I need help in the piano department please help?
Okay so I'm self teaching myself how to play the piano and I have some questions that I need help on. For firsts this guy on youtube named andrew is teaching me but some things are very confusing. He taught us chords andI'm wondering are chords just groupings of notes that make reading music easier for example you wouldn't say I'm gonna play c, e, and g you would say c major chord? Tell me if my assumption was right. Second I can't memorize the letters on the key board and the staffs suck in that area of music. Any advice?Lastly where are some good places to get free sheet music for beginners NOT ILLEGAL PLEASE! You can add any other advice if you want I need all the help I can get! Thank you! moreOpen Question: Musical Audition Help!?
Hey, everyone. I'm an actress. I've auditioned for a lot of community theatre stuff and I plan to study acting in college. However, I am auditioning for Sweeney Todd because I absolutely love this show. I'm auditioning for the role of Mrs. Lovett. My problem is my "musical ear" isn't great. I have a few quick questions and I was hoping you all could help. - I'm singing "In Short" from the musical "Edges" for my audition. I want to stop at a certain point. Should I mark that on my sheet music? Should I tell the pianist before I sing? I know that usually the director stops you but sometimes they don't and I don't want to get stuck singing the whole song. - I can't sing as high as some of the girls on youtube sing the song. Do I tell the pianist to play the song down an octave or do I just sing it the way I'm comfortable with? Thanks everyone. moreOpen Question: ARGH!!! WHY ARE PARENTS SO ANNOYING????!!!!!?
Ok so heres the deal,it was my parents night tonight and my mum came along. In our school you just book the appointments for the certain subject and as we are picking our subjects this year then (we only get to choose 6 max) naturally i chose to see drama and music. I have to choose between music and drama because theyre in the same column for our options sheets and theres only home ec and technical studies in the rest of that column. The thing with my mum is that she doesn't 'believe' in these subjects so she was being really unenthusiastic and just ummed tthoughit all!! What annoyed me was that when we went to art she was really enthusiastic!!??? (I'm top of the class in all three creative subjects btw). On top of that whenever I say something about drama.music she always makes it VERY clear that she is COMPLETELY uninterested even if i get like a certificate of eendeavoror something she says that it doesnt matter because its a pointless subject????!!!! I went to a theatre school for two months but quit. She tells me this all the time and says that it proves her beliefs. See, the thing is I only quit because I didn't want them to pay so much because its very expensive and my friend depended on me to go. I thought if I went for a few months and they paid the deposit that would keep them all happy bbutguess not. What bugs me though is just that my mums not supportive for anything dramatic and is pushing me towards becoming a doctor/lawyer/teacher but I just can't envision myself doing this. Please help!! I'm feeling pressured!! How can I maker her supportive of me?? moreOpen Question: Where can I find Vanilla Twilight (by Owl City) piano sheet music for free?
I want to sing this song for a show at my school, and the sheet music I looked for that you pay for is wrong. It doesn't matter what key it's in. I can transpose it myself, no problem. I just need to know where I can find some free sheet music. Thanks to all who answer. =) moreResolved Question: Compilation "CM"- GEN. INFO. Resource Page, for "NEWBIES": all Regular PATRONS, please HELP?
As many if not most regular patrons of this CM forum do, I love this genre; it's been and continues to be a main-stay of my life: an abiding interest, and a resource for spiritual rejuvenation and succor, which never fails me. And I want to propitiate, promote its appreciation in any way that I can. The perpetual in and out flow of "Newbies" to this forum, presents such an opportunity. To take advantage of this, I'm compiling a CM.-GEN. INFO, Resource Page for their utilization; and am here requesting any of you Regular Patrons for aid/assistance/input in its design, and resource recommendations(it's meant to be easily accessible for posting as a response to any relevant inquiry). The following is the basic outline I've come up with so far: (1) "where can I get FREE sheet music for (whatever type of instrument, say, "piano"(or orchestral score)?": LINK (repeat - FREE)??????? (2) "where can I find info. about--------------Mozart; Beethoven; Bach; etc., etc.; or any general information about CM?": I always provide this LINK: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_music_(disambiguation) (3) "where can I listen to classical music for FREE?" I always reference You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EToY-LCDY08 (4) "where can I download mp3?" LINK ??????? There are often other requests, for which I'm going to rely upon you who are much more knowledgeable than I to recommend. This project is only in genesis form, obviously; so please, PLEASE, feel free to recommend any and all alterations/additions, you might consider to more helpful than the resources I've listed. And if any of you should wish to resume responsibility for it, such a Project, again, PLEASE, feel free to inform me; I will be most happy to turn it over to you and/or assist you in anyway that I can. Thank you, Alberich moreResolved Question: Should a parent be worried about how much homework a middle schooler gets?
As a mother of a 12 year old daughter, I'm concerned about the amount of homework my child is getting. This is usually what she gets per night and keeps her away from friends, extracurricular activities, playing outside, sometimes even showering (which gets quite nasty even for a mom when it's a "special week" for her) What she gets: Language Arts: read, worksheet, and there's usually a project like a poster about Edgar Allen Poe or something like that Math: Text book work, usually something like 1-15 all 20-30 (even if it's graphing) and study for test Science: Again, usually a project or lab to do/prepare for, study, read text book, packet Social Studies: I don't like this teacher very much because she will normally tell you to do an outline on a chapter in the text book (usually reading/outlining 6-10 pages) and then she will continue that and throw 2 essays and a test to study for on top of that at the same time. Gym: workout or die when you're supposed to do 45 push ups in a minute and 50 sit ups in a minute, wash gym clothes Health: Work sheet, projects often Electives: music is usually a label notes and practice a song thing, computer's is come up with something unique to type about (recipe or newspaper type thing), tech ed is study for working quiz on heavy machinery How does this compare to your kid's homework amount? She's a straight A student and always does her work. Homework usually takes from 3PM to 9PM but she falls asleep often when doing homework especially when it gets around 7/8. I'm not even sure when the last time she went to her friends' house was...I've watched her do her work and she rarely gets distracted, too.and yes, the majority is due the next day except projects which usually get 2-3 daysI think a couple of kids in the high school are cutting due to the amount of homework... I don't want her to go! moreResolved Question: Does anybody know of a program that inputs musical notation on the computer as you play your instrument?
I'm not very good at all with writing my own sheet music, and I have a song that needs to be put down in notation format. How do I go about doing this? I know all the letter notes, but is there a way I can play my instrument and have the computer pick up the notes and place them onto sheet music? I need to do this so I can copyright my song. Thanks for your help! moreVoting Question: Should I keep my piano tutor?
I taught myself piano onto grade four, so my parents decided I should get a teacher. I have had my teacher since September, and I really haven't improved at all. With my teacher, there is really no motive or anything making me want to practise. I am made to do songs I hate, and I just don't like being forced to do things. Before I got my teacher, I used to practise loads every night, bar by bar until I got the song perfect. I used to practise scales and everything. Before I used to spend hours on the internet and in shops looking for sheet music that I really liked (most of it was Danny Elfman and Stephen Sondheim) but now she is making me do Beethoven and Mozart and all that. I realise that it is good to play a range of music, not just one, but it is still annoying. Do you think I should give up lessons? moreResolved Question: Still having problems with false Christians...help?
Ok I will mention for like the millionth time I am not even going to to try to use correct grammar so this is going to be just a wall of text sorry...anyways I have asked a similar question before about false Christians and well there's this family that i'm related to and well first there's Stacey and she is my cousin, she's in her early 20's and she hasa husband named Timmy and idk how old he is I think he's like in his 30's but then when Stacey was like 16 she got pregnant with their daughter Ashley who is 9 y/o now and they also have a 1 y/o son who's named Austin and well, they've never really been a "Christian" family and latley they started saying that they are a Christian family and I mean it's ok if they wanna change and stuff biut they've been basically lieing I mean they say they go to the church I go to 3 times a week just like me and they got they're daughter Ashley saying it and that's a lie,and basically just about every other word that comes out of they're mouth is a curse word they don't read they're bible they ALWAYS use the Lords name in vain which bugs me and idk like Ashley is always watchn' PORNOS,and dirty dancing, and listening to really bad music, and curseing, and she's always causing drama and tellin' people lies to start fights, but then she turns around and lies about going to church and says she's liveing a holy life, and I mean i've heard of people being so called "Christians" but not really liveing a holy life like they should be but idk I mean to LIE about liveing a holy life is like a whole nother level of wickedness I love these people I really do bu I wanna help them realize how much it hurts me to see the way they're liveing, maybe then they wouldn't always wanna FIGHT with eachother and maybe then they would really be happy and learn to love, and omg ok I know this is kinda random but whenever me and Ashley were selling Girl Scout cookies ((I know i'm too old for Girl Scouts lol)) I got this great idea to sell them at my church because I don't go to normal school like everyone else but I go to church 3 times a week so that's a huge part of my life so I thought since I go to church all the time and nowhere else I could just bring my order sheet along but then I opened my big mouth in at the Girl Scout meeting and then as soon as I said it Ashley freaks out with excitment and goes "I go to the same church as her yeah that's a good idea!!" but the problem is SHE DOESN'T then I told her like the next day that you shouldn't just go to church to sell Girl Scout cookies you should go because you have faith in Jesus and I was like "I go because I have faith in Jesus not just to sell cookies" and then she's like "yeah me too" but she doesn't go to church..........anyways I hope you understnad I just want to help them not talk bad about them I just want them to stop PRETENDING to be Christians and start going in it for reals!JUST TURNED 15 BTW moreVoting Question: I need help with this CSS style sheet code thing.?
I have this website called www.downelink.com that I use (like myspace) and have made a layout that I want to put as my background. I made the layout and had a fellow user help me convert my html file to php and he put it in an iframe for me. Now, he told me to look at his source code and do the next part. <pre lang="xml"><br /> <TABLE><TR><TD></TD></TR></TABLE></DIV></TD></TR></TABLE></DIV></TD></TD></TR></TABLE></TD></TD></TR></TABLE></TD></TD></TR></TABLE></td></tr></table><div id="bun"><IFRAME SRC="http://naughtydude.phpnet.us/downelink/encrypted2.php?ad=erase" name="downelink" height="1230px" width="820px" allowtransparency="true" background-color="transparent" scrolling=no frameborder=0 marginwidth=0></iframe></div><center><table class="profile3"><tr><td><table><tr><td> MUSIC = <link href="http://naughtydude.phpnet.us/google/alice2.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet"><body oncontextmenu='alert("Everytime you right-click, you get older."); return false;' onselectstart='return false' onload='document.title=("Joshua Van Cruise");'></span> <br /></pre> the second code is the one he told me to work on. I have a beginner's guitar book that has sheet music and guitar chord charts on it. The thing teaches you which notes are which and how to play them. For example it shows that the high F on the staff is made by playing the first fret of the first string (smallest one). This is shown with a single note on that line of sheet music. This example goes all the way to the fourth string D, all show with single notes on the staff. Then it gets into chords and I get lost. It shows a G chord in the format played like this (tabs): e--3 B--0 G--0 D--0 A--2 E--3 But the same note on the staff line is a single G note. Now, my question is, what about the sheet music that shows stacked notes? How are these played? For example if I see a G and high E notes stacked, what chord is tat? How do I play that? This book does not teach about stacked notes on the staff. moreResolved Question: What do you think of my Twilight fan fiction its only the start?
Hi, so I have writers block on my novel and can't seem to get passed it but I still want to write so I thought writing a fan fic would be relaxing - I was right, lol - anyway the past that has *** beside it should be in italic font. So, what do you think? “Jacob called again,” mom shouted from the kitchen. I do not know why she was in there they never used it except when granddad came over and she was trying to look ‘human’. “I’ll call him later, mom.” I replied with no intention of doing it. Why did he have to tell me about them? Pulling out the music sheet dad forced me to play every night from my school backpack I relocated from the living room window to the stool by the grand piano. I don’t even know why I was bothering to try. I never inherited my ‘musical talents’ from my father’s side of the family but it made him happy to see me play and that’s all that mattered. Propping the wrinkled sheet against the gold music stand my fingers ran over the ivory keys. I looked around to make sure no one was present and I gently tapped the first key. “Oh god, my ears.” Uncle Emmett was beside me in two seconds flat, his hands above his head pleading with the skies. “Make her stop.” “Funny,” I said but I knew he was right there was no way I was ever going to learn this. I pulled the sheet down and walked past him with my head dipping. “Oh, come on Nessie, I was fooling around,” he begged, “Come back you’ve only begun.” “Go annoy, Jasper,” I shouted back in return. When I entered the kitchen, Mom was cooking her signature dish of Chicken Enchiladas and I knew Granddad Charlie must be due soon. “I didn’t know Granddad was coming?” I said, opening the white cupboard doors and pulling out two plates. “Aunt Alice is away to pick him up just now,” Mom replied. “I think he has some news for us.” She hurried from the sink to the stove as she hummed away merrily. I knew she loved feeling human again whenever she got the chance and any other day I would love to sit at the kitchen table and watch her, but not today. No, not after what Jacob had told me. “Mom, can I pass on dinner?” I asked hoping she would turn around and I could melt her with the same look I used on dad with the help of my chocolate brown eyes. “Darling,” she began still rushing about the large kitchen, “You haven’t seen Granddad for a while now. What’s wrong?” “Nothing,” I said looking down at the marble tiles, “I have a test at school I have to study for.” How could I tell her the truth? How was I supposed to tell her that the man I loved just broke my heart by telling me, he once loved my mom? Stupid Jacob Black. I hated him for what he just told me. However, I couldn’t just switch my feelings off; I loved him also. A tear ran down my face as mom came and sat her cold white hand upon my shoulder. “It’s okay to be excused tonight, sweetheart. You go study for that test.” She kissed my head and a chill ran through my body. My mother never asked me much about my problems; she knew how it felt to be asked repeatedly about something and never wanting to open up. She always knew how to make my problems better without having to dig around to find out what was wrong. However, she wouldn’t be able to solve this one. Not this time. Back in the familiar surroundings of the cottage, I made my way into my tiny bedroom. The walls in here reflected my mood they were dark purple and the swirls on them looked like the constant dark clouds that hovered over Forks. I fell onto my bed, switched on my music player, and placed the buds into my ears and turned the volume up full blast, hoping the noise would distract my brain from recalling the moment Jacob told me. Italic font*** It was sunny outside and I had to screen my eyes with my hand so I could see him coming towards me. My heart fluttered as he came closer and closer. Abby – my best friend – was complaining about how lucky I was to be dating someone so gorgeous. I ignored her and concentrated on Jacob. The way he walked, talked, and smiled always sent my heart into overdrive. He had been around me for as long as I could remember and it just felt right to be near him. I lifted my hand to wave at him only stopping when I realised he wasn’t making his way towards me. I watched in horror as he simply strolled past without noticing me, and into very young looking arms, of my mother. “Bella,” he said, picking her up and twirling her. “Jake,” she cried. “I’ve missed you so much.” He placed her down on the sidewalk and gently took her hands, “It’s always been you. You’re the one I’m meant to be with. Does your offer still stand to run away?” “Jacob, I can’t just leave my daughter or my family but I will find a way to be with you.” The space between them closed in as Jacob bent down and kissed her lips, transformed, and ran away. I called after him but it was no use, I was invisible, to him at least. My mother walked ove. My mother walked over to me and took my hand. “Don’t worry Nessie,” she said. “It was always supposed to be this way.”*** Italic font end! I woke up with tears running down my face and soaking my pillow. The music, I had fallen asleep to, was skipping on a track. I pulled the buds out my ears and threw them on the floor. I heard low mumbling coming from the living room area and realised it must be late if dad and mom were back; dad was hunting today and said he wouldn’t be back until nightfall. Not wanting to cause a scene – dad already had a dislike for Jacob, this would just make it worse- I fell back onto my single wooden bed and traced the engraving on the headboard, ‘look after my heart, I’ve left it with you.’Yes, I have 2 chapters...so far! I am an 18-year-old gay man and in high school, I was always the best in art. I wasn't so great in math or English, but everyone knew that in art class, they couldn't top me. Even my teachers told me I was a genious and should look into pursuing a career in art. I could draw, paint, and do pretty much anything. I never had professional training and could draw things that my friend, who took private art lessons, couldn't. I could do shadows and just had so much talent. I also took one year of piano lessons and after that year, I could play very complicated songs that my teacher told me people sometimes take years to learn. I could master them in a month. I was extremly talented. I quit a year after but even after, I would take music sheets and could easily read them and play anything. However, at 17, I began feeling ugly and old and lost my self-esteem. I didn't play the piano or draw for a year. Recently, I've been feeling as though I have no hobbies and tried drawing. It wasn't what it used to be. My piano-playing skills weren't either. I have lost my talent completely in both those fields and feel terrible about myself now. I could have been an expert pianist by now and a great artist. As a child, I could also speak a bit of Hungarian and German and I have books in both those languages now, but because I had no interest in learning them more, I have forgotten all that I knew about those languages. I'm too old to learn anything now. Does talent leave as you age? moreVoting Question: Where can i find piano sheet music for my favorite modern songs in spanish for free?

Well all I remember is seeing this weird car in front of my house. So I walk in, hear my mom blasting music. I open her door, and there she is half-naked with a guy who IS naked underneath the sheets standing up, looking at her wardrobe. My mom made a "icky" face at me. Then all I remember is that I was at a carnival. I was on the phone with an ex-best-friend (I don't really know what happened. Yesterday we hung out together, and it was kinda awkward, but yeah, I guess we're good now..) And we were talking on the phone. All of a sudden she said something and I was like, "What? No." then she hung up the phone. So I went to another friend and she was like "You just missed the deal, the huge tv for $200." So I go to ANOTHER friend, and in the group next to us I see my crush. And I keep on trying to get his attention (but not being too loud) and I can't. Hello, The school talents show is coming up in a few months and i want to know what are really good, impressive, songs for the (ALTO SAXAPHONE). I am not an expert but i know all the basics and i want something in between easy, and hard. But something that would be impressive, and excelent. This is not for competition by the way i just want to share my talents. And also if you can, can you find me the music sheet, or let me know where to look. Thank you! moreResolved Question: Do you think it's nicer to have old sheet music or new?
I just found this really old second hand bookshop about an hours drive from my house. It's massive. It was probably an old typical English Edwardian house. It has 3 floors, and EVERY single wall is covered, to the ceiling, with second hand books! It even has a turning bookshelf that leads into a cafe where they sell homemade soup. Those walls are filled with old cookbooks!! But the best bit is that they have almost a whole room full of second hand sheet music!! And it's so cheap! I got the Blue Danube for 50p! And I got 48 preludes and fugues by Bach, in two separate books for £2 each! I got a pile of duets, Rachmaninov's prelude in g minor, the Nutcracker Suite, the Swan Lake suite, a huge Mendelssohn book... and my favorite ever - I got the Peer Gynt suite and two of the Lyric pieces books by Grieg! This is only half of what I got at that shop, and in total, I only spent £21! But I put it next to all of my clean, perfectly kept music, and it looks silly! Having been to that shop, I have decided that the only place I'm going to buy music, (apart from exam music) is a second hand shop or website. It looks so much more... sentimental when it's old and tattered. The oldest book I got is dated 1898. That's the Mendelssohn. Most of th music is before the 1950's, I think, but some of it's not dated. So what do you prefer? The ancient, yellowed, and delicate music, or the crisp, shiny new stuff? So Ive realised, i have to be completley honest with myself now, to move on with my life and make somthing of my future. I recently realised, that I will be going to college, not because, im made to go but because ive found out, I WANT TO GO. I will go in at 18, learn law it takes 3 years, be out by 21, get a degree in phycology, then Ill find me a job..... i never knew id plan on doing this in all of my life, but i guess ive sort of always hinted at it, i WANTED to go to military school when i was 7.... its seemed rather fun. and other moments..... I always thought id be a singer or somthing.... it took me long enough to realise my voice is crap. i enjoyed modeling, but i could never do it again. Ive enjoyed the dreams i forever cherished in my heart, of fame, of fourtune, or friends, of fancy cars and mansions, but its not real, not even for the richest person in the world. No one can ever be happy with all that, even though ithey appears to be. I like paper, and organizing things, though for the sake of it i can never myself be organised.so i always thought id maybe be a secratary........ and i still may be. I like computers, and music, and i act pretty drunk for no apperant reason, I feel somtimes its the only thing i can do but i know better. I never flunked out of jwj, i just never tried. if i did try, i wouldnt be procrastinanting like i do now. it seems harder than it actually was, because i never tried. I never really disiplined myself, except for in 5th grade, where i felt obligated to actually go to school everyday. patrols, always go to school. getting good grades in school, just comes to me. i never actually tried to learn anything, it just got stuck in my brain. ive been skipped up a grade. i still dont try to learn anything, i only try when somthing interests. me. ive tricked people. several times, it was i guess a high for me, part of my personal demon some people would say. the reason i am trying to change all of this is because i cannot live like this anymore. its also partially why im going to school. i never really fit in as a kid, always either the quiet one, the overly talkative one, the naive one, the idiot, the genious, the patrol, the walking cheat sheet, or just the weird one. it felt nromal though out my days at school, but all suddenly, this year, i realised i hated it at times it felt like I had lost myself, cause people try to make you someone else, or maybe because iwas just competeing with other trying to be like them, instead of myself. i still dont know who i am though, maybe one day i will .im somewhat sensitive...... i dont like to talk of certain things. i never really knew my father, the one and only memory i remember of him is oen where i was waiting for my momma to come home from work one day, and he was teacheing me how to clean my glasses. and how to use his portable hair brush. also, once, i called hi on my birthday..... we talked for maybe 2 minutes, and then he hung up on me. i still dont know hwere hes at today. i never really have had a father figure. my uncle died when i was little. and when i livind in miami, in a town house, i remember always sitting on the top of the steps, thinking, and thinking....... how no one loved me, because they never asked why i was there. those were strong thoughts for a 5 year old to think. it turned out to be my favorite spot though, ive never found another like it. victor, is just there, and my grandpa is just my granda. i doubt i have any friends aymore...... its a wonder some have stuck by me through my moods..... ive been so close to lossing the ones i have now, but ive somehow made it through. i miss my kid hood though, comming home from beauclerc, throwing my back packk on the floor, saying high to my mooma, my grandparents, the dog, and sitting down to watch carttons, and disney. i never really remember having homework, though i know i did, being dumb founded when someone once asked me in gifted what was black and white and red all over, and i said my most educated guess only to be laughed at, and the person said its a news paper. i remember running around saving ants, and being stupid with what i can recall to be i guess .... my first reall best friends. myia and tyler. i remember, just making fun of some dude because i got dragged into it by some person in gifted too. its a lot in my mind. all the past. not even half of it written here, but i guess its true waht some famous person once said...... the farther back you can look into your past, the more you can see forward to your future. i now see me actually doing somthing with my life, and its going to be somthing im going to be working at ---------------------------------------------- i still need help, please ask a question in your answer and i will put it in my next question which will be part 2 of this. moreVoting Question: In reply to the user who gave this answer to this question?
This was the original question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100210171637AAB50xB&r=w&pa=AptqD2bwHTHc6OSOZqEwt9qZvjJJvKXqx5Hc7F6e1SxNbg--&paid=voted I am not sure who this user is but this was the answer he/she gave: "Someone put it very well, I can't remember who told me this, but: "Nature (breeding) is the sheet music, nurture (training & socialization) is the conductor." You can influence the dog, but you can't change it's fundamental nature." Here is my reply to this user: I totally disagree. 99% of so called 'bad' dogs are caused by bad, inexperienced, incompetent, irresponsible, and erratic plus what have you in mind the OWNERS If the owner is the 'conductor' and the dog is the sheet music or should I say the orchestra. The sound of music is only as good as the weakest link. In this case if the conductor cannot interpret the composer's feeling and expression how could he bring out the brilliance of the orchestra. I always maintain that all dogs are capable of biting but I also believe that no dog will bite the hands feeding it. This I find is quite an interesting topic and should be discussed further. moreResolved Question: What Song To Get For a Viola Player?

Hello, I am a student struggling with writing an essay in English. (This is my assignment) I'm very sorry for the long essay/ How did I make that instrument? (rainmaker) First, I took a plastic tube with lid (I don’t use glass for a health and safety purposes). I peeled off the label on the tube. I cut the shiny papers and A4 card sheet in various colours and the same length. I stuck that papers on the tube (circle way). I used a scissor, craft tape, liquid craft glue and pritt glue stick to decorate and stick those papers on the tube. After that, I stuck the other parts of shiny papers on the circle way of decorating papers in the different angle (S shapes). I stuck the various colours of shapes, sequins and sticky alphabets on the tube of decorating papers. The entire decorating part, I demonstrated with my own child. He is a 4 year old boy. He asked the open questions, which means, “what is this”, “why you’re making this” and “what is the name of this”. I explained those questions and I asked to him, “would you like to make this instrument”, he said, “no, I sit and watch with your work”, “I help you”. I really encouraged his involvement of my work. He learned the alphabets, colours and shapes. He also learned a useful vocabulary (shake, Music, Sounds, Rain, fall and instrument). He enjoyed watching that activity. After my decorating, I planned to put a lot of objects (kitchen foil, brown beans, rice, lentils, beads and seeds) in the tube, which is making a nice sound. At that time, my child he wanted to put those objects in the tube. That, I took and twisted a piece of kitchen foil and I showed the entire objects with him. I instructed to him about putting the foil first in the tube. He followed my instructions. I put his choice in the tube. I asked to him to choose which one, and how many he would like to put into the tube. He learned the names of the resources, which was (all the sound making objects, sticky alphabets, shapes and colours). After filled with objects, I covered the tube with lid and I showed to him about shaking method of tube, which makes a sound when the tube is upended. I also tipped that tube from side to side to hear the rice fall. He used his fine motor skills about shaking that rainmaker. He was listening and responding to the music. During that time, he used his eye and hand coordination well. We communicated well that situation. I explained to him, “when you listen that rainmaker, you will compare the different sounds made by the different materials that were put inside”. We talked about other things, which means, we could have put the kitchen foil inside the tube. That how the sound makes different. moreResolved Question: please correct mistakes of this writing!!!!?

plz give me conclusion sentence and or title for this prose its due tomorrow- just had flu and having extreme writer's block Have you ever been to a place you loved more than your own dreams? A place where you just knew that you belonged and would do anything just to remain there? I have and for me that place is Paris, France and is as important to me as my own music. This means very much, of course, if you factor in that I play piano, harp, and flute and spend most of my time in lessons or practicing, or that my role model is Nancy Hurrell, harpist extraordinaire. It might be hard to understand my love for this city, but if you have ever been there, then you would surely understand. The reason that I love Paris so very much is due to the vacation I took there the summer after sixth grade. I instantly fell in love with the beauty of the city; it was like it was made for me. The matching buildings were ancient and detailed due to a law passed by Napoleon during his rule, I personally love ancient architecture especially French architecture. It was amazing how it could be so beautiful but yet be such a busy, thriving city, which is another thing that I love, I could go on all day about all that I love about Paris; the language, the feel, the Louvre… When my mom, dad, and I were in Paris we stayed at l’Hotel Splendid Etoile a lovely hotel right off l’Arc de Triomphe and across the street from l’Empereur Café, which had phenomenal escargot in the shell. From our balcony you could see the most famous French monument, la Tour Eiffel, as its ‘Christmas lights’ twinkled on the hour all night. Down ‘la rue’ from us was, by some coincidence, was a fabulous harp boutique where I bought some gorgeous sheet music which I played at my uncle’s wedding. When I heard that my Uncle Mike was getting married to his girlfriend, Adrienne, I was excited for them, but even more excited to play harp at their wedding. I was playing solo for the whole wedding and was very excited. When I got outside the hall to set up the harp in my flowing black layered gown with sequin embellished straps, I realized that it was frigid on the lake and extremely windy which caused my harp to make a lot of noise. I wrapped my little silk shawl around me and started to play my Parisian song as my nana and the bridesmaids came practically stampeding down the old wooden stairs. Now I hastily changed my music over as the bride came immediately gliding out even though I had requested for her to wait, I broke out in the wedding march and everything went perfectly. I tried to muffle my harp throughout the vows and then nailed the Mendelssohn at the end, even with numb shivering fingers and goosebump covered arms. Performing in front of this crowd made me think about my harpist friend Nancy Hurrell. I met Nancy for the first time at the Loon Mountain Highland Games three years ago when she was hosting a Celtic harp clinic. Nancy and I really connected, and she was very helpful and friendly with me. I see Nancy at just about every harp event I go to, as we are both members of The Boston Harp Society, and she is a great role model for me. She has played for many famous celebrities like JFK, the princess and ambassador of Spain, and many more. She has had a very successful career, and if you want to know more, just look her up online. As you can see, I have some great things going on in my life and have some big dreams. My events in this essay actually tie together quite well as I plan to be a harpist in Paris after I graduate from Berklee (I hope). I desire to be a lot like Nancy and play for weddings, parties, fancy restaurants, tea houses, and such. I get a bit nervous when I play in front of people, but I do love it so much and I am pretty good at just concentrating on my playing, surprisingly I get less nervous playing solo than with a group. I guess this is due to the fact that I can just fudge when I’m alone which you can’t due with a group as much. Now you know my dreams, and hopefully understand a lot more about who I am. moreResolved Question: sleeping poll for the sleepy?

i auditioned for LaGuardia High School of preforming arts for vocal and instrumental . i can play the piano and read sheet music . for my audition i had this really intimidating voice teacher as the adjudicator. i saw a girl come out and she was like " he's so scary !!! " and " i did so bad " and stuff like that . so i was getting kinda nervous . when they guy came out and called my name , for some reason all the nerves went away. i gave him my letter of recommendation ( forgetting it wasnt for him , but for the piano adjudicator ) so he was trying to be all itimidating and mean to try and test to see if he could syke me out and he was like " what are you giving me this for ? i dont need this ! " ( he didnt say it really mean , cause i knew he was TRYING to be that way ) so i just smiled like it was a joke all embarassed like . but he took the letter and opened it any way . he saw that my piano teacher at school said i was working on a piano piece and he asked me to play it ( toccata and fugue by bach ) so i played part of it for him and he stopped me at about half of the page and told me to play the piece i was playing for the piano audition .( prelude by bach ) so i played half of it before he stopped me . ( he didnt say " okay thats enough " he was like " okay " like approvingly . and he told me to go up to the stand ( where you sing ) . then he waited a second before he told me to start . he sat at the piano , and started playing the piece i had just played ( the prelude ) and i started laughing and he started smiling the he started to laugh . then he told me to sing . i sang my song and to my surprise my voice didnt shake at all . usually my voice shakes when im nervous . after i finished my song he was thinking for a second then told me to sing silent night . i sang it and he said " okay " apporvingly again . and then i did the tapping test and then the melody test . i did good on both of them . and it was over . i asked around after other people took their auditions for voice too see how theirs went .. and it was NOTHING like mine ... he only asked them to sing their song and do the tests . not all the extra stuff he asked me to do .. i think it went well but im going against ALOT of really good people too and i dont know what their looking for . the only reason i mentioned the piano part of the audition was because they usually want people who know how to read music . cause when they take people in for voice , they take piano classes . to learn to read music . and i know he knows i already know how to read music , so im guessing thats good on my part . the only bad part im worrying about is my grades .. the guy asked me what my grades were cause i didnt have my report card on hand ( it was mailed in ) and i said that they were in the 90's .. and he asked if they were lower or higher before and i said lower .. he asked how low and i said in the 80's ... it was partly true because i got above 80's in 2 classes and in 70's in the other ones last year . but this year it was 90's . but he already had the results on the paper when he gave it to his assitant to give to the people who handel the results . so if it said ACCEPTED on the paper , and they give it in . does it mean i get in ? OR do they look at the report card first ? cause all the kids but me had it on hand to give it to the adjudicator and they gave it back when they were finished looking at it .. so what do you think ? did i get in ? moreResolved Question: Chord issues with garageband (if you know music theory, you'd help a lot)?

We're once again messing with garageband, but this time it's because he's out and he wants us all to create songs. Well, I can't remember to save my life how to go back to what I described up there. Any help? I only have two days to finish and I'd be at an advantage if I could figure it out. I must have looked around for ten minutes trying to figure it out to no avail. Pleeeeaaasseee help me out here. moreResolved Question: I need a large group talent show idea... ASAP!?
Okay so I am in my last year of middle school (9th grade... yes our district has a 7,8,9 middle school) and I have been in the select chorus for all three years. We are the first class that our choral director has taught for three years. He has been amazing and we want to sing a song for him at the end of the year talent show. We are thinking of doing the Glee version of "My life would Suck without you". The thing is, our school may not allow it. So I need a couple new song ideas that would be suitable for a group of about 20 9th graders. Also it needs to be a somewhat popular song... nothing classical. Finding the song is the easy part.... I need to have a PROFESSIONAL arrangement. That means that I need a website that will allow me to buy sheet music for a full group. Give me a song and a website that I can buy the music off of and I will give 10 points to the person fastest to do this (oh btw it has to be a song that i like) THANK YOU!!! moreResolved Question: Musicals question!!!! I'm really inspired by Miley Cyrus's old hollywood themed bed room. I saw it in one of my magazines and fell in love with it! It's so cute and relaxing. Any suggestions on places I could get sheets, pillows, blankets, lamps, etc. similar to the items in her room? I already ordered simple black furniture that is coming soon (a dresser, bed frame, mirror, vanity, etc.), so I don't need links to furniture :] I also have white carpeting, but I definitely want to put fun rugs on top of it. And anything zebra print is great! I think that the hints of zebra print in her room look so cute! Of course I don't want my room to look exactly like hers, but it is definitely an inspiration. And btw, I am not a Miley Cyrus fan, I just think that her room is really cute. I personally don't like her music, but again, I like her room. So please no "I hate miley cyrus she sucks" because this question is about the decoration of her bedroom! Not her personality/music! Haha thank you so much for all of the help! It is very much appreciated! And also, low price range please! I know that some of her stuff is from Z Gallery and that stuff is wayy out of my price range haha. Thanks again! :] Picture of her bedroom: http://omg.yahoo.com/photos/mileys-crash-pad/1987?nc Links please! :] Thanks againn! moreResolved Question: piano notes/cords to the song white horse or fall for you?

I'm the keyboard player in my high school jazz band and for this year's competitions it seems we're going to play Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band - Hit the Ground Running. Anyone that's heard the song knows that the keyboard part to that song is pretty awesome, so I'd like to get a head start. I've searched all the usual places I find free sheet music and come up dry. To people who have the sheet music digitally stored is some way, shape or form, it would be much appreciated if you could email me at PianoMan013@yahoo.com. To people who know how to acquire it, or likely places to search, or tricks to the song (if you've played it in the past), or any info at all, really, help would be much appreciated. Thank you. moreResolved Question: ***URGENT*** FLUENT SPANISH TRANSLATORS NEEDED?
I have an oral exam on Friday and it would be amazing if you could translate the following for me :). Thankyou very much. I live in a semi-detached house in the city, it has a small garden with a pond and lots of pretty fish, i love my fish. My house has seven floors and two floors. The living room is next to the dining room and under my bedroom. I really like the living room because it has a big television and a comfy chair, however, i hate the leopard print rug. The dining room is colourful and has a huge table with six wooden chairs but we never have people over for dinner. I have a small ugly kitchen, the walls are a dark ugly orange and the washing machine is always running which makes a very loud noise all the time, i dont like the kitchen much. The stairs are long and boring, there is thirteen steps, my mother says thats unlucky. I dont like new my bedroom very much. It is next to the bathroom, the walls in the bathroom are white and pretty. The shower is very fun. My mam and dads room is private, so i've never been in there before. The games room is the best room in the house, it has a big t.v with an xbox and cool games to play on, and a big pool table. I love the games room. I hate my bedroom it is ugly and boring, however, my bedroom I had before was the best. It had a big pink double bed with lots of pretty cushions and silk sheets. The carpet was big and warm, it was cream and very soft. I had a television aswell, it was really big and i liked it a lot, i watched lots of romantic films such as 'The notebook' and 'Titanic'. My best friend used to come round and sleep over and we used to play with all my really cool games and had a lot of fun. I had a really big clock on my wall and it used to tick very loudly, especially on a night. When I am older I am going to have another room like my old one. My neighour hood is quite big and very noisy, it used to be the countryside and had lots of pretty horses, however, now there are lots and lots of big houses everywhere. My next door neighbour always plays very loud music and its very annoying. My neighbours to the right is Mr and Mrs Wilson and they are very nice and give me sweets and cookies. At night there are always people that walk past and shout and scream, my mother says they have been drinking alcohol. My town in very touristic with a bar everywhere you look, there are lots of tourists and they love disco's and bars. During the day my dad works at a tourist shop, he sells lots of things such as t-shirts and sun glasses. The high street has lots of clothes shops and ice cream shops, which i like. It has a cinema with lots of movies to watch and there is a swimming pool with a big blue slide. In the future I would love to live in Australia with kangaroo's and koala bears in a big house with a swimming pool in my back garden. I want a big room with a very big window, so that i can look at the beautiful views. I want to have a huge pink bed with lots of comfy cushions like my old bed and quite a big dressing table with lots of perfume and make up for me to wear. Ok, so i signed up for marching band last year. So I come on the first day of school and my teacher gives me a suprised face, well it turns out all of August they had been practicing songs and steps and everything. Since I couldn't master all the steps and songs he put me in the pit (keyed instruments that don't march) when i had just very basic key reading skills. So then he say's you have 2 week's to master and memorize 5 pages of music or else I am kicking you out of our band. So obviously i just barely got in to the mood and tempo after two weeks. So now he gives me a binder with 40 pages of music theroy and says i want this done in two month's, (I seriously did it all in two hours). So the entire 1 1/2 quarter of school became a study hall for me and i get an easy A. So now Marching Band is finally over and i get to play again. We'll to start off the quarter he gives us sheet music (which he dosen't have a part for everyone) to the section leader and he gives all the excelling drummers from marching band a part and totally skips out Me, a Nerdy Kid and a Slacker. So for the next week of school I only play in the warm ups. So then this big Concert comes up that is worth half our grade and since he only gave out one song to the band (a part I don't play in) I assume I don't need to go and they are just going to play Marching Band songs. So then one day i check edline and i have an F in Marching Band for the cncert. So I just think its a misunderstanding so I talk to him and he refuses to excuse it. I told him how I wouldn't play and he just says "You should of found something to play." WTF does that mean?! And also I ask him to give me something to make up for it and he says "I will think about it" and just blows me off. So I told my Mom and she filled with the counselor and they say it was just some big miscommunication and if i Ace the final I can get a D. A D in band! Ok this is a horriable way to start off my first semester of high school and i'm getting an F for one stupid Concert. Do you think this is fair? I want to go get a dehree at a college in Computer Science. And also the reason this pisses me off is I have ok grades in all my other classes: English: B- Computer Literacy: B Spanish: B- Biology: A Math: C Advisory: A moreResolved Question: ***URGENT*** FLUENT SPANISH SPEAKERS NEEDED!! I decided to get myself in to lessons so I can refine my skills. I found a few options for private lessons and all teachers have degrees... One of my options is four 30 minute private classes for $90 at a studio where I live. Another is going to someones private residence and he charges.... $25 per 30 minute lesson Are 30 minute session going to be enough time to be worth it? The price sounded good to me... Does that sound fair to you? And they do adult classes but how do I know what level I am at? I already know how to read sheet music very well and can play some fairly complex pieces... But since I'm self taught I know I have picked up a lot of bad habits and there is room for improvement. The things I want to work on... -My posture -Finger position - Symbols - Rhythm - Using pedals Also, what should I look for in a teacher? Thanks! moreResolved Question: Recommendations for piano music ?
I've passed my 8th grade exam- could do amus if i wanted to but with all the assignments/ school hwk and extra curriculum activities and knowing about having to do theory and how much time and pressure is needed to- I didn't continue on. I'm supposed to practise at least half an hour a day now so I don't lose my technique and skill. So, I'll like some recommendations of piano music. If you can also provide sheet music i'll be super grateful :D by the way- not too easy- somewhere around the 8th grade standard (could be a bit harder or easier) - really really really nice music - doesn't have to be from the Classical, Romantic, Baroque era. (I've played a lot of Chopin, Poulenc, Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven, Scarlatti, Bach and many others ) I'm fine with New Age and movie/film soundtracks (e.g Unchained Melody- Ghost) Thanks in advance (: moreResolved Question: Who would say is the one with the better playlist?
Today in my 4th period, we had an awesome sub. She let us listen to our iPods while we worked on a Math sheet with a partner. None of my best friends are in my Math class, unfortunately, so I had to be a lone wolf and just sit in my desk and listen to my iPod and do the sheet. A cheerleader, whom I am not very fond of but thinks we're friends, came over to me ad asked if I wanted to be partners. I said yes, because she is good at Math and I have a C+ in Math. I pretty much just copied her answers. She slapped a shiny iTouch down on my desk. "My play-list is the bomb." she stated. I highly doubted that, my music taste was frozen in the '60s 70's and '80s. I scrolled through her playlist, all crap, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Christina Agulera, and just about every Disney Movie soundtrack you can think of. I just nodded and out her iTouch back on the desk. She snatched up my Black iPod Nano and scrolled through my Artists. All of my Artists are from the '60s, '70s and I have some from the rad '80s. She wrinkled her nose, "Who are these people? Like, I've never even heard of The Byrds!" Then she continued to scroll through, commenting by saying, "They're retarded" or "I've never heard of them" or "Why do you have them?" She got closer to the bottom of my list of Artists. I'm not gonna lie here, I have 167 Who Songs. She raised ehr eyebrows, "Why the hell do you have so many Who songs? I mean, really, what's so great about them?" I glared at her, "The Who rock. They are one of the greatest bands EVER, not that you would know, you don't have a life outside of Disney." She rolled her eyes and tossed the iPod in my lap. "Whatever. Just join us in the 21st Century and get a NORMAL playlist." I didn't say anything to that, I just shoved my iPod in my pocket and got in line to leave for the Cafeteria. Who do YOU think is the one with the better playlist? I thought my playlist kicked ass! I've been playing guitar for..hm...7 months now. I know plenty of chords, can strum and tune my guitar. Can slide and you know. But the thing is I CAN'T LEARN SONGS. And I don't know why! You see, when you get a tab, then you're playing NOTES. But like all average songs, that you use chords ans strumming and stuff, i don't know HOW to KNOW how to play them. On ultimate-guitar.com, I get guitar chord sheets for different songs, and I know how to play the chords, but u see, writing can't expain stum patterns and tricks and things... How about sheet music? In sheet music, is there chords and tricks like written like notes and stuff. I wouldn't know cause I can't read sheet music, and Guitar For Dummies says that's completely OK. But they'll tell you anything since you're a dummies right? So how about all you guitar players, how do you learn new guitar songs? Do you learn online? If you do, how do you? If you don't, how do you? I've heard that Sibelius is the best but the price does seem a bit over the top (600 pounds!) are there others that anyone has for a lower price (preferably under 50 pounds if possible) that have the same or similar features, the ones I need are: being able to write music with or without a keyboard plugged in being able to select different instruments for different parts being able to play lots of parts at the same time (eg. orchestra pieces) being able to listen to your work on the computer I want it to be sheet music that you can see and print out, not like garageband I have been writing music out by hand for a while but it is a bit of a pain as obviously I can't play all the parts at the same time and unfortunately I don't have my own private mini orchestra so I never get to hear what they properly sound like. Hi. Recently I started playing my flute again and was unable to find any of my old sheet music. I really will play anything, but if you could find any soundtracks to movies (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc.) it'd be greatly appreciated. I also, if you could find any, would like sheet music for Legend of Zelda, Mario, Final Fantasy, anything whimsical. In one week I have to go to Jackson, Tennessee to audition for All West Tennessee. I'm really nervous though! This is my first year, and I've never played in front of a judge. But, my prepared sheet sounds great. * Here's what the music looks like, if you have any suggestions! http://www.scsk12.org/scs/middle/Arlington_Mid/WT01_Jr_Flute2009.pdf I'm really nervous, any tips?
