell ya?" Then we looked into each others' eyes and then he finally put me down and we left. That's not really that romantic right????? I only listen to rock music, mainly hard rock, heavy metal, punk rock, goth rock, and indie rock. I'm not kidding when I say music is my life. I have fair skin and long black hair with a purple streak, and I'm a tomboy- I wear lots of band tees, skinny jeans, plaid, dark colors, converse, skulls, leather, camo. I also have a pair of combat boots that I LOVE. My favorite color is purple. I'm a total musical theatre and chorus nerd. I sing and play guitar. I want to be a writer when I get older, or a rock star, bahaha. I also love to read, and I think vampires and horror movies are nifty. :3 I hang out with people from all different groups, but I usually get along better with guys. My boyfriend is a modern hippie (which is freaking AWESOME). I'm a pretty chill person, but I tend to get myself into trouble a lot. How would you stereotype me? Voting Question: I am going to have to cut my hair into a pixie cut? I need advice!?

Ok so for starters I had the summer from H*ll.....it started off with the fact that I quit/was fired from my retail job, then I ended up being committed to a hospital because I have issues from a traumatic thing that happened in my past. Then my boyfriend and his father and brother took me to their beach house (which I had been waiting for, for months) and we were rear ended so bad and I sprained my neck. And then i got bronchitis. So basically I ended up smoking pot, and I thought it would be hot if I bleached my hair porn star white. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!!!! I bought this stuff from sallys and my hair did come out white, but it is DESTROYED. I am devastated. I was high and sooo dumb. I am boycotting drugs and Sallys beauty supply for the rest of my life. So i had to cut my hair to my shoulders and the white looked bad so I dyed it black and it looks really cool but the texture is awful and if it wash it compulsively it falls out plus I only bleached it from virgin hair once so I don't know how it got so damaged? I feel like suing the company that made this stuff, I'm so mad. Anyway.....my hair has grown 1/2 an inch since, so I was thinking if I hold out till next may or so and my hair is a good 3 to 4 inched long, that I would get a PROFESSIONAL to give me a very short hair cut. I'm scared because I have never had hair that short but at the same time I am so excited to get rid of all the damage. Oh and btw the summer got better.....I got another job, and I am going to a semester of college, I also turned 21, and my drivers license picture didn't look bad at all the hair was black so you couldn't tell! But here is my question........How can I deal with the hair that I have now until come May? Because of the texture I don't want to cut it to short until there is at least new growth. Open Question: What do you think of MY "Big bang" theory?

It explains where the matter came from, how stars and black holes formed, and even how heavier elements got here. Here it is..... There was no big bang, but instead, MANY crashes as solid masses kept hitting each other. They did not have atoms, but were totally solid, with incredible gravity. When they crashed into each other, they hit with enough force to shatter, and sent parts hurling away despite the extreme gravity. After a while, so many hits and shatters broke many of them into parts so small they became the subatomic partials, they grouped together to form atoms. The atoms were free floating for a long time, till they got caught in the gravity of bigger chunks. The biggest chunks formed black holes, with gravity so intense that nothing can escape. All the pieces big enough to crash into the black hole parts, and shatter them, are to far apart to be drawn together anymore. The parts that were not so big, but still had a good amount of gravity pulled the atoms, but could not crush them, so when enough gathered, the pressure caused then to ignite, forming stars. The fission in the stars created heaver elements, which escaped in mass coronal ejections, mush like we see now. These heavier elements floated free for a time, till a few hit each other, and the gravity of those two drew in more. Not tight enough to ignite, so they formed planets, that in time drifted into the gravity of stars. This is the formation of solar systems, with no need for nothing to become something. Who do I submit this to for scientific review? Oh wait, I forgot, I'm a creationists. I don't believe in any of this stuff. but it does make as much sense as many of the other "Big bang" ideas I have heard, and even more then the scientific accepted idea because mine does not require everything from nothing. more
